here at joy i choose to be [Music] thank you father we thank you father we thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness so we come into this house this morning we come in an attitude of humility we come with receptive hearts we come with hungry hearts we come with hearts that are open to receive because james says that if we receive we come with teachable hearts of meekness and humility that you said that we would receive the word and that word would have the ability to save our souls [Music] so we come here this morning with a position of ever learning ever becoming like jesus and we lay everything down at your feet we lay every pressure we lay every disappointment we lay every mistake we lay everything that may have hindered us we and we lay our our we we lay everything down at your feet today we make you lord of our lives today that that we would lay everything down at your feet just like jesus did jesus said it's him only it's him only that i worship it's him only that i serve that you are the only one that we worship the one true living god we lay everything down at your feet thank you father thank you lord for the altar as hebrew tells us that jesus is the altar that we have an altar we come to that altar today thank you father now before we go forward i you know wednesday night eric was ministering and he preached a great message about the anointing and and there was something he said towards the end there before he ministered to people and he said and he and the lord he had a couple of words and just the the presence of god was so strong in this place wednesday night and and he made a statement and he said if you want a fresh touch from god just come up here and and i'm sitting there and and i'm standing i'm not so i was standing in and i and i at first and the lord was why are you going right why aren't you going up there i'm like well i'm the pastor you know it's just the thought he goes and he goes you like ice cream right i'm like i like ice cream do you like ice cream i mean think about that think about that phrase do you want a fresh touch from god and and i was just standing there i'm like i want ice cream why wouldn't i want a fresh touch from god and i'm saying that because so often there is this this we don't realize it but there is a there can be a bondage bondage in our hearts and keeping us from receiving everything that god wants us to receive because of what we think other people might think [Music] and it's like oh if i go to the altar then there must be something wrong with me no maybe it's something right with you there's no it's nobody's business why you might come to the altar or it's it's no one it's it's just to understand that that this altar here you can have you can make an altar at your bedside you can make an altar in your car you can make this when we talk about church and coming to the altar those things this needs to be a place of freedom because ultimately i i don't want any hindrances from receiving all that god has for me how about you amen well turn to someone get them give them a high five tell my goodness to see them this morning thank you worship team right here at your feet thank you father hey dave you all doing good this morning hallelujah good to be in the house of the lord and what a beautiful song that uh that was uh cassie wrote that um during this series of altars and definitely a fitting song i believe for what we're gonna talk about this morning and we don't really discuss necessarily what hey what i'm preaching or what they're singing and all kinds of it always just flows together you know and uh and because there's there's an assignment on every service you know uh no matter what service it is there's an assignment on it whether it's a wednesday night it's a it's a small group or whatever there's a particular assignment for that service and there's an assignment for this service and sometimes there's a different assignment in the first service than there is in the second service and and so it's just always being open to receive what god has for you and and that and that's one thing that we constantly have to learn is just being teachable teachable in every area of our lives teachable and i tell you when you're teachable god can take you amazing places amen if you have your bibles turn to habakkuk habakkuk chapter 3. if you don't know where habakkuk is go to matthew and turn left 4. four chapters that way how i remember memorize the last the last four books of the bible was it's h z h z m h c h c m that's anyway zephaniah zechariah anyway let's start over do you find a habit last week i talked to well i've been talking about altars for a number of weeks and last week we talked about the fire of god and we talked about how how in the old testament when they went to the altar and they were in the temple that god directed and gave instructions to you know moses for him to tell aaron and he said i want you to take the animals and i want you to i want you to place them on the altar and then it's going to catch on fire and then after that it's up to you to keep the fire burning and it said that the in the altar would ever be burning upon the altar and and so the the priests were in charge of not letting that fire go out but you know what the fire didn't start by man god started that fire in leviticus 9 it said they laid the sacrifices in order the way they needed to they went in they praised god and the fire of god fell and consumed the and consumed the sacrifice and from then on out it was the priest's job to keep that fire burning it's just like you and i when we make jesus the lord lord of our life the holy spirit breathes into us and makes us a new creation after that you know the the baptism of the holy spirit comes into our lives and what happens is is you and i are the ones that are to keep that fire ever burning so your fire whether it's burning or not burning is not up to god it's up to you what are you doing with your fire since you made jesus the lord of your life and so this is so important to for for us to understand as it pertains to alters and you know that i go back from the old testament the new testament i believe the old testament is the type and shadow and picture of the new testament romans tells us that the things that were written before time for our learning that we might have confidence and hope in the scriptures so i believe the whole word of god is inspired and it's something that we can learn and grow from so we talked about this fire in our lives and how it consumes things now we're going to take this in another direction dealing with fire this morning but so let's look in habakkuk chapter 3. i'm going to read the amplified verse let's see verse 3 it says god approaching from sinai came from to man which represents edom and the holy one from mount peran in the sinai region so put selah there because it means you need to think about this it's just a greek word that means stop and think about it now if we really stop and think about this when