10 Ways to Find a Prismatic Shard in Stardew Valley | 10 Different Uses | Prismatic Shard Guide

and other fun informative gaming videos from me [Music] ah the ever elusive prismatic shard this precious mineral is absolutely loved as a gift by every villager in the game well everyone apart from hayley she's just gotta be different i guess okay this is awkward so what all are they good for besides making the whole town really happy to see you i bet you they all sell these on ebay afterwards huh gotta pay the bills somehow am i right harvey are you completionists out there this rare mineral is a required item to complete your museum donations it is also an item that can be used for the newest missing bundle that shows up inside of the abandoned jojo mart you can of course sell these for 2 000 golden pop or 2600 with the gemologist profession at mining level 10. if you are playing a multiplayer game at the traveling merchant you can find the recipe for a wedding ring and use one prismatic shard and five iridium bars to craft it giving you the option to propose to another player you are playing with and yes they can reject you on thursdays you can trade three prismatic shards for one rock candy over at the desert trader dang that's pricey but oh so tasty prismatic shards can be used in tailoring which will create one of five random prismatic clothing items these are pretty cool they cycle through a whole bunch of colors a cool unique feature in the 1.4 update you can put a prismatic shard inside of a junomo hut and the junomo's that pop out will cycle their colors too if you have a couple of kids that you just want to have fly the coop already i know i do you can take a prismatic shard to the witch's hut after the completion of the community center or jojo warehouse offer it up to the dark shrine of selfishness and your problem children will magically fly away this option also unlocks a secret event involving an ancient doll as well and the last use which is probably the most common and most useful in my opinion after you get the dwarvish translation guide from donating all the dwarvish scrolls to the museum you can head to the graveyard and translate this headstone stand between the pillars three with a gift as precious as the sky a rainbow forge from land not sea then galaxies will heed your cry this message is referring to the three mysterious pillars in the northeast of calico desert and refers to a rainbow forge from land nazi so the rainbow shell won't work here bring a prismatic shard on over and well this happens you receive the strongest sword in the game the galaxy sword it also unlocks the galaxy hammer and the galaxy dagger and all three can be bought from marlin in the adventurous guild and you don't actually need the dwarvis translation guide to do this but it's how you would learn how to get it without googling it first now even though the prismatic shard seems like it's a gem it's not something you can put into the crystallarium to replicate which makes it even that much more of a rare and precious commodity [Music] now that you know all the things that you can do with the prismatic shard let's go over all the ways that you can find them first up we have the fishy methods the first way that i have ever found one was actually going through fishing and inside of a treasure chest treasure chests have pretty great items inside and items can vary depending on what location you're in fishing level you're at cast distance and luck can even have a small effect on what can be found inside treasure chests not just the rate at which you hook one in order for a prismatic shard to be found inside of a treasure chest it doesn't really matter how far you cast or where you're at you just need to be at least level six of fishing that's really the only requirement which is great but the chances of finding a prismatic shard this way is a 0.014 chance very slim mean luckier does boost the chances that this will show up though so keep that in mind [Music] next up is another fishy sort of way to snag a prismatic shard the 1.4 update introduced us to fishponds and with it a potentially quicker way to get this precious mineral fishponds don't really take much to build at all and once summer rolls around head on over to the river or up to the mountain lake and get a hold of some rainbow trout the pond will only hold three of these fish to start and after some time they will begin to make some demands you'll need to fulfill their requests three times and get their population up to nine or ten don't worry they spawn new fish every two days and you can always catch more rainbow trout up in the laker river to stock up the pond to make the process go just a little bit faster once you meet the population requirements there is a 0.1 chance that the item you harvest from them is a prismatic shard pretty cool ah the good old-fashioned way through mining omni geodes are a great source of minerals for the museum and ores for your smelting and of course a great place to get prismatic shards these geodes can be found in the mines level 21 and lower through panning they can be dropped from haunted skulls before the vault bundle is completed from carving ghosts in skull cavern bought from sandy or crobus on certain days and from any rock in skull caverns and a few other miscellaneous ways [Music] take these geodes over to clint and get to cracking you have a 0.4 percent or 1 in 250 chance of finding a prismatic shard in one of these geodesic gem nodes are these smooth purple looking rocks that you can find pretty much on any level in the mines or school cavern and even over at the quarry these gems will always give you one of these eight precious stones and if you're lucky you might just get that prismatic shard you've been searching for [Music] a little similar in appearance to the gem node but a little bit more magical and of course harder to come across the mystic stone is one you never want to pass up on these stones show up in skull cavern level 100 and lower in the mines and over at the glory if you're really lucky it has the highest drop rate of giving you a prismatic shard out of this entire list with a 25 chance as well as a good chance at getting some iridium or two [Music] iridium or nodes can be found in skull cavern much more frequently the lower you go if you are at level 10 of mining and have the hilltop farm or the four corners farm iridium nodes can show up there as well and they can also sometimes be spotted over the quarry too chances aren't as good as the mystic stone but iridium nodes are much more common with a four percent chance of giving you a prismatic shard sometimes you just gotta fight for what you want here are the ways you can get them through combat prismatic shards can drop as loot through combat but keep in mind that luck does not affect the chance of rare loot dropping from monsters the only thing that can really up your chances is by equipping the burglar ring and if you are looking for shards i suggest keeping one handy there are two monsters in the minds that always have a chance of giving you a prismatic shard as a drop and that's the shadow shaman and the shadow brute these daddies start showing up from levels 80 and lower and are some of my favorite tough guys to take out especially with their loot pool of smelted ore bars and prismatic shards they have a 0.05 chance of dropping the precious mineral after you slay them once you reach skull cavern there are two monsters there that have a higher chance out of any to drop a prismatic shard and that's the serpent and the mummy with a 0.1 percent chance it seems like a slim chance that with how many serpent storms you deal with in school cavern it's really only a matter of time the last combat method is through fighting any monster so believe it or not you can actually get a prismatic shard as a drop from any monster in the game i'm talking bugs [Applause] bats pepper x's slimes you name it it can be a monster found in the secret woods the mutant black even the wilderness farm i haven't had it happen to me but i have heard some people have found a prisma shark from slimes in their slime touch too really it can happen anywhere the monster is yes even in here the only thing you need to do first to make this happen is to get to the bottom of the mines once you do that and get your skull key every monster in the game has a small chance of dropping either a diamond or a prismatic shard the chances are a 0.05 chance but hey a little chance from every slave monster is good odds to me and just sheer luck the last way to get a prismatic shard takes a little bit of luck involved skull cavern is a seemingly never-ending dungeon with many dangers and mysteries and as you get deeper the rewards just get better once you make it lower than level 10 special treasure rooms can randomly appear boosting your luck can increase your chances of finding these rooms with usually some pretty great items inside my favorite is usually finding an auto grabber in one of these it saves me 25 000 gold there is a 1 in 24 chance that the treasure inside this chest could be a prismatic shard [Music] so how did you find your very first prismatic shards on some of my farms even on my first day in skull cavern from an iridium node getting that galaxy sword is always a game changer for me and something i try my hardest to get done as soon as i
