10 Useful Chrome Extensions Everyone Should Know! 2023

[Music] hello folks and welcome back to our useful Chrome extension series whether you use Google Chrome Microsoft Edge Brave Vivaldi or some other chromium-based browser extensions can be a great way to enhance the functionality of your browser coming up I'll show you 10 must-have Chrome extensions that we think could be useful to you in your life in a variety of categories let's get started first up save to Google Drive it's from the Google AI developers at Google themselves it simply does what it tells you in its name it allows you to save web content like images videos links and various types of files to your Google drive to view at a later time for example with an image you'd like to save right click on it and select save image to Google Drive or if you see a link that you'd like to save right click on that and select save link to Google Drive it's that simple next up compose AI is a game changer not only is this extension great for checking grammar but where it shines is generating text using AI to auto complete sentences anywhere you type within your browser like in Gmail Outlook and Google docs to name a few here's a short example of one of its features to begin when you want to initiate compose AI is to type slash slash you'll get suggestions of how you could start your prompt you'll see outline bullet list and several others let's say I wanted to write an article about the history of Mardi Gras in New Orleans starting an outline would be best so I'll go with outline and complete the rest after typing your prompt hit enter on your keyboard this may take a few seconds to complete this looks like a good outline for an article now I'll copy a section from the outline after highlighting it you could select Ctrl C or command C depending on your operating system let's go below that section and do a slash slash then type The Prompt write a section or an article with on and then paste what you copied either with Ctrl V or command V then hit enter as you can see it just wrote out that section for a full walkthrough of its features after installing this extension it'll give you the opportunity to view a tutorial from the creators of compose AI if you're using a blocking extension like ublock origin privacy Badger is a good companion extension to run along with it created by the folks at the non-profit Electronic Frontier Foundation it automatically blocks trackers based on their behavior to find out what is being blocked on a web page select the Privacy Badger icon to the right of the address bar according to this it is blocking 13 potential trackers automatically for each domain listed if the slider is to the left in red it's blocking that domain entirely if it's in the middle in yellow it's only blocking cookies and if the sliders were to the right and green it's allowing everything from that domain there should be no need for you to change any of these if you do it may cause some websites to not load properly cab Wrangler is useful for those of you that keep a ton of tabs open in your browser to help with your tab addiction it automatically closes unused tabs after a specified period of time to reduce background resources it's simple to use and there's not a lot that you need to do to reopen a tab that's been closed click the tab Wrangler icon in the tab Corral if any had been closed you can reopen them from here in tablock it'll show you how long each tab has been opened and in options you can set a time to close inactive tabs now owned by PayPal honey is a popular money-saving shopping extension many of you have heard of having it installed it makes it quick and easy to find coupons and Deals on more than 30 000 websites it's a deal or coupon available honey will have a pop out on the right side of the page in this example hovering my cursor over it in potential savings says there's 11 coupons it shows the price trend over time and let's scroll down it also shows that it found a lower price let's click compare prices at seven stores according to this it's quite a bit less expensive at Walmart which is useful information to know up next is keyword Surfer if you run a business you know that subscribing to SEO tools can be expensive this free extension with excellent reviews allows you to generate keyword ideas and see the search volumes and the search results on Google here's an example do a search in Google let's go with electric bikes under a thousand after doing your search you'll see keyword ideas here on the right you can select keywords individually or all of them to add to your collection if you do business in another country and want to see the best keywords for that country you can change it here in the upper right this will be a quick one Microsoft autofill is useful to save your passwords addresses and payment information and automatically fill them in on the websites you visit this extension is only for Google Chrome and it's already built into Microsoft Edge in other words it's for those of you that primarily use Edge and sometimes have the need to use Chrome next up is CRX Mouse if you're someone that prefers to use your mouse while in your browser instead of your keyboard you'll love this one it can help to boost productivity letting you use Mouse gestures for simple tasks here's a few examples you can do this anywhere on the page most of the built-in gestures begin with holding down the right button on your mouse you could go back a page hold the right button and drag left to go forward a page hold down the right button and drag right to close the current tab hold down the right button drag down and then drag right this won't work on Chrome's built-in web pages for example here on the Chrome web store but will work just about anywhere else you see additional gestures click the CRX Mouse icon in the upper right here you'll see a list of the most popular gestures you can do the camelizer is a must-have extension if you shop on Amazon it's from the folks at camel camel camel who've been featured in our useful website series this extension shows historical pricing data to help you determine if you're getting a good price when you're on a product page on Amazon click the camelyzer icon here in the upper right it'll show you a graph of that product's price history since landing on Amazon in this example at its peak it was selling for around 4 30 and now it's around 160. so based on that information it looks to be a good deal you can change the time frame of the graph from one month all the way up to all time colorblind by Dalton is an excellent extension for people with color blindness issues to help them see more colors while using any Chromium browser could benefit those of you affected by blue green or red color vision deficiencies after installing you'll need to set it up by clicking the colorblind icon first select the row of the least visible letters the first row is for those of you affected by green color deficiency the second is red and the third is blue which for me is where the letters are least visible then use the sliders below to adjust the color and severity