god showed up on mount sinai great things happened when god showed up on mount sinai we see things that happen through history that happened in abraham we see we see some people say that that's where actually noah was when he made a covenant with god when he got off the ark there are certain histories that that confirms us a lot of great things happen on this mount sinai and here it says and god is approaching from that place so wait a minute you need to think about this because when god shows up things are never the same then it says this in the amplified it says his glory covered the heavens and the earth was full of his praise so what happened when he showed up in mount sinai was the glory that was in heaven was now on the earth invisible form on a mountain and it said what what brought that out was also it was full of praise and then it says this and his brightness was like the sunlight rays stream from his hand and there in sun like splendor was the hiding place of his power get a picture of this god he says god is approaching from outside i mean he here he is god he is the one who is fire it describes him as fire from the loins up and the loins down it says his eyes blaze like fire you know and so the solid descriptions on it describes it but i really believe the fire is the glory of god it's it's the it's not something that god has it's something that he is it's just like that god doesn't have love he is love god doesn't have fire he is fire and here and it says the brightness of it is he has rays coming out of his hands and there is the hiding place of his power wow you see so if i if i'm seeking after god's face then what happens he shows up with his hands and what are in his hands the brightness where is the hiding place of his power the fire of god it's important for us to understand this as i go forward this morning and going back and and thinking about those scriptures in leviticus and we're not going to read them for the sake of time you can turn to exodus chapter 19. exodus chapter 19. exodus chapter 19. thank you father about this sacrifice as i talked about just a moment ago in leviticus i didn't kind of got ahead of myself now the sacrifice had to be laid on the altar and when the sacrifice was laid on the altar then the fire of god fell i was um yesterday i had been studying along these lines and and the holy spirit prompted me to pull out something that someone in the church had sent me probably maybe five or six years ago don't know it didn't have a date on it but he had xerox some copies of something from up from a book and and the lord said i want you to pull that out and i want you to read a couple of things from it and and so as i got reading it and i was looking looking at what it said and made this statement it was a book that was written 20 21 years ago it was a real popular book at that time and it was a book written by tommy tenney and it was called god chasers anyone ever read that book and he makes a statement in that book and he says this he says fire doesn't fall on empty altars you see god's fire didn't show up first the sacrifice showed up first and so often we're wanting god to show up in our lives but yet all he's working with is an empty altar see the fire of god shows up doesn't show up on empty altars the fire of god shows up on altars that have a sacrifice and for you and i we know what that sacrifice is we present ourselves as living sacrifices holy and acceptable unto him which is a reasonable service the sacrifice there's something about this fire that moses was captivated by this it was captivated in this in in in that aspect of the of the sacrifice it was he was captivated throughout his his life about this something this aspect of fire and we see it in several instances in exodus chapter 19 verse 16. and it says and it came to pass on the third day in the morning that there was thunders and lightnings now this isn't el nino coming through i mean this isn't this isn't meteorology this is this is this is something beyond natural weather here and it says there's thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud upon the mount and the voice of the trumpet exceedingly exceeding loud so that all the people that were in the camp trembled and moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with god and they stood at the farther part of the mount they didn't want to get too close and mount sinai and i was all together on on a smoke because the lord descended upon it in fire and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace in the whole mount quickly quaked and when the voice of the trumpet sounded long and waxed louder and louder moses spoke and god answered him by a voice and the lord came down upon mount sinai on the top of the mountain and the lord called moses up to the top of the mount and moses went up now think about it here here here he is the presence of god mount sinai where the glory of god was showing up and it was a trumpet so loud and moses was like hey he had to grab the people and the people were like you go moses we're staying over here but yet moses went up say went up now let's go to exodus 24. exodus 24 verse 15. it says and when moses went up into the mount and a cloud covered the mount and the glory of the lord bowed upon mount sinai and the cloud covered it six days in the seventh day he called unto moses out of the midst of the cloud and the sight of the glory of the lord was like devouring fire so he described the glory of the lord and he called the fire he called it a devouring fire it consumes things devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of all the children of israel so this isn't just moses seeing this this is this is now the children viewers saying we're seeing this from the bottom and they're seeing what's happening at the top the glory of god was like a devouring fire and moses went into the midst of the cloud so we see one thing where he went up and now we see he went into it and moses was in the mount 40 days and 40 nights let's go to exodus 33. i'm reading these for a purpose just for us this morning as we go forward because i want us to see what was so significant about this fire in moses's life exodus 33 for the sake of time let's look at verse 7. now moses used to take his own tent and pitched it outside the camp far off from the camp and he called it the tent of meeting of god which with his own people and everyone who sought the lord went out to that temporary tent of meeting which was outside the camp and moses went out to the tent of meeting all the people rose and stood every man at his tent door and looked after moses until he had gone into the tent when moses entered the tent the pillar of a cloud would descend and stand at the door of the tent and the lord would talk with moses and all the people saw the pillar of clouds stand at the tent door and all the people rose up and worshiped every man at his ten door wow let's go to the next chapter 34. verse 29 the amplified says and when moses came down from