hi guys and welcome back to my channel or if it's the first time that you're watching then thank you for checking out my video I do a lot of baby names videos so if you come to my channel because you like baby names or you're expecting or you're just interested in names for children imaginary children then please check out my other videos today's video is actually a follow-on video from a previous Irish baby girl's name video that I made a couple of months ago has had loads of comments from you guys and it's now actually my third most watched video so thank you everyone who has checked that out but since then I realized there are so many other Irish names that I wish I had included in that video so I've decided to make a follow up and as you can tell by my accent I am originally from Northern Ireland I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland so I do know these names in the list I grew up with a lot of people who've been called these names so I'm gonna tell you the pronunciations as I know them in Ireland there are various pronunciations even though it's a fairly small country different areas can have different dialects and so some of the names can be pronounced differently in certain areas so if I don't pronounce it exactly how you pronounce it then feel free to leave a comment below to let me know how you pronounce it in different parts of Ireland alright I'm not going to blabber on too much I'm gonna get straight into this and I'm just gonna tell you the name how you pronounce it and what it means rather than giving lots of other information today because there are 15 names to get through so I don't want this video to be about an hour long so right let's get into this okay so the first name on my list is the name Aaron spelled er I N and I absolutely love this name and it actually is the poetic name for Ireland and it can also mean peace so - really lovely meanings there and obviously a really strong connection to Ireland and I just think it sounds really nice it's quite an easy one to spell as well because some of the Irish names can have slightly unusual Spelling's to people outside of Ireland they might seem a bit unusual anyway but Aaron kind of you say it how it's spelt soo-eee Rin and this is actually an iam I would really consider to use as a mid if I ever had another little girl so yeah it's definitely on my list next is the name shabaan spelled s io b aj n not see open it is Siobhan no I this is quite a common Irish name so you may have already heard about certainly in Ireland and Northern Ireland I knew this name and the pronunciation growing up it was quite common I had quite a few friends called Siobhan and actually my boss noise at my boss from channel one is called Siobhan so ya had to give this DM a mention it means God is gracious because it's the Irish form of the name Joan and Joan is a feminine form of the neom John so and John means God is gracious so that is where the meaning comes from so it's got a lovely meaning it's a really nice girl's name if you're looking for any and beginning with X or if you're looking for an Irish name then I think you should definitely add Siobhan to your list next it's the name Aisling spelled a is Li ng and this name has such a lovely meaning because it means either dream or vision so I just think that's a gorgeous name for any baby they're all like little dreams aren't they when they're first born until yeah until the lack of sleep starts and the screaming starts and all of that but when they're first born they're they're a little dream but yeah I just think Ashley is a lovely name I really like names that start with a boil and this one again isn't too unusual to spell and yeah I just think it's signs lovely so Ashley is third on my list next it's the name Bruner spelled B Rona gh you could spell at the more traditional Irish way which is B Rona C itch but most of the Bruner's I know are BR o n agh at the end so you know you could spell it whichever way that you want it doesn't have the happiest of meetings because it means sorrow so it's maybe not the most cheerful but it is also the name of a saint so there was a santa Bruner who was very well known in the 6th century and she was from pointy dine which is actually the coin ting that I am from so therefore I really like Liam Bruner as well so yeah that's the next name on my list next it's the name Caitlyn spelled CAI t Li N this is a very popular name back home where I'm from I knew a lot of Caitlyn's and a lot of my friends called their babies Caitlyn it's because it's such a pretty name I think for a girl it's a variant of the name Catherine and Catherine means pure so therefore Caitlyn means pure so another one with a really nice meeting next on my list then it's the Neum d'oeuvre spelled de a are B each la may be a slightly unusual spelling too one that you're used to but yes it is pronounced d'oeuvre and it has a few different meanings because it means true desire but it can also be translated to meaning that daughter of a poet or sometimes as well daughter of Ireland so it does have a few different meanings slightly depending on the spelling as well because you can also spell it de or VLA if you wanted but yeah the more traditional spelling is the one I mentioned do we ii go de AR b h la i'm trying to like make sure I've got all the letters the right where we go right way wrong to myself but I just think there is a lovely name apologies if I am in a slightly different position my camera just ran out of memory so I had to delete