what's up welcome to another live stream we're checking out dying light 2 stay human you know a lot of people forget this but the first dying light was actually a huge tremendous success 17 million lifetime sales 17 million that is really very impressive dying light 2 is actually the second most wish list game on steam behind uh elden ring well i guess it still is because it comes out tomorrow technically anyway uh we're just gonna hop in have some fun so it's blizzarding outs wow actually it's really picking up it's uh blizzarding outside my house right now so there might be some issues if the stream cuts out just picture that um i'm in minnie's haberdashery [Laughter] hopefully i'm snowed in with a uh uh more jovial group of people than that but yeah just you know picture that anyway what's up guys welcome to dying light 2. i'm gonna go ahead and make my preview full screen i'm playing this in my preview window um but yeah again it's blizzarding outside my house so if there's any technical difficulties i apologize uh take it up with father winter morning everybody but um yeah this is this is going to be interesting let me just check what we're playing with all right quality mode sweet so dying light 2 has a couple different modes we're playing this on the xbox series x um i'm playing this through quality mode which is native 1080p but it has ray tracing unfortunately it's locked at 30fps there's also a resolution mode which is around 1800p at 30fps and then performance which is 60 fps no rage racing and 1080p native but apparently this game is pretty good looking anyway we're just going to hop in and we're going to going to check it out zombie parkour [Music] uh [Applause] [Applause] woo you still got it you know this game used to be more fun and you used to be younger i ain't dumber what matters is you steal just as fast because the slope yeah i know i know get up here i want to show you something oh man i'm actually really impressed that was in game man this is looking nice dying light too this game is uh it's kind of flown under people's radars as far as 2022 games are concerned but oh what a nice effect oh man oh that is tight so we're playing on quality mode xbox series x it's got ray tracing unfortunately it runs at 1080p 30fps but the ray tracing is worth it anyway look at that wonderful lighting effect you can kind of see a little bit of um flare from the metal car door well we got some zombie parkour to get to anyway what's up guys welcome back it's been quite a few years since the first dying light um that game was a big success though 17 million lifetime sales and now here we are 2022 and we finally have the sequel and it is really a breathtaking game so far a little bit of popping in the shadows but that's all right i was a big fan of mirror's edge the first mirror's edge uh catalyst not so much and this is basically mirrors of with zombies so how can you lose [ __ ] man you're still strong oh by the way i forgot to mention this is pre-day one i don't think the day one patch installed uh techland has been advising people not to play the game until tomorrow because that's when the day one patch is supposed to apply oh hey zombie what if i can get over there i don't think so sometimes developers include fun little um alternative routes for intros like far cry 4 where you could end the game in like 15 minutes i'm just seeing if there's some way i could jump over there and see if i could punch some zombies i don't think that's possible but it's worth a shot by the way how does this look should be a silky smooth 30 fps if 30fps can be considered silky smooth but i just want to make sure i'm checking the preview window right now before we continue yeah looks like it's good alright sweet yeah looks good okay i thought about streaming this to 60 fps but i figure it's a live stream it's not as bad watching 30 fps it is as it is playing at 30 fps so it's worth the trade off for the uh real time ray traced shadows and i think ambient occlusion as well oh yeah these lighting effects are great yeah sweet how do we get up there i went for a running start and i held down the jump button all right let's try that one more time oh come on thanks it's good to see you spike how long has it been far too long but don't get all mushy on me now come i want to show you something where we going you'll see it's incredible well it's incredible most pilgrims don't last two three years on the road now you've been kicking around for what four years now and you're still alive so are you i know but i'm [ __ ] awesome yeah yeah right right seriously i wish i had as much energy as you got a new lead on jane uh trail went cold after new paris which route you take through baynes or gary that baines what a [ __ ] some five rickety huts left and a ramshackle fence look at that a beehive full of honey can't let an opportunity like this go to waste no way oh look around if we're lucky there's chamomile growing here too [Music] hey that's actually a pretty nice effect that's not bad at all was this chamomile lucky you know what chamomile looks like right this'll do you remember that old herbalist we helped escort to her village oh yeah the one that had that saying uh remember chamomile and honey are gifts that keep giving combine you just might go on living there's certainly a lot of crafting in these games it's crazy how this almost feels like a throwback we've got um another zombie survival crafting game except it's not early access wow yeah if you guys are seeing stuttering that's uh probably because the day one patch has not been applied again um the game really it's it's advisable that you wait for the day one patch if you can i didn't wait for that obviously we're playing this a little earlier than you're supposed to be and there's some issues as a result come on we're almost there this is it come on wow somebody had a nice crib damn it locked i'll try to get through here you check the other side take anything