mount sinai with the tables of the testimony in his hand he did not know that the skin of his face shone and sent forth beams by reason of his speaking with the lord meaning when he was in god's presence he started taking on god's nature it was when he was in god's presence that the he started becoming like the one he was with and when aaron and all the israelites saw moses behold the skin of its face that his the skin of his face shone and they feared to come near him but moses called to them and aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him and he talked with them afterward all israelites came near and he gave them a commandment all the lord had said to him in mount sinai and when moses finished speaking with them he put a veil on his face but when moses went in before the lord to speak with him he took the veil off until he came out and he came out and told the israelites what he was commanded the israelites saw the face of moses how the skin of it had shone and moses put the veil on his face again until he went in to speak with god wow so here every time he's having this encounter with god he comes out looking like the one he's with and the brightness of his glory now was rubbing off on him can he the fire of god the glory of god was now radiant in his life so much so that people didn't want to look at him you know ultimately why they didn't want to look at him because all they could see when they were looking at him and saw how great he looked all they could see was how negative they looked that's what that's what often sin does in the presence of god it doesn't like to hang out in the presence of god because sin doesn't like the way it looks that's a whole another message but we won't get into this morning i don't think but but let's look at exodus chapter 3. that's why adam and eve had to hide themselves because they lost what they were clothed with they lost the fire they lost the glory of god that's why as new creations we're not supposed to judge after the flesh anymore but we judge according to the spirit of grace and the spirit of god through our putting our clothes back on well that's another message praise the lord thank you lord exodus chapter 3 so why was moses so captivated by this fire in this pursuit let's look at verse one of chapter three now moses kept the flock of jethro his father-in-law and the priests of midian and he led the flock to the back side of the desert and he came to the mountain of god so this mountain something about this mountain and the angel of the lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of the bush and he looked and behold the bush burned with fire and the bush was not consumed and moses said i will now turn aside and see this great sight why the bush is not burnt and when the lord saw that he turned aside to sea god called unto him out of the midst of the bush and said moses moses and he said here am i what do we see this is this is moses first encounter with the presence of god and they call it the angel of the lord came out in a flame of fire and this flame of fire was resting on this bush and this bush was not concerned consumed now now moses worked in the desert for 40 years now seeing a bush on fire was not strange to him if you know you know a lot of the the fires that happen in northern california and a lot of those fires don't happen because someone set them they happen because could happen because of lightning strikes they could happen from some natural reasons from things happening to those things it's it's not necessarily global warming let me get in the soapbox just for a moment okay global warming a year ago there was a category five that struck a island that had never been struck it had been a long time than a category five which they don't have too many category five hurricanes and they said that oh man this was there's a category five that hit this island well they went back and researched and in 1854 the worst hurricane hit that island and it was a category 5. wait a minute we didn't have cars we didn't have carbon monoxide we didn't have nuclear plants we didn't have any of those things so how could we say that was global warming back in 1854 when the things they contribute to global warming contribute to that i i can i i i can we can debate it i i i mean i can talk about the science and i can talk about how things happen in cycles and i can talk about years past things were colder and warmer in different parts of the planet and why this is heated one degree in that degree it's just it's they're mine i'm just telling you it's it's not what everyone says it is i'm telling you science will science will will interpret science and the bible interprets science science the bible science proves the bible not the other way wrong archaeology proves the bible i mean it's just never mind okay so pray for me please but the but the point we have to understand is this this thing with with with moses and this thing with the fire this this bush that was burning was not consumed what what it was like wait a minute i'm not seeing it burn up but what did he say it said he turned aside when he turned aside you see when we turn aside see when moses turned aside it changed his life forever he wasn't just an egyptian on the run any longer he wasn't just he wasn't going to be just a a shepherd on the back side of the wilderness any longer see his his turning aside was about not just to change his life forever but his turning aside was about to change a whole people group forever you see if moses didn't turn aside at that moment then god would have waited for another shepherd and another moment to turn aside to get the job done that moses was called to do because it was that moment that god visited moses and spoke to him and said go let my people go he said i will come down and i will deliver them and so it was this encounter with the fire that set moses on a course that would forever change him and i'm telling you it is your encounter with the presence of god and the fire of god that will not only change you from where you are but take you where you need to be and affect people along the way the fire of god is so important to our lives the presence of god is so important to our lives and when he turned aside see what does turning aside represent i wrote some things down it's an attitude of honor it's saying i'm going to stop going my direction it's saying i'm going to show honor by giving my time it's saying i'm going to give my attention to this turning aside is a choice that's saying i give myself to this different thing it's saying i welcome you to direct my life i welcome you to speak into my life and i welcome you to change me that's all that moses was saying all those things moses was saying in that moment when he turned aside because you know what god didn't speak until he turned aside god wasn't yelling at moses yo moses yo moses come here i gotta talk to you no god didn't say one word until moses turned aside and i've been there where i'm wanting god to speak to