the project sheet because it's very vast and it's a free project sheet that includes multiple pictures cutting dimensions and the supplies for six cards that i'm going to share with you i did one of the circle die ideas in a double card format so that you can see that we are ready let's go ahead and let's get started here we go oh for the love of cameras thank you all for your patience if you were here a few minutes ago and things didn't work out bob the builder to the rescue all right we are set i want to give you a final reminder these are your last few days for celebration it ends on september 30th and that is at 11 59 pm mountain time that's really really important everything in this book is free your choice for every 50 you spent there are two items in here in the hundred dollar category for those of you with a bigger list wish list and then finally don't miss this a fabulous offer to join my stamping team i love hobby and business-minded stampers so you are welcome to join you can find all the information over at lisastampstudio.com and you're going to click on the custom starter kit all right we've got a lot of stamping and die cutting to do tonight so i'm going to ask for your patience because i'm going to be moving a lot of things in and out this evening and i do have the die cutting machine here we are going to be doing that as well all right so the very first thing i'm going to do is i'm going to make the very first card together with you entirely actually several of them but this time i want to teach you how i did the background first because i have a feeling you're going to ask about that so i'm going to recommend that you start with a piece of card stock that is larger than what you're actually going to need to die cut so i'm going to be starting with the pale papaya ink now if your ink pad is really really juicy you're going to see that i had re-inked mine which is why it has some spots on it this does not affect the use of the pad whatsoever so don't let that concern you you're going to want to make sure that it's not too juicy because obviously you're going to have a very heavy background all right so i'm going to come on here and i'm going to take this and i'm going to start here on my paper and i'm going to drag the color you are looking for inconsistencies that's purposeful and again the bigger piece of paper that you have the better because especially for tonight we're going to be using those circle dies and we want to make sure that we've got an area that best appeals to us so you can see i'm going back over some areas over and over again all right i'm going to take this i'm going to set this off to the side and i'm going to grab this image this cloud image comes from a stamp set that's called after the storm i love this set because you've got those sun rays and of course you've got the cloud formations and the words are beautiful this is in the annual catalog but i decided that i wanted to go ahead and i want to use that cloud and i'm going to concentrate probably right here in this area because i thought this is a little bit too large dark and it's a little bit too dark so i'm working here i like to ink this up and then you can either stamp at full strength but in my case i'm going to stamp off i want it a little bit lighter before i put it here i'm looking for a very subtle tone in color and in design okay now i'm going to squeeze in one more because i'm not quite sure where that die cut's going to fall i've got my stampin scrub right off camera and that's how i clean my stamps now i'm going to close this up and i'm going to switch over to mango melody i'm going to go ahead and open that up as well and from that exact same stamp set you're going to see i pulled out these little dash lines and these work as the sun beams so i'm going to ink this up i'm also going to stamp off because i don't want it too dark i'm going to work in the center first now i realize these are very very long but don't worry it's going to make sense in a few minutes and how many you put is really entirely up to you but i think that you get the idea all right so let's go ahead and let's clean that stamp let's close up that ink pad the way things are going around here tonight that's going to be a disaster waiting to happen i then used on a separate piece of white card stock the mountain air stamp set and the one reason i love it is because these pieces are going to layer on top of each other so this fits on top of here and vice versa it's going to make sense in just a few minutes but guess what it's got coordinating dies and we are talking about dice tonight although they are circle you're going to love the fact that these will die cut your images and that's going to be very very important for tonight so let me show you what i did i actually stamped and die cut those beforehand and then what i did is i adhered them here where i was going to want them all right so let's just do it this way i'm going to put the mountains in the back obviously and then the greenery here at the bottom i adhered them to the cardstock okay so just for the sake of the demonstration i'm going to do this very very quickly because obviously we've got five cool things we're going to work through tonight so i'm going to place one of them here and another here and then this is where the circle dies come into play you're going to want to choose circle dies that are in graduated sizes but you don't want them so closely related in sizes that they're going to leave you no margin so what i like to do is i like to start with my largest one and i'm like okay this is about where i want it and i'm going to turn that upside down so that cutting raised edge is down and then i'm going to use my very very favorite dye accessory this