we could use yeah sure all right let's see you can't expect me to hold your hand all the time you know what this 30 fps is actually taking some getting used to i'm kind of wishing that i switched to uh 60 fps my biggest problem with 30 fps it's not the it's really not the visuals i'm okay with the blurring streaking what have you it's the input delay like the input is just oh it's rough i can't believe so i'm playing off my capture card preview window right and this is nothing this is nothing to do with this game this is just the reality of 30 fps anyway i'm playing off my capture card preview window and i'm thinking is that is that really the reason it's supposed to be relatively instant so i turn on my television because i've uh you know i've got my capture card bypassed directly to the television no it's the 30fps the uh the capture card has nothing to do with it it's just man is it rough oh god i can't play even driving games at 30 fps anymore the input delay is just too much it's not fun but i'm gonna continue with the 30. um i am going to switch over to the television because i'll take anything i can get honestly i'm really surprised how unacceptable how absolutely i'm just moving my microphone don't mind me how absolutely unacceptable i find 30 fps to be from a gameplay perspective i really can't believe it it's a damn shame because i do prefer visual fidelity unless it's a multiplayer game but i just can't do it anymore i can't i couldn't believe i think the really eye-opening thing the eye-opening moment was when i was playing forza horizon 5 at 30 fps and my racing performance was actually being affected it's not a competitive shooter it's a racing game you would think if there's a game where you could manage a lower frame rate it would be forza but no i couldn't stand it cinematics be damned all right there we go yeah okay thank you guys for being patient with that um honestly i wasn't expecting to have this much of an issue with uh the frame rate so welcome we just started i'm still in the tutorial actually uh basically i'm going to be switching between different volumes depending if it's a cutscene or gameplay meaning all right sweet uh meaning whenever there's a cut scene i'm gonna raise the volume of the game and the game's characters so you can hear them well i'm going to turn on subtitles as uh as well this isn't really a le oh god oh again this is no slide on the game this is just 30 fps how did i ever play on the xbox 360 in playstation 3 that's the nice thing about these next-gen consoles though if you um if you want oh [ __ ] yeah if you want you can always go for the 60 fps options those are pretty standard nowadays all right looks like we're good again thank you for your patience i'm uh streaming this at just to recap we're playing this on xbox series x i'm streaming this at a high bit rate and we're playing on quality mode i am absolutely shocked and stunned that that wasn't a jump scare oh there it is we're breaking into some dude's house yeah just rats i think it's time we parted ways why i'm starting to worry about you and you know what i'm saying if you're starting to worry about someone it means it's time to go i've never heard that saying before in my life you know i'm starting to get sketched out by this guy anyway when in rome let's go ahead and ransack this place i'm assuming there's nothing of value here but this is a crafting survival game with zombies i'll take anything i can get i don't trust that guy you know what they say when you start to get a bad feeling about a guy that's getting a bad feeling about you the bad feelings are mutual maybe my survivor sense will tell me something about him no guess not and that's what they called art you know it's really not a bad looking place that rug is awesome not a bad looking game either the ray tracing really does make a big difference um i'm hoping they're going to release a patch kind of like they did for guardians of the galaxy which gives us you know something between quality mode and performance mode performance rate racing in other words that would be sweet what's this oh finally juicy stuff cans rags that's it you know what if you're in a zombie apocalypse the last place you want to rob is some rich guys pierre there you know this is uh this is a nice pad but what's he gonna have you want to rob old man jenkins down the street you know the crazy guy that's hoarding guns and junk because that junk gonna be able to craft that new explosives into uh rat bats how do we vault oh sick so yeah if you guys are new to dying lights i mean the first game sold 17 million copies it's a pretty popular franchise nevertheless if you are new to dying light the draw to this game is the parkour and the zombies really it's both it's like chocolate and peanut butter the two just go so well together man it's taken it's taken a lot for me to get used to 30 fps though i gotta say the ray tracing looks incredible but whenever there's motion it just gets all blurry and that's nothing against this game this this game's a rock solid 30 fps it's just you know it's 30 fps regardless parkour and zombies is a wonderful combination i'm actually kind of excited about this game it's the second most wish list game on steam next to eldon ring and for good reason because teclan supported the hell out of dying light one tons and tons actually they just released a new dlc for what like couple months ago it's pretty impressive what's this she was classy how exactly can we tell how classy she was she's sitting in a life preserver with uh with what what is that what is that what is that what's that say meta meta something i can't make it out metamorphosis if you say so ayden whenever i see pictures of real people in video games i just i wonder which developer was this i ran from you they say that once the virus makes you turn you're gone forever that can't be true i know you're still in there underneath all that pain and disease i'm coming