out gold scooby-doo Scooby dum scooby-doo got the good genetics and his family a great long life nice coat of fur and the ability to speak well kind of as the mystery solving canine became popular we were slowly introduced to more and more family members there was the short and emotional scrappy-doo and his little known cousins Scooby dum the dim-witted character was well as dumb as they come sporting a lighter coat than scooby-doo Scooby dum made his debut on the scooby-doo show whoo try saying that 10 times the dog was obsessed with becoming a police officer even though he had no skills at sleuthing and seemed to be the polar opposite of Scooby Doo Scooby dum wasn't scared of the ghosts and monsters everyone encountered because he was often unaware that they were even around stereotypical character only appeared in four episodes of the show before he disappeared completely apparently the dumb jokes could only go so far before viewers got bored maybe mystery Inc abandoned him like they did with scrappy-doo back in the day animators were also really inconsistent with the backstory of Scooby dum and a couple episodes referred to him as Scooby Doo's brother even though the fact is untrue as a new scooby-doo film goes into development we'll have to wait and see as Scooby dum makes his long-awaited return to the cartoon canon I'd run sort of attached to it you couldn't stay on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mona Lisa over the years if there's one thing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has lacked it's true romance of course there's a lot of open flirting and innuendo with April O'Neil but the show never moved forward with a human turtle relationship and an attempt to increase the romance in the original 1987 animated series we were presented with a character known as Mona Lisa the episode titled Raphael meets his match we learned Mona's back story as she transforms from a girl to a salamander type character after a nuclear waste incident Raphael and Mona form a romantic relationship with Mona making the move to New York City by the end of the episode the whole story was exciting for a lot of viewers back in the early 90s eagerly awaited Saturday to Saturday as the story continued only a dinner despite making the trip to the Big Apple Mona Lisa never returned her characters were completely cut out and now we know why Raphael can be a little hot-headed character did return in a completely different form for the 2012 Nickelodeon reboot on the new show she appeared in multiple episodes and shared some on-screen kisses with Raph hey Timmy you help me bury this bone in this bag of evidence I know what you're thinking but you're unrelated with a fairly oddparents Sparky if it ain't broke don't fix it for years spongebob squarepants has been working well basically telling the same types of stories including repeated attempts to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula Fairly OddParents was right up there with spongebob until timmy turner's life turned into even more of a chaotic mess after introducing us to Cosmo and Wanda's child named poof the fairy clan decided to add a pet into the mix meet Sparky fairy dog who grants wishes delivers bad puns and feels like a weird piece of fanfiction that turned into a whole season of The Fairly OddParents didn't the animators learn anything when Homer's dog character Poochie was added to the Itchy and Scratchy show on The Simpsons Sparky lasted throughout all of season 9 but when season 10 premiere dog was just gone no on-screen explanation or storyline Sparky disappeared faster than the poop of a magic wand and fans were actually excited to see the dog go until they realized he was being replaced with Chloe Chloe is Timmy's next-door neighbor and someone Timmy now has to share his fairies win bet he wishes the annoying dog could just come back Arnold don't be sad you've taught me that some people can be trusted hey Arnold Tucker hey Arnold's PS 118 is filled with all kinds of students and quirky characters early on in the series we meet a basketball all-star named Tucker Tucker is actually the son of Coach Wittenberg and all the other players have one directive pass the ball to Tucker of course by the end of the episode Tucker and his dad learned the value of teamwork and the peers like Arnold actually made a new friend or so we thought Tucker just disappeared from the show probably taking his talents from New York to the city of Miami the odd thing about Tucker is his damn coach Wittenberg stayed around not only did the coach appear in multiple episodes but so did his wife the multiple sports including bowling and synchronized swimming we see Wittenberg lead Arnold and his friends with Tucker nowhere to be seen and another odd choice coach Wittenberg and his wife Tish decide to renew their vows he asked Arnold to be his best man at the wedding and Tucker doesn't even show up for that event Tucker's disappearance created a whole lot of mystery but we see him reunite with his parents and the recently released Hey Arnold the jungle movie where he appears in one scene with his parents Looney Tunes Moscow many people can name the original Looney Tunes characters there's Bugs Bunny Daffy Duck can of course Bosco if you're asking who in the world is Bosco then you're probably like many cartoon fans grew up watching Looney Tunes long before a Looney Tunes was even put in color Bosco was cut from the drawing board and eliminated from the lineup the character himself was a music loving goofball who played songs caused mischief and what's the star of several animated shorts the biggest problem with Bosco was his reported design inspired by blackface characters controversial design is not something the family-friendly cartoons wanted to display and definitely not something you'd see walking around as a mascot at Six Flags in the 1930s Bosco's owners got into a dispute with Warner Brothers and took the character to a new animation studio there Bosco was retooled and completely transformed before disappearing from animation forever oddly Bosco made a random return in the animated series Tiny Toon Adventures on the show Babs discovers Bosco who has been transformed into a dog rather than a character in blackface Bosco's historical relevance has been seen in several historical Looney Tunes DVD releases but the character will probably never star in a new short again you gotta