welcome to Green Bay a beautiful autumn even as the Lisa started to change and welcome to historic Lambeau Field one of the great settings of all of football as tonight the Denver Broncos make their first ever appearance in this remarkable Stadium the only NFL team to have never played here in regular season it's the Broncos and Packers on TNT hi again everybody I'm Gary bender you know the first quarter the season has been a surprise for both of these ballclub the Broncos slumped to eight and eight they fired head coach Dan Reed new head coach Wade Phillips a new offense and 23 new faces bigger that they would get slowly out of the chute but that's not been the case they're surprising three and one the Packers on the other hand were nine and seven they merely missed the playoffs and they thought it was a breakthrough season but they've started now one in three and the long-suffering Packer faithful hope the pack is back but they realize they haven't had back-to-back winning seasons since 1966 and 67 with me is Pat Haden and Pat if the Packers gonna break this three-game losing streak they've gotta have a big game out of sterling charm well he will be the featured guy tonight for the Packers now the pack of coaches came into this seat and he said you know he caught 108 balls last year they wanted to spread it around but they got off to that 1 & 3 start they said well that's not working and they said he is our best offensive player so who are we kidding let's get him the ball tonight they're gonna try to get the ball to Sterling Sharpe and Gary it's easy to take away a wide receiver so you're gonna see him move around or hand him the ball but they need to get him the ball at least 10 times tonight last year at the age of 23 Brett Favre made it to the Pro Bowl but this year he's been struggling he's had a tough time of the Blitz well you know it's funny about the NFL once you get a reputation for defensive coordinators about not being able to handle a bliss you're going to see it week in and week out until you prove yourself that you can't handle it Denver's defensive game plan tonight against Brett Favre is to bring the Blitz they're gonna bring safeties they're gonna bring linebackers and unlike a mature quarterback like a Marino where you might disguise a blitz with Favre they're gonna show it to him early and they want to see how he's gonna react well here's the situations further complicated for the fact they have a lot of injuries in the offensive line they have three new starters yeah this is a major factor I think for the Green Bay Packers look at their lineup a week ago when they played against Dallas you see that's the winners at left guard camp and start at center Robins with the right tackle here's what's gonna happen tonight three new starters you Weddell go to the left guard winners shifts the center and Sims at right tackle and in Mike Holmgren is very concerned he said that we have an injury there tonight we're a real problem because they're very thin there John Elway loves his new West Coast offense he's been spectacular he's completing 67% of his passing you know this is Elwes 11th year and statistically this is his best season and we talked to him yesterday he says I'm playing as well as they ever have because I feel confident I'm loose I don't have to I feel like the pressures off I don't have to win the game the last two minutes every week because of all the weapons we have and the other thing he always said is my offensive line is played great particularly my left tackle Gary Zimmerman they picked him up for the Minnesota Vikings in a trade and I tell you there's only two or three left tackles that you can leave out there all by themselves and not worry about your backside Gary Zimmerman is one of them I'm talking about all the weapons they have a new weapon and rookie running back Glen Milburn some people are comparing into a smaller Barry Sanders this is a guy who was an exciting player and you know he has the ability to make a stand up and Cheer this one Milburn now Wade Phillips said to us last night you know we need to get him the ball more it's been kind of a nickel kind of player a temporary player but one of the keys tonight is the Denver Broncos getting the ball to Glen Milburn well it's really a spectacular night here in Green Bay temperature kickoff time 43 degrees and of course another sellout here in one of the finest places to ever come and see a football game on the forecast partly cloudy as we mentioned earlier the leaves that started to turn and this is a remarkable setting Wade Phillips who for four years was the defensive coordinators at Denver Broncos he was an interim coach way back in 1985 for the New Orleans Saints he is four and four career and he has an offense is really catchy everybody's attention in the Colorado air and Mike Holmgren in his second year he's canon temporary why's he were to the 49ers and brings know that 49ers offensive him to Green Bay Jason even will kick off the Packers at one the time to run to the football return against Allison play [Applause] [Applause] similar to the 95-yard return he had against Dallas this one 168 you know Gary we're talking to Reggie White yesterday it said you know our office