Dollar Tree store shopper, these 10 secrets will save
you big, not just there, but possibly at other dollar stores and Dollar General as well. Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. I am The Deal Guy, Matt Granite. If this is the type of
content that you like to see, please feel free to give
this video a thumbs up, subscribe and turn your notifications on, that way you can save huge at
all of your favorite stores. Before I unleash these
10 huge shopping secrets, I just wanna remind you guys, that on mattdailydeals.com, it's kind of like your own
daily deal dollar store. I do have some really awesome finds like this $19 tech backpack. Reminder, I do use affiliate links, which means I benefit monetarily, if you are kind enough
to use one of my links. The first big shopping
secret for the Dollar Tree actually stems from one
of its major complaints. A lot of us know that if you
go to a Dollar Tree store and you buy something that would be like a shampoo or conditioner, a moisturizer, you're getting a great price. But it's often a much smaller quantity than what you would find
from another retail store. So in essence, you get a good price, but if you actually compare
the ounces per dollar, you're not doing as well sometimes on major brands at the dollar store. If you did not know, there is a very special section
of the Dollar Tree website, and some of their stores, where they offer something
called Bonus Buys. And for savings secret, number one, this is the exact same product that you would find at the dollar store, except it's actually at the
size you should be getting in the same size you'd be getting at a Costco or an Amazon or a Walmart. And you can see when you see
things like 20% bonus free, don't get overly excited about that. If it is a Dollar Tree website
that just usually means you're getting the normal
size of that specific product, but the Bonus Buy section gives you a full wide range of products you would otherwise be
overpaying for at the size they should be at. So don't forget that when you
are shopping at Dollar Tree. For Dollar Tree shopping,
secret number two, don't forget that not
all Dollar Tree stores are created equal. In fact, some have freezer section, some have more extensive food
and things like $1 steaks, actually pop up from time
to time at the Dollar Tree. Now, would you, or should you
consume a Dollar Tree steak? I did it once. I won't say it was the most
perfect piece of filet. I think it was mignon that I've ever had, but compared to what you
would find at a Walmart or some of the steak selections you might find at a place
where you wouldn't really get overly excited buy meat. I didn't get sick. It wasn't awful. It just wasn't as incredible
as their greeting card section and I'll leave it at that. And that whole steak comparison and building upon the fact that not all Dollar Tree stores are created equal, that will actually take
us to secret number three, which is there's a central
liquidation section for all Dollar Tree stores. Sometimes I'll hear one
of my friends mentioned, they found this awesome deal in their Dollar Tree clearance section, or there was an extra sale at
a different Dollar Tree store. And I've wondered, well,
how is that possible that that store has this and this doesn't, they're actually all
amalgamated when there is stock with a special section
online called Closeouts. And the closeout and liquidation
page is very aggressive. And this includes the best of the best and some really well-picked
well-reviewed items. So keep in mind that just
because you don't see something in a Dollar Tree store in
your neighborhood or community doesn't mean it's not available right now while I'm speaking online. The fourth shopping secret for the Dollar Tree stores as well. They do have the most incredible
selection of greeting cards at really low prices with high quality and some awesome stickers
that my two-year-old daughter can benefit from. The vitamin section is really lacking. And I wanna strongly urge you guys not to make your way to buy vitamins and supplements at the Dollar Tree store. Mainly because Kiplinger
and many other people that are far more intelligent than I am, have reviewed the vitamins
available at Dollar Tree. And they've concluded that
the correct level of vitamins that are advertised, don't always correlate with
the product that you ingest. And in my pure price comparison that I've been able to
do as a consumer advocate of now nearly I guess almost two decades, the CVS and Walgreens
branded vitamins are awesome. They're just aggressively discounted to the extent the Dollar
Tree products are. And you're getting a much
higher grade nutrient just from what I've
read and what I've seen. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I just thought I
would pass that along. For Dollar Tree shopping
secret number five, I don't know if you are aware, but you can actually get
additional money back on many of the purchases
you make at a dollar store. So I've heard people say, oh, I should never buy food
items at a Dollar Tree. Some of the grocery
items are almost as cheap as a liquidation or a clearance
rack at a grocery store. And some of them are better, but I don't know if you are aware, you can scan your receipts, earn points, get rewards for major product lines that are in fact carried
at Dollar Tree stores. So for example, just as
this goes by very quickly, I see jello here. Some of the water brands Aquafina
appears from time to time at Dollar Tree stores. Aleve has been there, Klondike bars. So these are all items where, Cocoa Puffs. Anyhow, you can tell,
I don't get out much. This is a way to save additional money. And if you thought this was helpful, stay tuned for shopping secret number 10. I'll tell you an additional way to get even more cash back on your purchase. But before we get to that, let's talk back to school supplies. They are being aggressively marketed. I've read a lot of vloggers,