is the post-it labeling and cover-up tape now if you've watched my videos before you know that i'm a huge fan of this stuff this is amazing you're going to be able to find this not in my online store because it's not a stampin up product but because i use other things to help aid me with my stamping that stampin up doesn't sell i've linked them for you to make it shopping easing for you you're going to find them on my website under shop craft room favorites so i just dispense some of this determining where i want it and i'm going to tape that circle in place this is going to be really really important as we move ahead the next one is going to go right inside of there i do not fuss with measuring folks because honestly we want it to be fun right and i figure if you got to break out a rule how how much fun could that be so i'm just going to eye this last one and that's going to go inside here and once it looks pretty good we're going to tack this down this tape is going to position it perfectly when you go ahead to place this through your die cutting machine obviously they're going to be two pieces here because there are multiple layers here you are going to have to pass this through your die cutting machine more than once i think i did twice and i'm gonna give you a little tip the first time put it through the right way and then the second time flip it over and die cut it this way even at a slight angle as it goes through works really really well that's going to help compress these dies in a different position now when it's all done let me show you what it looks like it's going to look like this so you've got a bunch of little pieces here all right so let me set these dies off to the side and i will tell you once you disassemble this after it's die cut do not throw away these little pieces of tape go ahead and either keep them on your die cutting machine or of course right here on top of this little thing because you can reuse those multiple times but we are going to need these dies again so i'm just going to kind of disassemble this so that i have those nearby and let's talk about this now these circles and themselves are going to make a really cool card just watch but i took a card base and this is four and a quarter by four and a quarter and i used one of my very favorite embossing folders this is the evergreen forest embossing folder is this not beautiful oh i love the deep impressions and i love the beauty of this embossing folder so all i did was create a little bit of a background here and then i'm going to go ahead and pull out my bone folder and i'm going to go over those nice crisp edges now i just saw one of you comment how do you keep them so clean um this is a special night so i took out a brand new one for you because i know it's going to be difficult to see what i'm doing if they're marred this has absolutely no bearing on whether your project turns out right or wrong so please keep that in mind loved clear cutting plates are very very important so let me show you what we're going to do we're going to lay these pieces out and right now it's going to look like nothing but a mess but the reason we're doing this is we want to get an idea of where the center piece is going to fit and it looks to me like it's going to go smack dab in the middle so i'm going to bring in my silicone craft sheet which is going to protect my work surface from adhesives and i have my stampin seal plus let's go ahead and add that adhesive to the back side make sure i didn't get too excited there and i'm looking here and i'm actually going to adhere this piece straight to the center of the card base okay this next layer i did ahead of time just to save a little bit of time because remember we got five projects we're going to do tonight i used mini dimensionals do you see them they fit perfectly inside this ring and that's really important you want to make sure that these are well balanced now i purposely left one off so i can show you something these have a fantastic shape to them so that you can make sure that that straight edge is going to work to your advantage that nothing is hanging outside here then i'm going to use my take your pick tool you're going to see i'm bracing the paper to pull off those paper backings i could probably get four or five off before i have to empty it and i love that this wrangles those little pieces for me to make it even easier this now is like a puzzle now watch we're going to do our very very best to line this up and then what we're going to do is we're going to tack this down of course we want to leave that little bit of circle margin all the way around now we have one more layer but i want to show you something do you see that oh it's going to get even better we're going to flip this one upside down and this time i switched over to my foam adhesive sheets i like these better than another row of dimensionals because obviously the dimensionals would have to be double stacked to be even higher the foam adhesive sheets or these little strips are even denser than dimensionals i want you to make sure that you lay them down around here but don't pull them because what you don't want is you don't want this circle to become distorted or kind of stretched and that's easy to do when we're putting adhesive on things and you can see that these come in nice long strips so i've got another piece here i'm going to work to kind of fill in this little bit of a gap and i'm going to show you this card now this is the one card that i have two samples for you tonight and i'm just going to close that up and make sure that that's not hanging off i think you get the idea then i'm just going to burnish that to push that paper down this paper backing here is helping to protect this so that