- These are 10 things not to buy at Dollar Tree now that they're $1.25
and some of these items may just shock you. Thank you to SimpliSafe for
sponsoring today's video. In the first spot, baking goods. With the recent price
increase in Dollar Tree bringing $1 items up to $1.25 each, cake and brownie mix two prime examples of products you'd be better
off buying elsewhere. Cake mix is now $1.25 at Dollar Tree, but at Aldi, it sells for 88 cents and at Walmart, cake
mix ranges from 94 cents for the store brand all the way to $1 for the Pillsbury brand. Brownie mix at Dollar Tree
from the Betty Crocker brand is enough to prepare an
eight-by-eight inch pan. At Aldi, you can buy their
brownie mix for 98 cents, which gives you enough brownie mix for a 13-by-nine inch pan. With regards to gelatin, it's
a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, 36 cents at Aldi. Flour is 94 cents at Walmart
versus Dollar Tree pricing. Any regular viewer or
subscriber of this channel is well aware that I am an
avid Dollar Tree shopper, so I'm not trying to take
any swing at the store. But with the recent price increase, many of you guys have contacted me asking me if certain products
still present the best value, so today I'm a bit of a bearer
of bad news, but who knows? We might all learn something together. In the second spot, cleaning products, which we all associate with Dollar Tree that LA Totally Awesome Cleaner brand lives up to its name and comes to mind. But did you know, you
can buy many of the same LA Totally Awesome Cleaning
products at Dollar General for a buck versus the $25 at Dollar Tree. From the beloved all purpose cleaner to the shower cleaner
and a laundry detergent, which is another fan favorite, all just $1 at Dollar General. Other bleach based cleaners
like Ajax and Comet still only a buck at Dollar General versus Dollar Tree pricing. If you prefer buying brand
name cleaners like Clorox, a buck 25 gets you 11 fluid
ounces at Dollar Tree. Where if you spend $1.33 more at Walmart, you actually get almost four times the amount for just $1.33 more. Fridge-n-Freezer Baking Soda
is $1.25 at Dollar Tree, and at Walmart you get two ounces more of the exact same thing for a buck. Also, if you love lighting
candles around your home to make it smell good, the candle lighters are a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, but they're between 88
and 97 cents at Walmart. Point three, school supplies. I don't know why I said that like I'm giving them away for free. But anyhow, I'm excited
because certain types of staple school supplies are
better purchased elsewhere. Notebooks as an example
are $1.25 at Dollar Tree, where at Walmart they are
between 94 and 97 cents. Target's prices are even lower during the back-to-school rush where their sales prices
are even more aggressive. Dry Erase Markers are 94 cents
for a pack of two at Walmart. And Elmer's glue is between
84 and 95 cents at Walmart versus the $25 at Dollar Tree. Before I get to my next
point, I wanna thank SimpliSafe for sponsoring today's video. SimpliSafe protects your

I'll get to that in a moment. Setup is incredibly easy. From the completely wireless base station to the wireless motion sensors,
the glass break sensor, the keypads that I can arm

incredible clarity night vision and a very bright

installed in my studio is their brand new indoor camera. I can monitor my camera feeds,
arm and disarm the system, all using the SimpliSafe app with optional professional monitoring for less than $1 per day. Save 20% on your

