live programming touch hearts open hearts open minds we thank you for hearing our prayer for we ask it in Jesus name Amen the last presidential election was one for the history books not since the Chicago Daily Tribune wrongly heralded the triumph of Thomas e Dewey / Harry Truman in the 1948 election has there been such a shocking result to a United States presidential election the mainstream media was certain the 2016 election would result in the crowning of Hillary Clinton as the 45th President of the United States however as election results came in on election evening the media notables expressed their unbelief some shedding bitter tears others threatening to leave the country and yet others predicting a doomsday scenario the question how it was possible for an irreverent and inexperienced and unseasoned candidate to win the election over a seasoned political veteran I firmly believe that Trump's victory is due to a great degree to the campaign slogan that he adopted for his campaign the key to the slogan I believe is the word again you see the word again suggests that America was once great and it lost its greatness and needs to recover the greatness that it lost and the electorate bought into that theme big time so this leads us to ask a very important question and that is what made America great what is the secret of America's power and prosperity is it her vast geographical extension of 3.8 million square miles is it her 325 million in population is it her beautiful landscapes like Yosemite Sequoia in the Pacific Coast Highway is it her abundant natural resources is it the ingenuity and creativeness of her people is it her rich historical heritage is it the multiracial and multicultural makeup of its inhabitants is it her powerful weaponry and military is it her booming economy with low unemployment and low inflation are these the things that make America great the answer to this question is no personal experience taught King Solomon what makes a nation truly great in proverbs 14 verse 34 the wise man stated righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people of course the question is how does a nation become righteous and therefore great the answer is that a nation becomes righteous when its population is pious and lives in harmony with God's commandments this is the reason why God instructed Israel in Deuteronomy 6 and verse 4 therefore be careful to observe them this is God's statutes God's laws for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say surely this nation is a wise and understanding people be careful to observe them God's commandments however government legislation has no inherent power to make a nation righteous and therefore great a nation becomes righteous when the church leavens society by preaching the Word of God when ministers preach the word it penetrates to the depths of the heart and changes lives and as a result society is transformed the parable of eleven that Jesus gave in Matthew chapter 13 illustrates how it works a society grows by a power within not by force from without in the 1990s when the Christian Coalition was flexing its muscles to influence government columnist Cal Thomas wrote the following words if we will not be constrained from within by the power of God we must be constrained from without by the power of the state acting as God's agent even a cursory look at the Daily News reveals that American society is to a great degree unconstrained and is in the process of moral decay mass shootings racial strife the OPI opioid crisis increasing natural disasters political corruption sexual abuse party strife glorification of alternative lifestyles economic greed and the oppression of the poor seemed to be the order of the day does the moral disintegration of America oh oh it's woes - the failure of government to act as God's agent as was stated by Cal Thomas or is there a deeper more compelling reason for the disintegration of American society I believe the deeper reason for the disintegration of American society is the failure of the church to fulfill its divine mission Protestantism both liberal and conservative has forgotten that society is transformed by the preaching of God's Word through the power of the Holy Spirit however instead of calling sin by its right name and encouraging sinners to repent and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord Protestantism has become worldly in its focus instead of preaching the word liberal Protestantism has accommodated its message to the whims of culture embracing what is politically correct moreover conservative Protestantism has centered more often than not on a prosperity gospel a gospel of signs and wonders a gospel of psychological self-help a gospel of political activism a gospel that overemphasizes God's grace at the expense of his law thus the Protestant churches have lost their power and see the aid of government as the last resort to solve the severe problems that they themselves have created in the great controversy page 443 Ellen White explains that something similar happened in the early church this is how it reads I quote when the early church became corrupted by departing from the simplicity of the gospel and accepting heathen rites and customs she lost the spirit and power of God and in order to control the consciences of the people she sought to support the support of the secular power so when the church loses the spirit and power of God it sees as a last resort to appeal to the secular power to change society Protestant megachurch pastors flaunt multi multi-million dollar homes yachts corporate jets limousines