[Music] the DC Multiverse is a place comprised of equal parts delight and phantasmagorical levels of complete sir reality after all with infinite alternate realities comes an endless ability to mess with them as the fate of Batman or Superman doesn't hinge on their well-being in a different universe so writers and artists conspired to make what is without a shadow of a doubt some of the weirdest worlds in comic history if you would think to create a version of earth populated by only werewolves or a universe where an anthropomorphic rabbit becomes a superhero who works with Superman and yet these are all real world than the DC Universe used to generate endless weird and wild storylines it's almost as though there's an unofficial competition that's been going on for years behind the scenes at DC where creators try and make the single strangest universe they can without getting caught otherwise there's literally no rational explanation for all the assorted peculiarities the DC multiverse brings to us that said when it results in getting to see a buff badass Tintin it's more than worth every piece of weirdness that comes along the way I'm so from what culture and it's time to talk about the 10 DC alternate universes you won't believe exist strap in folks number 10 the werewolf universe perhaps the single weirdest thing about Earth 387 note henceforth is the werewolf universe is that by all means it's actually one of the most normal worlds in the multiverse the werewolf universe is comparatively almost dull as every historical event remains the exact same and the everyone just happens to be a scooby-doo look-alike the whole time but yet we only know this universe exists because Supergirl once accidentally changed herself into a werewolf with a mysterious serum at the exact same time that the werewolf universe is Supergirl turned herself human with both heroes horrified by their new appearance they meet up in order to exchange serums in order to turn back to their preferred form number 9 the hippy universe in an alternate universe where the Justice League chose the significantly funnier name of the love syndicate of dreamworld the world revolves around drug culture similar to that found in the original hippie movement each hero has a name that revolves around some form of 60s drug slang with the flash being named speed freak and the Green Lantern being named Magic Lantern this initial team would also indiscernable reasons contain a neo-nazi and a vaguely punk looking version of Batman and Robin all of whom would be removed when the team were reintroduced in the Green Lantern series instead the league would get themselves Aleta in the form of the teenage President of the United States affectionately known as Prez record when a chill collection of weed smoking superheroes are one of the tamer DC universes you know the multiverse is well and truly weird as hell number 8 the tin universe there's no way to say this without it sounding weird so let's get things out of the way earth 11 is a universe in which Tintin is the last hope of the world as a ripped warrior who rides a wolf yes yes the exact Tintin you are thinking of the Jinja kid from the children's comics who goes on wacky antics with his Admiral friend why his Tintin been brought in to DC to be the hero of a dystopian future it's never really made clear while this buff ponytailed version of Tintin is completely surreal especially because again he doesn't belong in DC Comics it's also undeniably kind of cool to see a buff adult Tintin shoot a semi-automatic rifle on the back of a mutated wolf at the very least it's safe to say this is one universe that's likely to stay unique for a very very long time number 7 the marvel crossover universe unlike most other alternate universes earth 7640 2 is a unique universe in that it's the main crossover universe for collaborations between DC and Marvel this means that whenever you see DC a Marvel characters fighting or just in a comic together it's likely it's in this universe is it's the only one that allows all the roster of both franchises to co-exist it's a really clever way of framing these crossovers as it means to all the superheroes in the main universe can remain blissfully unaware of their rival franchise similarly any fight that happens can still technically be argued to not be entirely accurate as it's not in the Canon universe meaning that both DC and Marvel can have their characters lose without feeling like they've made their big hero seem weak it's not as hilarious as the werewolf or hippy universe but seeing two companies that often war with one another work together to make one magical joint universe it's just that little bit special likely because we'll probably never see it happen again number 6 every single animal universe find the right niche audience for comics can be incredibly hard especially when there is such a large potential audience of children that have yet to be fully tapped into with the comic market perhaps the weirdest attempt DC were made to tap into said market has to be making separate universes we're adorable humanized animals exist alongside our favorite superheroes the absolute pinnacle of this has to be the immaculately named captain carrot seeing Superman next to these anthropomorphic nightmares is something uniquely horrific and as such kind of impressive at the same time although all of these attempts failed were DC to try again they might find captain carrot gets a fair amount of popularity between both children and the similarly untapped furry market number five the one used to justify plot holes amongst all the various DC universes earth B is definitely the most interesting even if it doesn't hold the title of being the most crazy this is because earth B is the universe that's used to explain what a hero acts out of character when a plot doesn't quite make sense in the context of the main universe for example every time an antihero like Catwoman or Jason Todd is shown being unusually evil it can be explained by the comic taking place in the earth B universe making the alternate reality or sort of get-out-of-jail-free card for any mishaps or certain mistakes issues may have created well this is never directly addressed within the comics themselves it's nice to think the fans can just save any point in a DC plot they didn't like took place on earth B even if this obviously isn't really the case number 4 the one where everyone's a fish person a universe that raises many many questions and answers non-earth 265 is a planet where humanity evolved from cetaceans known better as aquatic mammals such as dolphins and whales while this has ample potential for a series of badass looking fish people these humans have just blew people really they're also weirdly prejudiced against humans who've evolved from primates possibly because of our lack of sweet gills and thus hate our heroes when they show up on the scene as it turns out they hate primates so much that they also want to destroy the main DC Universe setting up one of the most jarring rivalries in comic history that said the potential for some kickass whale folk is still very much alive so we still have our fingers crossed that the evil fish people of Earth 265 show up again number 3 the one where Batman loses it given both the popularity and the quality of nightfall many fans were apprehensive at the idea of a universe in which the story was reimagined but the dark multiverse proved itself well I'm truly up for the task helped in no small part by the fact that it revolves around a fascinating alternate timeline we're in Israel stabs Batman after Bane breaks spine before trapping him in a genuine further inspiring life support robot Ezreal visits this grotesque Twilight Zone scenario once a year which leaves Bruce a whole lot of time to stew over how mad he is about the whole scenario that's been built for him after 30 years of this treatment after being rescued by Shiva and her son and given a new body Batman is understandably still a little peeved at his captor and so murders him viciously and then turns on literally everyone having been completely broken by the traumatic experience it's about as dark as Batman stories come but it's also magnificent to see unfold especially while you're safe in the knowledge that this awful ordeal hasn't happened to our own Bruce Wayne number two the one where Superman marries everyone perhaps the single most messed up universe has to be the one that we briefly witness with an issue 57 of the Superman's girlfriend the series where the disturbing clock shows Lois Lane and Lana Lang mine washing an aged down Superman into falling in love with them it's legitimately one of the most messed up plot lines in the entirety of comic history is not only does it contain some serious child abuse but also a complete disregard of Superman's free will as the two women use every nefarious trick in the book to try and manipulate the Man of Steel into being coerced to being with them where to yet this plan ins up kind of working as the super child turns out to be from an alternate universe where he then marries both women was the one big difference in earth 51 is the bigamy is apparently legal in the most convenient twist in history number one the one with the Nazi STD Superman there is literally no limit to how weird DC's earth 17 is willing to get during its very brief stint in the spotlight despite having only ever appeared to us in brief glimpses the universe still managed to bring us a punker Green Lantern the world's hen chest Wonder Woman and a concerning Lee normal-looking flash actually top this surreal cast with a version of Superman named over man then add the fact he goes insane after getting a sexually transmitted disease and you have a beautiful disaster on your hands made all the more perfect when it's revealed that all the Justice League were cloned from over man meaning they're actually a sort of dystopian version of the Adams family more than anything over Man would later be redesigns that the symbol on his chest was a Nazi swastika just to try and make this universe even weirder than it already was to mixed success as Earth 17 was already a complete fever dream in the first place so what did you think
