welcome to it came from a box this is Sergio am and on this 15th Nintendo switch hauled episode we're taking a look at apito's latest and greatest controller genki's impossibly tiny Dock and new earbuds a jumbo screen upgrade and much more but because the holidays are almost here we're also giving away some of these at the end so stick around [Music] [Music] last year we checked out the fixture S1 an adjustable grip that lets you play the switch with a Pro Controller in handheld mode it's a simple concept that truly enhances the way you play well now fixture gaming is back with an updated version of the S1 for the original switch and their new S2 for the switch OLED as for what's new first on the console rail we now have two soft felt pads instead of the rubber ones which could leave scuff marks on the console and second they smoothed out the edge of the claw to help prevent any marks that aside it works the same as before now because the rail is perfectly sized to fit the original switch the S1 didn't fit the OLED model which was slightly larger so that is where the S2 comes in with the only difference being that size to attach everything you first Glide the console into this top rail and evenly Glide it until it hits the end next you insert the Pro Controller from the front into this huge claw and snap the rest in it's still an aggressive but very secure cure fit and the rounded edges help avoid any scuffs on here thanks to this rail mount design we still have access to all our buttons Vents and ports then we have those awesome friction hinges that you can adjust on the Fly and they stay in place at any angle they're so simple yet so magical and yes very secure with the screen balanced the Pro Controller does add a bit of weight but its ergonomics feel way better than those on the joy cons even with grips attached finally there's a few other benefits to this setup first underneath we have this flat rubber bottom so you can remove the controller and use it in tabletop mode then because it doesn't block any of the i o it makes it so you can charge and play next because the joy-cons aren't attached and charging you do save a bit of battery life and we still have access to motion controls so as someone who mainly plays the switch in handheld mode this is by far our favorite way to enhance that experience and it makes it very difficult to go back to those flat joy-cons before we continue this video is brought to you by our friends over at nordvpn what you do on the Internet is your business and yours alone but did you know that here in the states your internet provider your ISP can see and track everything you do online even if you're in Incognito or privacy mode but it gets worse because they can legally sell that data with nordvpn you can safely and privately browse the internet by rerouting your IP address so it appears as if you're in another location this way your ISP sees a stream of encrypted traffic and everyone else sees you connecting from say the UK they've got apps for every major platform out there with over 5 500 servers in 59 countries to choose from and all while maintaining a great connection thanks to their Nord links protocol which makes them the fastest VPN on the market also with nordvpn you can securely use open wi-fi connections access geoblock content it's got thread protection that blocks intrusive ads and web trackers and much more so head over to nordvpn.com it came from a box or click the link in the description below to get an additional four months for free on a two-year plan so you can protect yourself and your data online with nordvpn it's risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee and I've been using it personally for years which is why I can easily recommend it so if you want to support what we do here please give them a try because they support us have you ever played the switch and thought this screen is too small me neither but regardless this is the Orion by upswitch it's a portable monitor with a built-in Nintendo switch Dock and rails for the joy-cons looks ridiculous but that's what we're all about here first thing the build quality is okay it's very Hollow and plasticky it comes with two optional joy-con grips that are a pain to install at the top we have clunky buttons for power volume and select on this side we have a 3.5 millimeter audio jack on the other an HDMI port so yes you can use this monitor with other devices and because it doesn't have a built-in battery we have a USBC Port so you can power it with either an AC adapter or power bank back here we have the two speakers that get pretty loud but they're not the highest quality [Music] next down here we have a large kickstand similar to the OG switch with rubber feet underneath to keep it in place and then we have the docking compartment for the switch with cutouts for the vents the console slides in facing inward so you're going to want a screen protector to avoid scratches on top of it we have these raggedy straps with a rubber pad underneath that you can attach a power bank to as long as it's the right size the screen is an 11.6 inch IPS anti-glare display but compared to the OLED switch the image looks washed out and lacks sharpness for some reason they're very secretive about specs but by the looks