the defense hasn't played very well but if we hit play as well as our special teams we have a chance and essential team coached by Nolan trommel have done a remarkable job this year for the Green Bay Packers second weekend alone we get a in a row that had a big return a good key block on the wedge and Brooks probably should have scored there and Bret fire who they hope to calm down a little bit he is so pumped up celebrating his 24th birthday today he had a brilliant season last year went to the pro ball struggling with the Blitz he's been a little bewildered we'll see how that develops tonight [Music] gets inside that's funny just inside the 20 to the 19 yard line so Brett bard good work ethic strong-arm about to be the cornerstone to this team for years to come and Mike Holmgren says our offense is a quarterback driven offense for us to win our quarterback has to play very well second down and eight for the Packers from the dye team shark comes in motion fired what setting necessary sets the move and he's very close to the first down he needed to get to the eleven and a half yard line now let's take a look at tonight's American Airlines starting lineup and in that backfield Bennett and Stevens two big bruisers back there sharp that a hundred and eight catches a year ago Clayton the former Miami Dolphin and up front we documented the changes three new starters up front and as pata said it's awfully hard to have some continuity in that circumstance third down and yard to go [Applause] it'll be Steven Stevens does not get the first down he did not land up there and he Qaeda's down bounce to the outside that may have cost him the first down one of the inside linebackers I think sucks the lead blocker Edgar Bennett so it should be a fourth down they're looking to the far side of the field that Mike Holmgren has a fourth down it appears coming up and you know when you're when you're one in three I think you take some chances like this but you always you always ask for a measurement you're a quarterback you always want to know how far if you're short at all you want to know exactly how short you are well the Packers have been very successful this year on fourth down they are four of five and this could be awfully big in this football game that they wouldn't get it here if they like to go for it I don't think they have it because Stevens didn't bounce it up and there it is you can see how short they are well my corner in his second year get me to make a big decision early in a game you know easygoing football team you're one in three you're playing at home you go for you can see how much they need the Packers have had a tough time establishing a running game they've had only 36 yards against Dallas they were going to go more to three wideouts and a single back through the course of this game but right now they got to slug it out and if you're a Denver defensive player right now it don't get suckered into a hard count no offsides no easy first down fourth down and west - they are [Applause] comes in votes in hand off fighting for that was Dave Lyman the former Seattle Seahawk who was there to make the stop we'll wait to see if they got the first down the Broncos Steve Atwater said they didn't you play against this Denver defense you not only playing against inside linebackers you're playing against some safeties in Atwater and Smith that play like linebackers very tough short yardage team the Denver Broncos there's the other guy you're talking about tennis Smith here comes a measurement it's either going to be the Broncos football or first down at the 11 [Applause] you couldn't even tell that was too close this is Edgar Bennett and number 57 Dave Wyman is the guy who gets in there first in 57 in the white jersey and then and then it was Dennis Smith strong safety again playing like a linebacker so holmgren gamble pays and they have a first down at the 11 so that 68 yard kickoff return and now our first down at the 11 of Denver [Music] by grow games on that he was drawn on one very subtle about no and I thought one official it took him about 15 seconds to throw a flag goes once wonder what cooking so long not that cold girls it's no I could double clutch couldn't get that flag out Larry that was a play by half water at water in the back of the endzone was Mark Clayton being hunted receiving you know I think that's what makes at water an unusual player in that he can play like a linebacker love we just talked about but he's got some subtlety about him he's got some finesse he's got a feel for the game you know it's a lot of big hitters in the league but few guys should be big hitters and then turn around in the next play and make a subtle play like that then he used a unique free safety in the league Denver has not given up the touchdown of the first quarter of play thus far this year second down 15 [Music] the shot go strong time to wrestle prove it up the field Tyrone blacks can never get gettin down and here come to play black people hanging on so let's see what this is all about sharp actually got about three hours [Applause] half a distance of the end of the run this is good let's look at this it's drawn a de who is involved in this in the thing that the yards after