when it comes to animation we generally think of the super popular and wonderful Disney films but with the Advent of Technology there are now several Studios that make amazing animated films however as with most successful franchises and businesses there always come the copycats who try to capitalize on the success they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery so let's check out some doesn't love penguins they're like tiny little nuggets who waddle and wear fancy tuxedos when it comes to films the award-winning documentary March of the penguins made us love them even more plus Morgan Freeman and Penguins is a golden combo that's a Surefire hit on the animated front we have had the amazing and beloved Happy Feet a film about a penguin who doesn't really fit in but ends up making a huge Splash Mumble is the main penguin who never finds his song but does find the music within himself the difference is he expressed it through dancing instead of singing but then we have tapy toes which clearly copied Mumble awesome tap dancing skills the plot of this film involves a penguin named Pingo who was raised by two birds that originally wanted to eat him for breakfast Pingo wants to fly but finds out he can't because as we all know Penguins can't fly okay so maybe the story isn't exactly the same and the animation isn't as great as Happy Feet but the tap dancing aspect is definitely copied as is the cover of the DVD it's basically the same layout and the font of the title is exactly the same well it's certainly not going to be a cakewalk but I'm going to make a champion out of him wings with the new Cars 3 trailer making its rounds in exciting crowds we know that cars has been a pretty successful and beloved franchise naturally there had to have been a ton of copycats for this and believe us there were some pretty bad ones but but believe it or not even Disney themselves jumped onto the bandwagon they created their own spin-off of their successful franchise called planes this film featured a crop dusting plane who was afraid of heights but wanted to compete in an aerial race Disney likes to strike while the iron is hot and so they even gave this spin-off a sequel planes fire and Rescue but before Disney jumped onto the bandwagon there was a film called Wings the film is definitely bested by its Disney superiors in terms of plot animation and quality but even still it received a sequel Wings Sky Force Heroes at least we can all agree that the title is pretty badass despite the downgrade in animation quality suit yourself nevertheless this film was a blatant attempt at copying the style of the car's franchise chop KCK Panda the premise of a panda becoming a Kung Fu Master is interesting to say the least pandas are known for their cute chubby and somewhat lazy demeanor so the thought of one even a cartoon one seems pretty funny right yes it does which is exactly why the Kung Fu Panda franchise is so successful that and they have great Di dialogue animation and a star studded cast including the hysterical Jack Black Dustin Hoffman Angelina Jolie Ian McShan Jackie Chan Seth Rogan and Lucy Lou one of the several Shameless ripoffs of our beloved martial arts loving panda is Renegade animations chop KCK Panda this 41 minute directed video knockoff is available on Netflix it's part of the slew of new available films that filled the Gap now that their contract with Disney has expired subscribers were naturally upset about Netflix choosing to fill the Disney void with cheap mockbusters total bummer the story Center around a panda named Lou Who has to find his own inner strength and fight some baddies he much like Kung Fu Panda Po is a Daydreamer who loves martial arts Lou however has a son who he lies to about studying at the local Dojo when he's only a janitor sure the movie has some heart maybe a little too much heart but it's still a blatant ripoff of Kung Fu Panda you want a piece of me yeah yeah o I'm scared now Izzy's way home when Finding Nemo hit theaters there was no shortage of love and fandom for the fish plck so what do Studios do when they have a hit oh de did you say sequel that's right which is how we got Finding Dory the much anticipated sequel to Nemo when the film poster was released fans burst with excitement while sequels aren't always as good as the first films Dory did not disappoint The Next Step other Studios capitalizing on the hype of course it's foolproof Indie Production Studio the Asylum jumped in on the ocean action with their Shameless ripoff Izzy's way home the Asylum is famous for its shark NATO franchise and launched their animation division after they released Izzy a month after Dory was the CEO of the Asylum has stated that their VFX Department already created animated creatures for their liveaction film so this was just a natural step the film stars Tori Spelling and nyns Joey faton and is about an aquarium fish who gets lost in the ocean with the help of other Misfit sea creatures she learns how to be true to herself as well as Brave The Perils of the deep a lost fish who was trying to find their way home sounds pretty familiar doesn't it my name is Doug I have just met you and I love you what's up one of the most heart-wrenching and heartwarming films that has been made is the Beautiful film up Disney really knew how to TG at our heartstrings by showing us a beautiful love story then ripping it away from us the story features Carl who loses his wife after they grow old together however because they never got to fulfill their travel dreams of finding Paradise Falls he decides to take it upon himself to make them happen With a Little Help from Millions upon millions of balloons along the way he discovers an accidental stowaway Boy Scout named Russell Hi Mr Frederickson and are later joined by a talking dog named dug squirrel sweet movie right well it looks like some filmmakers in Brazil thought so also the film what's up balloon to the rescue is a Brazilian film that was released back in 2009 this film features a quirky Professor named Dr crumb who turns his house into a hot air balloon with the help of a Magic Stone he and his niece and scientific friends go around defeating aliens watching this might