some videos and then reset up the camera and things so yeah I'm probably in a slightly different position so excuse that but anyway let's get back into the list next it's the name she frost spelt si o f ra so yes it looks more like sioffra but no you pronounce it cifra and this has a very cute meaning because it means either fairy or changeling so if your little one arrives and they look like a little tiny fairy then maybe you'd like to go for the name cifra next it's an Ian Brigid which you could spell either bri g ID or bri dget so there are a few different variations of the spelling she could also spell it bi bri GI t getting very confused but yeah this is quite a sort of a more I guess old-fashioned Irish knee and most of the people I know called Bridget are a little bit older but vintage eum's are coming so back into fashion at the moment so I think this could be a really lovely vintage Irish name to kind of bring back into fashion and I could imagine a little baby Bridget and and yeah of course it has the Irish connection as if you're looking for an Irish name and it means power strength vigor or virtue and an alternate meaning of the name is also exalted one so lots of nice strong meanings there next its name Keira spelt c.i.a or a and I noticed some people in America you prank that Sierra but in Ireland that is how you spell akhira and it is the feminine form of the neom Ciaran and Harun means dark or black haired so yeah Kiera means to see him for a girl so maybe if you have a little one who is born with a load of dark hair then Kiera be the perfect name and I know a lovely girl called Kiera who actually does have dark hair it's a friend of mine and she's lovely and so I always associate the name with people so I really really like the name Kiera next it's the name grunya spell to GRA I and n e so even though it looks like grand it is not pronounced like that is pronounced like grunya so I guess our GRA W and why a grown yeah and it's got a lovely meaning because it means either charming or love and granya was also a Gaelic legendary heroine who looked with Dermot so if you're looking for some connection with Irish mythology there you go okay the next name even I'm gonna need to look at my phone to make sure I get the spelling right because it is quite an unusual spelling so here we go it's CA o IL f age oh i n and it should be on the screen i think bear says CA o IL f hoi and n but it is pronounced either kalyan or kweilyn depending on which part of ireland you're from some places pronounce it with the cross island and some just have kealan so it does depend where you're from I like both pronunciations and the name it means slender and pale because it comes from the Neum coil which means a slender and fin which means v feel fair or peel so you have very Irish name there because a lot of us are quite Pele if you have a slender fair baby then maybe Quillen or kealan is one you'd like to go for next it's the name Nuala spelled nu Ala this is generally a shortened form of the name Finola but is now more common as a name than the name vanilla is I did know a finola growing up but I have heard of the name new l'amour nice so it is more common even though it's a shortened version of vanilla and in terms of the meaning it means a fair shouldered and exceptionally lovely the name has been in existence since the 13th century so yeah it's been around for quite a long time no the next name on my list is the names I've spelled sadp itch although there are a few ways that you can spell it so you can also spell it sa DB you can spell it sa IB itch FA DB itch sa d HB choose one of them but the pronunciation is save I really really like this name I think it's a very sweet name really short very cute and speaking of the fact that it sounds sweet it actually means sweet so I love that meaning and in Irish mythology scythe was the mother of ocean who's the son of Finn McCool if you've heard of the Giant's Causeway in Irish mythology it was that was Finn McCool who created the Jan's causeway to get to Scotland and he had a son called ocean and oceans mother was scythe so there you go another link to Irish mythology next it's the name Colleen it's spelled Co l een or you could spell it with a double L su Co double l een if you wanted but most Colleen's I know just spell it with a single L but it's up to you and this just means a girl or young woman and you may know the name because there are a few well-known Colleen's certainly here in the UK there's Coleen Rooney and he's married win Rooney and Coleen Nolan from the Newland sisters now partly the name is quite popular in America so if you're from America let me know do you know any Colleen's and the final name on my list is the name Shania's spelt Si and EAD and this also means God is gracious similar to Siobhan because she neared is from the name Jian it's the Irish and our big alec form of Jian and Jian is the feminine form of John so yeah that is well the name Nate means God is gracious so those are all the names on my list I hope you liked some of them let me know if you're cold these names or if you like any of these names or if your children are call any of these names also please let me know any other Irish girls names that you really like and leave them below it's always lovely to find out your names and find new Irish names that some of them I haven't even heard of some of the ones that have been shared before so yeah please leave any comments below thank you for watching this video check out my other Irish baby
