thank as many of you as we possibly can hope you enjoyed the video the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop was a successful business even before the Pawn Stars debuted back in 2009 over the course of 15 seasons fall stars became one of the most popular reality TV shows and History Channel's biggest moneymaker naturally the staff of Gold & Silver Pawn Shop usually wants to buy as cheaply as they can when they appraise the items with the help of their expert buddies obviously the value of the items people bring to the pawn shop varies depending on the items condition authenticity and rarity and more often than not people have no idea about the items real value the thing that pasar is used to their advantage is the fact that most people bring their stuff to the shop when they're in need of some fast cash we have heard Rick say I gotta make profit here countless times and resorting to questionable negotiation tactics and scheming is not below the Harrisons I'm gonna make you an offer you can't refuse apparently everybody tries to scheme everybody one time a woman came to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop with a collection of pretty valuable gold coins and apparently got herself a neat deal as she sold them for about twelve thousand dollars later it turned out that the coins were not hers at all but her uncle's from whom she had stolen the coins not only the man got robbed but he also had no chance of getting them back since Rick and the gang decided to melt the coins down to make more money from actually selling the gold than they had initially spent on the coins the story comes with another twist and another revelation since it turned out that the gold coin collection was actually worth about 50 thousand dollars as it contained rare coins like a 1903 sacred s $20 gold piece silver Morgan from the 1880s and contemporary one-ounce American Buffalo go pieces not only that the uncle got robbed but his knees got schemed by the Pawn Stars and got only about a quarter of its worth before she was finally caught and served a sentence for theft back in season seven Corey set out to prove to Rick and the old man that he should have an ownership stake in the pawn shop he saw an opportunity in the Lord David who came into the pawn shop to sell a 15th century samurai sword David got the sword as a collateral from a client that didn't come back to claim it so the Lord decided to sell it not having a clue how much the sword is worth during the backroom confessional before the negotiation with the seller took place Corey said that he had seen a few of those swords going for thousands of dollars which makes his initial offer of $800 really low in every sense after some negotiations the two shook hands at $1,500 which is a steel still the unsuspecting lawyer not realizing he had just been schemed said that he wanted to jump and do the - how happy he was the expert was brought in only later on and finally estimated the swords value at around five to six thousand dollars in its current condition however it could go up to fifteen thousand dollars if Corey decided to undertake a three thousand dollar restoration which counted as a scorer in Chumley's book in the episode title put up your dukes from season four a man named Bob entered the pawn shop hoping to sell a four hundred and fifty year old book that was supposedly once owned by Sir Isaac Newton who was known for dabbling in the occult matters the book dealt with the matters of alchemy and was believed to be one of the few remaining books from Sir Isaac Newton's personal library the old man immediately recognized the possible value of the book but just to be on the safe side a rare book expert Gary was called in after discovering handwritten notes and formulas in the margins Gary did confirm that the book was authentic and that it really belonged to Newton so he estimated the books value somewhere around $20,000 still despite its high value the old man offered insultingly low amount of five thousand dollars for the book but Bob eventually managed to talk him up to seven thousand even though he was schemed in the end Bob at least took two more grand out of Old West pockets now nobody was schemed in this pic but they almost did so it found its place in our list one time a man named Clint brought a baseball signed by 1951 World Series champion you were conquistador Gold & Silver Pawn Shop Flint's initial price was three thousand dollars which seemed more than fair considering the items condition and backstory however not wanting to make a mistake the old man brought in Brenda a handwriting expert who compared the signatures from the ball with the authentic one she had with her and concluded they were the real deal knowingly or not Brenda gave the old man some room to haggle by saying that the value of the ball is subjective and that its price depends on what both interested parties would go for the best that the old man could do was offer $800 for the ball so Clint just walked out with the precious item one of the show's regular customers is a man named Adam and in the episode called a holy pond from season 14 he brought a double-sided leaf of the famous Gutenberg Bible the item was so valuable since it was the first book ever printed in a movable