actually seen some YouTubers, just blindly telling people
to go run to the school supply section at the Dollar Tree store. And just as I'm sure you guys know, because I've heard from the
very intelligent viewers and subscribers of this channel, not everything at every
store is a good purchase. If you love Costco, not
every single thing in Costco from a Kirkland brand is going
to be the lowest or the best. And that's true with notebooks. And I wanna show you a
stark comparison right now, 'cause I think it's important to see. And the secret that I'm
going to impart right now for number six is that the
back-to-school notebooks and some of the school
supplies really aren't that good of a deal at all. So let's just take into account
these spiral composition notebooks, 70 pages each. You have to buy a case, which means you need to buy 24 of them. And they're a dollar per unit. Guys, if you go into Target, just as an example, for a
70 page notebook, 25 cents, no minimum quantity that you need to buy. So please, if you can, I know we all love the Dollar Tree, and some of the products
they have are just amazing. School supplies, not so much
and not on every single item, which actually brings me to
the next shopping secret, which is I think an important
reminder for parents. And this actually comes from Cheat Sheet. They did a whole breakdown. And in addition to jewelry, which I did not know could
contain harmful chemicals to the same extent that
children's toys could. Lead and all sorts of other
potentially harmful chemicals, including chlorine were found in many of the toys sections at the Dollar Tree. In fact, I wanna show you just some of what I've seen at
dollar stores in my local dollar store and at the Dollar
General and at Dollar Tree. There are some toy brands
I've never heard of and some products that
are very reminiscent of other items that were
recalled from major retailers, not too long ago. So I'm not saying they're identical, but it is definitely
something to keep in mind when you are shopping at Dollar Tree. As I said before, the
stickers are great for kids. The toys just keep your
eye open if you can. The eighth shopping secret, I don't know why I keep doing this. It's like, you guys need me to invest in better graphics or just
maybe be less annoying. That's fine. The eighth shopping
secret for Dollar Tree, I need to sit on my hands or something, is the bulk versus the singular
item purchase misconception. So a lot of people believe
if they're shopping at a Dollar Tree store, it's
for non-bulk related purchases. If you see random owl
and other decor items for your garden or random
glasses or bottles, if you are looking to buy
many of these products, you believe that you just are limited to what's on the store shelf. For candles, a lot of
people believe that too. Online, you can actually bulk buy many of the items in the store. And I'm going to just let
you guys know that for, for example, the candles
you see right here, not only are they bulk buys, but you're required to buy
12, a whole case of them. So you can ship these to
your local Dollar Tree store. If their stock that is not
available at your local store, or you see some items online and you wanna match them with
what's available in store, you can actually cross
match the collection. So if you see four
particular floral plates in blue that you love and
you know, you need six, actually score those other two online. You can have some carry
through from the store to the website, which
is kind of rare to see for any type of dollar store chain. One of the other things that
I really want to point out about saving secret
number, there I go again, For savings secret number nine is you do not need to be held
hostage to the quantities that Dollar Tree wants you to buy. So I did show you that
they've got a minimum here and a limited quantity sometimes in store. I'm gonna show you a really
cool section of Dollar Tree online that a lot of
people don't know exists. And by the way, party supplies, amazing, great Dollar Tree purchase, could not be more excited
by what they have. On the shop by department list, scroll all the way down
to smaller quantities. Aha. There you go, you don't need a full case. You don't wanna buy four, you
have the ability to actually go through all of the categories
in the specific store, including the crafting supplies and rather than buy an entire case or a huge level of quantities, you can actually search
through categories. And many of these brain huge discounts from home accents to crafting supplies, where you get specifically what you want. Maybe you just need one wine glass, or maybe you want to know, put a flower of some
kind in here or rocks, whatever your reason being,
that looks really good. You want mismatched glasses. You do not need to buy
any specific quantity if you know that this section exists for the Dollar Tree store online. And for shopping secret
number 10 at the Dollar Tree, they accept manufacturer coupons. A lot of people, many of the
folks that I've spoken to were just completely unaware that they accept manufacturer coupons. Now, while they do not accept
retail specific coupons, obviously you can go in with
a Target or a Walmart coupon. You can actually go in with a coupon and further reduce the price of something at a Dollar Tree store. So please keep that in mind. If you guys are looking for
other tricks tied to coupons, primarily at CVS or Walgreens, I've got that covered on this channel. If you subscribe and you
turn your notifications on, I would be so honored if I
could save you more money at your other favorite stores. In fact, if you like this
content, if you don't mind, please give me a thumbs up. Not only boost my low self-confidence, but it just lets me know what
type of content you want. And that helps dictate that
next video that I produce, which will hopefully have
less hand and arm emotions. Thank you so much for watching. I love you, bye bye.
