run the tape up because of time but there are three features specifically that i'm going to talk about this morning that save lives on the car industry and you say what does that have to do with spiritual warfare and what does that have to mean about overcoming i'm here to tell you that protection is important that we are protected before that we travel so you can get an automobile now and in recent years automakers have made significant progress in developing active safety systems that migrate and even prevent collisions they also rolled out several new driver assistant features how many like that papa frank do you hear me driver assistance and there's three things that i want to bring out today the first thing is what is called the aeb which is the automatic emergency braking it said like an attendant co-pilot aeb watches for potential collisions with vehicles ahead and provides a warning if you get too close if you don't respond the system automatically applies the brakes to avoid a review reduce the severity of an impact that's on the newer automobiles because some of you amen and i include myself some of you folks some of you y'all stop patting on your wife or you some of you don't pay attention and i thank god for protection don't you that the hand of god has watched over me brother tommy so many times i could have been in so many accidents and i could be in a grave right now but because before aeb was ever established there was hg or the spirit of the holy ghost or the spirit of god that has protected you can i get a witness in this house this morning so the second thing is and oh my goodness it scares the life out of me when i didn't have one of these cause i don't have one on my car but my wife does it's called blind spot warning anybody got a blind spot warning i mean there is nothing worse sister angela that you're driving along and you're looking in your rearview mirror and you see no car and you go to pull out and there's this hunk this loud horn and it scares you to death and you jerk the car back but yet nowadays they got a situation where and and and it's it's really i don't really like it at times because when that happens sometimes if i don't put my blinker on of course when i put my blinker on it it it starts blinking it lets me know but yet if i don't put my blinker on brother ernie what happens is is it the the wheel goes short shaking like this i'm thinking that just bothers me and that's the way we feel sometimes when god tries to correct us and protect us we get upset about it oh hallelujah to god but it says the bsw system watches for car in agenda lanes and alerts you in their presence usually with a warning light on a side mirror most systems also have an audible alert if you signal the turn or lane change while your blind spot is occupied everybody say protection if i say safety are you thankful for god's protection i'm going to say this over and over again to some of you until every one of you is convinced that we need the protection of god but you know what on the other hand before i go to this third one do you know i think in most cases brother evans that you can cut these things off you you can you can you can flip the switch and that's why i'm troubled by some people that when they come to the house of god or they're looking online and they say well this is not really interesting they can flip the switch when god gets to convict in them and god gets to dealing with them they will flip the switch and cut it off oh god let me hear that alarm in the spirit when i do not realize that somebody's coming up on my blind side and i can't see them oh lord have mercy i've got we ought to just clap our hands and thank the lord i know this is not an evangelistic service but i do feel the spirit of the living god today now this is important the third thing that i wanted to bring to you and then we'll go on into the part of the lesson is the pedestrian detection it said some aeb systems can detect but with tests pedestrians and cyclists and activate the brakes as necessary to reduce the risk of injury pedestrian deaths have been on the rise making this an increasional increasingly vital feature let me get some water here my goodness some reason i got caught in mouth this morning so that you've got somebody that all of a sudden the kid is playing ball with somebody in the yard and person kicks it and that ball goes out into the road and you're driving along the road and all of a sudden this little child just runs out into the road and most of the time again sometimes we got things on our mind don't we can we be honest today not really paying attention everybody say protection so that that car if you look at it there it has sensors all around it y'all see that it has sensors on it and what it does it goes before you and detects anything and that car if you're not paying attention it detects or picks a motion and it will automatically break for you did y'all know that anybody got a car like that well okay i'm i'm i'm teaching y'all something this morning i hope so what that do will cut that car will break and it will also possibly even save a life and so it is that when we talk about and then i'll go back now to teaching this this part about that the battle i want to talk about now the battle is real can y'all say that with me the battle is real how many know that that's the truth okay and i thought again when i told you and i told you that i would share with you different things that the lord just kind of let me know that i'm getting and i'm going in the right direction does anybody know what song was playing just before we started service tonight i mean this morning excuse me our next level class i'll get it right in a minute charity gale the victory is the lord's everybody say the victory is the lord's and