to join you no more running god hey come here check this out that sounds like a challenge all right what's the fastest it was gonna be um lore books so if you're wondering why there's all kinds of crazy cuts and you're watching this after it's live that's because i'm gonna slice this live stream up like a smoked sturgeon that is if youtube's video editor starts working it's not been working too well i like to slice up live streams into more interesting versions of themselves or maybe frankenstein versions of themselves depending on your view anyway aidan's got a special job i like these um it's a simple story really aidan's looking for a guy looking for a girl and that's pretty much it but thanks to spike we've got a lead pilgrim's path already selected huh and pinned not that we have much else to look at oh maps not open yet okay there she is radio antenna i like to play games like this without the hud without the mini-map at least if i'm not streaming it's fun to get lost in these open worlds i really appreciate when games are well designed enough where you can explore the world organically go sushima sucker punch talked about um their school of thought approaching the map design and development of the world or the development of tsushima itself and they said what they wanted more than anything else was for players to be able to explore the world organically without feeling the need to use a mini map or waypoints or anything else oh man look at that ray tracing oh that's beautiful real quick i'm gonna see if i can turn off and on ray tracing at will without having to restart the game uh well let's go with performance oh sick oh man i'm streaming at 30 fps so you can't see this but it is silky smooth 60fps all right look at the difference in the grass okay this is on the xbox series x that's the grass uh without rage racing and here it is with ray tracing it all is checking this out on next-gen hardware that isn't the next-gen console how do we get inside this oh [ __ ] the physicality is just great oh that rag doll's fantastic you know it's almost like far cry but you know with some life to it it's like if they didn't make far cry every other year actually i think they aren't they basically on a yearly schedule with far cry considering the spin-off titles oh [ __ ] let's see if we can go for a sneak attack nice and quiet oh yeah yeah yeah yeah god i can barely see it so dark in here that's another perk of ray traced uh shadows and i don't think this is ray trace global illumination but it does have a ray trace ambient occlusion um realistically dark interiors this looks fantastic on an oled display really impressive stuff all right anyway let's uh get over to that radio tower yo why is this zombie dressed up like a babushka we're in the states smart though you know keeps uh keeps that skin dewy fresh if you don't have any sunscreen which i'm guessing they probably don't far cry 6 was a major letdown i don't know far cry 6. i felt far cry 6 was all right alex i mean it's the most alright far cry i've ever gotten man this is cool design but the problem is i think it's just been wearing a little fin you know we've gotten oh crap i side dashed it's been a long time since i played dying light you have to excuse me i'm getting used to controls the controls are actually pretty in-depth you can uh dash i think you can even animation cancel holy [ __ ] oh god i love those blood effects tight is that a breaking bad reference in 2022 anyway it's kind of reminded me of um fallout 4 in terms of art design really nice i'm guessing we can vault up the bus oh god i can only jump so high uh what about the interior okay this is pretty damn cool so obviously we're still in the introductory area i'm not even really past the tutorial yet this is a really well designed tutorial area i'm hoping the entire map is as playful as this is looking at this game is kind of like what i always wanted fallout 3 to be when i was a kid which is i mean not necessarily a parkour game but a game where um the entire world was scalable realistically scalable if you wanted it to be like if that was your play style i mean we we all treated our horses as all-terrain vehicles in the skyrim anyway so you know being able to i cannot make that jump being able to realistically um climb up surfaces that you would be able to in real life it's nice it's it's a really nice touch really appreciated the world of this has kind of reminded me of the stand of course that may just be because i'm a stand stand all right i'm gonna be real stealthy here i don't want to wake any of these guys up if you're seeing frame drops i don't know what that is oh [ __ ] hold on you guys are seeing frame drops all right how about now looks good to me i've got a i've got a green light how's it now okay looks smooth all right thank you thank you guys keep me posted all right i promise this is the last time but look at that view oh my god that's just it's it doesn't just look good the lights the colors are not just pleasing to my corneas but you know the scale of it the scale of this i don't know how far we can trek out just yet like i don't know if we can actually go to that mountain maybe probably not oh the hand looks good too look at that bottom right hand corner beautiful texturing the way the wrinkles and scars catch the light really nice anyway i promise i'm gonna start playing the game but the scale of this freeway is just really really well done and it's harder to execute things like that than you would think like um believable scaling of environments that we can easily have reference points of like freeway intersections tunnels so for them to get that right for them to really nail it that's something that makes a big difference in my immersion okay i really wish i had a like cause i can barely see this i'm just gonna see if i can sneak past this guy without traveling on the rooftops of these vehicles i think we're good where's that damn antenna