thousand dollar suits lavish vacations and as a result they have understandably turned to success a secular society against religion these teachers instruct their followers to be greedy to become rich and increased with goods that salvation by grace exonerates them from keeping God's law instead of being the light of the world the church has embraced its darkness instead of being the salt of the earth the church has lost its savor the church has to a great degree failed to leaven society from within and things are getting so bad that the church feels the need to recruit government to fix the problems through legislation several years ago judge Roy Moore the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court smuggled a five thousand three hundred pound monument into the state building the mine unit contained the Ten Commandments his motivation was good but it was misguided how can the Ten Commandments written on a monument of stone transform society the Apostle Paul had it right when he wrote that change only comes when God writes his law on the tables of the human heart second Corinthians chapter 3 and verse 3 I remember when I was growing up that my mother would wash out my mouth with soap when I said a bad word one day while I was savoring the soap I said to her mom you're going about it the wrong way it does no good to wash out my mouth with soap what you need to do is wash out my heart because from the abundant of the heart the mouth speaks you see it's the heart that needs to be changed not necessarily the behavior because when the hardest changed the behavior will take care of itself so what is the solution to the woes of American society how can America recover the greatness that it lost is government the solution Romans 13 has the answer in this passage the Apostle Paul explains that there are two different motivations for obeying the laws of civil government the first motivation is fear of punishment from without and the other is obedience for the sake of conscience from within the Apostle Paul admonished Christians in Romans 13 and verse 5 the following words therefore you must be subject that is to the civil authorities not only because of wrath that is not only because you are afraid that you're going to get punished but also for conscience sake society is safe when citizens are motivated to keep the law of God not from fear of punishment but because the Spirit is in the heart when the Spirit of God guides the conscience respect for parents is paramount life is safe marriage is safe property is safe and reputation is safe leaven works from inside out to transform society and as a result a principled people will elect pious representatives how did Jesus our perfect example relate to the civil government of his day how did Jesus see the relationship between the church and civil government jesus is our example so we should have the same attitude that he had let me read first of all Luke 17 verses 20 and 21 where Jesus is speaking about the kingdom of God the Pharisees believe that the way to establish the king of the kingdom of God was by force and the Pharisees came they said you know is the kingdom of God near notice what jesus answered the kingdom of God does not come with observation the word observation means an external display the kingdom of God does not come with an external display nor will they say see here or see there for indeed the kingdom of God is within you so the important thing is not establishing the kingdom of God from without but implanting the principles of the kingdom of God in the human heart and then the kingdom of Christ will be established on earth Ellen White explained the meaning of Luke 17 verses 20 and 21 in desire of Ages page 509 she wrote the government under which Jesus lived was corrupt and oppressive on every hand were crying abuses extortion intolerance and grinding cruelty yet the Savior attempted no civil reforms he attacked no national abuses nor condemned the national enemies he did not interfere with authority or administration of those in power he who was our example kept aloof from earthly governments you say now that doesn't sound like Jesus he kept away from earthly governments he attempted no civil reforms he attacked no national abuses come on pastor that doesn't sound like Jesus but if you read the Gospels that is the Jesus of the Gospels she continues why did Jesus keep aloof from earthly governments not because he was indifferent to the woes of men but because the remedy did not lie in merely in merely human and external measures to be efficient the cure must reach men individually and must regenerate the heart and the human agency for the cup the accomplishment of this work is the teaching and practicing of the Word of God so Jesus knew that the solution was to change the heart of human beings and then society changes is not by legislation it is not by force it is not from outside that the kingdom of Christ is established now there's a story in the Bible that might serve as an analogy of what is ahead for the United States we are all acquainted with the story of the muscle man Samson God endowed Samson with supernatural strength for a specific purpose the uncircumcised Philistines sorely oppressed Israel and God raised up Samson and imparted to him every asset and power to deliver all deliver Israel from oppression and from bondage Ellen White in the book adventist home page 460 explained the assets that God gave to Samson to fulfill this worthy purpose of delivering Israel from the oppression of a Philistines I read from evanesce home page 460 God's providential care had been