she said the bat the battle is not yours the victory is the lord he is our shield and he is our sword he is if i say protector he's our protector and also he gives us the sword in our hand so you may have never commanded an army or faced off against another person in hand-to-hand comeback but if you're a disciple of jesus christ then you have more in common with general eisenhower than you may realize for example you know what it's like to be a part of a war an expansive conflict in which the stakes are incredibly high and you know what it's like to face an enemy who's well trained everybody say well trained well-equipped and battle-hardened one that will fight savagely at every turn and every to destroy to you how many knows that the enemy wants to destroy you there's a scripture there he wants to do what three things that the enemy wants to do he wants to everybody say steal very good class participation so we are having a little participation this morning so he his his main goal is to steal kill and destroy he wants to destroy you if you don't know it and i'm not trying to heap up fear and put fear in your life because that's what i am going to counter attack again and again in these series and that's what i have to counter attack every day because the enemy doesn't want me up here teaching you instructing you equipping you he wants you to be weak he wants you to be anemic he wants you to just just think that there's nothing to it that you can just go in life and be unscathed nothing will ever happen to you but i can tell you you are going to be in a battle whether you want to or not you can succumb but can and we do and i do understand i do understand just like in war there are mias there are people missing in actions where are they at where are they at they're missing in action and also that people and i'm talking about in a spiritual sense there are poas or p.o.w excuse me i'm sorry brother you might come up here and help me attention p.o.w prisoners of war what do you mean prisoners of war well when they went into the enemy's camp and any time that whatever a lot of times they would catch them as prisoners but i'm here to tell you in the spiritual sense there are people that are walking around they're not behind bars they don't have any visible guards around them but they are prisoners of war because the enemy has overcome them and has taken them captive and lead them around and telling them what to do how many wants to live a life like that if i say nobody nobody but i want to be free i want to have my liberty but if i'm going to have that what am i going to have to do i am going to have to fight i am going to have to be engaged in the battle i'm talking about of course about the spiritual battle as we face as christians according to god's word the spiritual battle is currently raging on two different fronts and we're going to talk about that just a minute when i say the word raging i'm talking about raging when we see things that are going on in our world today that it is just i'm i'm thinking why what why where is the church at why are we allowing these things that they're just singly running over us and they're tearing down our our boundaries and their and papa frank and they're tearing down those things that we've set in place that is a god a fearing country that that seem like all the boundaries are being torn down and the enemy's just marching in he's marching into our our school system he's marching into our government he's marching into our home and nobody's firing a shot because they don't realize that the battle has come to your house it's come to your life and we must have what everybody say protection and the holy ghost is protection and god give us a spirit of discernment that's what we've got to have so the first front is in is cosmic and scaled it is the battle between good and evil and when i said that a while ago sister charisse is that the strange thing i bet that scripture has always bothered me to the fact that we are going at a particular day and it's here we're going to call good evil and we're going to call evil everybody say it do you know that we're there today how many knows that that's battles that we've lost but we realize that the church cannot be idled the church cannot be and i'm going to go right now to a passage of scripture and that's found in ephesians chapter 6 and verses 12 and 13. and it says everybody read this with me would you can we have class participation for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness where in high places so if you look at if you'll back up just a little bit back up on that next verse so all of these things that we see are not really in the sense visible in the sense that we see them working so much as far as blatantly working but yet at the same time that when we rethink that we say now wait a minute they are did y'all notice that word principalities against powers against rulers of the darkness this world and against what can you say that again spiritual witness wickedness do you know that you cannot see a spirit but spirit are has become brazen and they manifest themselves but people that are carnal don't even recognize it and that's the danger of it it's like what they talked about one time though some people they're on the fence they don't want to be committed it's like one guy said man i'm tired there was the there was the confederates and there was the federals and they was just tired of it all this guy said man i'm just i'm tired of this i'm gonna go over and see really who really will help me the most so he put on some federal pants and a confederate coat and he and he got shot at from both sides people you can't stay neutral but you have to you have to make up your mind get ahead not here you have to make up your mind that i am going