at the time in high school football but it ain't just me y'all know I'm joined by football daily give a say hello all hello yes we're here with Sam to talk about all things football like we do every bloody day but what's the most goals ever scored in a match how is what will change the world for the better little clue it hasn't can someone explain the offside rule to me I still don't understand it two out of three of those questions going to be answered so prepare to enter the player cuddling your shorts and shin pads to score hard and become the champions wow that's a lot more sexual out loud this is 101 facts about football number one football like a a soccer a KD bee-utiful game aka kakie kick fest although that's my busin name for it is as you may have guessed a pretty big deal it's played by 250 million players in over 200 countries making it the world's most popular sport number two this means that FIFA which does the fédération Internationale de Football Association and no it isn't just a video game has even more countries than the united nations number three as I'm sure you're aware the game basically relies on scoring more goals than the other teams in your match so none of that love-15 homerun malarkey but plagues other sports the most goals scored in a professional game of football however is a whopping 149 goals to nil a victory I'm sure Madagascan team is a donor are gloating over to this day number four or not actually Sam is a de mer didn't score a single one of those goals it was their opponents stad Olympic lemon who smashed the ball into their own net that many times in protest of a refereeing decision in possibly the most counterproductive scenes ever number five one small thirteen-year-old boy played a game of football against a local team in Brazil and his team won by her ball breaking 23 nothing he was the sole scorer of all 23 goals his name ronaldo the asus Moreira would later be tagged as run out in iya number six our forward to 2012 Ronaldinho has since lost at seventeen fifty thousand coca-cola sponsorship after he was caught sipping Pepsi at a press conference I'll come on Ronaldinho that's page one that's like me being called watching autumn pendulum number seven sometimes you can get a result in just mere seconds and believe me I've been there somebody else who has also been there in the whack a labid or Saudi Arabian team al-quran who has scored the quickest goal ever at just 2 seconds after the whistle was blown number 8 back in the day football's themselves used to be black and white as evidenced by this lovely drawing that Clive has done for us - that's what this was apparently to make the ball more visible on black-and-white television screens which I remember of course because I'm ancient number 9 the first live broadcast of a football match on UK television anyway was in 1937 it wasn't actually a match though it was Arsenal having a little practice session number 10 in case you want to make your own they're at home Blue Peter style footballs used in professional matches are precisely 28 inches in circumference and have been this way for a hundred and twenty years number 11 the world record for the longest football matches held by the tascam support project a Southampton charity in well Southampton the game went on for 101 hours a night number all 36 players had to take breaks to eat get physiotherapy and sleep all together they scored over 1600 goals number 12 apparently football can help in the creation of children I don't just mean in a cardiovascular kind of sense in fact Germany experienced a baby boom after hosting the 2006 World Cup nine months after the competition the birth rate went up 30% before this the country had one of Europe's lowest with around 1.4 children per woman number 30 football is sometimes known as the beautiful game although my beautiful game involves staring pictures of Jennifer Lawrence without blinking so far I've got a minute some think that the beautiful game slogan was popularized by famous Brazilian footballer Pele Laurent come later by the way but actually it originated from British football commentator Stuart Hall in 1958 number 14 haleh was so popular stamped he brought two nations together during a civil war in 1967 there was a ceasefire in the Nigerian civil war for 48 hours so they could all watch pal a play and stop killing each other as well colour number 15 football players though great can be pretty bloody expensive the most expensive Association club transfer was back in 2016 for Paul Alva and chess the United for every 100 he did successfully he got an ice cream his coach said that once he ended up doing 1,100 in a row and so ended up getting 10 and I thought players were mentally fit number 20 the history of football is an interesting tale that is difficult to tell because it originates from all over the place the ancient Greeks for example play the game known as epic Kairos which resembles football except you could use your hands number 21 the Romans nicked the idea of the Greek game and named it harpist them instead a Roman philosopher and some surgeon bloke named Galen said there was a better sport than wrestling or running because it exercises every single part of the body takes up little time and cost nothing yeah I'd like to see him so that's all wrestler face to face number 22 however despite all this stuff the Chinese game called - Jew who's recognised by FIFA as the first version of the beautiful game with regular rules such as no handful so thanks China yo-yo number 23 - gee by the way loci that Cujo first time about in the second and third century and later Spica Japan number 24 this Japanese version was called Kumari with a ball made out of deerskin and horse skin they also played it in these snazzy outfits too back in 600 ad number 25 just decided to interrupt all this boring history to let you all know according to the Guardian the player who has scored the most goals for a single Club is the mighty Pele who scored around six hundred and forty three goals for Santos anyway back to the nonsense you guys were spouting number 26 yeah okay thanks lecture anyway in the game Kumari players would stand in a circle kicking the ball to one another while trying not to drop it a bit like keep you up ease just as a entire game number 27 football in medieval England on the other hand sounded excuse my French absolutely mental mob football as it was also known consisted of an unlimited amount of people on each team with villages often playing against each other number 28 that ain't all Zack my dear boy the rules of mob football were very very loose like your mum and it wasn't even played on a pitch it was played in the streets of towns and villages and the goals