of it it seems to be 720p and for the most part it feels like 60 hertz now although it's used in handheld it works like TV mode so you got to turn on the Monitor and then turn on the switch same for turning it off in use it looks odd and the image quality is actually pretty acceptable and overall it's actually really fun having this in your face big screen with loud volume does make games feel more epic and immersive the grips are comfortable but you can definitely feel the weight down the middle especially with a power bank attached so you're going to want to lean it against something or you can pop out the kickstand disconnect the joy cons and play in tabletop mode with your friends so it's an odd yet fun idea but considering it costs as much as an original switch it's difficult to recommend I wish it was full HD thinner with a built-in battery because then Not only would it work better with the switch but it makes for a solid portable monitor to use with your other devices this is 8-bit does new and highly anticipated ultimate Bluetooth controller in the Box you get your paperwork a usb-a to USBC charging cable for the included charging dock with 8bit Dell's USB 2.4 gigahertz adapter inside and the controller itself it's pretty much on par with the sn30 Pro 2 but in this new form factor and it can now wake the switch with a shake quirky way of doing it but I love the idea of shake it to wake it it's available in white and black the design is very safe and generic love it or hate it they've abandoned the Retro inspired look for this modern rounded design but the build quality is still top notch in hand it feels great first thing I noticed are the very textured grips on the back while we're here we've got two remappable paddle buttons that work well and a switch to change between Bluetooth or 2.4 gigahertz up top we have small but thick shoulder buttons same for the triggers which have a long travel distance and they are analog but only work in digital for the switch on the front we have glossy face buttons with a good firmness to them in the center we have buttons for start select home capture and one for your profiles the thumbsticks are great very grippy with smooth motion and they click in just fine but this time around the layout is asymmetrical which I prefer and we have drift resistant hall effect sticks similar to the ones on the King Kong 2 Pro we last featured which use a magnetic contactless sensor that avoids that wear and tear which gives you drift so it's compatible with the switch and PC it's wireless connects via Bluetooth 5.0 or 2.4 gigahertz with the included USB adapter and you can also use it wired it's got intense but adjustable Rumble accurate motion controls a turbo function that you first have to assign and it's got a 22 hour rechargeable battery that you can juice up with either the USBC Port up top or on the included multi-functional dock the controller drops right in and attaches to the contact pins to charge when moved it turns on and it also houses that 2.4 gigahertz adapter that you can use in or out of the dock finally as with all their new controllers you can customize just about everything with their Ultimate Software you can remap the inputs and assign turbo change the Dead Zone on the thumbsticks with swap options same for the triggers adjust the strength of the two vibration Motors create detailed macros that you can then assign to a button and you can then save all that to three profiles that you can switch between via that button on the front finally there are two issues one there's no NFC for amiibo which isn't a big deal you can just use the joy cons for that and two unlike most of their other controllers this one's only compatible with the switch and windows but there is a similar option without Bluetooth that supports Windows and Android a bit confusing so make sure you get the right one so it may not be the best looking controller nor does it have the most exciting name but it's priced the same as the official Pro controller with much more features that alone makes it an no-brainer it's easily one of the best controllers you can get for the switch a while ago we checked out genki's covert dock which is one of the best portable docks out there and now they're back with a somehow even smaller version this is their latest covert dock Mini In The Box you get paperwork a very nice braided USBC cable with one angled end for the switch and an itty bitty dock it comes in white and black to match the switch OLED the build quality is Top Notch and it's somehow 20 times smaller than the original which is insane and the foldable prongs only add to that portability really I have no idea how they did this I don't know the science I don't know the Alchemy but it's mind-blowing on it we have an indicator led up top then HDMI out and a USBC Port below for both data and power because it also works as a 20 watt charger you use it the same way as the official dock you just hook up your cables and devices plug it in and you're good to go the covert doc mini can output up to 4K at 30 Hertz even though the switch is capped at 1080p but that's because you can use it with other devices such as your phone tablet laptop and even the steam deck so if you're looking for a dock alternative that you