to serve the lord and that's what happened with joshua the people got wishy-washy and he he just gathered everybody said he said i don't know what you're gonna do i'm i'm just tired of all this this uh insensitive uh in this in this uncommitment i'm just tired of it but he made this statement he said i don't know what you're going to do but me and my household me and my house so are going to serve the lord we're going to make that commitment and i have got children that we've tried to raise in the ammunition of the lord but here's what i want to talk to this class that i'm teaching today and teaching online is is that we wrestle not it is not where that we can see these people visible and we can fist fight with them and we can we can throw them a punch papa and we can we can swing at them and we can knock them out and ko them it's not like that it's those things that we cannot see that's why it's so important when we talk about spiritual warfare we talk about that we must put apply the spiritual armor of god because it is not only a protection but it's also a defense for us because the word of god everybody say the word of god is quick it's powerful than any two-edged sword it will take out anything that you need but you gotta learn how to use it can i get an amen now when we look at this passage of scripture and we see that the second front is more personal it is the battle between right and wrong in our hearts as individuals it's us it's and again it's i i hear pictures that preachers all the time say it's quiet in here well it needs to be quite sometimes that we can listen and we can comprehend and we can understand between rebellion against god and obedience to his will it's the daily struggle to put to death our sinful nature and embrace the righteousness we which we have received through christ paul described this front and i want you to put up that next scripture if we would it says for though we walk in the flesh what we do not war after the flesh for our weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through god to the pulling down of strongholds aren't we thankful that god gives us the ability to trust in him to believe that when we walk in obedience that the hand of god is going to work for us and when i was reading in second chronicles uh chapter 20 when we know that there was a time to where that the enemy whether you know it or not the enemy is not only satisfied with just having one particular army to defeat you but they'll do everything they can to get as many folks to join their army to be against you and i may shock some of you and i may not shock some of you but do you realize that the enemy can use somebody in your family clear my throat here the enemy can use your best friend when we talk about carnality carnality goes deep sometimes because when you are carnal you have no sense of discernment you have no ability to discern you think i never thought who would ever believe that my friend or my family would do that to me you ever heard anybody say that maybe you said that and you can't believe it i'll tell you why it is because of the carnality of men that gets us in so much trouble well fred it is so important that we keep ourselves that we keep ourselves spotless from this world it is something what the scripture talks about in in the apostle paul's teaching is that we must die daily to this flesh and to this carnality because it is the it is the flesh folks how many remember me telling you it is the flesh there's always until you draw your last breath you're gonna have to deal with the flesh and it is it is into me against god it is it is an enemy against god and that's why it's so important in our minds it's got to be and i know this may be very strong for some of you but you got to say to yourself kill it kill it kill it if you see a a moccasin or a rattlesnake out there brother mike what are you going to look at and say oh that's so beautiful and reached down and pitted on the top of its head you're not going to brother garcia boy you come alive on that one because first thing is you're going to have discernment that that that that particular serpent is not for you but against you and that's what i'm trying to speak to you today is that we've got to recognize our enemy and god got to dealing with me i i don't know 8 30 tonight at night i just said to my wife i'm going for a walk i started walking and i started praying you know that's a good time sometimes to pray is when you're away from everything else of course sometimes i'm i'm a little i'm a little aware i don't want people to call uh 9-1-1 and say there is a crazy man walking down the road talking to himself and he's he's his language is not even i can't even understand what he's saying he's just babbling because sometimes i'm speaking in tongues i'm talking in tongues i'm trying to intercede but god got to dealing with me about sheep and wolf's clothing that people that that a sheep will look like a sheep but it's dressed up or excuse me i may have it wrong why don't we turn it around that it is a sheep or it's not a sheep but it's dressed up like a sheep does that make sense sister sharon i'm struggling with that today yeah wrong clothing thank you this is good class participation you can straighten me out sister cooper i have help today but i got to thinking about that how many people are deceived because it looks like a sheep it may sound like a sheep but it's not it's dressed up it's dressed up and just looks like like the specimen that it is but it can be so deceiving if we're not careful and you can be deceived and not only deceived but destroyed but that's why and god again the lord was just dealing with me and i and i and i am frustrated sometimes i'll let you know i am one of the pastors here and when you talk about pastors you