results into you maybe paying a little bit more than you need to so in this video we're going to focus on the two main areas people like me car salesmen focus on when they're selling you a car with this information it's going to empower you to walk into the dealership with more confidence knowing that you're not going to overpay and walk out with the car that you want and the price that you deserve the first one happens right here in front of the dealership right in front of your eyes and by you not knowing this it costs you thousands of dollars every single car deal so what am i referring about your trade-in what's the technique that i'm talking about it's called the walk around get it the silent walk around car salesmen all over the country hate me for saying this i see their comments in groups they hate me i see comments all over the internet saying the car dealership tried to steal my trade today no they didn't try to steal your trade you didn't keep your mouth shut and you gave them ammo to give you a lower dollar amount than what you think your car is worth so let me demonstrate what a good car salesman does with you present to give you a lower value on your car so this is the vehicle you plan on trading in yeah awesome how long have you owned it um three years awesome do you mind if i uh take a look around it sure go ahead awesome sounds good just changed the tires recently a few rocks had hit the car you know shut up this is not the time to talk shut your mouth don't say a word when the car salesman starts pointing out flaws in your car see this see all these paint chips why are you ignoring me speak to me lady all right so she did the exact thing you want to do when the salesman is doing the silent walk around the very first demonstration was wrong you shut up then secondly we walked around the car and even though i tried to get her to talk she did exactly the perfect thing zipped it up so the purpose of a silent walk around with the customer is to do exactly that devalue the trade some great terminology that i love to use with customers well used to is hey have you done anything to enhance the value of your vehicle over the last six months you can't enhance a depreciating asset listen folks i mod my cars right we're proud of our mods your mods do not add value to your car your six inch lift kits do not add value to your trucks your exhaust does not add value to your corvettes or your sports cars so listen these things are going to come up but when they're doing the silent walk around like that do not say a word matter of fact don't even go with them stay inside the dealership it's freezing out here now right stay inside the dealership stay warm let them freeze their hineys off and to go a little further in detail to give you some context of what i was pointing out was little itty-bitty chips like this right now the dealerships may come out here and say hey listen we're going to paint the whole hood right they're not going to paint the hood they're going to get black paint they're going to touch each one of these up and sell it for full retail value the whole pain the hood thing would never come up if you didn't say a word so don't say a word i don't know how many times i can tell you don't say a word stay away from the car when they're doing their silent walk around the next area you have to do your due diligence is is right here on the showroom floor and you have to be able to pay attention to these guys these are the numbers of your car deal most car deals go south when worth more money you have an idea why no no i started at the beginning of the video and whoever speaks first loses car salesmen talk about this all day long every day when they present numbers to the customer you're going to find out one thing that i do let me make sure there's no other concerns and then we'll go from there okay so this is your sales tax right here this is all your title and license fees right there what's this fee this is the dealer processing fee and that's just the fee that goes to handle all the logistics of a car deal why do i have to pay that stop what are you doing didn't i just tell you a second ago not to talk about the fees yet no well i mean i am after we edit this video but yes so we're talking again she brought up the dealer doc fee and other fees again it's not important right now you need to wait till the end to bring up any objections so that is a perfect example of a customer and a salesman interaction every single day right here in the showroom floor of any dealership across the country that's also a very bad way for a customer to speak to a salesperson because he who speaks first loses so we're going to show you exactly what to do and here this is all your rebates and discounts this is your trade allowance right here this is all your sales tax tag title license and then that's your total balance right there do you have any questions no i think we're good okay so over here shows your retail repayment options so this is a 60 month 66 month and 17 month payment with zero one thousand and two thousand down everything's estimated apr until we submit it to the bank based off of the way you wanna buy the car and we'll get you the exact payment and the exact apr once we get that done so all i need you have you signed right there and we're good to go okay so is there any wiggle room i'll show you wiggle room wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle ooh what she did right there was absolutely perfect she kept her mouth shut she listened to what i had to say she gathered all the information and then brought up the objections one thing that i would always caution is to know two things one if you have a trade what it's worth based off my last videos to make sure that you understand what your trade is worth how to determine what your trade value is to know that you're getting a fair deal two make sure you use the same techniques and the same patterns to make sure you know what you're paying for the new vehicle new or used it doesn't matter make sure you're getting a fair deal and a good deal on that vehicle that you're purchasing when you have those two things in mind everything else goes very smooth and that right there was an exactly perfect example of how you as a customer should interact with a salesman when they're presenting you your numbers do not speak until the very end when you have all your ducks in a row when you've done everything i've showed you in the past videos it makes the negotiation process very simple so are you uh ready to take this truck home sure i don't think so what i thought we had a deal lady all right so we had a question come in that we wanted to answer this most good car dealerships nowadays are giving you one price carmax carvana vroom bachmann chevrolet and louisville kentucky we're all giving you one price nowadays because we know that you're at home shopping on the internet and you're cross comparing across all sorts of dealerships and all these third-party websites like car gurus truecar admins cars.com all those websites are giving you fair market value and data if you're paying too high too little or it's a fair deal so nowadays if a car dealership is a really good dealership they're pretty much not negotiating anymore would you agree yeah we go to a lot of car conferences we talk to a lot of dealerships and that's the way the car business is going