the catch are the key thing that the Denver Broncos don't whistles blown here I think and so half the distance to the goal only I don't know what I know what they're calling a Finley on that floor they called it unpro net the number 99 but that should have been a penalty but what it does it gives them a first down half the distance to the goal and it's a six and a half yard line one of the key defensive matchups to Gary is Tyrone Braxton against Sterling Sharpe somewhere in this game Tyrell Braxton is going to try to pick a ball off three straight games of hackers are stored in the opening Siri like they're like to come after far that's what they want to show barb rolling he's inside the 5 to the 3 it'll be second and goal there well we said at the very beginning of this broadcast they the coaches of the Packer said hey we're not gonna kid ourselves anymore and try to spread spread the ball around we're going to get it to our best offensive player that is sterling sharp and they've thrown the ball to him now three times and then what they're really trying to do is get the ball to him out in the flat and have him break it tackle he's going 3d is a very difficult if super to bring down back in a goal at the four couldn't connect with surly sharpen Tyrone Jackson he was there Braxton who study so much film in fact he's got to kind of wall them into something he'd like to pick off one he has two interceptions already this year Braxton was talking to his yesterday saying that you know I'm gonna lay off sterling sharp a little bit I'm gonna wait for Brett Farve to call a quick out and audible and then I'm going to jump the route if I jump it and intercept if I'm gone so it's third and goal officially marked at the three yard line it's actually between those areas the three and the four most ways to go so they come to a fourth down named Chris Jackie to attempt a field goal a pretty good defense by this Denver team after being stunned with that 68 yard kickoff return that's a you know that's a defensive team really get their job at the Denver Broncos II the special teams give up a big return journey star those defensive line coach for the Denver Broncos they did their job their defense forcing the field bulletin Chris Jackie will come in an attempt to 23 yarder last week they're gonna hold this one up every flag out of every officials pocket came out of there at the same time seemingly the Packers have had this ball forever it's 1036 left on this Drive still don't have any points that is Doug Wydell one of the two 1l brothers who have playing in this game both of them getting the starting call Dave will be starting at left guard when the Broncos get the ball well that's going to back it up now this will be a 28 yard attempt [Music] after trying to take the lead at the 10:35 one Waggener hole and the kick by Jackie is right down the middle so Green Bay with a 68 yard kickoff return gets three points out of it three nothing for the pack let's go back to one of the receptions by Sterling Sharpe and show you why the the Packers didn't score he's gonna run an out right but Charles Demery stays here and then just tackles of no yards after the catch that's one of the key things for the Denver Broncos tonight sharp is gonna catch his passes but you have to tackle him after the catch and Denver did a nice job of forcing him down otherwise man he breaks that tackle he scores a touchdown significant he only weighs 170 pounds Demery is undersized but he certainly doesn't have a small heart you can see that Jackie kicking off Delpino along with Glenn Milburn backe here comes the exciting to the 20-yard line I wasn't so excited Elway with this new offense coming in to having a lot of fun very confident he's been completing 67% of his passes and all these numbers are really been going through the roof he's always been a great talent they're very happy now he is and the idea the concept of this offensive philosophy is get a 15-yard gain Gary without a 15-yard past first snap the ball again Derick Russell will go on motions of Denver mr. Rob Bernstein Bernstein wool purples he's waiting to the arms of Leroy Butler and dropped at the 27-yard line okay let's take a look now at the American Airlines offensive line up we just mentioned Bernstein Vance Johnson who was cut came back to join this team Shannon Sharpe of course set Sterling's younger brother and what a battle they're going to have this year we'll talk more there but further about that Zimmerman Liddell the other brother we have a dual family reunion going on here today second down [Music] [Applause] [Music] at a time up to fear Kimbrel who's the fastest player on this team never heard much about him he made one catch last week out of Jackson State a rookie could not hang on defensively for Green Bay they've had some people missing and one of those guys is Bill Moss at nose and he will not play tonight they've lost Bryan Noble to knees surgery and also Tony Bennett has not signed in this secondary they think Leroy Butler is played at a caliber and George Teague at his first start the rookie from Alabama [Applause] they're down for [Applause] [Music] had some pressure coming trying to hit over the far side the tight end Reggie Johnson