metal type press that Gutenberg invented in the 15th century Rick knew that anything related to Gutenberg is worth a fortune from the get-go because only 49 copies of the book exist nowadays Adams initial asking price was $65,000 and Rick decided to bring in Rebecca a rare book specialist to appraise it since the last sale of a full Gutenberg Bible was in 1978 and 1/4 whomping 2.2 million dollars she held the leaf against the lights inspected for chain lines present in handmade paper from that period in the end the Leafs worth was estimated at around 80 thousand dollars which was still too high for Rick who doubled down the offer naturally the number was way too low for Adam who tried to raise it back to 55,000 which was still 10,000 less than the initial asking price while Rick wasn't entirely comfortable with the negotiation the two eventually settled for just $47,000 nearly 20,000 less than the original price which means Adam was practically schemed considering the rarity and the real value of the item a man brought in an original code 45 revolver that he wanted to sell him the episode aptly titled peacemaker since the gun saw a rise in popularity on both sides of the law back in the day Rick was immediately interested in it from the start claiming that guns like they'll sell better than just about any antique and he carries however the seller made a mistake of revealing that he paid only twenty-five dollars for it so Rick decided to jump in with that because something has got expert first after some haggling they struck a deal at three thousand dollars and laid around the expert concluded that the gun was worth at least five thousand and that the price could only go up depending on the rarity of the guns model later research revealed that although first ever Colt 45 sold for crazy two hundred and forty two thousand dollars back in 87 the guns similar to the one that reg gots go from two to forty two thousand dollars which means that Rick did make an offer within that price range but he still schemed the customer another customer that was almost schemed by the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop was a woman by the name of Diane in season four she came to the pawn shop with a bound copy of The Godfather screenplay which wouldn't be all that interesting if it weren't for the mysterious signature of Val on the first page Diane wanted to sell the script so she could raise funds for the charity organization hoping it's worth ten thousand dollars still without much to go on except enigmatic Cal everyone thinking about Al Pacino so Ric called in a handwriting expert John who eventually confirmed the authenticity of the signature despite the fact that the Godfather is one of the greatest movies of all time Rick wasn't ready to give more than five hundred dollars for it so Diane decided to keep it ultimately she managed to sell the screenplay for whomping twelve thousand dollars at a charity fundraiser but there was a twist after hearing about the auction The Godfather producers stepped forward to clarify some things his name was out ready and he was actually the one who signed the script when the Pawn Stars aired for the first time ever a man brought Rick in 1890 Hotchkiss - bounder cannon both the expert and cannon restorer checked the cannon out and later even tested it at the shooting range after a cast how much he could pay for the cannon and still make money the expert replied I would say $40,000 all day long the customer was pretty happy saying that he had only expected to get 30,000 which admittedly doesn't give you the best starting point for negotiations but Rick also accepted this price immediately this probably meant that there was more money to be made on the cannon and that there would have been at least some room for negotiations so the seller was most likely schemed one time a man brought in the JFK's cigar box with the remaining eight and smoked cigars the JFK owned while he was in the White House between 1961 and 1963 the seller was hoping to get ninety five thousand dollars for it unsure how low he was willing to go still he made a costly mistake by revealing that he's looking for some quick cash since he has a private museum and wants to move to a bigger facility which obviously gave Rick an opening using the fact to his advantage Rick initially offered him $50,000 and even though the seller hesitated to lower the price that much they settled for $60,000 which is still scheming as the box was really valuable Rick and the old man made a sweet deal when they bought a restored 1962 Lincoln Continental the seller Devon stated that after doing most of the work himself he had put enough time and money into it and he was finally ready to let it go he was looking to get thirteen to fourteen thousand dollars for the old car but since the PAS stars pointed out that the interior had been neglected they shook hands adjust $9,500 leaving the seller with the loss of 35 to 4,500 which definitely qualifies as a scheme on top of that it turned out that the original showroom price for the Lincoln was 10,000 so Rick and the old man paid less for the car in 2009 then it was worth when it first came to the market in 1962 which is pretty unusual for well kept classic cars thank you for checking this