talk about a shepherd and i am so sick and tired of the enemy coming in and stealing some of the sheep that's even in this church and he's he's deceived them he's convinced them that they need to come on to the other side and what they don't realize that they're heading toward death and they're heading toward destruction so as a preacher today as a teacher today i'm instructing you today amen to listen to the voice of somebody that's trying to teach you and instruct you and help you amen now and i talked about second chronicles and i need i'm not getting anywhere this morning harley as far as where i wanted to get but that's okay but in second chronicles as i told you those armies came against the children of god and the king assembled them at the temple and they prayed and they fasted and then there was a man of god there that god gave him a word he spoke to them and said this battle is not yours but it's the lord's some battles amen will have to fight but there are other battles that if we'll let god take care of it we will be an overcomer and victorious and you say man now make no mistake both phases of this battles are real and both affect every single follower of christ whether we realize it or not now the second thing i want to talk to you about is this and i kind of jumped the gun a little bit everybody say this with me the battle is already won turn to your neighbor and tell them that you don't have to look far to see the ravages and destructions this spiritual battle is called just watch the news just listen to your own heart on the cosmic front it is clear that our world is filled with pain both today and throughout history the human race has endured war and terror poverty and prejudice disaster and death the list goes on sometimes we can't help but feel like everything is ripping apart at the seams on the personal front so many people in our culture christians and non-christians alike feel crushed by these things and this is what i want to address i want to address these couple of things right here they feel weighted down by anxiety and i've heard it and i know of some people they have what they call anxiety attacks and where does those anxiety attacks start started anybody know everybody say the mind they start with the mind and all of a sudden there's this thing that just that just consumes them and and they have those two brothers that come along and and i don't like those brothers at all and they're twins anybody know what their twin brothers are that show up and attack your mind one of them's first name is fear and the brother's name is what other brother's name is what worry so fear and worry attack the mind so anxiety the second thing of course is is that's coupled with that fear a weight of anxiety fear and this one is a big one right here everybody say this is a big one loneliness you can be around and i've heard this people can be around a bunch of people family talking and communicating back and forth and they can still tell you i feel lonely and one of the things that the enemy is so good at he likes to isolate people and he likes to make them feel lonely he likes he he wants them to feel like that nobody cares but we need to stand up and we need to rebuke that spirit of loneliness you know many many years ago there was a song that came out by otis reddy sitting on the dock of the bay and said um he moved to san francisco san francisco but the one words in that song it says this brother fred it said this loneliness won't leave me alone and i can tell you you can go from here to san francisco or you can go to cancun you can go wherever but i'm telling you without the spirit of the living god you are going to be lonely but i'm thankful that god can come and visit us and bring and remove that loneliness and push and drive that loneliness out of our life if i say protection god wants to protect you from loneliness he wants to protect you from fear he wants to protect you from worry he wants to protect you in all of these areas but we got to realize one thing and again i am leading up to something we must put on the whole armor of god can i get an amen okay we're on the downside of this lesson we're we're going to wrap it up one of the things i want to insert here that i read that was interesting and we are uh our staff is fixing to get into this is follow to lead the journey of a disciple maker by stan glsen one of the first things in the forward of this book that i believe it was brother stone king that wrote this he said the soul is the seek talk about the soul it says the soul is the seat of the human will intellect and emotions only god himself will be able to rest or register the innumerable lives that have been disciplined because of the disciple who speaks experimentally on the masters of command to go and make disciples of all nations so what he was talking to me or talked to me about or spoke to me about was this was that to be a disciple of jesus christ and i'm also referring back again to a soldier a soldier has to be disciplined and some parents and in some young people at one time of another and it's still going on today that when that child is out of control and they get 17 or 18 the parents would do what they'd send that child amen to the or sign up for the army or the navy do you know why anybody anybody tell me why everybody say discipline they thought we can't do nothing with them so if we'll send them to the armed services they will discipline them and that's why some people though they go awol because they say i don't want nobody to tell me what to do how to do it and when to do it because they thought man if i just go and get the services everything already and all of a sudden at five o'clock in the morning sergeant comes in and said it's time to get up boys and you're thinking i get