10 Things Every Adult Should Own

i'm sharing 10 things every adult should own in today's video [Music] hello everyone jennifer l scott here and welcome to the daily connoisseur i am the author of the madame chic series and connoisseur kids and on this channel i like to explore the fine art of living so in today's video we're going to talk about 10 things that every adult needs both man and woman so let's jump right in the first thing that every adult needs is proper stationery now you can get really fancy and have custom stationery that has your monogram on it or you could do something like buy a set of cards that are blank inside that you can customize as you will you could have plain stationery that's simply white paper with matching envelopes or you can have stationery that you decorate yourself with stickers and washi tape just because we're adults doesn't mean we're boring right but either way as an adult you will find yourself needing to write a letter at some point in your life and what you don't want to do is take your child's spiral notebook and rip out a page with all of the little rips on the side of it you know what i mean and just fold that up and send it in some random envelope you're going to need some stationery now if you don't write a lot of letters my advice to you is to just get a box of plain white paper or blue paper with matching envelopes you can find them for a very inexpensive price just have it just in case you need to write a letter speaking of letters i'm going to plug the chic society which is the channel memberships here on youtube we have a pen pal every adult needs and this will come as no surprise to you if you watch my channel is presentable pajamas whether you are a man or a woman you need presentable pajamas as we grow up and we become adults we no longer want to wear ripped old concert t-shirts or old gym clothes or whatever it is we're wearing to bed maturity and hopefully sophistication we want to look presentable always even at night and i would say especially at night i have lots of resources on presentable pajamas and i will leave them linked down below the third thing that every adult should have is a robe or a dressing gown so i think everybody needs a bathrobe and most of you probably already have one but if you don't consider getting one they come in handy when you're cold you have to walk around the house in your pajamas or if you're wearing pajamas that maybe aren't appropriate for everybody to see just pop a bathrobe on over them you could get really fancy i have this beautiful silk dressing gown from the ethical silk company you could have spa or plush robes like this one from plush necessities you can find robes everywhere so find one that suits you and your personality and have a bathrobe it's appropriate to cover up when necessary it's also a very chic way to stay warm in the cold morning hours the fourth thing every adult should have is a proper iron an ironing board or a steamer preferably both and hopefully you will use them so we no longer want to roll out of bed in wrinkled clothing throughout the day but we want to have ironed steamed pressed clothing so my favorite way to do this is to have a steamer i have a portable hand steamer and i use it almost every day so every adult needs this we want to look crisp we want to look presentable and having an iron in a steamer is a must the fifth thing that every adult needs is an investment account so young people i hope you're listening to me you have to have an investment account you need your money working for you so you must make this a priority in your life and the earlier you start the better compound interest is an amazing thing so start now and do your research the sixth thing that every adult needs is a watch now it doesn't matter what type of watch you have some of you like to have digital watches some of you like to have smart watches some of you are like me you like old-fashioned watches but it is a good idea to have a watch to be able to tell the time by not having to look at your cell phone it's something to consider maybe there's a watch that you've had on your radar for a long time maybe it's time to start saving up for it even if it takes you a few years but have that goal in mind but i do believe that every adult should own at least one watch the seventh thing that every adult should own is durable luggage so if you are a grown adult you don't want to be schlepping around the airport with an old ripped duffel bag for example you want to have nice luggage now of course you can spend a lot of money on luggage or you can find luggage anywhere you could probably find it at your local thrift store but look for something of high quality my favorite brand is soul guard i love them they have eco-friendly luggage that has won all sorts of awards i also love nomad lane they have a fantastic carry-on luggage set that has all these compartments but if you're someone especially who travels a lot consider getting a nice set of luggage again it's something that you can find anywhere at any price point but it's something to definitely be intentional about the eighth thing that every adult needs is a high quality wallet so of course you can go really high end here or you can go middle range or you can find a wallet anywhere but you need a wallet that's not falling apart that has the proper compartments for what you need that will fit in your handbag or in your pocket a wallet that you have thought about and is intentional you don't want something that's falling apart or maybe isn't even intended to be a wallet maybe it's just like a an old like zipper case or something you could potentially get a hole in it and lose your money so so having a nice wallet is something that every man and woman needs i will leave resources for you down below like the link for this wp standard wallet it's absolutely gorgeous and holds things beautifully i like wallets with zippers on them so i'm not worried about anything falling apart i will leave some resources for you linked down below the ninth thing that every adult needs and you're going to laugh at me for this but seriously it's true is matching undergarments of course this is more for women than for men but i do believe that what we wear under our clothing is as important as our clothing or our sleepwear so i know that this is the case a lot of ladies and gentlemen might dress well throughout the day but what's the state of your undergarments do you have saggy undergarments that don't fit you anymore maybe the elastic is worn out maybe there's a hole in them you need to update your undergarments and you need to make sure that they are in top condition that they support you and fit you well and ladies consider having your bra and panties match it could be something from a set that you purchased together to simply having them the same color so if you're wearing a black bra then consider wearing black panties to match it but when you wear matching undergarments really nice foundational pieces it really changes how you move in your clothes and you really do feel like a true adult and the 10th thing that every adult needs is a good set of dishes yes you need a good set of dishes so if you have come from college and you have a box of old random cracked dishes that you're using for dinner it's time to invest in a new set you can find them anywhere my favorite brands of course are port marion and spode who i absolutely love they have the most high quality sturdy dishes so i recommend that if you are going to invest in dishes that you do invest in ones that will last you for decades i will leave resources for you down below of course but as an adult you might be having people over for dinner or you might not but you know what you are worth having your meals plated beautifully on nice plates and so a nice set of dishware is something that every adult should have now you don't have to go as fancy as i like to go obviously but even just white plates plain white plates that are simple with no cracks on them will do the trick i hope you enjoyed today's video clearly there's a
