you helping me piper you ready to go [Music] camping [Music] it's been raining every single day i've been able to mow the ground sounds like a sponge oh thank god it's raining again just when the pavement was just starting to dry another play time cut short huh pups boo to the rain i have good news it's raining again how's that good sarcasm so we've had this thing for how long a year and two months and eighteen thousand miles because we just just recently hit eighteen thousand miles we're actually on our idaho trip when it was the one year to the day and we had 15 000 miles on it yep to the day so that was actually pretty cool that we did that so we know a lot of you have been asking for a one-year review do we like it would we ever go back to a trailer what are some things that we like and dislike etc so i think we're gonna cover some of those right here since you are the towing backing guru yeah some people have wanted to know do you prefer a motorhome or a travel trailer fifth wheel for traveling uh now that we've had the motorhome experience i love the motorhome i cannot stress enough how much better it is what are some things about it that make it better uh it's a lot quicker to when you get to the campground to set up camp it's a lot quicker to break camp um it's nice having like you know we we tow your jeep just a two-door jeep where we got my four-door jeep and it's way easier to use those jeeps to run around town versus well what we had in the past was a dually pickup right we have taken that in downtown and it was a pain yeah and i think the overall travel experience is way better in a motor home because as you know you can just yeah i know some people say you shouldn't get up but you get up and you go to the fridge you go to the bathroom yeah you get treats for the dogs or treats for me while i'm driving yeah i even edit videos sometimes sitting here at the dinette and traveling a long distance like in a pickup truck i tend to cramp up back starts to hurt things like that yeah in this cab i have room you know i have room to stretch i don't feel all claustrophobic i agree i second all of those points what do you like the best that is a loaded question and i say that because there's so much about this rv that i love some of the things i really love are the amount of storage i love the washer and dryer that came with it i can do laundry while we go down the road i can't stress that enough that is amazing because we have the onboard generator so that's another plus that we like i like that it doesn't have too many slides and too many working components to mess up there is a floor plan where this is on a slide the dinette and then when it comes in it's an opposing and you only have this tiny little walkway so you'd be having to like almost shuffle through there so with the dogs it's really nice to have it more open i really like the kitchen i know it's not my typical kitchen there's no oven i've come to terms with that and i'm okay there is a convection i've made everything thanksgiving christmas dinners everything in there had no complaints whatsoever and now we got even more to love because we have these solid surface countertops which are have just been amazing the storage you like the storage i love the storage there's plenty in in the kitchen up above for the entertainment and the dogs are making noise getting the frisbee that she loves to chew on piper we're trying to make a video here we're trying to film here girl read the room so much storage i mean we have i can carry my kitchenaid mixer just like in here not very many people can do that last but not least the bedroom it may not look like much but we have slept so good in this bedroom and there's no lack of storage half of these aren't even used for anything there's one that has just extra sheets in it and that's it so i think the storage has been superb guy your tail is out of control you're crazy well mikey what do you really like i really like the international chassis there are people out there that will act like that's a bad thing because they're freightliner fanboys i don't know right but i really really really like the international chassis the cummins engine and the allison transmission it's like a power couple yeah it's only 300 horsepower but if you've watched our previous videos we went out west towing a jeep and it it really didn't phase it didn't phase it at all no i really like the outside storage we got a compartment there one there one there and they actually go all the way across to the other side so we've got storage on the other side as well with the airstream i love the airstream i really did but it just had that little trunk in the back and that was it yeah so our truck bed was pretty much our our storage space when we had the airstream and now i mean that's another benefit to the motorhome versus a trailer literally everything stays in here it does everything it's fully stocked ready to roll right now and we're not planning on leaving again for a couple days yeah is there anything that you don't like there's got to be something i mean you can't have good without bad right that is true i would say what i don't like or wouldn't prefer i should say is i don't like the colors of the floor also the texture of the floor is very difficult to get clean yeah don't mind the dirt yeah you can clearly see all of the dirt because it's so light i mean we camp a lot of places where it rains a lot so there's gonna be mud paw prints everything you can think of and it shows and it's very difficult to get it clean even with a mop so i don't like that i also don't prefer the color of the furniture literally everything except for the cabinets is like this cream color i'm just