over Samson that he might be prepared to accomplish the work which he was called to do at the very outset of life he was surrounded with favorable conditions for physical strength intellectual vigor and moral purity he received every asset from God to have the power to deliver God's people from their bondage to the Philistines yet as we know there was a secret to Samson's power and strength as long as Samson was faithful to the secret of his strength he was invisible invincible however if for some reason he could be enticed to divulge his secret and disobey God he would lose all his strength and it would lead to his ruin in early life Samson lived up to his divine calling but when he entered manhood a change took place Ellen White describes this change in the book conflict and courage chapter 125 just as he was entering manhood the time when he must execute his divine mission the time above all others when it should have been true to God Samson connected himself with the enemies of Israel you see Samson began to compromise his principles the principles that made him great a relentless woman named Delilah her name means the consumer was successful in enticing Samson to enter into an illicit sexual relationship and he finally divulged his secret and she in turn cut off his hair which led to his ruin now how does this story give us an illustration of what's ahead for the United States of America like Samson God raised up the United States to free his people from bondage that they had suffered under papal rule for 1260 years God gave this nation the young nation all of the resources to become the greatest nation on earth to deliver the oppressed and provide refuge for those who were persecuted like Samson the United States has a secret of its power and prosperity as long as the United States abides by its secret nothing can lead to its downfall Ellen White explained in 1888 what the secret of power of the United States is it's none of those things that we mentioned at the beginning those things are nice but those are not what makes America great this quotation is great controversy page 441 republicanism and Protestantism by the way that means civil and religious liberty and to have civil and religious liberty you have to have separation of church and state history proves that beyond any doubt so republicanism and Protestantism became the fundamental principles of the nation these principles listen carefully these principles are the secret of its power and prosperity it's none of the things that we mentioned before the secret of its power and prosperity are its founding principles republicanism and Protestantism civil and religious liberty the separation of the civil power from the power of the church once again republicanism and Protestantism became the fundamental principles of the nations of the nation these principles are the secret of its power and prosperity the oppressed and drowned trodden see here's the persecuted the oppressed and downtrodden throughout Christendom have turned to this land with interest in hope millions have sought its shores and the United States has risen to a place among the most powerful nations on earth unfortunately like Samson prophecy tells us that the government of the United States will also repudiate the secret of its power and prosperity by allowing a spiritual harlot spoken of in Revelation chapter 17 the apostate papal Church to entice the nation into an illicit love affair between church and state the result will be that the relentless harlot Church will lead the nation to repudiate the secret of its power and prosperity and as a result we will have national apostasy that will lead to national ruin Ellen White explained this in review and Herald June 15 18 97 this is how it reads Roman Catholic principles will be taken under the care and protection of the state this national apostasy will speedily be followed by national ruin sad the same thing that happened to him Sampson personally will happen to the greatest nation that has ever risen on earth but prophecy tells us that Protestant churches will not merely entice the government to enforce legitimate civil laws but they will influence the state also to enforce religious laws that violate the conscience in a time of great national crisis and we'll talk more about this in the panel this afternoon the churches of the land will entice the civil power to enforce the observance of Sunday as the national day of rest and whoever does not comply will suffer persecution the United States is unlike any other nation on earth exceptionalism is the term that describes the difference between this country and other countries what makes the United States exceptional different than other countries I read now a statement by Ian Tourette Tyrrell where he explains what American exceptionalism means I quote exceptionalism is a belief that the u.s. follows a path of history different from the laws or norms that govern other countries that is the essence of American exceptionalism the os is not just a bigger and more powerful country but an exception it is the bearer of freedom and liberty and morally superior to something called Europe now I won't get into that but Europe has many countries that have an alliance between church and state where a church is favored over other churches now on June 10 1797 this is one year before the papacy received its deadly wound president John Adams signed into law what is called the Treaty of Tripoli and in this Treaty of Tripoli there was a certain section that said the following the government of the United States is not in any sense founded upon