me and i'm gonna say god i need you to show me this i need you to give me that god i need you to do this god i need to know how do i operate how do i do that but all he's waiting for me to do is turn aside so often we're wanting direction in our life and we're wanting god to fix things and we're wanting god to change things but but the first step is you turning aside because it's in the turning aside then god will speak revelation that you've never heard he'll give you the answer to your problem he'll give you the solution to what you need and as a church of the lord jesus christ not just heritage of faith but the church needs to turn aside because we have to be the answer that the world is looking for we have to be the very body of the glory of god that has the ability to change and set people free this is turning aside then he told him this he said and he said draw he goes and he said draw don't draw near but first put off your shoes from off your feet for the place where upon you stand is holy ground what is so significant about this yeah it's significant that the ground is holy where god is but what did what do shoes represent you know there was no foot locker on the back side of the wilderness might be a strange thought there was no there was no he was in the backside of the wilderness there was no even even today in the middle east there's there were no markets where he was there was there was nothing there he was in the middle of nowhere he was in the middle of midian where no one wanted to live and he's and he he says take off what his shoes represent his his shoes could have represented several things one it could have represented something he hand made something that he was doing something that he was walking on for the last 40 years since he was in this particular wilderness so taking off the shoes wasn't just significant because where he was was holy ground but it was significant is is understanding this it is it's the holy that's going to take me to my destiny let me say that again it is the holy things that are going to take me to my destiny it represents standing on man's plans it represents human strength it represents flesh desires i wrote this down there needs to be a realization that our feet are barefooted that we're empty-handed and we have a fall on our face before the lord dependence you see that mentality that we are barefooted empty-handed and we have this fall in our faith dependency is the very thing that will empower our lives after all jesus had the same heart and the same dependence apart from the father i can do nothing you see turning aside is getting away from the busyness of life is getting away from the tat attachments that might delay or hinder your progress turning aside turning aside it's a it's an act of worship turning aside you know there's a phrase that sometimes in word of faith that i don't know if we always like this phrase because it's not a it's not one of those things that we like to proclaim kenny like a phrase like john the baptist says i must decrease so he can increase you know we we can have altar calls and this is how i thought about we have altered calls for for people to experience increase you know increase in your business increase in your promotion increase and i'm not i'm not making light of that it's it's something that we believe in and and and praying and in believing for increase and that's that's the word that's that's scripture but how often have we had an altar call where we say this is a decrease altar call well ladies and gentlemen today we're going to have a decreased altar call it'll be like cricket cricket cricket you know i you know i think of joyce meyers and doctor that's the same way we you know doctor so you know he he's preached amazing message throughout the years and he had this one message it was more than just one but he had one called the life of holiness and another one called the final frontier and it was about living a life of character and living a life you know and the thing is it's an amazing message but the thing is is all the series will sell out of how to get rich but then but then these other messages they don't sell so much joyce meyer said this that they had a they had a um she had a series called love revolution that had this it was this box set that had these dvds and she said i should have named it how to get everything you lusted after she said because it would we we would we'd have sold out of them but the question question was is is when it comes to personal change people don't like it they want god to take care of it they want they want we like convenient christianity versus commitment we want messages that just make us feel good and so to challenge us to change well that's not your pastor so what we have to understand is is this turning aside has everything to do with what moses was saying that you know what i've got to turn aside to decrease so god can increase now i mean we can we we can you know people might say well oh well pastor that's that's that's old testament that's all show me show me what new testament you know i i want to see this in new testament well this this this turning aside how about how about a familiar scripture to us without faith it's impossible to please god for he that comes to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him so me seeking him is me decreasing so he increases he that comes to god comes to god that's turning aside must come to god thank you father thank you lord just to find what direction need to go thank you father you see this was this was the important of the apostle paul's life the apostle paul had this same attitude i must decrease so he can increase a couple of scripture examples galatians chapter 2 verse 20. i am crucified with christ nevertheless not it's not i that lives but it's christ that lives within me i i'm not he's he said i'm not living anymore i'm not living anymore i'm crucified with christ nevertheless not i that that sounds like decrease to me how about you nevertheless not i that lives but it's christ that lives within me and the life i now live i live by the faith of the son of god now he's saying it's not even my faith but it's his faith i'm crucified with christ let's look at colossians chapter 3. colossians 3. say i must decrease so he can increase you see i i we live in an upside down kingdom you want to be the greatest what is what did jesus say be servant of all what does it say give and it should be given unto you wait a minute that doesn't sound right but colossians 3 says this he says if you be risen with christ seek those things which are above where christ sits on the right hand of god set your affections on things above not on things of the earth for you're dead for you're dead you're dead that sounds that is decrease you're dead you're dead look to your neighbor and say i'm dead you know what that would maybe green my dead man walking i mean that's that's really what it comes down to the apostle paul is saying saying you have to set your affection