can toss in your Nintendo switch travel kit it doesn't get any better than with genki's covert doc Mini 6 on the joy cons aren't the most durable so for years now we've been using these generic ones that come bundled in with cases to keep them protected nothing fancy but there's hundreds out there to choose from to suit your personality so folks we've got cheese thumb grips these are from kodo it comes with two sets of what looks like American and swiss cheese sadly with no scent attaching them is sort of a pain you got to be forceful and then you need to make sure they're centered correctly in use they've got this smooth almost powdery feel to them I wish they were a bit grippier but that rounded dip in those holes do help keep your thumbs in place overall they look incredible and work well but they're not built for performance they're more of a way to show off your coolness these are the kind I can easily take to an office for a big fancy meeting and you know let people know how cool I am so if you're cool as well then pick up some cheese thumb grips we're big fans of hori split pad Pro which for those who don't know is made up of two gamepads that give handheld mode a full-size controller upgrade now when hori announced the new split pad Pro compact I was hoping they would include the previous missing features but sadly that's not the case it costs the same as the original and also functions just about the same but this time around it's got a thinner form factor that feels good in hand although I wish it was a bit wider in the palm and it's available in fancy Dancy colors with new designs coming soon quick look around we've got smaller and grippier thumbsticks the same decent rounded d-pad smaller face buttons the shoulders and triggers are shrunk down the back buttons are now low profile and clicky and instead of soft rubber all the other buttons are now a rigid plastic it also has the same features as before that being the textured grips remappable back buttons and turbo function per pad the stand on the back to protect the triggers when laying flat and it's also dot compatible but same as before they're not powered so they only work when attached in handheld mode there's no Rumble and more importantly no motion controls so bye bye Splatoon 3. overall they look great they're smaller than the original yet bigger and more ergonomic than the joy-cons but their exclusivity to handheld mode and the lack of motion controls in this latest version just feels like a missed opportunity if they can fix that I think we'd have the true joy-con Alternatives we've all been waiting for Mumba makers are some of the OG protective switch cases is back with a new Swiss army knife looking keychain game card case it's available in three colors but we went with this transparent one so you can see the games inside the design is similar to what you see on their cases it's slick and Industrial and it's very well made it comes with a carabiner on the side so you can easily attach it to your bag and then we have these four pop-out blades that hold the game cards they all have a lip up top so it's easy to eject they work very smoothly and when they're all inside they sort of lock in place each blade holds three games and together we have a total of 12 slots the game cards pop right in and stay very securely in place due to these Clips off the side and they easily pop out thanks to this cutout on the back so if you want a compact way to securely store your games that you can then attach to a bag to take wherever you go check out mumba's game card case Genki is back with another successful Kickstarter product that raised over 822 thousand dollars from four thousand plus backers these are waveform they're pricey but feature-packed bluetooth earbuds that can simultaneously stream audio from two devices such as the switch and your phone so you can hear your gameplay and juggle voice chat at the same time they come in this plasticky smart case that looks like something Tony Stark would design and like others guess it charges the earbuds but it's also a Bluetooth receiver along with a few other features inside we have earbuds that look like jet engines the attached tips are medium sized but they also include more in the box for a total of nine sets in different shapes and materials to choose from in use with the medium ear tips the fit is solid with a good seal they're using the latest Bluetooth 5.3 chipset with aptx adaptive which gives you high quality audio with the least amount of delay perfect for fast-paced games that require precise in out of the box they sound great the audio quality feels almost on par with our Google buds Pro the sound is very crisp with bright highs and in game that helps you hear all those details such as footsteps and item pickups the feature list is jam-packed both the case and earbuds have a total of 36 hours of battery life they've got decent noise cancellation with a transparency option and their mics work fine but they're not the best glue the sheet to the dark blue background glue the sheet to the dark blue background there's much more to them but I want to focus on Dual stream to stream two devices at the same time you first have to connect the case with the included cables to one device the case then converts