the Christian religion did this law rattle Protestants of that day the answer is no in May of 1797 President Adams had sent a copy of this treaty to the Senate where it was read aloud a printed copy was also given to each of the senators the Senate vote ratified this law unanimously without a dissenting vote the treaty was published in the great newspapers of Philadelphia in New York and there was not a whimper of protest from the public none of the sent senators paid a heavy price for stating that the government of the United States is not in any sense founded upon the Christian religion Christian's of the religious right cringe when religious libertarians mentioned the Treaty of Tripoli because they believed that the United States was founded upon the judeo-christian religion however the founders knew that this would be a violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution because it would establish one religion above others America is not a Christian nation but rather a nation composed of Christians alexis de tocqueville french political thinker and historian toured the United States from 1831 to 1836 tates he wrote a famous two volume set titled democracy in America when he interviewed American political thinkers as to why there was so much peace and prosperity in the United States they told him that it was mainly because of the separation of church and state in his own words we find the following explanation this is democracy in America vol 1 page 308 he stated all the political thinkers that he consulted attributed the peaceful domain yin of religion in their country mainly to the separation of church and state I do not hesitate he writes to confirm that they're in my stay in America I did not meet a single individual of the clergy or the laity who was not of the same opinion clearly this historian and political thinker knew what the secret of the power and prosperity of the United States was as well as the political thinkers in the United States of that day the founding fathers of the United States live during the period of the French French Revolution at the conclusion of which the papacy received its deadly wound the memory of the sordid history of the 1260 years of oppression by the papacy was fresh in their minds and they knew the evils of the apostate harlot Church using the civil powers of Europe to lead the governments to enforce not only civil law but to enforce religious law against those who dissented from the power of the church therefore the founding fathers decided that in this NASA nation church and state would function separately on August 14 1802 mas Jefferson wrote a letter to Jeremiah Moore who was a Baptist minister and evangelist and in this letter Thomas Jefferson wrote about the dangers of the clergy getting involved in the political process and I read now a portion of his letter Jefferson wrote the clergy by getting themselves established by law and engrafted into the Machine of government have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man did you catch that once again the clergy by getting themselves established by law and engrafted into the machine of government have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man in a letter to Horatio G Stafford who was an American lawyer an elder of the Presbyterian Church a letter dated March 14 1814 Thomas Jefferson warned about the nefarious results of the clergy uniting with the civil power I read a portion of what he wrote in every country and in every age the priest has been hostile to Liberty he is always an alliance with the despot abetting his abuses in return for protection of his own what a tremendous statement James Madison agreed in a letter to Alexander von Humboldt who was a Prussian geographer naturalist and Explorer a letter written dissent six 18 13 we find Madison writing thus these words history I believe furnishes no example of a priest ridden people maintaining a free civil government the founding fathers got it because they were living at the end of the period of papal oppression they were living at the end of the colonial period where they're in the colonial period also religious matters were legislated by civil law they knew what they were talking about but in 200 plus years political thinkers have forgotten history Ellen White who was born only 29 years after the papacy received its deadly wound remarked about the thinking of the founding fathers this is what she says about the founding fathers great controversy 442 the founders of the nation wisely sought to guard against the employment of secular power on the part of the church with its inevitable result in tolerance and persecution so notice what she's saying that when the church used as a secular power the result is inevitable the result is intolerance and persecution she also warned in great controversy 297 that the union between church and state should not even be the slightest there should be no union between church and state at all this is her quotation the union of churches with the church with the state be the degree never so slight while it may appear to bring the world nearer to the church does in reality but bring the church nearer to the world revelation 13 verses 1 through 8 describes the sordid history of Europe during the period of papal dominance after describing the that this time when the Saints of the Most High were persecuted when the Beast spoke blasphemy against the most high trampled upon the sanctuary service etc in verses 9 and 10 we find that this system received a deadly wound the papacy received a deadly wound however revelation 13 verse 3 