i did this for so long and i was like why do i feel jittery and anxious and literally like i'm about to explode my mind is habitually going back to my gratitude list too bold too blunt i hope not this is all coming from a place of love these are different these are for sure different but if you're new here you know i don't do things the way the culture doesn't i don't do things that are just trendy i want real i want honest i want transparency and that's why i'm here and that's why i'm jumping if you will jumping into this uh industry of quote healthy living but we're doing it different here okay i have 10 healthy living habits that are small that are so simple if you take one or two of them your life will go in a different direction because we are focusing on stewarding the body instead of idle idolizing the body that just leads to emptiness but if we support our bodies so that we can handle what we need to handle in the day i feel like that's what healthy living is it's not weighing a certain weight fitting into your genes or looking a certain way or doing what the crowd is doing it's going around the crowd saying i'm doing what works for me and being confident in that so these are different and i'm glad that they're different because i want to give you relief and freedom to do your own thing and actually genuinely live with wellness i'm really glad you're here if you enjoy this stay a while do the things notifications if you feel like it no pressure but i'm just gonna start because this is fun and i feel like we're just chatting i wish i had my tea but i don't number one i know you've heard this before but it changed my life so it's number one and if you're gonna take anything with you let it be number one starting your day off with gratitude and i'm gonna tell you exactly how to do it so that it's so easy and it's not just adding another thing to your list because i know you have a lot on your plate already but right when you wake up have a sticky note or a scratched piece of paper or like a random piece of paper this is my everything journal that's literally a piece of crap but it's on my bedside table and when i wake up i lean over and i write down three things that i'm grateful for it takes me about 15 seconds but it starts my day off in a positive mindset i'm sharing this because i've been doing this for over a year and i have been noticing that in the hardships that i face in a day even when my life feels like it's shattering my mind is habitually going back to my gratitude list and that wasn't me it wasn't me in the moment saying i need a i need a break it was literally my mind doing this it was fascinating the first time it happened i was like whoa this is actually working so i don't know that's my story i'm a little bit dramatic i know that but um there's so much power to starting your day off in a positive mindset if you do it over and over and over it's gonna change your life number two is to look at the sun first thing in the morning and to do so outside this is a very detailed healthy living tip and very practical one as well when you look at the sun actually in the outdoor sun it's setting your circadian rhythm up for the day which is telling your body because your body knows different shades of light we all know that about blue light and red light all that kind of stuff your body knows the morning light and it's saying oh this is morning so don't produce melatonin in five hours which will happen if you look at your blue light screen because that's telling you it's one o'clock this is too confusing i hope not look at the sun first thing in the morning and it's gonna set you up for good sleep because your body's gonna know when to produce melatonin and when to calm your body down number three and don't kill me for saying this i'm sorry if i am upsetting you don't drink coffee first thing in the morning eat your breakfast first when you are drinking coffee first thing in the morning a lot of people do this to wake themselves up which means they're already starting behind the curve which means their body is already probably in fight-or-flight mode and so when you're drinking coffee first thing in the morning you're just pouring gasoline on a fire telling your cortisol to spike first thing in the day i did this for so long and i was like why do i feel jittery and anxious and literally like i'm about to explode it's because i wasn't nourishing my body giving the minerals the nutrients the protein that it needs to feel safe and fully nourished i was pouring gas on a fire drinking coffee first and i honestly like never could get into the habit of drinking coffee because i felt awful so the the benefits of eating cough drinking coffee with your meal or after your meal you're setting your energy levels up your cortisol isn't going to be as high you won't be as angry and stressed and overwhelmed it also helps people with anxiety i've read that in so many places also helps your hormones so really good things coming out of it don't kill the messenger number four is do some things that are uncomfortable for you i was perfectionist for so long and i know i'm not the only one when i say this it's easier to do things the right way and it wasn't until i created my youtube channel and started putting myself out there that i saw huge changes in my personality and just kind of became myself and had this inner confidence that i had never had before i wanted to give you some ideas of some things that are kind of uncomfortable to do when you're out and about and you see an elderly woman pushing her cart to the car maybe offer to put her bags in her cart for her and then take the cart to its little cart area or compliment somebody on their shoes or their hair clip a lot of these things are random acts of kindness but they're uncomfortable to do to complete strangers but you never know who could really need a little love and encouragement those are just a few things also stepping outside of your comfort zone walking in and asking for a job application or starting the youtube channel that you've been wanting to start for a very long time it took me too long to start this those are just some ideas of putting yourself in situations where you're forcing yourself to grow and if you just take that thing with you you're gonna see a change in your in your life number five is taking care of your skin there's a lot of things about skin out there i sure know that i wear a beauty counter also sometimes i put beef tallow on my face don't hate but i feel like i do have good skin and healthy skin starts from what you're eating so don't believe those companies that say this is going to get rid of rid of your acne it really starts with how your body is