race Davey Allison Ernie Irvan they learn hard on everybody it's not really good you know we we just hook the wheel I have a good hand like are both same car we've been running in you seem to pick up a little about halfway so that's our that's our hope today when Dale Earnhardt goes the tracks like Bristol Tennessee he wins a third of the races that he enters Daytona and Talladega he's always a threat win but deal when we come to Charlotte this leg awful tough on yet times well it is you know it's been it's been a good race track for this home track a lot of fans and friends here and see Michael win or lose here we've had the carries things happen to us here we got Creek on pit road one race for broke and shape early in our race so you know anything can happen to us here we come here and run good and practice good it just seems like we don't win we have a real bad David and last spring we ended up third so you know we're looking forward to a good race here we've got a good race four races to go what a battle I'll be here coordinating the stories up and down pit road as this race unfolds with the help of six runners and spotters scanner listeners and two expert reporters Charlotte but they try to make this car faster they adjusted everything changed a lot of stuff and yesterday after the last practice they changed it all back but you haven't had a chance to drive it since all those changes it's discard all right well we were having a little bit of trouble getting the same handle right in practice yesterday so we made some changes kind of put it back to where we were here and make the track had changed a little bit between May and October and we were chasing the track around and you know we just couldn't get seem to get it right so we put it back pretty close to where we're here in May and we probably have to make few adjustments during race today but I think they're going to be all right well right now the hottest band in stock car racing is Harry Gant crew slipped when he went over the wall and there's a possible sprain or even a possible broken right ankle they're now putting him on the stretcher they're going to take him to the infield care we kept getting the car a little bit better and a little bit better and next thing you know we were out there you know I don't know if we had anything for mark he was awful tough but you know I hate to see him have problems but for one a fourth pending second Ford finished third so it's not a bad day for the Fords it was difficult to talk about the gas mileage Joey went nearly 120 miles on that to drive to but more the car that Morgan Shepherd out here today the number 15 do that well I think you can credit Tim brewer with a lot of things okay those guys are Vittorio's forget that gas mileage than what a lot of races on mileage and that they like if you take them anywhere you'd get them and at the end of this race I mean the fact that they got 76 times you think they're going to take an extra look at that gas tank when it pulls over the pumps are replaced by looking over the shoulder I'm sure they'll check it and that was an interesting fuel cell for sure but they've done that before I mean they have really worked hard on their mileage and it isn't in the fuel cell it's and how they use that fuel and use that air to make that car would those dinos used to be four horsepower now they've got a fuel flow fuel rate on them and they check that all the time that's just as critical as horsepower abilities so where do we go from here with these three races left we've got Phoenix Arizona that very flat file you've got the high banks of a Rockingham anagram finish at Atlanta is there any way rut can come back oh yeah because all things going to happen is they all have trouble early in a race and they would have a real good finish you can still turn this thing around it's you know you say where do you go from here you go crazy trying to figure that let's get many even Harry Gant was faster but it was Jeff bodean turn and he wound up in victory lane great job good way for him to lead this team with a victory well talking about that doesn't always go to the fastest car mark mark no question about it they had the fastest car this afternoon they developed some new engine products for that automobile evidently something happened Mark Martin desperately looking for his first win in over a year and trying to gain back that form that brought him nearly to Winston Cup championship he came up short in 1989 finished third second last year but it won't be this season I'm glad I don't have a handicap this type of racing Mark Martin was fastest Alan Kulwicki was fastest for a while Harry Gant dale earnhardt ricky rudd missed the accident ran out a lot
