hey this robert rat nation we're fairfield guess what i found the show and i found a really cool route i want you to look at I'm here with Bob if you like hot rocks unusual is what we got here or anything and rusty or old I don't know about it and I'm gonna show you something today you're gonna like I want you to meet Bob yeah I'm off Bob are you from Buffalo he's not far from home Bob is brought to the show today a really cool car and I think our viewers and our people is gonna like it I don't think you've seen one if you have you want to message me so I can take a look at it I'm gonna get behind this camera and I want to interview Bob and he's gonna talk a little bit about his car Bob excuse me here minute all right well what do you have what you bring to show today the 1951 King Mickey it's a only known factory prototype to exist they started making them in 48 and in 51 they started making them the model 2 and mass producing them in a lighter version this this prototype was too heavy and they couldn't make it then the engine would not pull it and Bob where did you find this car this car my daddy found it in Livingston Texas my daddy would buy out Hardware in lumber yards that he bought it in Livingston Texas when I was 8 or 9 years old I'm 68 now he gave $90 for it and brought it back and I started my mechanical career 50 years ago 60 60 years 50 years ago yes what a fine as a kid I played with it and drove it around town goes back then and all that you do things like that and then as it got older I parked it in a barn and and then a few years ago I said I'm a better mechanic now I can make it go so I went to started going all over it put tires on it and getting it ready for a Henderson Texas tractor show and we hauled it over there and put it in the next show and this is the third year I've been at this show this is the third item I brought you know when we go out to look and we got a shows and rallies this what we look for unusual we want young people to learn that you can still find stuff like this and still have a good time without spending 40 50 thousand dollars for parts Bob let's walk around a little bit to the side I want you to do some explaining to us and show our viewers what all you have now the tires and look just kind of like little wheelbarrow tires are a little bit bigger these are eight inch folk trailer tires I couldn't afford the five features they were quite expensive they're a fatter tyres 550 by eights so I bought the boat trailer tires in there and easy to find and they got tubes in them it's very difficult to get them put together and get the tubes in without pinching the tube but I got it done there's no front brakes the rear brakes are drawn with a shoe using a Crosley steering box the Crosley steering wheel that the factory would go to the scrapyards and get those things as long as they could to use for the steering this is one more two aircraft type Plexiglas no she's got the round bubbles with it probably come up airplane surplus you were you telling me that most are a lot of the parts on this it was still green and still it was using army manufactures there's army green colors on the gas tank the engine and the hood latches and still got army green on the brake cables are stainless steel aircraft type cables is mechanical brakes only the three spoke wheel was something they used for a while and then they went to a two spoke white wheels and they had to use a different sector because the Crossley sectors were no longer played you know one thing that everybody likes so much we're at the show here and everybody likes so much about this is that it's still original it hasn't been molested this is just like it was when it was made that's going around and look at the back these cars were too handy the prototype this is only known existing factory prototype there's a double made you'll see pictures of this but I cannot say that any one of those is this close as I can but they actually had doors on them and mahogany doors and they are tops farm with stalks and the engine the engine is army-surplus something that the military used for something they put central clutches on it for it's actually a two-speed it actually changes from first to second if electric is rolling pretty good a nine horse Wisconsin Wisconsin I think it could be a safe course but it's the eight we have six volt Jerry coffee I've changed it to $12 he's got a chain drive he only drives this wheel right here the right rear wheels only one grip that puts out the need for diferente right right how much would you say this car weighs Bob he's supposed to weigh 500 pounds it's a 500 pound car for $500 when they sold it is that what it costs another pound they came in a crate for the 8 crate you supply wood sheet of plywood and it was in a crate they ship them by Freight and real and you were you were telling me that they started these cars prototype and they tried to start making this one in probably 1948 and he took them to 51 and that's when they decided it was too heavy and then they they changed the model twos to a lighter version they cut a lot of sheet metal if you look on the Internet look at King widgets you'll see that they don't look like this they're they're lighter and they got less vendors and less sheetmetal I look let's go back to the front I really like the front end on this car somewhere down the line somebody that's what I was going to say yeah it was just address it up make it look more original in 1960 it was actually driven around Livingston Texas what a car 1951 King y'all this is what a car I think it's probably one of the best in this show it's certainly original it's one of those cars that you just can't walk around it enough and look at it Bob I sure appreciate what you did I sure appreciate you showing us this car thank you so much you bet hey guys man what a car what a time this rat nation we're bringing you the