incomplete it brings up fourth down and so the Broncos are three and outs and Tom Rouen will come in a putt and Terrell Buckley an exciting returner goes back for Green Bay region nothing the Packers 935 to go on the first quarter [Applause] ruin hits it high but not especially long and down by Kimbra at the 35 and here's another class so Canberra was down there quickly after a 38-yard punt let's sort this one they go to three wideouts single Ronnie back in Steven our best shot this for capture tonight that'll be a gain of five just across the 40 and coming over as Tyrone Braxton to make the tackle Brett Favre now has thrown six passes all his completions have gone too far to a sharp four of those and of the six passes five of them have been directed at sharp so the coaches weren't kidding when they said hey we're not getting big enough kid around anymore we're gonna get the ball to Sterling Sharpe we don't care if they say we're right-handed we'll just go if he's having the right-handed hearing they wanted to spread it out but they're going to use their big playmaker back it in five Stephen Stephen [Music] all the way to the 48 that's got to be encouraging to my homeroom because they have not been able to run the football yeah the storm in this game has to be encouraging to Mike Holmgren they've run the ball there well as you just said Gary they've had a big special teams play so far their defense forced us lien out by Denver so thus far clearly early in the first quarter in a three nothing lead Mike Holmgren has to be happy with the way this game has started they script those plays to start of the game it's worked so effectively but after they started games is where they've really fallen off down at the 48 Bennett thunders ahead for a first down to the 39-yard line of Denver that's an 11-yard run and benefit is the guy who is it kind of a tweener he's not picking up to play pull back in some ways maybe not elusive enough to get outside but he's a good package a complete player who can catch the ball very well coming out of the backfield here we talked about the Blitz watch they're going to see that a lot of bliss now the Packers come back with a little draw which is a good call against it Dennis Smith the strong safety got started a little bit late but but Brett Favre is gonna see a lot of that tonight first down to the 40 play-action fake [Music] with his first catch of the night that's a first down at the 25-yard line the all-time leading receiver for the Miami Dolphins with at 15-yard grab there's a guy 81 touchdown receptions with the dolphins but again he should get some single coverage and that's one of the subplots tonight Gary Mark Clayton this time against Tim Hren now that's twice dimmer he has slipped once when he was trying to block tackle sharp that time mark plate but Mark Clayton should be a guy that's going to get one-on-one coverage and should break open play thus far the lines doing a good job for far [Music] 25 first down he gets rid of it this time the Robert Brooks and books with a drop short of the 20 yard line speaking about Brett Favre we were talking to the coaches they've had him off of copy they will have him take this energy drink that he has because he's so hyper he is so intense they're trying to slow him down a little bit he's got the metabolism of a hummingbird you know he just was always going a million miles a minute and they really are trying to to calm them down to slow him down that's been part of the problem on the Blitz reads he gets so excited he knows what he's wants to do but he ended receivers aren't quite ready for the throw second instructs closes looks like he had first down Running Room and all of a sudden he closed down because Dave Lyman closed on him this is a guy who started last year for Seattle replacing Michael Brooks at that inside linebacker spot and Charlie waters defensive coordinator Denver's at the beginning a year they were real concerned about their inside linebackers but Dave Wyman has really played well for Michael Brooks who faced a weak inside linebacker which needs a place on the weak side of the the formation and so he should run and make a lot of plays on the move just like he did there three yards to go [Applause] Simon Fletcher short of the goal line what an effort by breath a 17 yards to the far side and he ran in and somehow ran out of it it's the kind of place that got people excited about Brett Favre last year now number 57 in the middle of your screen is Wyman he's blitz and so it's Mecklenburg the two inside linebackers blitz now he did a terrific job as Rutgers number 75 pushed his guy out of it and Favre just spins at it and has pretty good speed crossed anyway its first and goal at the half yard line the Packers trying to build a and disputes fights him the ball is loose but he's been given the touchdown with booked the plane to the goal the ball coming loose does not matter and the Packers have gotten off to a remarkable start 9 to nothing you know they started fast against Philadelphia in week 2 and lost they've actually lost two very close games but this is something you've got a key to continue to maintain but they are they've done everything well offensively defensively special