not a fan there's nothing wrong with it the cushions are actually very comfortable so i'll i'll live with that but yeah i don't mind the color of the furniture but the the color of the floor i would never ever choose that ever not if you ever plan on using it yeah i mean unfortunately this is with the head at the dealer on the lot or else we're going to order if we're doing something different of course piper interrupting again always down for a drink while we record i just died your turn what do you not like or not prefer as much you know i love having the hydraulic leveling system because i can use like the bluetooth app on my phone and make it level and stuff like that i find myself almost always manually leveling this thing because this equalizer system is garbage it is absolute trash it never is very efficient no it takes forever for it to level out when i do it manually i just you know do the back do the front and then side to side if i need to and i'm done in like a minute or two you tell this to auto level and you better clear your schedule for a while grab a pillow pack a lunch because it just continues to lift and lift and lift and lift and lift and adjust and adjust and then it's never level and all the tires are usually off the ground at that point and i've reset the null on this thing like i'll level it and reset the null i've done it over and over and over again equalizer system is not good the next thing that i really don't like is i cannot stand these steps i hate these steps with a passion they've already started to rust they started to rust when we were like six months in with it i feel like they started to rust way before it ever saw a drop of road salt they just rattle uh these these bolts just keep coming loose and there's some loctite running down there because i locked this one in and when they when it's raining and it's wet you will meet your maker yeah they got these like sticky uh sandpaper things on here but if you step an inch off of these and you're going to hit the ground i hate these steps yes and i honestly don't really know why they took off the factory steps for these i i've looked into replacing these with the oem factory steps i mean the fuel tanks behind this is dirty right now but we can polish it up make it look good it's aluminum right uh i went to the international dealer we actually have a sulking international like 12 miles from here it was going to be like over a thousand dollars for four steps you know two on each side yeah for something that came stock on this chassis yeah and nexus took them off i don't know what they did with them but they won't sell me any would we do it again yes i would i would as well and i loved the airstream you can ask mike how much i was like i don't think i'm gonna like this if we ever go back to like a truck and trailer setup again it will absolutely be an airstream i agree there are some other things that have you know tempted us but nothing will tempt me from a super c right now i think personally i like this motorhome more than with any other setup that we've had i agree it's just unbeatable at this point and you know nexus takes a lot of crap from the super c crowd because it's it's cheap cheap when we bought it it was 143 000 dollars we would not have a super c if it wasn't for nexus that is a hundred percent true period i mean that's like the top of our budget with 143 yeah and uh we're very happy with it and i wouldn't change a thing no i would buy it again in a heartbeat you just you can't compare the wraith to a show oh yeah yeah we had somebody a subscriber say if you spend you spend that kind of money you should have just got a show hauler we paid 143 a show hauler starts at 500 000. and that's like the bare bones not even built i believe they go from they're really close to a million dollars yeah and let's talk um maybe a jayco seneca that's their super city on the freightliner chassis and those are like 220 220 000 yeah so still still fairly reasonable for a super c but still way more than 143 444. it's out of reach for us not to mention those are all too long for our garage so what's up that's something that when we were shopping a must-have was it had to be short enough to fit in this garage and to be honest i feel like the length of this coach which is a nexus wraith 34w is perfect i really like the length for us and two dogs it's perfect a lot of you have also asked what made us go from a travel trailer to a motorhome not just necessarily a super c but a motor home in general uh i've always had an eye for class a's yes it's very classy a class a is like like a magnet just pulls me in every time every time and she was all about the super c hmm you can't beat your super saiyan and with my trucking background i just kept you know looking at super seas and like oh i got to have one someday i was torn between a class a and a super c obviously the super c won happy wife happy life you're right i am very happy with it and the reason why i was okay with going to a super c is it looks amazing come on you can't you can't beat that look and we've also never had a motor home before and i really just wanted to try it because we've owned 10 rvs up to this point and none of them were motorized so i needed to take that leap because you never know if you don't try it and a lot of people were surprised because one they haven't heard of nexus and then because of our videos they go look up nexus and they look up the wraith and they're surprised that one has hydraulic brakes and two it uh does not have air suspension it has springs yeah now that's a deal breaker for some people it's not for me i've been in trucking my entire life i have plenty of experience with air brakes