range of noodle varieties at Dollar Tree for a buck 25, but you can find the same style of pasta for 92 cents at Walmart or
99 cents at Trader Joe's. How crazy is that? Authentic Italian pasta at Trader Joe's is cheaper than the Dollar Tree. Speaking of pasta, Kraft mac and cheese is now a much better buy
at places like Walmart where it's a buck, Target
where it's also $1. And if you don't mind a generic
brand of mac and cheese, you can score it for 34 cents at Aldi. If you are a big fan of the original ramen bowls at Dollar Tree, it may sadly soon be
time to look elsewhere. Ramen bowls are between 42
cents for a smaller bowl or 88 cents for a larger
portion at Walmart. Now, in the number five spot, a few frequently buy canned
products at Dollar Tree, you're gonna hate me
by the time I finished with my next point. I'm just kidding, don't
hurt the messenger. But canned fruit and vegetables are often better priced elsewhere. At Walmart, they are around a buck which is the same as Aldi. Canned beans as an example
or a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, 84 cents at Walmart and 71 cents at Aldi. Broth is a very popular
Dollar Tree purchase where it's a buck 25, at
Aldi it's 10 cents less than a buck 15. Pouched or canned tuna at
Dollar Tree is a buck 25, at Aldi it's around 71 cents for a can or the pouched kind 84 cents. Bumble Bee pouch tuna at Walmart $1.08, at Dollar Tree the exact
same thing, a buck 25. In the number six spot, its soap, shampoo and a few other surprises. Branded soaps like Softsoap and Dial a buck 25 at Dollar Tree. At Walmart, Softsoap is 98 cents and Dial also coming in strong at 98 cents. Fan favorites like VO5
shampoo and conditioner at Dollar Tree for a buck 25, retails for 98 cents at Walmart. Cotton swabs are also 98 cents at Walmart versus Dollar Tree pricing. A two pack of loofahs,
97 cents at Walmart. Toothpaste is $1 at Dollar General. And select brand name
toothpaste $1 at Walmart versus a buck 25 at Dollar Tree. In the number seven spot,
before I tackle a topic of great controversy
in point eight, spices. They're $1.25 at Dollar Tree. At Aldi, prices are around
97 cents for spices. And as I mentioned in a prior video, it's rumored that the spices at Aldi are made from McCormick Spice leftovers, so they are higher end. Taco mix is a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, it's only 97 cents at Walmart. Cereal not only comes in at a
higher price at Dollar Tree, but it comes in much smaller packaging as many of you already know. So instead of buying a 3.1
ounce package of cereal for a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, you could opt for the 18.6
ounce family size box, which costs only $2.73 more at Walmart. Point eight, balloons. And I say this with a huge asterisk before I get ripped to shreds
in the comments section. Balloons are generally a
fantastic buy at Dollar Tree and this still stands true to all of the pre-inflated balloons and they're fantastic on helium balloons. However, for a package
of non-inflated balloons, you can buy the same quantity
for just $1 at Dollar General versus the buck 25 at Dollar Tree. One gallon water jugs were
another item people flocked to buy when everything
was a buck at Dollar Tree, but now this is $1.25. And one gallon water jugs
are now a cheaper buy at Walmart for $1.08. For the next point on my
list before I surprise you with another partying no-no, storage bags are always a
fan favorite at Dollar Tree. $1.25 gets you five of these
one gallon storage bags, but at Walmart you can
purchase a pack of 20 for 2.78. So you're once again
gaining much better value by purchasing a larger quantity elsewhere. That same price premise
applies to plastic wrap. 45 feet of plastic wrap is
a buck 25 at Dollar Tree, where at Walmart you get 300
feet of plastic wrap for $3.42 If you're watching and
you have a sweet tooth, you're gonna wanna stick
around for my bonus section, but first for the next point on my list, paper products at Dollar Tree
are not always the better buy. Let's start with napkins
a buck 25 at Dollar Tree gets you 115 Regular napkins, where at Dollar General you can score 150 napkins for a buck. Facial tissue products are also a better purchase elsewhere. $1.25 gets you a square box of Scotties two-ply tissues in a 64 count. At Aldi, a 65 count of two-ply tissues infused with aloe and
vitamin E are 10 cents less for a buck 15. I decided to buy and try both products, I brought them home. The Scotties from Dollar Tree are on the left and Willow
from Aldi is on the right. I found a both brands
comparable in terms of quality, with Aldi having the slight
edge in terms of thickness and that premium feel. And one other highly popular
party purchase from Dollar Tree before I get to the bonus
section are these cups, you see them right here, they're a buck 25 for 16 at Dollar Tree. At Dollar General 18 cups are a buck. Finally, for the bonus
section, candy boxes that many of us have purchased in the past at Dollar Tree are now cheaper elsewhere. Candy boxes are still mostly $1 at Walmart versus Dollar Tree's $1.25 cent pricing. Even at Target, some of
your favorite boxes of candy are still just $1 as well. At Dollar Tree, hot dogs are $1.25. And at Aldi, hot dogs are 99 cents. And you know what? I've always wanted to end a YouTube video on the topic of hot dogs, so
I'll stop my list right there. Once again, thank you to SimpliSafe for sponsoring today's video. I really appreciate you guys watching. I love you, bye bye.