teams and seemingly have been down at this end of the field the entire first quarter as Denver's had at only three snaps Mackie to attempt the point after he's hit 95 in a row he is four away from Paul hornings record of 99 at the 510 mark try to make attend another and Jackie is now hit 96 in a row 10 nothing the packers a team as Pat mentioned has been stunned with too late losses getting off the mark effectively here trying to break a three-game losing streak and stay in the race in the NFC Central john stevens acquired from new england for a fourth-round draft pick with the touchdown that's the first rushing touchdown given up by this Denver Bronco team the first touchdown they've given up in the that one maybe yard will bring up second down well here we are with 450 left in the first quarter Gary in Denver has only had three offensive plays now in there and they're down the pack for the Broncos are down ten to nothing here's where Wade Phillips defense once again have to make a play I mean stop at least forced a field goal attempt because the way this this team is playing a package of mine right now they are playing very confidently here at home they're not local into one in three tonight they came in here was in three in a row to the other favour to the NFC Central was bumped off the play he did not get to the football he was tangled up with Dennis Smith and also Tyrone Braxton so no one close to the ball and it's going to bring up a third down was those how was Brett Favre going to handle the Blitz and some of that's dependent upon the offensive line that time Steve Atwater the free safety came in blitz but the offensive line did a terrific job the offensive line did a terrific job of giving far of a chance to throw it Charlie waters of course the outstanding player for the Dallas Cowboys and how the defensive coordinators Philips third down and virtually 10 yards to go Bennett Stevens in the backfield Stephens comes in motion bars got time [Music] [Applause] [Music] he's got it as he is inside the 12 where he sterling sharp play catch the ball Gary he does not bother the ball he attacks the ball he doesn't wait for the ball to get to him here's the slot band number 84 he's gonna run a little hook route and watch out quickly as soon as he catch it he turns and he's very good after the catch because he said to us yesterday I know where people are coming from I know what the angles are he also knows when he picks up the first day i pointed line but its first and goal Edgar Bennett Gary nice real nice feel for the game and bread far you know maybe they have calmed him down because he has shown an awful lot of poise tonight under a heavy rush by Simon Fletcher one of the outside linebackers he just got a nice little touch over his arms to his back pin it Parvez 9 at 1261 yard [Applause] [Music] was he hammered on that one wouldn't even close to getting in he got almost flipped on the play as he tried to crack it up the mill not Bennett again it's not that big of running back by some standards he weighs in at about two ten to fifteen that time he didn't get anything he may have lost some where about where they started will be second and goal from there well number this is not a great running team the Green Bay Packers they have three off new offensive linemen starting tonight and that makes it very difficult on short yardage and goal line then at Steven Tsukuba [Applause] [Music] it's been it again trying to go being chased he gets out across Buckland Berkman scores a touchdown and Wade Phillips has to be stunned [Applause] 16 to nothing green bay and the first visit ever to Lambeau Field by the Broncos of the regular season is not going real well right now good lead block by John Stevens that really opened the way for Edgar Bennett to score [Applause] Jackie now to try to hit his 97th in a row and now he's two away from Paul hornings record watch the block by number 32 the lead flat back when you get a lead block that control the corner the defense like that you can get into the corner of the end zone what Gary the Green Bay Packer special teams have set the tone for this football game I mean they have played exceptionally well tonight you know the kickoff return by Brooks the fumble recovery by Teague and they're not giving up any yardage to Glenn Milburn on the kickoff returns gonna bring this one back to illegal use of the hands holding number 38 on the run back 10 yards in the spot of the run first down there's your old world man Cromwell colon Cromwell the flash from Kansas ransom Kansas who was your teammate with the Los Angeles Rams he was a quarterback at Kansas at a defensive back in the NFL he was a great player and now practice right now for 12:17 [Applause] and you can see the Packers are playing now with great intensity good reaction by George Koontz number 53 well you know the Denver Broncos have been a very good team at home Gary but they have not been particularly good on the road now the Packers have played well tonight and deserve the 17 point lead but right now John Elway was had a lot of comebacks in his career there's there you see the road record he's going to have to get something on the board he's gonna have to the Shannon Sharpe for plays