to sleep till noon at the house you see sometimes people think by escaping one thing they get into something worse and if you learn to discipline yourself in the walk of life it'll be a whole lot easier now we deal with a constant pull of another thing and that and i've already talked about that and that's temptation we are intimately aware of the darkness in our own hearts that's the bad news that we are aware and i and i i for one i'm aware of my shortcomings don't nobody need to tell me but i thank god that god does tell me and my wife helps me as well and i don't you know for most of the time sister cooper you're here and listening but i do try to listen but just sometimes i'm not disciplined enough to follow through until i find out she was right and so it is that when you are when you are guided by the spirit of god can i tell you that man will miss it from time to time but the holy ghost when it tells you something you can take it to the bank in that right sister marie okay it's 10 19 we've got just a few more minutes and but let me show i told you about the bad news i told you about the anxiety and the fear and the temptation everybody say the good news however is incredible the battle has already been won i don't want y'all to leave out here and say i'm never going back to that class again i'm going to go find me another class because all they talked about was the bad things that can happen can i tell you that the battle has already been won that the blood has already been shed that the freedom is ours if we want it hallelujah our enemy was decisively defeated through death in the resurrection of jesus christ colossians 2 14 and 15. it said blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that were against us which was contrary to us and it took it out of the way and did what nailing it to his cross next verse and having spoiled principalities and powers he made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it we serve a triumphal god we serve a victoria and we we say a victorious god and i'm thankful for that as well the universe will be made new and made whole once again we know that as disciples of jesus we will live to see the day everybody say we will live to see the day when darkness will go away and it's in god's word and again i'm wrapping up but it said in revelation 21 1-5 and it said now he said i saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth was passed away and there was no more sea and i john saw the whole city new jerusalem coming down from god out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and i heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of god is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and god himself shall be with them and be their god and god shall do what wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow can y'all read the rest of that with me there'll be no sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain whoa for the former thanks are passed away sister carter we ought to shout on that one and praise god because there will be no pain thank you jesus thank you lord okay i'm teaching the class let me calm down a little bit here and then the last thing again we'll we'll we'll finish up with this we are overcomers okay did i lose y'all okay is it it's got too late that that ought to have been a really good punch line we are overcomers yeah i sure am i need another cup of coffee we we are overcomers if you serve the lord jesus christ that means you are now talked about it here you are a disciple of the one who has overcome the world in john 16 and 33 and that's one of the last verses that we will that we will conclude with it says these things have i spoken to you everybody say spoken boy i like that word right there that in me you might have shout it to me that you might have peace in the world you shall if i say shale have tribulation but be of good cheer i have overcome the world let's stand today are you ready for such a life well join me next week next sunday morning at 9 30 back here in the and we're going to be talking about how that you can be an overcomer for jesus christ and we will focus uh we're going to be talking again in this series this is some of the things we're going to talk about again to give you a little bit of hope we're going to be talking about strength we're going to be talking about truth we're going to be talking about goodness we're going to be talking more about peace and faith and wisdom and victory over temptation and prayer these promises will serve as the foundation for your daily life as an overcomer and i'll ask you the question as we leave out and take a break for just a little bit are you an overcomer i want you to ask yourself lord am i an overcomer do i let things get the best of me i want to be an overcomer in jesus christ god bless you thank you again we're going to break for a little while you can go out to the atrium a little bit stretch around stretch yourself and uh and meet us back here in just a little bit god bless you i was just a shepherd boy hello without a shield without a soul fed up with a giant's boy [Music] but what the philistine couldn't see i had was more than me see on my own i'm weak but my god fights for me testing well i was serving to the king interpreting his crazy dreams i won't worship mortal men so they threw me in the lion's den vicious teeth were all i saw till something came and shut their jaws you couldn't find a scratch on me in fact that night i fell asleep when morning came and shocked them all cause my god fights for me oh yes he does [Music] as i knelt before the christ i poured my oil upon his feet i didn't care who saw me i gave him all i had that day and you should have sent me on my way but instead he lifted up my head cause my god my shield [Music]