so to speak were just markers on either ends of town jumpers for goalposts smait be let's say yes number 29 and jonathan bap the only rules are that you have to get the ball to those markers using anything you like as long as you didn't murder anyone which is fair enough really and they're also the ball is inflated pig's bladder number 30 this destruction and death even though against the rule come on guys behave yourselves led to the banning of the game completely biking over the second in 1314 a ballgame and eventually resurfaced on the streets of London in the 17th century number 31 the football act of 1424 was passed by the Scottish Parliament in the reign of some idiot called James the first which stated that football was forbidden by the king and punishable by a fine of a whole four pence it's hardly Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer fee is it number 32 they were not the only ones who weren't fans of football king of sonnets and biting thumbs Shakespeare himself was vocal in his disapproval of football in his play King Lear in act 1 scene 4 there was the line nor trips neither you base football player Jesus build you take a day off now bear senator in 1613 King James the first of England came to his senses and lifted the ban on football he also instructed all Christians to gamer football after church every Sunday afternoon hey man don't tell me what to do is your king of number 34 just thought I'd jump in again because this history stuff is boring me senseless one team and one team only has never lost against Brazil in the games that they've played against them can you guess who it is no you're wrong it's Norway didn't see that coming did ya your bunch of spoons number 35 in 1878 the game was briefly banned again in England after a man dying from drowning while playing wait how the hell did that even happen was it played in a lake or something that may make the modern game more exciting anyway this caused landowners some petition to refuse teams from playing the game on their number 36 which came first the FIFA or the FA all this is exciting I've always wanted to be a Quiznos unlike the new Dale Winton right got your answer it was the FA which formed in 1863 whereas FIFA was in 1905 number 37 it has been said that women who have been playing the sport since its very beginnings history shows that women were playing kujou in China and 12th century France to number 38 in fact in 1863 governing bodies introduced rules that prohibit violence in the game so that it would be more socially acceptable for women to play number 39 nati honey ball which is a hell of a name let's face it was an English activist who paved the way for women in football by forming an all-woman team in 1894 called wait for it the British ladies football club number 40 women's football was actually very popular with matches having 53,000 people watching however the Football Association actually outlawed women playing special football on the grounds branding it distasteful and say it harms women's bodies which is in the Queen's English a load of old books number 41 some say that this was because of jealousy of how popular the game had become the English ladies Football Association said moved to rugby grounds to play their games the meaning of life some American mother factors God love and will no doubt be confused by this video isn't about their football in case you haven't noticed that's very different and involves picking up the ball and stopping playing and starting and stop starting again blah blah blah blah I'll and Super Bowls two Americans call football soccer for this reason in order to distinguish the difference between the two number 43 but the time soccer even though issued almost everywhere but Britain actually originated in the UK they wanted to distinguish between different types of football ie football we know as rugby and association football rugby was called rugger and the association football was shortened to soccer number 44 Andrew Watson apply at the Scottish club Queen's Park made history at the first black player in British football number 45 Sheffield Football Club not to be computed Sheffield the world is the FA Cup which started way back in 1871 but when John bob was a wee nipper number 47 Oh he's only really going to do that a joke about my age thanks old not to be a dad anyway what was particularly odd about the first competition was the plight of Scottish club Queens Park after a series of events such as not being able to agree on a venue and their opponents withdrawing from the competition Queens Park managed to get to the semi final without playing a single match now that is my idea of exercise never do it number 48 however this came back to bite Queens Park on a proverbial bottom as the team couldn't then play in the semi-final because they couldn't afford affair to get down to London yeah you've got rail fares are bad now none before dinner Wanderers went on to win the very first competition by the way they beat Royal Engineers one Mill number 50 the offside rule which I've tried to explain to Sam using salt and pepper shakers in time-honored fashion dates way back to the 19th century number 51 1878 was the first year the referee who are here as a master baiter of the standard to be believed use the whistle in fact penalties themselves didn't come about until 1891 number 52 I've got a few quick ones in my time but the fastest red card in football was given to cross farm park celtic striker lee todd just two seconds into a game in 2000 todd was sent off for foul language after said me that was loud after the ref blew his whistle 53 speaking of cards if you get two yellows you get two red and get sent off we all know that apart from gray in pole there is all accounts a quite good football player in fact he's so quite good he scored in every single minute of a football match all 90 not all in one match at all I mean I mean across his career son Chris number 76 there's even a whole museum dedicated to see Iran which opened influential Portugal in 2013 it was updated in 2016 to add to his collection of medals and trophies there's also a waxwork model of him at the center which I imagine looks incredibly disturbing number 77 when I although perhaps deserves this as he sounds like a very nice guy he funded the education of a seven-year-old Saturday Night Fever that's not a true disease either by the way number 97 Martyn Poliakoff of Nottingham University suspects that the ball on the world cup is hollow because if not it would be 70 key the grams of gold way too heavy for any footballer to pick up even if they do let were number 98 also unlike what I thought you don't get to keep it if you win and put it on the mantelpiece instead