for six yards for Denver at this stage with fights off of it in complete yet pleasure coming pop rice pop was in his face and Elway is old for three and Denver right now needs something to jumpstart their offense you know John Elway has jump-started their office you know so many times and I think the situation right now is where Elway is better than anybody you know the third and tens a third down quarterback it's been a great third down quarterback and a two minute drill quarterback and this is where he [Music] you see the percentages its third along here third and ten a difficulty Katz's made remarkable cats by Vance Johnson he goes up high as we come to the end of the first quarter a 16 yard completion and that gives Elway something to build on as they go to quarter number two 17 to nothing Green Bay [Music] we start the second quarter first down for Denver trailing 17 to nothing [Applause] Johnson and here comes a flag he had teak draped on him along with Terrell Buckley and will have a penalty flag both of them almost there at the same time in that first quarter Pat green they had the ball 12 minutes and 50 seconds it's been phenomenal say one thing though when you're playing against the Green Bay Packer defense you still have to have a plan for Reggie White and generally it requires two blocker 68 Freeman and then you can see Mill groom take a shot at him now it's above the way so that's not an illegal block by Milburn but Jim mufasal' the offensive coordinator Denver said we have a plan for Reggie White we're going to have two guys on him most of the game and then Vance Johnson Court made that great 1600 and the quarter Concord Defense solid boots the inside linebacker first to get there if there are Denver Bronco right now Gary you're thinking yeah we're down by 17 points but you do have one of the great comeback quarterbacks in the game and the idea here is not to get too excited I always been in this position before Clair Lee's come back in one lot of games in his 11th year but they have to print away at that 17 point deficit they can't let too many series getting some culture sucking down [Applause] oh it goes down Matt Brock was there and always had such good protection he'd had only four sacks previous to this after suffering fifty to a year ago that's a seven-yard loss back to the 31 yard line and that brock should make some sacks this year anytime you double-team a guy like Reggie white on one side the guys who are single team to have to come through have to make some plays white was there in the middle of your screen he was doubled scored 30 points but Kevin Kiley the main thing to look at is the defense even though that Denver has the improved offensive line the Packers defense is played well they played great Pat's willing and I have been sitting here during the first half discussing the importance of pass rushing and how do you deal with a guy like Richie white now Reggie doesn't have a whole lot of sex in the first half but he's made a heck of an impact on that Denver offense no he sure has taken two and three players to blocking sometimes and when one plate a head nil when trying to help block on him and that keeps me over from getting out into the past route but as you can see here this is the play nietzermann can't get out so that also takes away from the from their office so he's definitely made an impact during the game and of course here John Elway was able to get away on this and complete the pass he completed a bunch of them in the first half 14 for 170 yards but on this play you'll see them double-team Reggie and that's gonna free up somebody else yes you will get a good pass rush up the middle and also Brock comes from the outside and one-on-one with his guy and listas Garber reg it really makes the play happen because it makes the guy step up in the pocket and Brock comes along and makes it gets to sack it also makes you wonder about just how effective this Packer defense could be if and when Tony Bennett gets back now one of the things we talked about in the pregame show Pat you and I was the fact that you've noticed a trend change in stripping the ball obviously it's an old football technique but more emphasis on it this year you said you've had it and we saw it some in this game here tonight well I learned it from Ricky Jackson down in New Orleans he always talked about stripping the ball ball away as you can see in this game here this guy comes he's run the ball Millburn right here and the guy comes right in he has an opportunity to tackle the guy but instead of just tackling him he tried to stroke the ball out and they were able to get it out and and the ball's going the other way and the packers have the ball and that's really a great place it is at George Teague the rookie making his first start how do you do it how do you teach it I mean you teach you not to tackle to tackle to half tackle well you teach him to wrap up what is with one arm but also try to get the ball out and there's a lot of opportunities when you can and can't do it and you have to teach your players win the gamble and try to get the ball out and win not to and and I think that's taught doing practice and we're doing it in Detroit and I think a lot of teams