I always thought Einstein failed his entrance exam for Zurich Polytechnic. Turns out that's true.
Did he freeze at the end? Because that is another misconception as well. Even though outer space is really cold (a few Kelvin), the near vacuum is a very good isolater, pretty much negating all heat conduction and convection. The only non-negligible heat transfer is radiation, which is much slower. You'd actually heat up if you were anywhere close to the sun. Ever felt the scorching sunrays on a hot day? Imagine that with no ozone layer, or any atmosphere at all.