there it is wow that is a vertical cliff face i've ever seen one the only thing that i'm noticing visually is the uh popping of shadows that's the only negative but again i really need to stress this this is not um the day one patch that i'm playing all right this game techland has suggested that you wait uh to play this until the day one patch is applied i didn't do that so whatever poppin you see whatever glitches you see just chalk it up to the day one patch i don't know exactly what that fixes but according to tech land it fixes quite a lot am i supposed to be going [ __ ] yeah i'm rusty all right oh there we go something that sets this apart from other games is the fact that you've got stamina that you expend while you're parkouring that can affect your uh your grip strength how well you're able to hang onto objects in addition to more obvious things like jumping and sprinting okay i said that was gonna be the last time i appreciate the graphics since the last time let's move on it's time we kill some zombies and do some sick parkour for those of you that have been missing mirror's edge this is a game that maybe should be on your radar oh boy oh boy damn it i i got it i got it [ __ ] that was close back in my day i played the mirror's edge speed run trials and i was damn good at it yeah sure grandpa let's get you back to bed what the hell is that a diving board all right i'm pretty sure i'm going the opposite direction where i'm supposed to be going because uh yeah let's start climbing up i'm going to ignore that zip line radio towers up there maybe we're supposed to go the long way around i don't know what rock faces we can climb up yet oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] can we climb this damn oh come on come on come on yes yes yeah baby we're doing it oh [ __ ] is that his up holy [ __ ] is he dead oh he's dead poor son of a [ __ ] oh this is [ __ ] cool i don't know if we're supposed to be able to climb up this cliff face but the game doesn't really care so i'm just going to do it oh this is sick i can't wait to see what speedrunner is going to be able to hack this game into okay uh [ __ ] it hopefully this doesn't take stamina oh god it does effortless execution you know what this is reminding me of metro metro exodus actually it kind of looks like we could scale that i don't think so it looks like a chalk line but [ __ ] well that's fun so there's a date night cycle to dying light too just like there was in the first game we're not there yet we're on a scripted day night cycle currently for the purposes of tutorial sick oh my god look at the size of this parkour skill tree you've leveled up your parkour proficiency and earned your forced uh parkour skill point all right we're gonna put this all right uh there are three skill trees in dying light one as you can see it's been condensed into two i don't know if that's them cutting the uh the fat or what high jump allows you to reach higher ledges i thought we already had that oh we had long jump not high jump you got spring jumps i'm guessing you can tuck and roll certain parkour moves gives you boosts of speed wall running oh man this is cool i'm kind of hoping that in the in the next dying light if there is a dying light three maybe it's set a little ways in the future and they get a little crazy with it and we have a grappling hook and you know i guess i just really want titanfall 3. oh well this is a really good looking nighttime ugh it's already dark it's time to hide somewhere for the night it won't get any better than this all right let's see if i can try this again what i'm trying to do is a long jump up to the ledge and i don't think it wants me to do that yet do you see that oh it's just a curtain okay this is it our first abandoned house alone am i scared no of course not i don't need spike to help me explore this place i'm guessing we're supposed to be getting in through that uh second floor window right yeah definitely okay long jump don't fail me now oh close very close really wish you had a flashlight gas station think so oh sick i mean oh what a respectable crafting material we can use that to clean our wounds oh that's right there's a weapon degradation what is this this looks like a weapon that should be in silent hill oh my god raggedy chopper goodness gr this is handmade this is th this is uh armageddon craftsmanship all right let's check this thing out that's actually a lot faster than i thought it thing people are gonna head up for the grocery stores then the gun shops and then ace hardware and after that you're not gonna be finding uh uh uh a torque wrench in somebody's trash can what's with all these midwestern homes throwing away ace hardware stores most of these doors are locked i'm just checking before we leave [Music] what the hell is that [Applause] it's some sort of a cirque du soleil zombie some enemies use power attacks that deal massive damage and can knock you down when an enemy is about to use a power attack use his health bar when it starts spelling red as an indicator to dodge to avoid being hit okay um this is great all right i'll have to take care of these guys i literally can't see [ __ ] right now i don't know what it looks like for you guys but i'm playing on an oled display and nighttime is really really really dark oh god he's cirque du soleil again he's just hopping like a monkey you know it seems like the choreography of the fights in star wars episode three a lot of flash a lot of pizzazz no substance what are these attacks this is nuts what i really want is just to practice the dodging there we go i'm like one third of the three stooges come on show me what you got there we go oh yeah all right my timing was not perfect i literally can't see these guys i gotta adjust the brightness this is rough not the game my performance all right it's though man i wish i had a flashlight sure it's liable to get me killed but at least i could see it happening oh my god that