i can actually manhandle it without it sticking to my fingers and i'm looking to remove that paper backing there we go and then of course this is that other piece which is smaller and i'm going to remove this as well you know jeffrey have nights where just things don't go the way they're supposed to go this is one of them i think but you know what i'm determined i'm going to win this this one is going to go here again you're looking to mimic the pattern and then i'm going to tack that in place look at this this is called a tunnel card which means the image has a 3d effect and it's really really striking best of all it's super duper easy now if you don't want to go through the fussy of adhering the layers and then getting that 3d effect a great masculine card by the way here's one that's just one layer so it's a piece of white card stock that i stamped the image on and i colored it and i did that exact same tunnel formation so this piece must be flat and then you build up from there and i wish you were here so you could hold it and turn it it is really quite fabulous this comes from a stamp set that i have lots of fun with and if you've hear visiting my channel once before you'll see that i've used it it's come from all of us it's a really really cute image you can do some spot lighting on it if you don't want to color it but i love it for the kids i think it's really fun and it's really really clever so that's two and the first way to use your circles dies is called a tunnel card all right i'm gonna set this off to the side and now i'm moving on to my next card let me just clear away some space here because you can imagine the mess that i've made as we've moved along this time i've got a piece of basic black card stock i've scored it in half already and i have that absolutely stunning designer series paper from peaceful place do you see the foil in here oh gorgeous gorgeous double-sided love that this is generic so that you can use it all year round i'm going to go ahead and add a little bit of adhesive here to the back side and i'm going to give you a little tip i'm going to also recommend that you add a little bit of your adhesive down the center or wherever you're going to make your hole okay so let's go ahead and let's do a little bit here as well because i'm not quite sure where i'm going to end up placing that and i'm going to mimic this here on the card base so there's a little bit of a border all the way around now for this one you can use any size circle die that you choose i'm going to go ahead and i'm going to pull out this one and this is going to get layered anywhere on here that you want the biggest mistake we all make and i do too is we forget to add the designer series paper first before we make the opening that's really important if you're worried about this jiggling go ahead and take that tape and hold that right down in place and you're going to pass that through your die cutting machine that then when you're all finished is going to leave you this now once again i'm going to dismantle this because we are going to use this i'm going to set that tape off to the side i've got a lot of fun things to show you tonight but i decided i wanted to take this a step further so let me show you what i did i took a piece of silver foil i know you're going to have a really bright glare because of the studio lights and i do apologize for that so this is the same circle that made that opening i'm going to lay this here you are going to want a slightly larger circle that's all part of the layering circles dies that i absolutely love and you're going to see that they nest inside of each other perfectly if yours don't feel like they nest really well go back to that tape to anchor it down and you're going to die cut it once again which is going to leave you this love love love this we're going to talk about this in just a moment but i want to finish this card because i want to give you a really great tip about this so let's go ahead and let's fold up on that crease line i'm going to use my bone folder for that nice crisp edge now if you're anything like me trying to gauge exactly where this is going to fall is always tricky so let me show you what i do i take a tiny bit of adhesive i mean tiny and i even break some of it down with my finger because i want just enough for it to hold itself in place without saying stacked there i'm going to use my very favorite pencil in the whole world again it's in my craft room favorites this is the bic number two pencil the reason i love this is the lead is super super soft and the eraser is as slick as it gets now also if you're new to stamping you may notice that you hate to adhere it then stamp and i'm the same way because guess what happens if we have a boo-boo then we have to like peel all this off right let's move over now to the memento black ink and i am using this absolutely stunning stamp and this comes from peaceful cabin this does have coordinating dies you are going to want this i promise it is exquisite and i love this not just for those wintry feel cards but i love these for christmas cards and masculine cards as well really fun woodsy feel to it you're going to see that i'm inking it face up and that's very very important when your stamp is relative to the size of your ink pad or it's larger than your ink pad because i have missed spots and there's nothing worse than after you ink it up and you're like oh i missed a corner so i find doing it this way helps now because i know exactly where my window was going to fall i can place strategically where i want my image so i'm going to go ahead and center it here and i'm going to press take your time with these detailed images so that you can get all the image out this stamp is gorgeous isn't