from my craft room to the kitchen to my bathroom and even my closet I am taking you everywhere today let's go hey everyone welcome to my channel my name is Courtney today I am sharing something with you that I do every single summer and that is get my house organized the reason I do it in the summer is because as a DIY content creator our busy season is the fall and Christmas time and as you know it typically starts in August some creators do start in July but it is creeping up on us and one thing I don't want to have to worry about during that busy time is my house being in utter chaos which often it is so I want to take you through my house share some tips and tricks of how I'm organizing different things in different rooms I hope you'll find it helpful I did pick up some supplies from Teemu because they were very cost effective and definitely are helping me get my house organized so let's get this party started let's start off in my craft room the first thing I picked up was this tray organizer they do have it in several different colors and when I saw it I thought okay this is something I'll be able to utilize for the fall and Christmas time it did come in pieces you had to assemble it I just followed the picture it took me about 10 minutes to put it together nothing too tricky you don't need any tools to do it I like that it has two drawers up at the top but what I will be using this for is scrapbook paper so in the fall and Christmas time I often use a lot of holiday scrapbook paper and a lot of those sheets are just loose sheets that I pick up from Hobby Lobby or Michael's I do have packs of scrapbook paper but this is just going to be for the scraps and the pieces and I thought this would be a great thing to have next to my craft table where I can easily access all of that holiday scrapbook paper the next thing I picked up was actually something you can use in your bedroom as well to organize socks or bras panties all that good stuff but I'm using it in my craft room and it's this little organizing piece here it is a sliding drawer system like this so what you can do is on the top it's got these Hooks and you simply put that on the Shelf it comes with the little white stickers that you can attach to the back side to make sure it's nice and adhered and then inside are the little clear dividers you can configure it however you want and so when I saw this I thought this is going to be great for all of my scrap ribbon so I have a great system for organizing my big rolls of ribbon but often I'll trim off pieces or trim too much and then I've got these little scraps so I thought this would be perfect because I can see through the clear plastic very easily and grab those ribbon pieces when I need them continuing in the craft room I did pick up this white basket I like that it had Wheels on the back I do have a lot of shelves in my craft room so I just felt like this is just something you know easy to grab easy to see you can stick it you can roll it and it's actually really heavy duty it is not flimsy at all it's very thick plastic very good so I'll be putting this on one of my shelves and storing some goodies in it all right let's move into organizing some personal items so this next item that I picked up actually I use it three different ways and that's this 10 pack actually of all these different colors of these plastic snap clothes envelopes so the first way I use these is in our fireproof safe box so this is our little fireproof safe and this is the thing that we grab in the event we have to run out of the house now if we can't that's why it's in a fireproof safe because it will withstand all the weather elements and all that good stuff but inside here each person has one of these little plastic envelopes and inside is all of their important documents so the birth certificate passport Social Security all that good stuff is all in the little envelope easy to grab it also makes it easy for any time you have to go to um you know the DMV or you have to go to the walk doctor or whatever or any time you need to pull important papers you can just grab their one folder it stays secure in here as you're traveling take it with you bring it back you're good to go it just makes life so much easier the next way I like to use these is every time we go on a cruise so cruising is our favorite way of travel we do it quite often I've got two this Summer that I'm so excited about and um we like to put our travel documents in here again passports things like that it keeps it secure keeps it safe keeps it all tidy in one little place the last way I like to use these is when my kids um maybe they have important papers come home that I need to sign for peace of mind uh I like to put them in this because you know what sometimes their backpacks just have random food and drinks and stinky clothes like I don't know I just don't like to go near their backpacks so anytime they are asked to bring something important I let my kids use these to keep those documents safe and clean so this is a very good investment and I use them so much I picked up is this little medicine organizer so you could put medicine in this you could put your supplements in this and what I really like about it is uh they just kind of pop out now I wouldn't recommend popping them out when you take your pills out of them but it's kind of fun to do I'm not gonna lie but um I really do like this