eat your spinach and you'll want to be strong like your great-great great-great-great uncle my new Popeye nephews Popeye the sailorman spends his life on ships hanging out at bars and getting into fistfights with the mighty blue dome for some reason the animators decided to add some more kid-friendly content with the introduction of Popeyes for childish nephews officially known as peopIe pit by pop by and pop by boo by all right the odd characters look more like Popeyes illegitimate children and have a hankering for spinach just like their uncle the character is pretty much served as Popeyes version of Disney's Duck nephews Huey Dewey and Louie and poopy anyway the characters mainly appeared in Popeye cartoons during the 1950's oddly enough the foursome buried and count from time to time sometimes there were only three and other times only two of the nephews appear but the time the 60s rolled around the nephews were lost at sea never to be animated again there was no goodbye episode and Popeye didn't even mention them the characters were used for pieces of merchandise but weren't included in any animated revivals or the live-action version of Popeye once Popeye had his own child named sweetie there was no need for the nephews to appear and no explanation was given about the characters disappearance hopefully Bluto didn't get to them for revenge where are my shoes right in front of you dear where they're supposed to be well I just want to be sure the Jetsons orbitty animated pets are a common part of cartoons items the story and humor spongebob has Gary the Flintstones have Dino and Tommy pickles has spike the love of pets also extends into the future as the Jetsons are proud owners of a pet dog named Astro for the whole first season of The Jetsons 1980s reboot we get to love Astro as he goes on adventures with a good old Jetson family and their youngest child Elroy even though Astro was a perfectly good pet show's creators decided to mix things up right at the start of season two with the introduction of orbitty orbitty is a strange-looking alien creature Elroy brings home after discovering an egg the character appears in much of season 2 including being the main focus of a Halloween episode by the time the third season premiered in 1987 orbitty was nowhere to be found and no one mentioned the alien creature not even Elroy maybe he was sent back to his home planet horror maybe two pets were just a bit too many the show even had the chance to tie up loose ends with the official Jetsons movie in 1990 orbitty was left out of that production as well singing again love neighbors wish I was deaf The Simpsons her twenty-seven seasons and a boatload of content Simpsons family tree has become complicated over the years we've been introduced to cousins uncles step parents and long-lost relatives one of the characters closely related to the family was herb Powell through a confession from homers father Abe Simpson we learn Homer has a half-brother who was born shortly before he was his name is heard and even though the characters look similar herbs life is filled with a lot more success in homers herb has a head of pull hair a college degree and a successful career of course homers crazy ideas and poor car design skills forced Ferb to lose all of his money but the brothers eventually make up and herb returns for a few episodes if you're still looking to see some additional sibling story arcs don't bother herb hasn't appeared on the show in years and homers brother is officially back to long-lost status once again the character is voiced by Danny DeVito and even if the actor didn't feel like returning somebody else could have voiced the character like many plots and stories don't try piecing any timelines together Ferb could randomly return in the future as The Simpsons continues to deliver unpredictable plot twists and story changes year after year that happened here something very bad recess miss Prachi recess was really ahead of its time when first premiering in 1997 one of the main reasons why is because of the teacher miss rocky with great opinions and a feminist attitude miss krotkiy was a great teacher for the students and stole all of the classroom scenes when recess wasn't the main focus her classroom lessons were often aimed and transformed into life lessons for children as they took anecdotes and facts out onto the crazy world of the asphalt playground for the first five seasons of the show miss grotty was the main teacher and appeared in almost every episode featuring a classroom she looked to be on the same path in season 6 after appearing in the special Halloween premiere Ellison one week later and miss Dracula's nowhere to be found season six is a shortened season with only a handful of episodes miss Gracchi ended up on the chopping block the teacher didn't even get to say goodbye to her longtime fourth-grade students for the special extended episode entitled taking the fifth grade hopefully she pulled a classic cartoon twist and moved up to the next grade with all of her students you know we're lucky to have a sister like bubbles who was only trying to remind us that we're a team yeah and then any personal differences we've got shouldn't stop us from saving the day and stuff the Powerpuff Girls miss cerebellum in an animated world crowded with male superheroes Powerpuff Girls was a refreshing twist on the genre the original 1998 series featured the girls as strong and independent without the need to rely on a man to get the job done on the show one of the Powerpuff Girls biggest inspirations was the mayor's assistant miss bellum through multiple stories we learned miss bellum has a lot of power and act as a great role model for the female heroes as the Powerpuff Girls relaunch was announced we all expected miss bellum to return to her role and serve as more inspiration for our favorite heroes but this would not be the case show's creators showcase miss bellum spake in an episode entitled by by Bella according to a note written by cerebellum herself the character uses all of her vacation time to go relax on the beach instead of serving for the mayor the result gives us a proper goodbye for the character puck and unnecessary the creators felt the character wasn't dressed appropriately enough for children and used that as their excuse to get rid of her then they proceeded to insult us by showing the elderly mayor in just his animated underwear
