11 Filmmaking Shot Ideas - Insta360 One RS 1” 360 Edition

[Music] in this video we're going to use insta360s one rs one-inch 360 edition camera to do 11 filmmaking camera moves and if you want to get one of these cameras for yourself please support my channel by using the affiliate link in this video's description all right let's go ahead and get started [Music] this is the insta360 extended edition selfie stick which i used for most of the shots in this video and for this first shot i decided to add some extra reach with the manfrotto boom extension pole i started off here with the 360 camera inside this food stand then i pulled back rising up as i walked away then in post i added some spin to create a camera move that would be nearly impossible with a gimbal or a drone but here's the real magic of 360 cameras this is the same exact take with a different camera move applied in post you can just keep revising your camera moves over and over and over [Music] here's a shot where i tried to blend myself into the crowd i extended my selfie stick and held it straight above me while i walked the selfie stick gets erased automatically by insta360 software and it looks a lot like a drone shot and here's another tank with some added rotation this is a great type of shot to do in places that don't allow drones [Music] here's an easy way to get a shot of yourself from the back of a boat just rest the selfie stick under your arms and hang out like normal [Music] i grabbed this shot here in literally 30 seconds as i was leaving the ferry i just extended the stick started low and did a rise up while i walked away then in post i keyframed the tilt parameter and this was the result [Music] for this shot i pulled the selfie stick through the window of a car to follow my actor as he got out it would be really hard to do this kind of shot with a gimbal or a drone because of the tight space the close proximity to the actor and the precise framing [Music] we all know that cats are naturally curious so i tried waving the 360 camera in front of them to get their attention and then slowly moving the camera back as they walked toward it and that resulted in these cool tracking shots [Music] running with a 360 camera is way easier than with a gimbal because the 360 camera is so lightweight for the best stability i recommend using a thicker monopod instead of a regular selfie stick and avoiding extending the monopod too far then in post you can either go for a smooth and steady look like this or you can add camera shake for a handheld feeling [Music] and unlike real camera shake you can fine tune the look to get it exactly the way you want and you never have to worry about adding too much camera shake and showing the edges of the frame because there aren't any edges it's 360. here's a shot that would be really difficult or dangerous with any other camera basically i'm doing a windmill kind of movement moving the camera over the actor's head then in post i animated the framing to keep him in the center adding some rotation turns us into a really cool complex kind of movement for this shot i used a bundle of laundry to hide the seam of the invisible selfie stick then i had my actor film himself as he removed the laundry from the dryer then in post i animated the roll and the field of view to create this tunneling effect [Music] and here's a variation that's even crazier [Music] this is a shot that starts low tracks backward and rises up high [Music] the result is kind of like a gimbal and a drone all in one [Music] [Music] and finally here is a shot that really takes advantage of the tiny size of the 360 camera i just smoothly move the camera through the barbed wire fence and then walk backward for a drone-like fly away [Music] okay hope you got lots of inspiration from this video please like and subscribe and thank you to insta360 for sponsoring me and check the video description if you want to get an insta360 one rs one-inch 360 edition camera for yourself