lighting effect is so juicy hey look at that another raggedy chopper don't mind if i do holy [ __ ] that lighting system looks good can't wait to play this on a 3080 all right these zombies are incredibly wasteful aren't they so i don't exactly remember the plot of dying light one but how intelligent are these guys i know there's a hierarchy that they have and some are just more capable than others but is it like army of the dead the zack snyder one that came out on netflix last year do they have like a king or something it's like a hive mind i gotta say i'm really impressed with the lighting system safe zones all safe zones are equipped with uv light which guarantees safety at night additionally safe zone offers access to a resting place where you can change the day night phase and access your stash nice i'm gonna close my windows real quick so i can uncle's death in spider-man's case we're getting right to the point where we're in unfamiliar territory and they can really break off and do their own thing i like it it's fun paradise lost whoa whoa whoa do they have no no way they don't have the entirety of paradise lost in the game do they that would be an awesome collectible to pick up pick up the pieces of what a cool looking area or is that appreciate really excited about the next bethesda open world game star field is the closest i don't know how that's going to work out because there's going to be different planets and i'm afraid the planets themselves are going to be fairly limited i have no idea no one does but really excited about the next elder scrolls in particular that's going to be fun yeah this is looking really nice oh that in a video game obviously unless you have a really good speaker system so i don't really mind it it would be nice if it was a little more vague though i think the last of us part two has instantaneously every single time maybe not dlss that's that's trickier dlss is great but um i can definitely tell the difference in resolutions however the resolution mode of this game doesn't have basically just to get in your way is threatening in a way that most zombies in other games wouldn't be threatening like these guys would just be punching bags at any other game but here they're impeding your movement and that in and of itself is very deadly which is cool i like that that's fun infected trophy sweet oh my god more sleeping beauties just oh [ __ ] this time around let's mode runs at around 1800 p slightly higher on xbox than playstation it doesn't seem to run 4k on any console well it it just does not at all run into 4k on any console period personally i would recommend playing the uh real-time ray tracing mode instead of the resolution mode inhibitors are the only way to increase maximum stamina and health so i guess you have to make a choice each upgrade requires three inhibitors inhibitors can be found in jerry crates hidden inside gre quarantines and anomaly locations anomaly locations reminds me of stalker i took the inhibitor go back to the this is huge where did we start out um earlier we started out at the bazaar which is right here so we traveled that distance yeah that's pretty nuts okay welcome to villadore you have now unlocked the open world of villadore your first goal is to visit the survivor's hub of bizarre you'll find a merchant resting place in your stash use your binoculars and serve the area to reveal additional locations of the map like windmills which activate new safe zones as you explore the world watch your compass for encounters they offer a chance to help some of villador's civilians in exchange for xp and various rewards great well it looks like we have finally competed uh completed the uh tutorial which is kind of nuts that was a big tutorial here we go all right i'm gonna try to parkour over to the bazaar as fast as i possibly can by the way if you guys are just joining up welcome we're playing on the series x today but tomorrow uh we're playing this on a 3080. this is really cool i don't whatever is left of military patrols i know of one place south of horseshoe near the old electrical substation bandits roam in the area so it's possible there's nothing left there in which case you'll the devil's bargain of velador in with the plague but given the chance to be the ones who gave the cure to the world well the virus won the study was eventually discontinued and the children officially no one tested on children human rights and other crap and unofficially and unofficially apparently some of the kids were taken out of the city the rest only just scattered around the city abandoned if the infected didn't get them then hunger or darkness did where are all these kids at now after all those years most of them are probably dead if someone got luckier and is still wandering around they will probably be in the central loop more peacekeepers there easier to survive someone must know more why the past is the past and there's no point in dredging it back up everyone has pretty dope by the way co-op for payload infinite has sadly been delayed halo infinites are really good halo though love the new gameplay mechanics that they've got it's just different enough while um still maintaining some of the classic uh halo gunplay that i love so much we don't have too many arena shooters so you gotta what the hell wait where's the marker i set there it is looks like map markers aren't necessarily 3d normally you want to stick to the rooftops it doesn't really matter since we're about to enter this area the gre anomaly is the lair of a powerful infected that corrupts the areas and reanimates the dead around it to face the revenant oh god you need to enter the gre anomaly location at night after you defeat the revenant a nearby military container will open and weapon mods dark hollows are the best place to find valuables and old world money good to know so i guess we're right on top of one huh this low fob is cool oh my god oh my god yeah i forgot this is a
