fangs claws deadly venom strangulation nature is pretty violent and sometimes two species just say okay that's enough let's duke this out again and again and a lot of the time millions of years of evolution has left these angry creatures pretty well matched from an eagle taking on the fastest animal on earth to a lion trading blows with a huge elephant here's the 15 craziest fights in the animal kingdom number 15 eagle vs cheetah there's something especially spectacular about seeing one top predator attacking and killing another top predator and that is exactly what happens when eagle meets cheetah here the spotted cheetah is instantly recognizable all over the world due to its spotted coat and long lith physique which has evolved to allow this big cat to be the fastest land animal of them all capable of running at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour or kilometers per hour once widespread through india africa and parts of asia the cheetah population is only around 7 000 individuals in the wild mostly in parts of africa and iran people have even tamed these ultra fast cats and used them for hunting however this speed takes time to develop and cheetah cubs are nowhere near as fast as the adults and as we can see in this video sometimes can end up as prey for eagles this african hawk eagle has stolen a cheetah cub and the cat is no match for the powerful claws and beak of the bird however mother cheetah is not going to let this tragedy go unpunished and climbs the tree to maul the eagle but nothing can save the cub before we go on like this video smash the subscribe button and click the notification bell right now or slenderman will come from under your bed when you're sleeping [Music] number 14 elephant vs lion this is one struggle that's pretty rare in the wild but was caught on camera here by a group of tourists on guided safari in a park in zimbabwe the group rose early to head out to a spot where they had seen a pride of lions the previous day hoping to catch sight of africa's greatest predators as they began their day what they saw was something truly unexpected an adult lioness grappling wildly with a young female elephant while the elephant might have been young she was far from a pushover and although clearly angered and in pain from the lion's teeth and claws digging into her skin and ears this baby elephant was not going to become anyone's dinner the elephant screams and has the strength to swing the big lion around in the air but this is one determined predator and those jaws are gripping hard finally the elephant figures out its strategy and lowers its head to push against the lion on the floor at this point the lion seems to realize the fight is lost and one last burst of energy from the elephant sees the lion tossed aside and then the pursuit begins as the angry elephant looks for revenge on the fleeing lion this lion better hope he never crosses paths with this elephant again they never forget number 13 bees vs ants here's two of nature's most fascinating insect species going for it in a battle to the death bees and ants can find themselves in regular conflict and while a loan be against several ants is not much of a contest in spite of the size difference when both creatures form into swarms then the bees can begin to balance things out the strength and tenacity of ants is formidable but bees do of course have the advantage of flight and a nasty sting which they can administer albeit while having to pay the ultimate price of death as the act of stinging kills bees both of these creatures are examples of animals who truly live for the greater good and any ant or bee will lay its own life down to defend the hive or colony that said the sheer weight of numbers usually lies with the ants and not to mention the sting of a bee is designed to fend off larger threats to their habitats than tiny ants this means that ants who are as it happens very closely related to bees are among the biggest threats bees face in nature and many beekeepers work tirelessly to find methods which protect their beehives from invading ants number 12. duck vs chicken here's two creatures whose names do not normally spring to mind when the subject of the greatest warriors of the animal kingdom is raised ducks and chickens in fact if anything the word chicken is synonymous with the exact opposite of this being a word as old as anyone can remember to describe someone who is cowardly ducks on the other hand are kind of the bad boys of the avian world known for their aggressive bad tempered behavior towards one another as we can see in this video though the alpha hen of the orpington chicken breed showed little fear in confronting this male muscovy duck in spite of being outgunned by the duck's long bill and at a significant weight disadvantage in the end the big duck won the day and the towel was thrown in to save the poor hen from being hurt but maybe chickens aren't quite so chicken after all it shouldn't be forgotten that the humble chicken is the closest living relative of none other than the tyrannosaurus rex number 11. honey badger vs snake here's two more of nature's wonderful beasts that have come to represent certain characteristics in human beings the snake has long been associated with sneaky cunning and even evil behavior the honey badger's entry into culture is a little more recent but to describe someone as being like a honey badger usually means that they are incredibly tenacious relentless and seemingly without an ounce of fear in them it's a pretty accurate description of how these natives of africa asia and indian subcontinent roll in spite of being a mid-sized mammal it has almost no predators because it is insanely tough and ferocious qualities it displays frequently in killing extremely venomous snakes from which most mammals would normally run a mile in this video we can see a honey badger making light work of a relatively harmless mole snake but if hungry enough a honey badger will take on the extremely non-harmless black mamba these venomous monsters are fast and deadly reports tell of honey badgers being bitten several times