because the seven day ones are great but for your everyday life I I just you know every seven days you're refilling it so to have something for 30 days is really really great I don't know that I would travel with this just because it is kind of large in size and if you're going to be gone for 30 days I mean well I guess if you're gonna be gone for 30 days it'd be worth it just wrap it with some Saran Wrap to keep these in here but those seven day ones I think are great for travel this one is just great for everyday life the next item I picked up was something just kind of fun so I don't know if you're like me my nightstand is not organized I have way too much on it from my iPad to my airpods remote glasses phone water cup I mean it's utter chaos there and I'm not even kidding pretty much every other night I find myself knocking my glasses off hearing them hit the floor and then praying that when I wake up in the morning I don't step on them because I forgot I knocked them down so y'all I got this it is a little glasses holder you could certainly use it for sunglasses but it's just this little pig they had several different animals and I just thought you know what sometimes you just gotta have a little fun in your life so this is going to help me keep my glasses organized and hopefully keep them from falling on the floor in the middle of the night time to move in to the kitchen now this item has been so needed for me my spice shelf is out of control like it it was organized but not really organized and y'all I found this okay so this is a spice organizer what I really like about it is you do not have to permanently attach it to your shelf it's got these stoppers on it and it stays in place it doesn't move you can load your spices up and then very easily just slide these out they turn so that you can see what is in the shelf and y'all total Game Changer my spice cabinet was just a hot mess and now I've got these and like I just absolutely love them totally worth it if you have Crazy Town spices in your house who else has a water bottle maybe a skinny tumbler maybe certain glasses kind of situation where you just find yourself uh collecting these items and not really real realizing that you have so many uh yeah we do so I picked up two of these organizers to organize water bottles to organize special glasses whatever I'm gonna get down there in the kitchen and figure out what I need to put but I thought you know what we've got five people in my family we don't need 20 water bottles so five water bottles plus an extra is going to be perfect they stack right on top of each other which is great you can put it in your pantry you can put it in a cabinet you can put it wherever you want to on the counter if you access them frequently but a very good deal for these heavy duty storage containers now this next little thing is just a fun way to organize your snacks I couldn't this cute little snack bag here um so this is just something for I thought would be good for travel if you're going on the road something like that it's a pretty good size you can spit all kinds of little things in there I know when we travel we definitely like to stop and get snacks it's a good way to keep it it's got a nice handle on it so again just something kind of cute to keep all of those snacks organized perhaps you have a coffee slash tea mug addiction where you just tend to collect them and you love them well you guys you need this this is a little pack that came it's a six pack that came with these easy little stackers here they are mug stackers that allow you to be able to stack your mug securely on top of each other keeping them nice and organized in your cabinet so that way you don't have to stop buying those mugs not that I'm telling you you should the slower clear here but if you are a mug collector these are a game changer and totally worth the purchase rounding up the kitchen organization is this utensil storage this is great if maybe you have skinnier drawers it allows you to put your forks knives and spoons all in one little spot it's also got these little places where you can put some little serving um knives if you have some of those but it's a perfect size it's again very heavy duty easy to clean and wipe out if you need to after you've used it for a while but a great way to keep those kitchen drawers organized let's move in to the closet and start with shoe organization so I've got two different shoe organizers that I picked up the first one is this one so you're looking at it probably thinking what in the world is this you simply snap it together it puts together pretty easily you just gotta snap the sides in and what this will allow you to do is it will allow you to stack your shoes uh you can adjust it from here in the back on the Tilt like that okay so how high if it's a heel or what have you you can adjust it or if it's a sandal and what I noticed is that my shoes are typically either like uh fashion sneakers or sandals and where I was putting two sandals side by side on my um shoe rack using one of these allowed me to put two pairs of shoes where one pair of shoes had originally been so these definitely work well I'm sending a bunch of these with my daughter to college these will be great for dorms if you have somebody in a corn that needs that extra space but you can just slip the shoes on there also the way that I positioned it there's a little