Hey what's going on guys my name is KarQ and welcome to the 2019/2020 Doomfist tips remake! Today's guest is none other
than ChipSa. Hi my name's ChipSa and I'm a Doomfist player. I'm a full time streamer and I'm gonna teach you guys how to play Doomfist. We'll start off with a general basic tip - the Doomfist ability cycle/playstyle. Okay the most important tip in my opinion for Doomfist is to make sure that you always
have at least one ability to escape at all times.
So I'd say the standard Doomfist ability cycle is to use your SEISMIC SLAM into UPPERCUT then ROCKET PUNCH to escape. 2 to get in and 1 to get out.
Or engage with the ROCKET PUNCH and then UPPERCUT and SLAM to escape. 1 to get in and 2 to get out. If you have your ULT then you could use all 3 and escape with your ULT instead, or wait long enough to get your cooldowns back and repeat one of those combos above. It's mind-boggling how much Doomfist
players actually feed in lower ranks, because they dump all their cooldowns
with no escape. So remember this general tip and let's move on to the hero
matchups. If you see D.Va use her bomb, cast your ult before it explodes and follow her. Drop on top of her as soon as it explodes before her re-mech. Using your ultimate to both survive the explosion AND confirm a kill is always worth it and extremely valuable. So if Orisa has FORTIFIED there's nothing you can really do against her so
something I like doing is playing behind your own shield, charging your ROCKET PUNCH and forcing her to use FORTIFY, which she'll often do because she's scared and then after you can engage with all your abilities and do damage her. Additionally when you use your ULT and can't find a decent target, dropping on Orisa Supercharger will always be valuable. Against Rein you have to be
careful of his counter-charge if you want to engage with Punch. However there
are cases where you want to intentionally counter-charge him, such as saving a
pinned teammate. You have to hit them on the side however, because if you collide head-on, the game will think your teammate is being squished between you. Sometimes you can bait the Rein charge since he's looking to counter your Punch. But if he starts way too early you can just cancel your punch and watch him
feed into your entire team. Roadhog in general is a counter to you so you want to avoid him as much as you can. But if you are going to engage on him, you want to save ROCKET PUNCH to cancel his heal to minimize its value. If you know you're going to be hooked, try to Uppercut just before it happens so that heโs flying away and the distance it creates lowers the damage from his shotgun. Doomfist against Sigma is a very good matchup for you and is one of the reasons why he came back into the meta. With his ROCKET PUNCH you can cancel his ACCRETION if youโre quick, his FLUX if you catch him at the same height, but most importantly, his KINETIC GRASP. Even if your team unloads 1000 damage into it, thereโs that window of time where he wonโt get the bonus shield until the ability is completely over so really keep your eye out to stun him out of it. Winston is generally an easy matchup because your passive shields will be
able to mitigate most of his damage as long as you use your abilities. Focus on getting him out of his bubble specifically your Uppercut then most of your damage you deal is generally from your primary fire since he has such a big hitbox. The best tip I have into Hammond is if you time your Punch at the
correct moment, you can actually cancel his Slam and it won't do any of the damage or the knockback or anything like that, but it is quite precise so it
takes a lot of time and to get used to. Often Hammond will be spinning around on point trying to stall it. If you use any of your abilities on him it will cancel
the momentum that he has allowing your team to capitalize on him and kill him. The Zarya matchup is quite strange because she doesn't really do anything
to you but you can't really do much to her unless she uses her bubble. So the way I would engage Zarya is try to bait her bubble with your Rocket Punch and then wait and then re-engage with your Seismic Slam into Uppercut and during this time your Rocket Punch will be off cooldown since it's a shorter cooler than her bubble and it allows for an easy kill. My best tip against Ashe is to engage with your Punch and Uppercut her at the
end of your Punch and then often will use her coach gun to escape from you and then you can follow that with the Seismic Slam. Engaging with Seismic Slam is very inconsistent because she can Coach Gun you away... so, you use the
Rocket Punch + Uppercut to force her Coach Gun and then chase with the
Seismic Slam. Bastion is a team effort since you can't
move them with your abilities when he's deployed. Ignore him unless your team is
fully engaging or until you have ULT and then use everything. Against Doom you
have two options with counter punching 1) When the enemy Doom punches you want to counter punch with the collision ONLY if you're closer to YOUR team because you want your team to be the first to follow up. The second option is allow him to punch
into your team and then counter-punch punch him against the wall to kill him. If the Doomfist ULTS, if you ULT after him you'll be able to follow him
around using sound cues and then land exactly where he lands with his ULT, and
you'll get a guaranteed kill. Genji can't really Deflect against any of your
abilities so when he has his deflect up you want to be using all of your
abilities and when his Deflect is down, you want to be using your primary
fire. Another tip against Genji is when he's wall climbing, you want to hold
your Punch and as he comes down you want to then punch him into the wall. Against Hanzo a general approach would be to engage with Punch + Uppercut and
follow his leap escape with your Slam, similar to how you deal with Ashe. Against Junkrat, try to catch him on the flank because if he sees you he can reactively
create space between you with his Mine. You always want to be wary of his Trap
since you can't Punch or Slam through it. Engage on McCree fast and make sure to
Uppercut as he stuns you so it's harder for him to kill you or you just ignore him,