rendered unconscious and then waking up and going back for more against the mamba which surely has no idea how this crazy badger is still breathing let alone winning and yet that's what the honey badger does gets back up and keeps fighting until it eats the head eats the head of its challenger number 10. warthog vs rhino so while the warthog is a tough little pig there's no way that this could be considered anything like a fair fight a white rhino is a magnificent creature with unbelievable strength and power all of which can be channeled through that central horn which grows up to two feet in length but this video shows just what a white rhino is capable of when it has a sudden turn in mood things look to be going along pretty peacefully with a warthog and a white rhino sharing a pile of food together in a kind of comical way a second warthog tries to shuffle in on its knees as though asking for his majesty the rhino's blessing to join them at the table seems like the other warthog got a pass so why not well the answer is pretty emphatic as the huge rhino tosses the poor oliver twist the warthog high into the air before then kind of scaring himself when the hog almost lands on him that's gotta hurt number nine frog vs spider spiders are extremely fascinating intelligent and some would say utterly terrifying creatures these arachnids have a whole range of techniques for trapping and killing their prey ranging from venom to sticky webs to brute strength and biting power however the regal jumping spider is able to leap high into the air as a means of attacking and combined with powerful front legs and venom it means it is able to take down lizards and frogs up to three times its own weight which is a tiny one-tenth of an ounce you may be pleased to hear florida has many problems with invasive species and the cuban tree frog is one such species normally in their native lands these tree frogs prey on spiders but in florida the regal jumping spider has turned the tables and is helping to restore the local equilibrium by feasting on these unsuspecting frogs scientists were amazed to discover that regal spiders were capable of eating vertebrates but unfortunately for certain frogs and lizards we are now sure that they can number 8. bison calf vs wolf here's another animal battle where only a [ __ ] would bet against the mighty wolf in a fight against a one week old bison i mean this isn't a fight but a lazy lunch for the wolf right a full-grown bison would be a different story sure but one of nature's most intelligent tenacious and brilliant predators up against a practically newborn grazing animal and yet those of you who gambled on the baby bison might not have been so stupid after all separated from its herd and so young it still has a visible umbilical cord attached this little bison looks to be in trouble stuck on a rocky island after failing to cross the river with the rest of the bison pretty quickly a wolf moves in for the kill it looks like all is lost as the wolf aims for the jugular vein but the bison faces up and manages not only to evade the wolf's ferocious bite but even put up a purely instinctive fight the wolf seems unsettled by this little bison's tenacity and agility and before long the bison having freed itself from the wolf has figured out how to get its head down and charge causing the wolf to back off and give up and before long mother bison finally shows up to reclaim her young calf who will surely grow up to be one mighty bison warrior number 7. hippo vs buffalo here's two of africa's most magnificent beasts and both being herbivores the question is which of these non-predatory giants would win in a fight well while a buffalo is a pretty heavy animal weighing in at around 2200 pounds the hippopotamus is just in another weight class all together weighing more than three times as much furthermore while the buffalo has a nasty looking set of horns on its head for defense a hippo's massive crushing incisor teeth set inside a huge mouth which can open to 180 degrees are some of the most powerful weapons in all of nature in reality encounters between buffalo and hippos are very rare since they do not compete for food or territory and very few buffaloes are stupid enough to bother a hippo for any reason in some cases a single angry hippo has been known to clear 300 thirsty buffalo from his watering hole just because he didn't want to share and in this one video a brave or maybe crazy buffalo tries to stand up to a hippo alone with only one result that buffalo running for his life as soon as the hippo makes a move number six squirrel versus mink the word mink is pretty much the ultimate four letter word among a lot of small mammals as well as fish and birds which form the main part of this wily predator's diet these black-coated animals are excellent hunters who normally live along riverbanks although they have long been farmed by humans for their coats animal welfare has seen a reduction in this industry recently a new form of hunting called minkinry has been developed where trained minks work with dogs to root out and kill rats on farms and in other places where the rats might be causing problems it's uncommon for mink to run into squirrels and a full-grown squirrel would prove a challenge for a mink to overcome but in this video it doesn't seem to be stopping this one from trying the two fur balls roll around and it seems the nut-loving squirrel is more than able to hold his own against his carnivorous enemy before finally seeing the opportunity to make an escape back up into the trees number five tarantula vs scorpion today we will find out what will happen if the tarantula spider meets his scorpion this is a battle for the aegis and featuring two of the most terrifying creatures to grace our planet the tarantula and the scorpion there are of course a huge number and variety of tarantulas and scorpions in the world so any encounter would clearly depend on a range of factors including size strength speed and lethality of venom being more venomous the scorpion might seem to have the advantage in this clash but it's not so simple first as a