tab here that kind of keeps it on my shoe rack and keeps it from sliding off so you can kind of manipulate it to work for you I really think this is a great buy the second shoe organizer is this one right here so it's just one piece you again can get two pairs of shoes using this wear one pair of shoes would have normally fit and you can slide them from the back this is going to be great for tennis shoes it's a little bit wider it does give you a little bit more room for kind of those bulkier shoes but another great piece lots of colors available if you're interested a very sturdy piece to get those shoes organized let's talk hats so if you've been with me for a while especially if you follow me on Instagram you know that I have a baseball hat situation going on and so does Mr Cheap so I picked up this little box of these hooks they look like this and there is a screw hole in there a well as well as some adhesive and you can put these on your closet wall and then hang your baseball hats up very easily so if you know somebody who has loves baseball hats this is a great piece if you didn't want to attach it directly to a wall you certainly could do something a little more creative grab a piece of wood attach these because again it does have the little screw hole here attach this to a piece of wood and make a cute little display that way but it's something easy to do to get all of those hats organized this next item is kind of a funny one because for the most part I wear my glasses and my prescription sunglasses but I do have contacts and surprisingly I do own quite a a few pairs of sunglasses for somebody who rarely wears them so I picked up a sunglass organizer okay I just felt like this would be a great way to display it and kind of keep them you know out where I can see them and then maybe I'd be more prompted to put my contacts on and wear them but it does keep them protected and very secure in this little shelf piece bathroom organization time I have a vanity and I'm gonna be honest my vanity is out of control I already picked up one big piece that I'm gonna show you in a minute that I am loving and it's definitely helped me but before I do that I picked up some palette organizers so I do have a subscription to fabfitfun I absolutely love it and so I do get a lot of makeup things from them and so I felt like it was time for me to actually get a proper palette organizer they have small ones they have ones for the larger palettes and so hopefully this will kind of help me keep all of that contained I also did pick up a lipstick organizer for my daughter she loves lipstick and so I thought this would be a great little thing that she could put in her dorm to kind of just keep them all organized and easily available to her for the next Teemu item I wanted to come down to a reality check here this is my vanity and this is my situation every single day now I thought I was going to do this whole cute two-tier tray thing and have Alice made but the reality of situated situation is every time I reach for stuff stuff Falls over so I saw this on Timmy's website I've seen brand name stores sell items very similar but one thing I wanted to do was get my lipsticks out here instead of having them in the drawer this is really nice it's got this little fold out piece here you can put things here and be able to see it and it kind of contains it in one spot making it easy to grab and then there's more section um down here that you can place items so this is going to replace this let's see if I can make it work and this is what it looks like when everything's in there I have cram packed it but I feel like this is a great way just to kind of keep it contained I can just easily set stuff back in there and got all my lip stuff down at the bottom which is nice and there we go very nice one more makeup organizer that I did want to share I found this makeup brush organizer and what I like about it is that you can stick your makeup brushes in there and they stand straight up and so wherever you're traveling wherever you're going when you open it it's just easily accessible because it stands right up and it's just like working from your makeup brush holder at home which is really great so it's got pockets inside of it to kind of hold some of those smaller brushes in place and then of course the center section for all of those bigger brushes when it comes to hair maybe you have several curling irons hair straighteners what have you I picked up one of these now is it an organization thing I don't know but it does keep it contained and keep your surfaces protected so what I like about it is while you're working with your curling iron you can set this underneath it just to protect those surfaces from the heat elements and the best part about it is is if you're traveling somewhere you've used it and it's still warm but you gotta go you can throw it inside of this it keeps it protected and it's a very good size very sturdy it also has a little hole here if you want to hang it up on like a little hook or something like that you could definitely organize it and keep your hair straightener out and keep it maybe on the wall in your bathroom or something like that with this hook it's pretty sturdy so I think it would hold so yeah definitely am loving this so there's a look at what I have been working on over the last week or so I am continuing to organize with plans in July