tells us that the deadly wound is going to be healed the question is what will heal the wound that was given to the papacy the answer is that a second beast representing the United States will make an image of the first beast and do the bidding of the first beast thus forsaking the secret of its power and prosperity you know as you examined Revelation 13 11 to 18 where you find it a description of this second beast that makes an image of the first beast the first piece represents the papacy that had Dominion for 1260 years and did all these things against the church by using the state to accomplish its agenda the second beast the land beast has two horns like a lamb republicanism and Protestantism but the Bible tells us that it will end up speaking like a dragon it will make an image of the first beast now everything that this second beast does it does to please the first beast I want you to notice the list we don't have time to read all the verses but we are told in Revelation 13 11 to 18 you can read the verses that this land beast will exercise all the authority of the first beast in other words it's not going to have its own Authority it will act by the authority of the first beast we find also it says in those verses that it will force the whole world to worship the first beast everything that this second beast does it says is done in the presence of the first beast what does in the presence mean more modern versions tell us that it means behalf of the first beast that's the NIV the contemporary English version translate it worked for the first beast and the lexicons that is the dictionaries tell us that this second beast will act at the commissioning of the first beast we are told that this second beast will make an image of the first beast it will make an image to the first beast which means that it will make an image in honor of the first beast and it will enforce the mark of the first beast somehow I think that this second beast doesn't have its own personality everything that it does it will do to help the first beast recover its power in other words the deadly wound is going to be healed by the country whose founding principles were the secret of its power and its prosperity the Bible tells us what happens when religion and politics come together let me give you several biblical examples you remember the days of Elijah Jezebel manipulated a hab the King into persecuting God's people once again Jezebel influencing the King to implement the religion of bail led to the persecution of God's people a harlot influencing the King led to persecution we have the story that we find in Daniel 6 you know the advisors of King Darius they hated Daniel because he kept God's law because it was righteous man you can read it there in Daniel chapter 6 and so they advised the king they said to the king you know you need to proclaim this religious law that forbids the free exercise of making a request of a man or a God for 30 days and the king is deceived he says oh I think this is a great idea so the King gives a decree which is a religious decree because what it's doing it's forbidding prayer and you know what the result is the result is that because of these admirers advisers influencing the King to implement religious legislation the result is that Daniel ended up in the Lions Den and only the deliverance of God could save Daniel from certain deaths and then we have the story of Daniel 3 by advice from the Chaldeans with which were the religious advisors Nebuchadnezzar raises up an image like the one you saw in Daniel 2 only it was totally of gold and now he implements religious legislation everyone has to worship this image on pain of death once again the religious advisors advising the political ruler to implement religious legislation as a result the three young men were thrown into a fiery furnace they were persecuted and the only way that they could escape was by the deliverance of Jesus Christ himself who came into the furnace we have the story in the days of Esther Haman comes to the king says there's this people they're dangerous they have different laws they don't obey the laws of the kingdom of course you know they they you know Mordecai did not render homage to Haman that would have been contrary to God's law and so now Haman influences the king to give a law that would restrict the religious liberty of the Jews that they be killed after a certain period of time only the deliverance of God delivered Israel from certain destruction we have the story of John the Baptist you know this is a very interesting story because you have a mother and you have her daughter and you have a king similar to revelation 17 you have the mother of harlots she has daughters and they influence the King and John the Baptist of course is a symbol of the last day Elijah and so you know the mother wants the death of John the Baptist but she can't you know she can't be successful in killing John the Baptist and so she tells her daughter hey you know what you really need to do is ask for the head of John the Baptist and so the daughter an image of her mother says you know give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter and as a result John the Baptist was decapitated once again a harlot acting through her daughter to influence the king to kill God's servant the same happened with the condemnation of Christ you know after Jesus resurrected Lazarus John chapter 11 tells us that the multitudes were following Jesus the churches were getting empty this is similar to what's going to happen at the loud cry and so now you know the religious leaders are angry and they