it this is what we call a distinctive stamp which means it's intended to look more like a photograph than a stamped image now inside that same stamp set we got a little smoke so i'm going to go ahead and i'm going to ink that off just to make it a little bit lighter i'm going to put that right there outside of my chimney now while your ink is wet you're obviously not going to want to erase your pencil mark but i'm going to just talk you through this you're going to want to use that same eraser on this pencil because it virtually will leave absolutely no impression on your paper i'm avoiding that ink because i know some of it is still a little bit wet perhaps but you can see what a great job this is doing by just removing all those pencil lines so that it's not visible still plenty of room on this side of your card for you to be able to write a greeting of course stamp another sentiment and then here on the back side is where you're going to add the rest of your adhesive now i want to show you something because we made the pencil mark and we lined it up where we wanted it it should line up perfectly now if you're not real confident i want you just to take a little look and that looks good to me so we're going to press that down now do you remember we talked about this all right so let's bring in that silicone craft sheet once again i'm reaching down for my liquid glue and this little holder is in my craft room favorites for you as well i love the glue but this tip was really really really challenging for me because it's not narrow enough so let me show you another product that i absolutely love again in my craft room favorites i squirted this inside of here before you squirt make sure the lid is upside down so it squirts really really well but this precision tip bottle is worth its weight and gold give it a little shake get it started on your silicone craft sheet it will make the tiniest little dots and you will call me and you will thank me because this is going to be a game changer for those intricate dies when you make these little rings or these little frames for your card it is stunningly simple to add just a little bit of glue without going crazy and then what you're able to do then is you're able to center this right around that opening and if you're not real brave because tonight boy things have not been going well so let's use that silicone craft sheet just in case i hit the inside and then we're going to go right around that rim and you're going to give that just under a minute to dry and it's going to dry famously and now you have another finished way so this card actually encompasses two ways to use your circle dies to create the frame and what we call a peekaboo opening let's talk about this easy peasy when you go to put it away that little silicone lid is going to snap right on top of there that ink or i'm sorry that ink that glue will never ever dry you don't have to worry about that all right so we've got two so far let's go ahead now and let's move over oh to the last idea nope not the last one i've got another one for you i've got them lined up here tonight this is just a small card this is actually measuring three and a half by three and a half and i wanted to make a circle shaped card i'm going to go ahead and fold that over here on the crease using my bone folder and then this time we're going to bring in the largest circle die that you have this piece of paper is going to be adjusted to the size die that you're going to be used so you can limit yourself to nothing the largest circle die that you own is as large as your card can be here comes the die cut machine this is my stamp and cut an emboss machine absolutely cannot live without it it is a workhorse here in the studio i know you've got some glare i've got my base plate here underneath i've got plate number two because i'm going to use a thin die it comes with all of this it also comes with your clear plates one on the bottom to protect it let's take this now and i am going to position this on the front of my card we are going to use the tape once again that's going to be really really important so what i'm going to do is i'm going to grab myself a couple pieces here and i'm going to navigate this so part of the die does not fall on the card stock now it's not important if it's centered or not because watch what's going to happen now if you're really really brave you can make this even shallower but for tonight to teach you i'm just going to go ahead and i'm going to ink this anchor this here and i'm going to anchor this here i'm going to go ahead now i'm going to take my other clear mat over the top aligning my plates and i love that this is a little bit wider than every other die cutting machine out there and we are going to crank this through now it's making all kinds of noises because i'm treating myself to brand new cutting plates tonight that's kind of a little special treat and that has now left us with this now let me show you you can see how nicely it's cut i'm going to go ahead and just separate these by just kind of shimmying them here's your tape if you are careful you're going to see that i'm pulling this off if it's not die cut these little pieces i can use over and over and over again actually the more you use it the better that it is now you might be looking at this thinking uh oh your tape is on the card yeah well don't worry let me show you this is where my take your pick tool is going to come into play i come right up underneath here and i very carefully get it started if you've got a nice long nail you can go ahead and use that as well and i'll do the same thing here and that's actually going to remove the tape from here now these little pieces if you're really conservative like i am you can