hey folks it's dom with florida deer here in beautiful wintery florida right now attempt outside right now 73 with about 40 something percent humidity so it's a beautiful day to do some tractor work and i'm about to head down to a neighbor's house to do some stump grinding and but before i did that i wanted to go over the upgrades i've done so far and what i thought about these upgrades and maybe this video will help you in deciding if you're on the fence with one of these upgrades or not to to you know pull the trigger or to not pull the trigger on these things so almost start from front to back this is not the order i got these upgrades in but it's the order i'm going to take you from front to back tractor to keep track of uh you know the video here so the first one was the for on the tooth bar i just put it on a week or two ago the fit and finish on it and the installation was super easy i have not gotten into any major projects yet with it so i really can't comment on its usefulness i think it'll be useful but we'll have to see for later videos i have used these bolt-on hooks that i got from titan attachments i think plenty of other places sell them too i know a lot of the guys on the forum and the web page have ones from ken's bolt-on and then i also have just recently got this right here which is the relief valve dipstick for the front axle a number of the guys had mentioned about axle leaks and then a couple other guys mentioned that the pressure builds in there up up in there pretty good as you work the front end as you have the you know four wheel drive running or you got the loader going and stuff like that so one time i did um pop that thing off after some serious tractor work and sure enough there was a fairly large amount of pressure that came shooting out of there and stuff no liquid came shooting out of there and i don't have any actual leaks yet so i figured hey why don't i get one of those things before that happens so i did get that i've been on the fence for these for a while but then i did a couple of trailering videos and several of the guys seemed to home in on how i had the tractor strapped down and i had it around the bucket and around the rear frame so it was strap on metal so what i did uh what i decided to do was get these and like i said i've been on the fence but that those videos are the response to those videos kind of push me to get these and um and also i'll kind of cheat and go to the back here i also got that clevis hitch to run a one of the straps through there um it doesn't hook i mean i guess i could hook it but i only have one point of contact in the back so far and i'll get into that in another video but so that was uh these weren't terribly expensive you can get these with with uh steps on them and all sorts of other things uh muds custom has a bunch of them there's probably some other places that carry them too but i'll post the link that i've done another upgrade was replacing the sorry coupler caps that deer has when when you get the tractor these are a lot thicker and more substantial than the ones they have and they were oddly enough the same colors that i'm used to they had replaced i think the gray and the green with a blue and a red well as the original stock ones on the 10 23 and 10 25. um and that wasn't a big deal but on my 445 i was used to this color scheme black gray green and yellow so anyway that's not that big a deal but another upgrade was the 4x4 shifter so that on the stock one as most of you know it's way down here so you have to bend over and it's just kind of an awkward stretch this one right now just right here and i did move the sticker up and seem to have plenty of sticky on it so i decided to move that up and it does clear this the picture on his website looks like it bumps into the this um lockout for the uh for the loader valve but as you can see there's plenty of just distance when it's pulled out and when it's pushed in so that's not an issue it doesn't really bump the leg it's low enough to where your legs you know going over here and so you can just do that maybe if you were getting on and off the tractor then maybe it would be an issue but i don't think so so another one that i got from the same guy was this pedal on the traction log and i mean it seems like a simple thing this 4x4 lever and this pedal seemed to be things that you probably should have thought of themselves for some reason did not so these were upgrades i definitely liked trying to get that little sort of you know piece of uh small pipe that sticks out there uh with your foot and it's sort of metal so it's slippery is not ideal this big fat pad with sort of the velcro limited slip stuff on it works really good and those that i have worked out with a number of times and it works fantastic um another one was the addition of these lights i don't use i just had these lights left over from another project and had never used them on the other project so i just decided to throw them up here and i just got a pigtail from the the extra sweat extra feed that was back here uh from the 10 25s there's a there was a spare one because it was this one was a 1023 and then also the work light right there added that as well i thought if i'm looking trying to hook something up back here or i'm trying to figure out what's behind me you know when it's dark then it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a work light so i kind of got those as well and then one of the biggest upgrades was this right here this is the rear third selective control valve and it operates this hydraulic top link which for stump grinding tilling bush hogging all works really well i've used it with the box blade as well it's just a really good thing to have not only that but when you're hooking stuff up it's easier to hook stuff up with these i had a quick hitch once i didn't really like it and i've never really had an issue hooking up three-point equipment so i just i ended up selling it and just using this and the top link really does well with that and then if you need to clean stuff out underneath if something gets stuck like on a tiller or a box or a bush hog or something it's easy to tilt that thing all the way up and then you can get under there without having to get on your back and get under you know a 300 400 pound implement to clean it out when you're jerking on it and stuff like that trying to get sticks or rocks out or whatever seems kind of like an unsafe thing and then the other thing i got was a second toolbox i mean this kind of seems like uh something sort of obvious but um but it was cheap or reasonably cheap and i know a lot of guys do their own custom things and the idea was to find something that i could you know that would be similar size just so i could put stuff in because this you know one toolbox is just not enough i mean these aren't bad size tool boxes but um you know they're not huge either so having a second one was a big help and then the lights i i had actually went almost a whole year without taking off my lights and then ended up you know taking them off in one project i was doing at a customer's house so i just replaced it with these i think these things were like 20 bucks i put magnets on them so then if they get hit they can just fall off or if i need to you know rotate them one way or the other um it works pretty good haven't taken them out or anything there's probably different ways to do the light bar thing but these seem to work pretty well and uh that wraps pretty much wraps up most of the upgrades that i've done um i don't plan on doing a whole lot more i may do some mirrors at some point in time although i really haven't i know a lot of guys like to do those things but i haven't really had an issue with needing to do that i don't think can't think of anything else that is pretty much it well anyways i appreciate you watching like i said i will put all the links to all these items as much as i can find them in the uh description below and if you like this video please hit the like button and please subscribe too that'll help the channel out as well have