call us and he drew meeting they say you know we need to we need to kill this man to save the nation from destruction and so they lay plans to kill Christ because they said you know if we don't if we let him as he is everybody's gonna believe in him and the Romans are going to take away our nation they thought about killing Jesus they would save their nation from the Romans but by killing Jesus they caused what they wish to prevent because in the year 70 because they did not know the hour of the visitation the Romans came and took away their nation are you following me how did the Jews accomplish the death of Christ this is very interesting the Sanhedrin condemned Jesus to death but they could not execute the death penalty so now they go to Pontius Pilate and they say to Pilate you know we have a law and bijli our law he ought to die and Pilate says that's your law not mine see Pilate had it clearer than they did and so eventually you know the end of the story the apostate Jewish Church by using the political power of Pilate who was trying to save his political position led to the death of Jesus Christ we also know the story of John Huss see the history shows us this you have the story of John Huss you know he was taken he was given safe-conduct to Constance in southern Germany and when he arrived he was put in prison several months in prison then he had a religious trial and the Cathedral there in Constance I've been there and the religious trial found him to be a heretic so now they said we're gonna deliver him to the civil power to be exterminated and they had to use the political power assigment to burn us at the stake even though the emperor had given him safe conduct once again the church using the power of the state to persecute those who are not in harmony with what the church desires this is exactly what happened during the 1260 years and by the way it also happened during the colonial period of the history of the United States you know people were forced to go to church on Sunday no one who was not a member of the established Church of the colonies could occupy a political office people tithe to the civil power and the Civil Power Plate paid the clergy in colonial America the founding fathers knew this and so the founding father said in this new nation that were establishing during the constitutional period it is not going to be so this is going to be an exceptional nation different than any nation that ever has arisen now let's get back to Donald Trump Donald Trump was elected by a vast evangelical majority over 80% of evangelicals voted for Donald Trump as you know he promised that he was going to get rid of the Johnson amendment amendment the 1954 law that forbids nonprofit organizations from supporting political candidates and political parties he has not been able to do that yet but he did sign an executive order kind of telling the IRS don't prosecute those nonprofit organizations who are supporting political parties see he can't get rid of the Johnson amendment by executive order because it's law and a president cannot change the law by executive order and then you have the movie of the capital of Israel to Jerusalem the u.s. embassy embassy to Jerusalem you say well what's significant about that you know that is actually a reflection of evangelical eschatology you see if evangelicals believe that the center of the final conflict is going to be Israel and so they undoubtedly pressured the president into moving the United States Embassy to Jerusalem because they believe in their eschatology in their belief of endtime events that that's where events are going to transpire you know it's no secret that the president has evangelical advisors that are able to have direct access to him one of them is paula white you might be aware that recently Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing the White House faith and opportunity initiative and basically the idea is to form a stronger relationship between the church and the state let me read you what paula white one of the advisors of President Trump evangelical advisors she's she's a megachurch pastor as programming on television she she wrote this about this particular executive order this order is a historic action strengthening the relationship between faith and government in the United States and the product will be countless transformed lives since when has a union of church and state transformed lives countless lives at that it's an illusion it's a mirage it doesn't happen people are not changed by legislation but by the Holy Spirit transforming the human heart I want to read a statement from Ellen White which she wrote July 4 1899 the data is significant July 4 which is a CAD memory that they in which the Declaration of Independence was signed notice what she had to say about the United States the blessings that has received and what its destiny is going to be the greatest and most favored nation upon the earth is the United States a gracious Providence has shielded this country and poured upon her the choicest of heavens blessings here the persecuted and oppressed have found refuge here the Christian faith in its purity has been taught this people have been recipients of great light and unrivaled mercies but these gifts have been repaid by ingratitude and forgiveness of God a forgetfulness of God would you agree with that sadly she continues the infinite one keeps a reckoning with the nation's and their guilt is proportioned to the light rejected a fearful record and she's speaking here about slavery of the at the time a fearful record now stands in the register of