on things above that's that's meaning that's turning aside that's getting my mind off things it's getting my mind off self it's getting my mind off on everything else that's facing around me and i'm turning aside and i'm seeking that which is above i'm seeking i'm setting my affection my affection on things above not on the things of the earth why because you are dead and your life is hid with christ in god when christ who is our life shall appear then shall you also appear with him in glory wow see i decrease he increases let's go to second corinthians chapter three two more references here second corinthians three now let's tie some things together we talked about the glory of god and the fire of god on mount sinai and we talked about moses we talked about the glory how it was shining on him his face shone like the sun but let's look at this in the new testament here verse 7. now the dispensation of death engraved in letters and this amplified on stone the ministration of the law was inaugurated with such glory and spent blender that the israelites were not able to look at the face of moses because of its brilliance a glory that was to fade and pass away why should not the dispensation of the spirit this spiritual ministry whose task is to cause men to obtain and be governed by the holy spirit be amended you can say be changed with much greater and more splendid glory for the service that condemns talking about the law given to moses had glory how infinitely a more blounding bounding in splendor in glory must be the service that makes righteous the ministry that produces and fosters righteous living and right staying with god indeed in view of this fact what once had splendor the glory of the law in the face of moses has come to have no splendor at all because of the overwhelming glory that exceeds and excels it wow so here's the saying moses had this glory so much so that he had to wear something on his face so how much more would the glory of god that comes from the from the spirit of god that it would excel that glory there's a greater glory than what moses experienced and that all came based on god giving him the law how much more that god gave us his spirit verse 10 again indeed in view of this fact what once had splendor the glory of the law and the face of moses has come to have no splendor at all meaning meaning don't think this it doesn't mean that the law is not good it just means it compares to the splendor of the new covenant it doesn't say it didn't have glory it's just saying this other has greater glory verse 11 for if that which is passing and fading away came with splendor how much more must that which remain in his permanent abiding glory and splendor many how much more kenny how much more is this splendor and it says permanent permanent this isn't this isn't a temporary glory this is this is permanent for the believer this is something that's permanent it's it's for here and it's for heaven verse 12 since we have such glorious hope such joyful and confident expectation we speak very freely and openly and fearlessly nor do we now listen nor do we act like moses who put a veil over his face so the israelites not might gaze upon the finish of the vanishing of the glory verse 14 in fact their minds were grown hard and calloused they had become dull and had lost the power of understanding you know it's easy to grow dog to the presence of god they they grew dull to god showing up they're like oh moses will take care of it moses will take care of it don't grow doll they had become dull and had lost power of understanding for until this present day when the old testament the old covenant is being read the same veil still lies on their hearts not being um not being lifted to reveal that in christ is made void and done away yes down to this very day whenever moses is read a veil lies upon their minds and hearts now listen to this but whenever a person turns to the lord the veil is stripped off and taken away the moment a person turns what moses turned aside you see when moses turned aside he saw something he had never seen and what does it say here when people turn aside and repent the veil is stripped off it's stripped off and taken away now the lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the lord is there's liberty there's emancipation from bondage there's freedom and all of us with unveiled face now hold on unveiled face so who are those that have unveiled face those that have turned it tells us those that turn away the veil is taken off so here says in all of us as with unveiled face continue to behold and the word of god is in the mirror the glory of the lord are constantly being transfigured into his very own image in ever-creasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another for this comes from the lord who is the spirit wow so when i turn aside wow i open myself up to be transformed from one degree of glory to another when you turn aside to seek him on monday morning you are opening yourself up to be transformed by that glory when you open yourself to come on a sunday morning you are opening yourself up and you behold him you are now becoming like him when you behold him and you look at jesus then all of a sudden you were just like moses on that mountain something is changing about you you're thinking different you're acting different you're talking different you're speaking different you're not just speaking just just ordinary words now you're speaking commanding words you're not just just going through life just barely making it but now you hold your head up high and you have confidence because the greater one's living on the inside of you but that comes out of the life of a person that turns aside it's when we turn aside and we look at jesus it's when we turn aside and we d every step that you take to turn aside is you decreasing to allow him to increase in your life let's go to hebrews chapter 12 and close with this hebrews chapter 12. thank you father thank you lord let's look at verse 17. for you understand this is amplified for you understand that later on when he wanted to regain title to his inheritance of the blessing he was rejected disqualified and set aside for he could not find no opportunity to repair it let's look at verse 18 verse 18 says for you have not come as did the israelites in the wilderness to a material mountain that can be touched see this is why i wanted to bring out those scriptures to you because because this is a new testament and now it is connecting to what we saw with moses in the old testament for you have not come as did the israelites in the wilderness to a material mountain that can be touched as a mountain that is ablaze with fire and to gloom in darkness as a raging storm into the blast of a trumpet and a voice whose words make the listeners beg that nothing more be said to them wow they're like they're like they heard they heard a voice and they didn't like they were like whoa it just went through them the voice they were experiencing god's presence