kind of similar to the Roadhog matchup. Against Mei, force out her Ice Block with
punch and then wait it out and Uppercut immediately and follow with primary
fires for an easy kill. An additional mind game you can play on Mei is when she Ice Blocks, you can turn around and pretend you're going for another target and then she'll often be baited to come out of her Ice Block and you can easily
just turn around and kill her. The best way to deal with Pharah is to put yourself on high ground and then use an aerial Rocket Punch to get in range and then
Uppercut + primary fires in order to secure the kill Another tip you can do
on certain maps is to ULT on top of buildings to get high ground and then
use the exact same combo as before to try and kill her. Reaper beats you in a 1v1 with his high close-range damage and lifesteal. So you should either catch
him on a flank or just avoid him. Another tip against Reaper is you
can use your Rocket Punch to bait out his Wraith form. Soldier is a very easy
matchup. Best way to deal with Soldier is to just engage on and with your Slam, and then use your primary fire + Uppercut combo to get an easy kill. Sombra is a very difficult
matchup for Doomfist as the hack will basically disable you completely. So the best way to do is either to avoid her or to force her Translocator with your punch. Symmetra is another easy matchup. Same as Soldier, you just want to engage with your Slam + Uppercut + primary fire The only thing you got to be careful of is if
she has a bunch of turrets you want to make sure you don't fight her in her turrets. Against Torbjorn, I want to be a bit careful
engaging him when he has his Overload. And if he doesn't, it's a very easy kill
since he has such a big hitbox and it's easy to combo with your Seismic Slam + Uppercut. It is not really your job to deal with his turret so I wouldn't really waste any of your abilities on it. I'm HELPING At this point of the video I know Iโve said โavoid some matchupsโ a few times and honestly this is a tip in
itself because you lose a lot of the DPS and value that Doomfist has by wasting your time
against targets who somewhat counter you. So the only real way to kill Tracer is
to predict hit Blinks or to track her Recall. Force it, and then punch her
exactly where her Recall goes but mostly I would just avoid. Against Widow, you
want to flank as much as possible and try and engage with Punch + Uppercut, the same way you would against Ashe and Hanzo, and then chase them down with your
Slam. If you're going all-in against heroes like these it's really important you
have an ability to follow these heroes so they can't just escape from you and
kite you and kill you. The best way to deal with Ana generally
is to flank her so she doesn't have time to react with her sleep, since that's the
only real counter-play she has. However if she doesn't have her Sleep Dart, it's pretty much always in your favor since her Nade doesn't really do anything to
stop you. Baptiste is quite an easy matchup for you as long as you can knock him out of his Immortality Field it should be an easy kill. The best way to
do this generally is to use your Uppercut, but sometimes you can do it with
your Rocket punch as well. The best way to play against Brig is to play around mid distance and do a fully-charged Punch to try and bait the Shield Bash from Brig, and then she'll commit and then she's an easy kill for your team. Lucio is a very difficult target to kill
so you want to avoid him and prioritize a different target unless he doesn't
know how to walk climb. If he has Beat, try to catch him with an Uppercut at
the start of the animation to stall him in the air, and then immediately punch to
cancel it. Mercy is another very difficult hero to
kill because of her vertical mobility so mostly you just want to ignore her and
the only time you should really do anything is when you're trying to camp bodies to
stop her Res. The way you play against Moira is to catch it unawares or play slow and wait for her to use her Fade. Charge your Rocket Punch, bait out the
Fade and follow along if she didn't go too far. Don't forget you can cancel
Coalescence with Rocket Punch but it's quite a lot harder since she has a lot
more movement speed in Coalescence. Zen is a very very easy kill, pretty much all of your cooldown rotations will completely destroy him. When Zen uses Trance, you can still one-shot 200hp targets in the Trance if you
use a fully charged Rocket Punch and the target is very close to the wall. Very rarely, you can burst the 200hp target with a Seismic Slam over [80], followed
with a Primary fire + Uppercut but you need that primary fire to be
super juicy and it's honestly not worth it. I've only done it like 2 or 3
times in my thousands of hours of Doom. And that's the tips for all the heroes!
Thank you so much ChipSa for joining me on this remake series. Let me know who I should redo next and I'll see you guys next time. Thanks for having me KarQ it's been a pleasure being here. It's been a while since I saw one of this ^_^ This time it's from the unlucky man himself
Honestly I was expecting the Widow tip to just be "Widow is just so fokin broken there's literally nothing you can do in this matchup because she just clicks on you and you die"
Haven't watched yet, but I'm keen to get up to the widow bit HAHAH
Edit: wow, no memes. but of a missed opportunity there.. unlucky :(
Donโt make them any better plez
40% just annihilate them with your cooldowns, 40% just avoid them, and 20% useful tips.
Not bashing the video, Iโm saying that clearly this character is busted from a game design perspective when he completely shits on half the roster but canโt do much of anything against the rest.
You know the hero's busted if all the tips are like "Doomfist against Sigma is a very good matchup for you and one of the reasons why he came back into the meta", "Winston is generally an easy matchup." "Genji can't really do anything against your abilities", "Symmetra is another easy matchup, same as Soldier", "Baptiste is an easy kill, just knock him out of his immortality field", "Zen is a very very easy kill, pretty much all of your cooldown rotations will completely destroy him", ...
so onloki