general rule the bigger the scorpion the less venomous it is with the most dangerous scorpions among the tiniest but against a huge tarantula a small scorpion would likely be overwhelmed by the sheer size disparity before having the opportunity to strike furthermore tarantulas seem to have a reasonable immunity to the venom of their fellow arachnids and even a severe scorpion sting will only temporarily disable a tarantula before it is able to recover and continue the fight still this doesn't make for an easy fight for the big spider and a scorpion has a well-deserved reputation as a badass creature it's a tough call but i'm calling this one for the spider number four shark versus octopus so a kind of floppy looking gangly thing with a whole bunch of legs versus a razor-toothed killing machine sounds like an easy one right well actually as staff at the seattle aquarium found out the answer to this one was a real surprise staff and marine experts took a lot of factors into consideration before deciding to house a pacific giant octopus in a tank with a few spiny dogfish sharks tiny dogfish may not be great whites but these 3 feet long sharks are no slouches and can hunt like well like a shark it was decided that the giant octopus would be able to defend itself and that the workout given to him by curious sharks would be good for both mind and body as the octopus one of the largest species known to man used its considerable brains to outwit the sharks however when the aquarium staff started finding the dead bodies of dog sharks floating in the tank they knew something fishy was up after installing a camera to observe the tank they discovered who the culprit was the giant octopus had been capturing and strangling the sharks to death then discarding the bodies needless to say they have their own tanks now much to the relief of the sharks number three badger vs fox we're not talking honey badgers this time this is the regular old badger not the insane killing machine we met earlier in europe the badger and the fox are far from enemies and in fact might be described as the best of friends they even share a den which the badgers keep neat and tidy while the foxes bring back scavenged food which they share with their badger roomies in america fox and badger relations are not quite so sweet and civilized as in europe kinda like a lot of things right anyway the american badger is no friend of the fox and these more aggressive badgers will tunnel into foxtends and prey upon the fox cubs foxes live in tight-knit family groups and will defend as a team if threatened but badgers are smart and know how to attack when the male foxes are out looking for food leaving only these smaller vixens to defend the den usually more than the fox will be capable of against the tenacious and aggressive badger with its sharp teeth and low center of gravity this round goes to the badger number 2 crocodile vs wild boar well as you can probably guess and also see from this video crocodile vs wild boar isn't really much of a fight in fact this fight lasts for about two seconds the time it takes for this massive croc to go from silently lurking in the water doing its best to resemble a piece of floating wood to clamping its huge jaws onto the head of the wild boar crushing its skull like a honeydew melon before dragging it back out into the water crocodiles sometimes perform something called a death roll when they tackle larger prey spinning the victim around and around in the water until it drowns but krakier clearly doesn't need to bother with that the poor little pig standing literally no chance between the huge jaws the croc does however decide to tenderize his bacon and chops a little by slamming the dead pig into the water with a truly ferocious turn of the head after this he has a little slice of pork which tore off in its teeth before then dredging up the body and getting it all down into his gullet for a tasty meal it is possible by some freak occurrence that a wild boar could beat a crocodile in a fight no not a chance this one goes to the mighty croc every time number one lion vs tiger maybe the ultimate who would win question is who would win in a fight lion or tiger the two big cats are the most ferocious and famous predators on land and people have debated for centuries about which would win in a fight once when both cats were numerous their territories would have crossed over and encounters were probably relatively common nowadays they largely live on completely different continents although india does have breeds of both lions and tigers they do not currently share a habitat on paper things look better for the tiger it's a bigger animal for a start but the lion although smaller and weaker has some qualities that might give it an edge first of all the tiger is a stealth hunter and has a bigger brain while lions tend to hunt cooperatively a tiger might be smart enough to know when to back down from a fight it doesn't need to win whereas a lion is celebrated throughout the world for its incredible courage and heart possessing a never say die attitude on top of that male lions have a mane which protects their necks from attacks as well as a massive knot of muscle over the shoulders giving them great strength in their forelegs unfortunately the only evidence we have comes from rundown zoos like the one in this video where a lion either purposefully hobbled or accidentally injured still faces up to a healthy tiger and holds its own lions are used to rough play and fighting for dominance but not always necessarily to kill so while a tiger might have the smarts to back down some of the time if it goes all in then it won't be holding back in the days of the roman coliseum this was a common spectacle and historical records suggest the tiger was the smart bet so we have to give this one to the tiger but only just which of these ferocious creatures impressed you the most the tiger the tarantula the muscovy duck what animal would you want to see fighting in the wild let us know in the comments below also check out our other cool stuff showing up on screen right now see you next time you