that audio to aptx Adaptive and broadcast that dual stream Bluetooth signal that you can connect to on your second device now you can hear your in-game audio while listening to music or using Discord for voice chat on your phone with the least amount of delay it works with any console and outside of games you can juggle the audio of all sorts of devices it's a simple concept that's really geared towards multitaskers that juggle media so no the build quality is not as premium as I'd like the mics could be better and there's definitely a learning curve but that's easily forgiven considering they have a huge list of useful features they perform well with solid audio quality and dual stream makes them one of the best options for both gaming and multitaskers alike this is the rugged armor Pro carrying case by Spigen makers are some of the fanciest but most durable phone cases out there like all their stuff it's really well made with a lot of attention to detail its hard shell coated with a soft touch texture with this stylish design to it up top we have premium zippers and a metal latch for the included wrist strap inside you've got a zippered mesh compartment for things like the AC adapter extra Joy cons and other accessories below that we've got a screen protecting flap with 10 elastic game card slots and then we have the compartment for the switch with an elastic strap down the middle to hold it in place but it also has an air tag slot so you can hopefully track it down in case you lose it now in here on the sides and Corners we have inlaid cushioning to mitigate shocks when it bumps around and there's enough space for the switch with a protective case attached when it comes to premium carrying cases this is easily one of the best we've checked out it's got everything you need to securely take the console along with some accessories on the go there's tons of protective cases for the switch but this next one has a small addition that makes it perfect to travel with this is the unicorn beetle pro forma Case by subcase it's available in black and this transparent Frost version It's Made of a shock absorbent TPU and this techy looking design with carbon fiber details throughout and everything looks and feels premium Now While most others just protect the back this one comes with a front cover that also protects the screen and joy-cons on it you have five handy game card slots that Clips shut and this cover attaches via these gaps on both sides when removed those along with the ones on the back make for a really nice grip the switch pops right in with a perfect fit and we still have access to the buttons speakers Vents and ports including the slots below because yes this case is dock compatible as for protection with the front cover attached most of the console is safe except for the shoulder and Trigger buttons but that's so you can easily remove the joycon when docked with so many cases on the market the unicorn beetle pro forma case is unique not just in name but because it also protects the screen so you can safely take the switch along with a few games on the go and that is why we consider it one of the best out there this next one we recently featured and had this to say about if you're looking to take a full featured controller along with the switch on the go but don't have a lot of room check out the Tiny But Mighty Lite 2 by 8-bit doe for those new to it it pretty much takes all the core parts of a controller and crams them in this thin rectangular pad first the basics it's available in turquoise and this pink the build quality is top-notch all around clearly it's not the most ergonomic design but it's also not that uncomfortable it's wireless with an 18 hour battery that charges via USBC and like most other controllers it's compatible with PC and Android via this switch on the front so to keep to this size just about everything on here is obviously smaller than the average controller up top we have very thin clicky shoulder buttons then we have slightly larger digital triggers to rest your fingers on over on the front the phase buttons are tiny and close together which they spaced them out a bit more but they work just fine then we have flat minus plus capture and home buttons which helps avoid accidental inputs the d-pad is Tiny with a nice curve it's a bit loose and mushy no missed inputs on RN though but it is a bit more difficult to use at this size finally this time around we now have two joy-con size analog sticks that work well but the movement does feel a bit more restricted than we're used to now in here we actually have a tiny Rumble motor that you can feel at the center of the GamePad it's not that strong but it's trying its best and it's it's very cute finally they even managed to create motion controls in here which works really well and that makes it compatible with a ton of additional games so although I do wish some of the buttons use the space a little better overall it's a quirky Ultra portable Gamepad that makes some compromises but doesn't sacrifice the core features you need for most games that's why it's the best in its class portable class we sort of broke the rules here a little bit that's another 11 down but now I'd love to hear what you think of them down in the comments now being