in amazing ways verse 20 for they not bear the command that was given if even a wild animal touched the mountain it shall be stoned to death in fact so awful and terrifying was the phenomenon phenomenal sight that moses said i'm terrified verse 22 but rather you have come to mount zion see now it's connecting the old mountain he's saying now it's not like the new it's not like that anymore he's saying you've come or you could say you turned aside to mount zion even to the city of the living god the heavenly jerusalem a countless multitude of angels and festival festival gathering and to the church of the firstborn who are registered as citizens heaven and to the god who is the judge of all and to the spirits of the righteous who have been made perfect and to jesus the mediator of a new covenant and to the sprinkling of bud blood which speaks of mercy a better and noble and more gracious message than the blood of abel verse 25 so see to it that you do not reject him or refuse to listen and heed him who is speaking to you now for if they the israelites did not escape when they refused to listen and heed who was warning and divinely instructing them here on earth revealing with heavenly warnings his will how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on him who cautions us from heaven just let that settle for a moment meaning yes we're living in a new covenant but here he's written to the church and he's saying that we should not turn our backs and reject what's being said see if you're not turning aside you're turning away from and if you're not turning aside then you're not decreasing and if you're not decreasing you're not going to be increasing you see the way in the kingdom of god the way up is always down and so that's why we need to decrease so he can increase praise the lord pastor justin that's such a good word so if we reject and turn our backs on him who cautions and admonish us from heaven now listen to this then at mount sinai his voice shook the earth but now he's given a promise yet once more i will shake and make tremble not only the earth but also the heavens this is a prophecy from haggai 2 verse 6. now this expression yes once more indicates the final removal and transformation of all that can be shaken that is that which has been created in order that what that what cannot be shaken may remain and continue let us therefore receive a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken king james says this wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved let us have grace whereby we may serve god acceptably with reverence and godly fear why for our god is a consuming fire hallelujah see i'm so grateful that we live under a new testament in a new covenant but that doesn't mean that we that we just go about our lives and do whatever we want to do no we have to continue to live a life that's turning aside because that's what he tells us right here that whereby we may serve god acceptably the amplified says that we may offer to god pleasing service acceptable worship with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe why because god is a consuming fire you see when we worship him we're decreasing him and i'm telling you the glory of god you might not be able to see it but the glory of god is changing you from the inside out you'll never be the same again stand to your feet cassie worship team thank you father thank you father for your word thank you father for your word thank you father thank you father we're all at different stages in different places in our walk with god all of us we know there's areas that you know there needs to be a little bit less adjusting a little less of my attitude a little less of my opinion you know i had miss carolyn get up and speak in the first service you know growing up in the era that she grew up in the tent revivals and church at the time that church she grew up in just the importance of the church altar yeah we yeah we can we can make an altar anywhere but there needs to be something holy about the altar the house of god now the altar this has been typified and even defined in some of the original language with different rabbis where they call it a killing place it's a place where things go to die but ultimately it wasn't to be the end but it was ultimately was their salvation the sacrifices that the high priest made year after year was was the only ways and means for forgiveness at the time that's why god had to send jesus but you and i we can get so busy with life and and be comfortable within our christianity and kind of have like a almost like an arrogant attitude of i got it all together you know god i've seen god do good things and yeah you know i'm prospering on my job and seeing that and doing this and god using me here god uses me there but i'm not satisfied with what i've seen god do in my life up to this point i'm grateful i think we can all we we always need to be content with where we are but never comfortable with where we are paul says you know be content in all things that didn't mean you know that he took up this badge well i'm just going to stay the same no his pursuit was always to know god know him in the power of his resurrection and so sometimes as believers we can it can be challenging to step into revival because we think we're okay we don't press we just kind of well that's the pastor will do that or that's the worship leader that's you know that's no it's the day and age we're living in as the church wow we need to be so much brighter than what we are the word says arise and shine for your fire has come and the glory the fire has risen upon you remember light their only concept of light was fire someone open the altar here at the close before we transition because i think there's just some things that we need to just turn aside and let the spirit of god minister to us just the way we need it so come turn aside let's fill the altars if the benches are filled then you can you can kneel behind them or stand behind them hallelujah [Music] you can stand you can kneel but it's making that position of just turning aside thank you jesus [Music] thank you jesus [Music] mercy poorly [Music] thank you jesus there is [Music] mercy pouring over my soul of transforming my heart and my mind [Music] i'll choose [Music] transforming my mind [Music] i'll choose to lay it all down [Music] my [Music] is [Music] [Music] my [Music] [Music] to jesus [Music] [Music] jesus [Music] i [Music] there's no other place that i decide [Music] [Music] [Music] is [Music] pouring [Music] is [Music] yes [Music] [Music] i come to [Music] jesus [Music] i choose to be right here at your feet i choose to be right here [Music] it's my choice it's my choice to honor you it's my choice to surrender [Music] it is my choice to humble myself [Music] as i decrease then you can increase and then you lift me up you lift me [Music] i choose to surrender [Music] i choose to surrender [Music] it's freedom and surrender there's freedom and surrendering to you there's freedom in