go ahead and you can remove these and then you can save them obviously from this side you're going to be able to see what the other side looks as well but you've got yourself a little circle card now let me show you what i did with this i've got a finished one here i use that exact same smaller circle die to die cut some designer series paper that paper again is from peaceful place you'll remember that we just used that on this card same series a reverse side and then i used another stamp set and another dye i use the gingerbread dies with the frosted gingerbread let me show you the inside this is where the stamp set came into play so i was able to ink this up and stamp off to give me a very subtle snowflake here and i stamped my words from another image and then i went ahead and made myself a little tiny card now let me give you some ideas about this in addition to being a great gift tag or for a box or bag these are going to be fantastic for place card settings for the holidays perhaps you're hosting thanksgiving or christmas this year maybe a fall party perhaps a shower you can lay this right in their plate or at their place setting you can put their name or initial on the top and you can leave a small message on the inside so lots of fun little ways to use these lots of ways to decorate them you do not have to add die-cut images you can also add stamped images as well so that's the fourth way you can use your circle dies but this last one is my favorite let me go ahead and move some of these things out of the way so that i can show you this last one and bring this one in i've got a little tray here with a bunch of stuff and i'm going to talk you through what i've done here so that you can learn as well now we've already talked about circle dies okay so i've used various sizes of the circle dies already this little titan tray you're going to find in my craft room favorites as well it's magnetic and it holds my circle dies and lots of other small dies because i was tired of losing them fantastic product and i used the layering circles accompaniment inside of here they give you scallops as well which is fantastic because they fit together so we've already layered those up ahead of time just to save a little bit of time for you but i want to give you a little bit of a tip do you see how these are textured i use these embossing folders now these are the mini embossing folders and i love them and these two are my favorite for winter cards so this one's got a snowflake pattern and this one has a pine bough pattern on them really really lots of fun you're gonna be able to find these in the annual catalog so i did these two ahead of time now the next thing i decided to do was go ahead and to layer these and i'm gonna need my pierce mat and my pierce mat is actually going to help me to make sure that i don't pierce my work surface so what we're going to do is we're going to take these two together and we're going to line them up so they're fairly centered the next step is we're going to take our piercing tool attachment on the take your pick tool remember this dials out you get a little scraper there to pick up those adhesive mistakes and it also comes with a stylus tool there's great little putty tip here for sequins and small pieces of paper but this paper piercing tool attachment is going to allow you to pierce through paper and i love it because it's a workhorse it's going to pierce through here very very well so what i'm going to do now is i am actually going to pierce right here at the top i want to make sure that i'm going through both layers so if you don't want to go here you can go here and you're going to make a hole leave this hanging here that's just a great tip for you because invariably we'll pull this out we'll go to reach for that little tiny bread and we'll have lost our spot anybody else with me just like that so i'm going to go ahead and i'm going to wiggle that right inside of there these little tiny brads are wonderful they actually come from a brad assortment called round and square brads square apparently is like the new circle it's wildly popular they come in black and white and various sizes so i found it perfect for this card now i'm going to set that aside for the next step which is believe it or not another circle so let me go ahead and pull that out here which i've done ahead of time but for this layer i want to change things up this time i made myself a little face so do you see where i'm going with this we're going to change things and make this really really fun and wait to see what you're going to be able to do with this this was just cut from a scrap piece of card stock there is no pattern just go crazy they do not have to be even i used a little bit of a sponge dauber for some cheeks and i actually drew this on with my black stampin white marker nothing fancy all right i'm going to go ahead and take my adhesive and i'm going to add to the back of what's going to be my face and that's going to be here and i'm going to center that here on top of this now before i go too far i decided i wanted to gussy this up a little bit and give you even more ideas to use your circle dies so watch what i did next this comes from the celebration designer series paper yep isn't this wonderful this designer series paper is free and the celebration brochure and it's a great great product you're going to be able to find it in the sail brochure and it's free with every 50 purchase lots of fun things in here and this one is called peaceful prints so i use that really fun plaid for that wintry feel but let me show you what i did when i die cut this from my circle which left me this i die cut it once again so let me show you i went like this taped it down and die cut it again which