around around the ladies doing it yeah now if you're you're done Denver side of the ball here you get the 30 points have been given up to the Green Bay Packers what's your view about Denver Broncos coming into the second half of this game I think always gonna have to set the ball and throw some deep balls he's going to be right in here going right down the middle here's Mecklenburg again give the Packers of credit to Gary is they came back to it you know they came back to the play they used Harris those three times and again I think when you're on a roll you're not afraid to call it on a guy's number yeah this was the 38 yard completion to Harris you see Michael Berg's doing everything he can should say was stripped to that one kickoff by Teague he hasn't been back there since - two surprises I think there's that the penalty against Denver - surprises - Gary Milburn was not a fact in the first half we thought he would be holding number 31 on the return ten yards from the end of the run first down in the second thing Brett Favre handled the Blitz in the first half not only Brett Favre guy as far as Elway is concerned and it will be a first down or this is the guy that if anybody can catch up he can do it and you know that that was what Mike Holder was talking about at halftime clearly give back in this football game but that's the guy for Green Bay sharp sterling sharp that has to get the ball back in his hands well it was all sterling then Shannon has started to catch Reggie White has been raising lettuce is there they you have to double teaming we said it on the critical downs for the most part they've done that but now it's a big wide split by white against Bremen and white on the single team has won that battle all night long it's only when they've had a double team as Reggie white can stuff his second sack of the night down 19 yards to go [Applause] Reggie wife well they paid him a lot of money and he's earned his money in the last two plays yeah you know why they're all the money they paid him it wasn't looking like the Louisiana Purchase wasn't but he's been he's earned his money tonight he has played remarkably well and not just on the sax but in the critical moments you know you have to TT Lagaan I graduate or he can change the nature of the game and he did exactly that so now at the 35 the Packers knowing that the Broncos have only one timeout remaining go to Annie and this crowd is a static and well way saying get a timeout to you guys you let too much time get away from you and he hasn't given up this guy clearly has not given up he just wants one more chance and there's a chant of Reggie starting throughout Lambeau Field [Applause] [Music] well he's been disappointed he lost his former teammates the Eagles they lost that unbelievable game to the Vikings really got their head handed to him last week by Dallas you know and here tonight Reggie White believed they could win it he said we gotta learn how to win and he showed him how you're right Gary and you know the Packers are still a year or two away from really contending I think in this league but we have a young team a very young team and with guys like that you mix in some veterans that can teach guys how to win in close games as he did tonight and you have a young quarterback Favre they can develop for you have a chance at a couple years LeBron goes can't stop the clock fate has used their last timeout and the Packers will end a three-game losing streak and really with this victory stay right in the chase because the leaders in this division are three and two and four three-way tie for first in the NFC Central and they'll go to two and three Denver on the other hand had a chance to move into a tie for first place with Kansas City in the AFC West of course they kept Kansas City a Mile High Stadium later and ooh we expect to see Reggie with Kevin and Bob on the Holiday Inn postgame show and then we have a flag that will stop everything with 36 seconds well it's not an easy way to win it you can have 32 7 lead and you don't get a first down to the point 45 yards still third down but you had enough cushion just barely I guess that mean it was an interesting game from that perspective and you know Green Bay has some great players including net man on defense sterling sharp on offense I'll repeat the story he came into the coaches this week and said you know I still believe I made the right decision coming here and they needed to hear that because if he started doubting then what happens to the rest of the football team we talked earlier how he could lift a team linebackers were better defensive backs are better other defensive linemen are better because of his presence and Elway tonight as they'll take another snap was 33 of 59 367 yards a touchdown interception still wasn't enough but they dug themselves a big hole and despite his brilliance could not get him out of it as they trailed 17 to nothing after the first quarter 32 7 at the halfway point and got as close as three points only at the very end to see this guy Reggie why come up with back-to-back sacks and my cold room now is 11 and 10 career-wise and a very big win for his conquer team and Denver the youngest team in the NFL whole field for the