air brakes absolutely have a cool factor to them i'm not going to lie yeah but driving this wraith not once have these hydraulic brakes ever felt like they're underpowered not once i'm not gonna lie air brakes absolutely have more braking force but they also have more maintenance in my humble opinion and there's a lot of people that don't know anything about the maintenance air brakes i mean you got an air compressor you got an air dryer and you got slack adjusters and you got rubber diaphragms in your brake chambers and all that stuff over time needs needs maintenance as far as the air ride goes people think that air ride is the end all well i hate to break it to you but um liquid springs we'll put air ride to shame yeah and they currently are like a lot of super cd owners yeah the the problem with liquid springs i would absolutely love to add them to this but it's about twelve thousand dollars to add it so it's a big price and the way that we trade we'd never see the return and it's funny you say that because i don't think we're gonna trade anytime soon i really don't i know i felt that way about the airstream though but i do have a different feeling about this race even if we did spend the 12 grand for for liquid springs on top of 143 that we purchased this for we're still way ahead versus buying a nexus ghost which has the air riding air brakes yeah that's true uh but the the prices of these things have gone up we paid 140 243 somewhere in that area but now the same model is going to run you about 165 yeah so they all have gone up which means we're sitting kind of nice yeah we're sitting in a much better spot financially because anybody with an rv knows it does not gain any value it only depreciates right same with vehicles and everything that we've owned in the past year has held its value or gone up so yeah thank you covid for me right let's value this go up for us hopefully it doesn't drop back down like a rock so fingers crossed there in the end i absolutely would buy another nexus product i absolutely would the thing i like about nexus is that they actually listen this is true we've uh brought up many of things and they have listened and even started putting in the upgraded springs as an rv package on your chassis yeah we were kind of like the guinea pig we worked with international and international corporate was listening and nexus is putting the springs on all of their units that we put on this one yep so you're welcome everyone who has one with the already upgraded springs built into your chassis and if you just drop by nexus to the factory you can talk to dave middleton the owner himself yes he even gives out his cell phone number sometimes on the web pages and everything like that yeah so he really he he's a genuine person he really wants to succeed and he is trying hard so we do like that you helping me piper you ready to go camping you guys may remember in our last video that the front end of the race here was very squeaky going down the road we got a pretty good time here at tater crate i have been busy putting in some new bolts i didn't want like a hex head sticking up so i found these these flathead connecting bolts and i've tightened down to the point where they're actually countersunk so it's super nice down here on the bottom side you can see i got a washer and a lock nut and a nut on there there's a steel bar that runs across here's a steel tube so this is sandwiching the roof of the cab to the rest of the body hopefully this will prevent any movement between the two when you're going down the road and stop that squeaking i've got four in here right now i'm gonna put in a couple more i think now i'm gonna call this good gotta be better than nothing i'm really looking forward to trying it out make sure it stopped all the squeaks now we only have one thing left to do and that's to take for a test drive see if they actually made the stick squeaking stop pretty quiet it's uh kind of eerily quiet here all the windows out yeah wow i can like hear things that we don't normally hear this is so quiet also for those of you who have been wondering or asking those magnets that might added to the drawers they haven't really come open since oh yeah they've been great since then yeah so i'm gonna call those a cheap fix win what do you think it's way quieter there's still just a teeny tiny little bit of squeaky yeah but you're gonna have a little bit i think it's like 99 better oh yeah it's night and day we're back to being able to hold a normal level conversation so that's been nice man that was a really quiet ride i like it yeah me too it was a good uh upgrade it was a cheap easy fix yeah what did it cost you total i don't know 15 yeah so i'd say that's well worth it to get this type of ride quality back it kind of made me feel like we're going back in time and when it used to be quiet like this and over over the time and trips it just got more and more squeaky so the bolts in the uh and the cab overhead was probably a success i would say great success two thumbs up well worth it if you do have a nexus and you do have those squeaks i highly suggest doing what mike did it's easy to do it was well worth it it is so hot in here 79 degrees it's so hot see what i want to do get our hot tub right here and we got our outside tv right there i want to put in like a split unit ac either like there or there what do you guys think let me know so if you guys have any more questions about nexus or the wraith or anything in general just leave it in the comments and lynn will get back to you also if you like this video please give it a thumbs up we appreciate that until next time see ya see you pipe says see ya oh she does a psycho [Music] you
