Oh boy an updated list, I haven't seen one of these in a while can't wait!
14 - Wisteria, no mention of size. Not a tall tree. Pretty tho.
12 - A fucking Christmas tree. It's not even alive.
Midroll to subscribe.
8 - A tree that isn't even confirmed to exist.
6 - "at a height of 460 feet", that being it's elevation, not it's height which is 309 feet. Weird they'd give it's elevation rather than actual height. They didn't do that for any other trees.
4 - A tree house. That's all that needs to be said. It burned down sadly.
3 - Rainbow Eucalyptus. It's on the list because it looks neat.
And Hyperion of course - because leaving out the tallest tree in the world would be sacrilege honestly. Oh but they botched the height of 179,1 (also a comma, so, obviously not an American creator) instead of the widely agreed upon 115.92m (380.31ft).
But yeah - no General Sherman, the literal largest by volume tree on Earth? No Lost Monarch the runner up? No Arbol del Tule - the widest tree in the world?
I don't get this video's obsession with trees from Oceania (Australia/NZ) either - or ragging on Australian logging. They did like, more than a few times.
Like seriously, the list was garbage, but it was well made. This reminds me of why almost all 'top [whatever arbitrary number] lists' suck.
How do you measure volume in square feet?

Regarding the location of the #1 tallest tree Hyperion - "96% of the surrounding area of which has been logged of its original coast redwood growth." I wonder how big the largest were when they were logged and it was redwood everywhere.
When I saw Tane Mahuta in NZ, my travel partner and I were the only two visitors at the time. Turning a corner, my attention was drawn to a small sign, which I walked over to read. When I looked up the tree was right in front of me and I literally gasped. It was somewhat scary to see something as wide as a small house in the middle of the Forrest and it caught me off guard.