surrender i fully surrender there's freedom and surrender [Music] there's freedom and surrendering to you this freedom and surrender so i fully surrendered fully surrendered [Music] move how you want to speak how you want to how you want to it's freedom and surrender [Music] i come to [Music] there's no other place that i decide to be than right here at your feet i choose to be right here at your feet i choose to be right here there's some things that can happen in god's presence in a moment then the natural may take 20 years but there's things that can happen in his presence and it can happen in an [Music] instant hallelujah [Music] thank you father thank you jesus thank you jesus thank you father we praise you father [Music] his presence is so strong in this place [Music] foreign [Music] jesus [Music] lord [Music] oh [Music] uh [Music] [Music] things [Music] times [Music] hmm jesus jesus i'll just fan the flame on our hearts today that we would burn brighter and brighter take us up higher holy spirit and the things that you have for us that as we behold you we will grow from one degree of glory to another degree of glory by the spirit of the lord [Music] saturate every part of our lives if you need healing in your body just raise your hands right where you are it's healing your body see if their hands raised just someone around them pray for them pray for them you have the spirit of god in you when you lay hands on them the glory of god is in you the fire of god is in you and the word says lay hands on the sick and they shall recover hallelujah so i declare as you touch them i declare that resurrection life is flowing through them into you right now and healing is manifesting right now in jesus name [Music] hallelujah thank you father hallelujah thank you father if you've never been filled with the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues come up here real quick come up here real quick hallelujah hallelujah [Music] hallelujah you've never made jesus the lord of your life and if you die today you wouldn't enter into eternity but you would go to a devil's hell if that's you and you need to make jesus the lord of your life then come down here real quickly come down here real quickly we can introduce you to jesus and you can experience the fire of god the goodness of god in the life of god like you've never known before [Music] foreign [Music] that i can't control [Music] i want more [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] god [Music] [Applause] i want more [Music] i want more [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] i want [Music] [Applause] thank you jesus thank you oh we thank you for your goodness thank you for your goodness father we love you father we love you father we love you jesus strength strength thank you jesus thank you jesus [Music] [Music] return the sun and coming [Music] let our lamps be [Music] fear [Music] we thank you jesus we thank you jesus i love you father holy spirit i thank you for sealing our hearts yes with what you have spoken to us today that this week will take time to turn aside this week will take time to do what what the hebrews talks about about worshiping you and giving you thanks and being in all of you not to be afraid of you but just be reverent of you and knowing that it's just giving you permission to move in lord we repent where we haven't given you permission to move in but today we turn aside we give you permission to move in and we give you pizza we give you a place to speak to our hearts thank you for taking us higher from here taking us higher from here not rebuilding next sunday but taking us higher each week from one degree of glory to the next and we thank you for it in jesus name amen receive that give him a shout of praise thank you father thank you jesus thank you jesus you can go ahead and be seated thank you father i'm gonna go ahead and receive our ties and offerings that joseph i was just gonna get for a sake of time well just um you know giving is a part of turning aside and you know as we believe as a church you know tithing is not a debt we owe it's a seed we sell and so every time that you give what are you what are you doing you're turning aside and you're saying god i give you access to my finances i trust you with my heart i trust you with my life i trust you that where your word says that you supply all of our needs according to your riches in glory by christ jesus so we give today we give with that attitude of heart amen hallelujah let's go and pray over offering father we just thank you for the opportunity to sow today we just thank you for being here in this in our midst thank you for just the tangibleness of your presence that's here and it's so in just all of who you are it's great that we got to be in your presence today and we thank you for it in jesus name amen uh sure you can receive the offering while doing that i'm going to have joseph come up real quick and i want joseph to give a report of some things that have been going on okay hallelujah church this this is a church that's on the move erica we had that outreach she had her outreach she comes here about once a month when's your next one in the end of october and we go out we went to the skating parks she went to uh the state fair some other places in the mall there were four of us that went out and then she went out later on there were 22 salvations 22 salvations hallelujah i mean amen amen we work with chariots she came yesterday for the food outreach we worked with chariots we had 16 salvations we had one rededication was just one rededication there were two people prayed for for healing and um there were 56 cars that came through it's about seven thousand pounds of food that's about nine or ten thousand dollars worth of food that we've partnered with with terran area food bank to do that and then we're doing the zoom meetings we've been asked to do zoo meetings now every sunday with the children of the teenagers in the detention centers we've had about 20 some salvations about 23 or 24 salvations there in the last three weeks yeah we're starting to use individuals in the church that are coming here we've got the boris singing girl when she sings the holy spirit comes on those kids you should see it i mean on a zoo meeting and all of a sudden they're quiet and they're listening i'm telling you the presence of the lord just shows up there's so many opportunities that we have we have people that go out to the hugley rehab center okay there's other things going on basically the lord told me this just the three things you got something to say you got something to say you're a carrier of the presence of god you are a carrier of the presence of god the carrier of the blessing the carrier the glory and uh i'm telling you you got a sphere of influence and uh 500 people by 2023 that's everybody in this entire congregation how many here in this congregation has been involved with one form of outreach with his church go ahead and raise your hand one form just one form of