left me this now watch we're going to take this and we're going to add a little bit of adhesive back here let me move this out of the way we don't need this anymore give us a little bit more space we're going to add this right up underneath here like so before i go too far and press too much i've got another thing i want to teach you i've got that same designer series paper and a long strip and this time i'm going to be using my banners pick a punch so this creates banner tips and two different shapes and varying sizes so you can see that the grooves here start narrow and go long so watch we're going to slide this one in we're going to go right up the track and then we're going to press we're gonna pull it out we're gonna do the exact same thing now on this side make sure you're all the way to the back of the punch and press then what i did is i took my scissors and i cut these in half and i trimmed them up just to have varying sizes because i decided that he needed to have a little bit of a scarf for his outfit now there's a couple ways you can do this i found by attaching it to the back side it was a bit cumbersome for what i'm going to do when i'm finished so watch i'm going to add a little adhesive here and i'm going to add a little adhesive here i am going to tuck these up underneath here so they are well hidden so these are going to be in my scarf tails right and then if you need more adhesive you can actually go ahead and do that if you choose i'm just going to go through this quickly so that you get an idea how this works the next thing i decided is not only does he need eyes right he needs a hat so let me show you another great way for you to use your punch this is called the label me lovely punch and i actually punched two of these from black card stock here's the first one believe it or not this is going to make his hat let me show you what i did i took my scissors and i cut from here down so i just made it a little bit smaller now i'm going to turn it i'm going to do the exact same thing now on this side so i'm just meeting those two ends up then i just determined how long i wanted it to be and i just cut it in half okay so it's got another half started here for another hat then what i did is i punched a second one and i cut off a longer strip here which left me with this are you with me so far all right now let me give you a little tip about how to make your winter cards look even wintery this is white chalk it's actually chalk it's white pigment ink but it gives you a chalky finish so let me make a little bit more room here and let me show you what i did i inked up a wedge of a sponge i wanted to make sure it wasn't too too strong so i kind of dabbed off here just to make sure i can control it and i went all the way around the hat and the brim okay you get the idea then just to bring some continuity to the card i took a little bit of the designer series paper and i added it to my hat okay when i was all done it left me with this now let's go ahead and let's finish this i'm going to attach this here and i'll go back to my silicone craft sheet once again let's add our adhesive here at the bottom and i want to make sure it's going to stick only to his head you also want to keep in mind that you're going to want to leave a little bit of room for those eyes so i'm going to put mine here on an angle and then i'm going to come in now with my black matte dots if you're like me and you can't draw a circle for eyes these things are wonderful and when is black never in style right so for this i went ahead and i chose these smaller ones well you know what let's use the bigger one i think he needs a fun expression so i'm going to put one here near his nose and i'll do another one here to his other side and you're going to notice they're not even and i did that on purpose because i wanted this to have some character now finally let's go ahead and let's put this together in order to do that you are going to need to spiral these and move this up that's very very important when i was learning this that was my first mistake is i didn't open this this piece now is going to get attached to here it's very very important though that they end up being centered because we want to make sure that when it's closed it's all going to line up perfect so i'm going to go ahead and i'm just going to eye this and that we're going to do is we are going to swivel this where's my paper piercing tool attachment and then i have my little mini brad right here make sure that he is perfectly aligned and when you go to close this it's actually going to turn down and this is going to turn up all right so far so good we're going to go ahead and we're going to pierce this and we're going to make a little hole here we're going to go through everything and we're going to bring our brad in and we are going to attach this and let's talk about what we can do with this if you add a little bit of twine you're going to have the most adorable christmas ornament or special package tag add yourself another circle in addition to that you are going to have a great way to dress up a table setting add a little peppermint candy here to the back and wheel him off to the side now let me show you all the projects that we made today all right obviously we have our little snowman guy here okay that we just did we also have our circle card that we made that can be a tag or a place setting we also have our peekaboo opening with our circle frame so this is three ideas with your circle dies and then finally we have our tunnel card this is the one i demonstrated and then i had one other for you as an idea now i know we went a little bit longer tonight than we normally did but i packed a lot into tonight's live and i'm really really hoping that