leave you feeling a bit deflated as it's not quite as heartfelt but that's okay you can still go watch up a few times to be uplifted never bother me anyway Snow Queen when frozen hit theaters it was Ice pandemonium kids and parents everywhere were surrounded by the lyrics to the award-winning song Let It Go we bet you're singing it right now aren't you don't worry so are we the film broke records and rightfully so it was beautifully animated had a great story about sisterly love featured independent female protagonists and of course catchy songs oh and we can't forget about Olaf the film was Loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale The Snow Queen Frozen did a great job but revamping the tale so much so that the film went on to make unbelievable amounts of money with that said the mockbusters were ready to roll in enter Snow Queen a movie that tells the story of an evil Snow Queen who covers the land in ice the film was originally released in Russia and seems to have had good reviews but it looks like the film didn't translate well the plot is convoluted and leaves us with more questions than answers like why is there a greenhouse in the middle of this Iceland how were there even flowers in a frozen Wasteland we know the goal of this film was to be released with frozen so it looks like they didn't put too much effort into perfecting the plot R ratat Towing ah food we all love it don't we we especially love those who can cook great meals for those of us who don't know how to cook or are discouraged by our lack of skills we learned that everyone can actually cook this was all thanks to the Disney film Ratatouille this is the story of a rat named Remy who dreams of being a world-renowned chef at a prestigious restaurant dreams are great but Remy doesn't just dream he actually is really really skilled but when rookie Chef Linguini catches Remy adding ingredients in the kitchen he did what any of us would do freak out don't worry though Linguini who isn't as skilled as Remy strikes up a deal and they end up working together like with most Disney movies it all ends up working out in the end a rat who loves to cook and takes the art of cooking very seriously that sounds like a good story right well the filmmakers who created the blatant ripoff ratat Towing seem to think so this 44-minute animated film is about a rat named Marcel Towing who owns the best restaurant in Rio de janer he's a chef like Remy but the difference here is that he steals ingredients from Human restaurants to keep serving the best quality meals take and that cut it out Mars your anger always gets the better of you Kiara the Brave the Pixar film Brave was a Smash Hit who doesn't love a Spitfire princess who stands up for her beliefs also that awesome red curly hair how cool is Merida we love that this story about an independent spunky princess was a hit with families everywhere especially because it focuses on the importance of family specifically through the relationship of a mother and daughter this next film on our list is not only confusing but the subpar animation does not even make it worthwhile the film was originally called Super K but was renamed Kiara the Brave by American Distributors in order to cash in on Pixar's Brave the film takes place in a special world called Dream Zone which is ruled by King Maximus his evil brother bad Mass plans to overthrow him and creates a boy superhero named Super K but he can't control his powers and is disowned by bad mess super then teams up with friends to protect the Dream Zone from being overtaken where is Kiara in all of this Well turns out she's not even a main character what trickery talk about false advertisement alone at last tangled up when it comes to Disney the bar for imitation has been set very high Walt Disney was a stickler for quality and it definitely shows even to this day naturally there have been tons of copycats throughout the years one of the more recent accounts involves a Shameless attempt at copying one of our favorite films a UK company called bright spark production is behind the film called Tangled Up if you look at the DVD cover the font is almost identical they've even included Disney's Rapunzel Signature Golden Hair sure you can argue that Rapunzel is a fairy tale that was known long before Disney got a hold of it but come on look at this there's absolutely no denying it I knew it bright spark has packaged several of their films to appear like those of Disney there were several customers that bought up their DVDs thinking that they were the highly anticipated titles the image is totally misleading isn't it but get this the title credits of Tangled Up reveal the film's title to actually be britannica's fairy tales from around the world technically it's not a full-fledged ripoff but a bunch of animated shorts however this doesn't change the fact that their DVD cover was totally catered to look like Tangled you look ridiculous I know a car's life Sparky's big adventure kachow with Cars 3 freshly in theaters it's no surprise that mockbusters were hot on the trail we know that cars has built a successful franchise heck they even have their own spin-offs with planes Lightning McQueen is a beloved Hot Rod gracing the silver screens and in this new installment he wants to prove that he still has what it takes to be the best race car in the world although now he has to go toe-to-toe with the new generation of race cars a car's life tells the story of Sparky a young car trying to carve his own path in life however Sparky has his own plans he speeds and deliberately drives over potholes and uses them to launch himself into the air his dad Fender warns him to use caution and restraint but Sparky is one wild hot rod who wants to be independent he's influenced by diesel the bad hot rod in town who is also the Widow of Fender's dead brother so much drama sounds like one of those Tel noas but with crudely animated cars like the movies it draws inspiration from Cars life is two sequels cars Life 2 and cars Life 3 Royal Heist we certainly hope the sequels got better but we aren't holding our breath that was incredible well there you have it which one of these ripoffs do you think was the worst