an outreach look at that look at this look at this passage justin this is a church on the move hallelujah well amen thank you joseph amen david king come on up david and riley they're part of this house but also they have a ministry outside and a lot of times you talk about crusades happening in india and africa but the lord puts in his heart to do them right downtown fort worth and so david tell us about that well not this friday or saturday but the next is the fort worth gospel festival and um it's going to be a blast this year we're actually able to do the festival side of it last year because the covenant we could just have the revival side but it's a festival and revival all smashed into one so they're uh we're starting at five on saturday again not this saturday not this friday but the next friday we start at five when we go to 9 or 9 30 and we're gonna have food trucks vendors all kinds of vendors coming yard games bean bag toss corn hole rick i you know i hold the hold the championship with pastor rick so i beat him at his own home ground so i'll let you rematch me in a few weeks if you come i had i had to rib you about that i couldn't let it go um uh pony ride we've got we're doing a it's actually a mini horse a pony i don't know if there's a difference between the two but you can only be 80 pounds or less to ride it so i'm sorry [Laughter] you can ride two ponies and oh well uh and then there's a petting zoo we're going to have a big area sectioned off kind of like a wall of hay bales and a section and you can sit down and eat uh drink hot chocolate and have have a petting zoo in there and then a pony ride going on in the grassy area so this is something the whole purpose of this is for obviously the church to come and have a lot of fun and get touched because we're going to release the same anointing that you feel here right now it'll be taking place there on downtown fort worth right in front of god and everybody but also the the hope the main purpose of this is to reach out to people that are not they don't want god that's my job as an evangelist you know so how do you how do you sell something to somebody that doesn't want what you have well you throw a festival is how you do it so invite people this is custom made for you to invite your neighbors we're going to have flyers for you as you go out the door be sure to grab a few don't just grab one but grab a few and go to your neighbor on the right and the left and across the street i'm going to do that myself and it's it's a whole lot easier for me to do it because the flyer doesn't have my name or my face on it you know you feel awkward so here come to my meeting you know but so so i'm going to go to my our neighbors i'm going to go up and down our street and invite people so i just i commission everybody here to grab some flyers not just one but grab three or four on the way out and uh we probably will restock next week and invite your neighbors to come to this and just tell them hey there's a festival downtown free entry pony rides going to be games and food trucks and live bands and everything you got to come out and that's going to get the lost and the unsaved to come we have to impact the city and i could preach a whole revival meeting on that statement right there but just trust me we have to impact the lost and the unsaved that's the power of the gospel fire you've been preaching on fire i mean you preached on fire last week and i'm not i got to be careful if i start talking too much just cut my mic back there because you i last last week in our revival meeting i wasn't planning on this but i preached on fire the whole week and i feel like we've just stayed in revival this morning it's been awesome but fire i'll tell you this right now that fire is made to spread if it doesn't spread it will go out what you've caught this morning you have to spread it or will go out that's just the nature of fire that's the way god made it it is made to spread and it's made to take over the city of fort worth so let's start taking it over this this this weekend take the fire that god's touched you with with the preaching of the word this morning and the ministry of the spirit this morning and spread that and watch what's going to happen all you got to do is grab some flyers and invite some people also pre-register everybody that pre-registers we will have your name ready on a list and have a ticket for you when you come friday and saturday night and you will get free popcorn and free hot chocolate we'll give you a ticket and you can go redeem that for free popcorn and free hot chocolate and encourage your neighbors to to pre-register online at gospelfestival.tv it's very very easy it comes up great on your phone i mean you can go to your gospelfestival.tv on your phone right now and pull it up and pre-register it's very easy so please do that that will really help things out but that's not this friday but the next friday october 15th and 16th starting at 5. the bands and the music we're just going to have background music playing but the bands and the music and the ministries start at seven o'clock and uh then i'll get up and minister and we'll gather everybody together at that point um friday night our team johnny macon and their team are going to be playing he's it's going to be out of the world and then uh saturday night cassie and the heritage worship team are ministering and then brother terry miner miner's gonna be ministering so excited about that got got him and uh joining in this year and uh justin and jennifer are gonna be involved a lot of people here are involved so it's gonna be awesome and thank you thank you pastor justin for for all the partnership and everything and praise god thank you for all you do and amen you'll be getting you'll be getting an email as well if you go to our website or the church center app you can actually register we need about 34 or 40 volunteers um 30 to 40 volunteers there so you can register and sign up for different time slots to be a part of that you'll be contacted also coming up we have our anniversary service coming up we'll just be doing one service on october 17th at 10 a.m afterwards we'll have bounce houses we'll have we'll have lunch provided just a great time to celebrate being 21 years of age as a church and looking forward to the the future that god has for us also tonight is young adult young adults 18 to 30 something and they'll be having fajitas uh fajitas so they'll be having those and um tonight here what time is that rick six o'clock here at the church um i think uh and also rib cook off bake off whatever if you do ribs or you do baking just go online look at the events look at that we love you god bless see you wednesday night oh that's right we do need to stack the chairs so we have some guys help us stack the chairs we're having all our carpets cleaned um this week and so uh just if you grab a chair help stack them real quick and we'll get them out of the way so thank you joseph will direct you go give him jesus
