bang the freaking thing comes crashing down smashes onto the table hello everybody so I wanted to use this project as an example for the handyman business this isn't something that I would film and put up on the main channel but I wanted to show you this job was titled install laundry room light fixture provides me with a LED fluorescent light fixture and pull down the cover and I see that this light fixture was used as a junction box you can see these two black wires here go into that little track conduit up there come out down and feed the outlet that goes to the washer and the dryer so they all flow through here now I've already got these identified at least I think I do one of these is a switched hot for the light the other one is a continuous hot that trep that gets connected to one of these long black wires and one of those is the neutral for the light and four for the outlet over there for the washer and the dryer always budget more time than what you think this is not a simple light fixture replacement so the new light fixture I'm gonna have to cut out a hole in the end for this track to go in well you said this isn't something that would put on the main channel just because I don't have the time I've got to get this done and make four or five other stops today none of them are gonna make it to the main youtube channel this is some of the things that I work on that you guys don't get to see nothing real technical just kind of time-consuming it's all put back together and did I want to show you the style of bulbs that are going in here there's these basically LED strip lights that are going in these new fixtures this is what the customer supplied not me I know people get bent out of shape when I put in light fixtures where you can't change the light bulbs look how bright this thing is it is super bright down here no flickers now just put the lid on and I see the power is back on to the what is this the washing machine the maytag everybody's got opinions about washing machines and dryers what do you think of a Maytag Neptune yeah look at that fence that's beautiful fence yeah the guy who built that must be a craftsman wonder how this deck is holding up that I built this past summer I knew that the SAP dripping off these giant pine trees was gonna be an issue not too bad I don't know they spend much time out here this is how they have a setup oh yeah you can see the SAP hmm you probably need an umbrella imagine some of that SAP dripped in your hair but it still looks good if you sweep this off clean off the SAP oh looks like he's got some outdoor speakers speakers so one of the few houses that haven't been torn down and had to like that's what 1.8 million and that one over there 1.2 million and this is an old original 1950s next item is customer says that this electronic deadbolt is not locking okay I already know what the problem is here so on these key locks this is supposed to be like this this piece is not supposed to go inside that catch there give you a close-up of what it's supposed to look like so when it's put like that that means you can't Jam a credit card in there and make that go in but if this gets slammed now that little catch there is stuck in there and the door is extra compressed and the deadbolt won't line up with the hole so what's the solution don't slam the damn door I see you've even pushing on it I can't get that to catch guys it's only when it slammed hello hello damn telemarketers swear that's why I took my website down now every time someone recommends me on that app next door I get a gazillion telemarketing things I'm gonna adjust this door strike gonna move it in that way just a little bit and I may have to adjust the deadbolt one also okay here's the test we slam the door hit the lock button perfect unlocked go in check it this way slam perfect oops still locked piece of cake it's like that I just step in dog [ __ ] he's cake what do you guys think should we go to the next job I've got two more stops one of them is me coming back here to help the homeowner hang art yes gotta hang some artwork don't think I'll bring you in for that one but I am going to two other stops to other houses that this guy owns it's on this side of town and we'll see I'll tell you what the work is I'll tell you what I came up with as far as any complications or things that we all could maybe learn from okay just arrived at the scene of the next house replace kitchen faucet replace kitchen light bulbs mount number signed number sign meaning the house numbers on the outside of the house the next stop is just remove and replace the number signs the house number again this should be straightforward the kitchen faucet you never know what you're getting into I could get in there and it could just be a rotted nasty mess this is a rental house I'm not looking forward to it so I probably won't take in or will let you know the problems that I run into if there are any I have had real straightforward kitchen faucet replacements in rental houses I think one of them's one of them's on the You Tube channel it's called how to replace a kitchen faucet well back the faucet went perfect except for all the mouse crap underneath the cabinet but I was able to reach back I didn't have to crawl into the cabinet put my hands in and or anything pretty straightforward numbers went up fine which was good put me a little head of schedule go back to the owners house to hang the art and basically he needed me for my laser level and to attach the hooks to the wall he had already prepped the art piece with the cable that hooks over the hooks that go on the wall and I looked at him and I said are you sure these are this cables hooked up right I go how is this because it's a plastic coated steel cable goes from one hook on one side to the other side he's got him looped through twisted and wrapped with electrical tape I grabbed it I'm looking at him I say you sure he says well yeah it's it's it's wrapped and tied so I thought okay maybe he's got some actually like wire wrapped around it or something like that because of the tied part anyways I get my laser out get the hooks out perfect we get it hung we get a level looks beautiful we're just be icing for 20-30 minutes bang the freakin thing comes crashing down smashes onto the table and in slow motion it starts going forward keep in mind it's a sculpture plaster sculpture with little hands and like angels and naked angels and stuff like that and it's like I tried to get to it before it fell flat on his face I didn't get there in time falls flat on his face little late naked angel hands go flying he yells out starts cursing I'm like oh [ __ ] please don't be my hooks please don't be the hooks I look to the wall hooks are still there rock-solid keep mine each hook has a hundred pound rating he said that his piece only weighs 58 pounds so we have a large safety factor on the hook section well he didn't freak out much more than that he say he's gonna call an art restorer to get the hands and little pieces glued back on correctly and I was very apologetic but he said no no no no it's not your fault you even questioned me and I told you he specifically said those [ __ ] things aren't going nowhere when someone says that a mail guy you don't really question them say okay he's pretty confident I don't know what's underneath that tape maybe he's got something else going on but it's what happened is that his loop through the thing just came undone slid right out smash but anyways he gave me a whole ton of work I don't know how I'm gonna do it all by tight this spring is going by way too fast I've got a whole nother like house to remodel that he just gave me and then I'm going downtown tomorrow working in it's this loft with high ceilings I got little like what am I putting in a ceiling fan a fluorescent light fixture and two blinds on two really tall tall windows high windows huge windows no parking can't bring the trailer I'm gonna have to get a get together a toolkit I mean and I got to drag my my huge ass ladder which I need in various different extend abilities abilities extendable ranges to do both the upper blinds and the high ceiling fan and he knows there's gonna be a heavy bill especially when I gotta go pay for parking and can't bring my tool trailer