absorbing nutrients and whether or not you're eating things that are stressing out your body and causing acne to pop up number two stop over washing your face you're stripping the microbiome on your skin when you're constantly washing it with hot water or soap and soap and soap and soap soap i just splash my face with cold water in the morning apply some of my favorite beauty counter products and i put my makeup on at the end of the day that's when i use my beauty counter face wash as you can see i prioritize non-toxic products and then i wash my face with cold water in the morning that's my routine and i eat really clean i hope i'm not being insensitive to people who are struggling with acne there but it's so much simpler than you think and it's not about the products as much as it is as it is about your hormones and what you're feeding your body and again if you're drinking coffee first thing in the morning you are just exploding your stress hormones and that's not gonna help your face too bold too blunt i hope not this is all coming from a place of love and things that i had to learn myself okay i went through all of these number six is stop drinking tap water i don't like the fact that i'm saying stop i want to be more encouraging in my words filtered water is very beneficial for the body and it hydrates you a lot more than toxic tap water and toxic plastic water bottle water is that nicer i hope so see i'm working on things all the time okay people we rely on epic water filters in our house to easily drink the tap water but have it filtered tap water is just packed with toxins and chemicals that are cleaning the water and when you drink that you're drinking those chemicals and it's depleting you of nutrients it's not restoring your hydration it's actually stripping you and then there's a lot of harmful toxins in their cheap plastic water bottles so we and my family heavily rely on epic water filters we have the water dispenser that we keep right next to our sink and our kitchen and then we also have the epic water filter water bottles where we just take these everywhere with us tate and i both have one and my kids have one that they share it's just really nice to know that this is something i don't have to worry about and it's an incredible habit that you guys can pick up today i have been working with epic water filters i'm hesitant to share that even though it's awesome and so much fun i love their company um but i don't want this to be like a marketing ad it's something that we truly rely on in our family and i do have a discount family seven and i might get in trouble for this one too drinking cold things and eating cold foods creates stagnation in your body in your stomach and in your digestive system it makes absorption of nutrients and minerals a lot harder because your body is working on warming up those things instead of working on absorbing those nutrients it's a traditional chinese medicine tidbit of knowledge that i've learned over the past couple years because i've struggled with digestive stuff in the past i don't anymore and i'm so grateful for that but getting rid of cold stuff was huge in my healing and in regaining energy um so whenever i do have gold things i drink a warm tea before every time i go out to dinner i have a warm tea that's what i order if i'm drinking a cold smoothie i actually pour hot water into it to make it more of like a neutral temperature instead of cold there are so many benefits that come to it really when you're eating cold things your body's not absorbing those those nutrients so i hope i'm not upsetting anyone who eats smoothies often because that was me when i first heard this i was like no but there you go number eight what is your favorite stillness activity and i purposely wrote it as a question so that i'm not telling you what to do because we all live different lives develop different schedules and we all like different things so on my list of stillness things that i love is i love making tea i love sitting in front of a fire i love playing cards with my husband and i love watching like the chosen or the holiday those are movies that i just have on repeat these days but some people like meditation some people like walking some people like reading some people like watching netflix i encourage you to find a stillness thing that doesn't deplete you but rejuvenates you and include it in to your everyday routine whether it's at night or in the morning or in the afternoon or a lunch break something like that where it can recharge you and just kind of bring you joy it's just a little tip that's like do something that you like every day instead of succumbing to the pressure of working working working nine ten minutes of movement i'm just going to leave it at that moving your body moves the circulation moves your blood which nourishes your brain your stomach your skin your digestive system there's so many benefits to moving and it's not just about getting ripped and fitting into your jeans again it's about nourishing your body and stewarding your body treating it as a temple but the pressure of doing things a certain way you guys i used to work out for two hours a day because i thought that was quote health nah i live a pretty active life because of my kids but on my work days i try to get a 10-minute brisk walk-in or 10 minutes of a yoga flow or 10 minutes of weights normally it turns into more but if i just mentally say just do it a little little tiny bit every day it's actually really beneficial okay just taking the burden off of you hoping to at least and number 10 is create a running list of things that you're working on in life in general look at it daily rewrite it daily and notice that i'm not telling you to manifest your life and to try to control everything but rather give yourself grace look at yourself in the eye and say i'm not good at this and i keep failing at this i'm going to keep working on it it's different than manifesting and i like it that way i feel like manifesting is just trying to control your life and writing things down and working on things that you're bad at is more so saying like i can't do it all and i'm gonna give myself grace the same way the lord gives us grace and i'm going to continue to work on it and you guys i've been working on one particular thing for 90 days and it's so annoying but it's a good reminder that i am just a wreck no i'm just kidding um it's a good reminder of the lord's grace and that we are allowed to work on things and he loves us regardless it's just it's really helped me to be more mindful and more present and more intentional and the good and the not so good parts of me so i hope these help you that's all i've got for you