heaven against our land but the crime which shall fill up a measure of her iniquity is that of making void the law of God primarily through Sunday legislation so do we have a message folks for the political rulers of the United States we do the seventh-day Adventist Church publishes a magazine called Liberty that magazine goes to all of the thought leaders the political thought leaders the lawyers in all of the higher-ups of government it's a publication that helps them see the issues that are taking place in the world today and in the United States and the dangers represented by represented by uniting a church and state we need to support Liberty magazine it's a great publication you know some of the Artic for laypeople are not that easy to understand but they remember they're written for scholars they're in for individuals who are thinkers individuals who are lawyers in in doctors and professionals so basically we have a tremendous message to share with the political leaders of the world you know it's no coincidence that in Revelation chapter 10 after the great disappointment it says you must prophesy again and it doesn't say the same way to whom as revelation 14 revelation 14 says to every nation kindred tongue and people but Revelation chapter 10 verse 11 adds a group it says you need to proclaim this message again to the kings that is to the political rulers of the world let me just end by mentioning this what we are talking about here is not a personal reflection on Donald Trump I mean some people despise Donald Trump other people love him and think that he can do no wrong I'll tell you where my burden is my burden is that I would like to see Donald Trump saved in the kingdom because that's what we should desire as church members we should not get involved in the political system you say well Donald Trump is beyond hope you know he's an egomaniac some people have said well what does egomaniac means is he stuck on himself others say he's a megalomaniac which means that you know he has a greatness complex yeah maybe so but you know does God want to see Donald Trump saved in the kingdom does God want Donald Trump to make the right decisions yes he does who's gonna tell him the seventh-day Adventist Church needs to tell him we need to speak up concerning the secret of the power and prosperity of the United States and if you think that Donald Trump is beyond hope just think of Nebuchadnezzar nebuchadnezzar was a despot he was an egomaniac he was a megalomaniac some people say that he was beyond hope but Daniel wanted him saved and Daniel worked with Nebuchadnezzar all the way through you know in Daniel chapter 2 he used his influence with the king Daniel chapter 3 God was working with Nebuchadnezzar finally Nebuchadnezzar after Daniel chapter 4 after God made him a vegetarian for seven years and you know it was valuable because it cleared up his thinking processes you know after all of that you know happened Nebuchadnezzar was a changed man and I believe that we're going to see him in the kingdom the individual that people thought was beyond hope notice how Nebuchadnezzar looked upon his experience after his insanity for seven years Daniel chapter four and verse 37 now I this is the same Nebuchadnezzar by the way who said is this not great Babylon then I have built with my power and for my greatness the greatness of my kingdom same Nebuchadnezzar now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the king of heaven all of whose works are truth and his ways justice and those who walk in Pride he is able to put down won't that be something to meet Nebuchadnezzar in heaven you know no one is beyond hope you think for example Saul of Tarsus he's a pretty mean guy you know he persecuted Christians not only leading them to prisons in Israel but also killing some of them according to the Apostle Paul and yet you know Stephen saw hope even for Stephen and I believe that that encounter in heaven between Saul of Tarsus and Stephen is going to be something special because Stephen never knew that Saul of Tarsus was converted and he became the great evangelist of the Gentiles he died seen Saul of Tarsus encouraging the people to throw the stones now you can imagine what its gonna be like when when Saul is coming from one direction Stephen is coming from the other direction and you know Stephen looks he's rubs his eyes it can't be Saul Saul of Tarsus you were saved Saul of Tarsus oh yes Thank You Stephen for that wonderful sermon that you preached that's what he's gonna say because that all-white tells us that that Saul of Tarsus knew that Stephen was right in his sermon that's why he kicked against the pricks and he went to persecute the church but Jesus said no way you're mine and the Saul of Tarsus became the great Apostle Paul if there was hope for Saul of Tarsus if there was hope for King Nebuchadnezzar there is hope for anyone that's why the Apostle Paul said that we should pray for our political leaders we should be exemplary citizens of the legitimate laws of the nation we should be exemplary in every way and we should use our influence to try and teach the political leaders the importance of abiding by the principles upon which this nation was founded the principles that are the secret of the power and prosperity of the United States of America so let's not keep silent let's cry it out from the rooftops let them know the dangers ahead and I believe that many of those in government will see the light and they will be among that great multitude that will say be saved in Christ's Kingdom I pray that that will be our own personal experience you you
