this is by far the hardest environment i've had to deal with i have never felt this week in my entire life [Music] melissa melissa and you really start wondering if this is gonna be a missing person's thing or if we are looking for a body in some of the harshest environments on the planet three days until insertion and i am hard preparing for this big adventure and i'm working at becoming comfortable being naked again which for me is not that difficult i enjoy my body blackwater swamp a survivalist's worst nightmare spanning more than 6 000 acres it's part of florida's treacherous wetlands that are crawling with over one and a half million ferocious alligators i bet there's a lot of gamers right now that are watching me that i can't see in a unique challenge two elite veteran survivalists are returning to take on this putrid swampland facing suffocating humidity and a flooded landscape melissa and jake will need all their expert primitive skills to survive here i've never put my skill set to the test in a location like this so we've got gators venomous snakes that can take you out in a heartbeat if somebody asked me what's the one place you don't want to survive in i found it it's here it's going to be relentless for 21 days [Music] this environment is no joke i think this is definitely going to be the ultimate test this is my third time on naked and afraid i was in the amazon jungle for three weeks this will be a good meal and i survived 40 days in africa this is going to be the hardest environment i've ever survived in i can do anything i set my mind to i'm ready to kick let's go find a naked lady hoping she's my type oh oh my gosh how are you you smell way too good for this challenge oh thank you likewise and our babies would be adorable i could not be more excited to have jake this is a third round for both of us and we both know what it takes to get through these 21 days jake and melissa have been given a pot to purify the stagnant swamp water and they've each brought a personal item a fire starter and a nepalese kukri knife oh gross smells like we're adding eggs that is horrible it's like we're heading straight to hell what the hell is that i don't know if we need to get out [Music] in this area seems to be the driest absolutely we're building a bay frame it really gives us a lot of extra space a lot extra room for wood storage because out here you need plenty of dry wood yeah it's clean okay [Music] yeah fire is so important here because it is the only thing that provides a sense of dryness great job so far i am really happy with my partner she's got a crazy strong work ethic we're gonna really kill it i am not feeling awesome about this oh my gosh look at oh look at the river [Music] [Music] didn't sleep very well up all night feeding the fire day one really sucked wonder what's gonna happen today [Music] get the size of him dinner hey melissa block the weight of the river okay [Applause] okay i'm gonna go around bro melissa get out it's right there we're going on a walk to look for any signs of food these muscles need protein [Music] we can't feel them alone look at that a little gator oh yeah i'm over there too let's get back i want to eat it that's an option we've got them here we just have to have the right the right circumstances to make it happen we need something like that we are going to a place where we think gators might be more likely to be at a place with sun for them to bask we are looking for two foot three foot gators up on land so we can hunt them gators we're going to stream [Music] holy crap [Music] now that the rains have let up for a few days hopefully the animals will be coming back out and we can finally catch a meal yeah holy crap there's a rattlesnake it's a pygmy rattler the pygmy rattlesnake despite its size is responsible for more human snake bites than any other venomous snake in oh florida at those full-grown snakes pygmy rattlers are viviparous meaning they don't lay eggs but give birth to live young after skinning the larger snake we come to find little baby snakes it is hard to kill and eat baby snakes but we're starving out here and we need every amount of food we can get that is gonna be so good okay cheers [Music] oh it's so good [Music] these make me nervous oh gosh okay [Music] oh that's delicious together it's really nice we need to kill more snakes that are pregnant goals [Music] i'm gonna go out on a solo walk see if i can't maybe find some snakes something that we could have for dinner for the two of us i sleep for like 20 more minutes and then i'll work all blocks don't feel like you have to do anything take care of yourself when you're out here you've just had your thoughts [Music] this challenge gets so many people because those thoughts start to drive you insane your mind just goes in a million different directions out here and no matter what you try to do you can't stop it you can't stop the thought very tired i feel weakness [Laughter] [Music] [Music] melissa melissa is gone she's been gone for a while now and i have no idea where she is [Music] she left her bag strange that is weird does she ever leave without it no definitely not [Music] melissa melissa we have over a dozen people out looking for her and no one's been able to find her yet [Applause] after two hours of searching for melissa with no success the producers call in local search and rescue units we've been combing this place i've been helping as much as i can and there was a woman recently eaten by a gator not far from here and you really start wondering if this is gonna be a missing person's thing or if we are looking for a body [Applause] three and a half miles away the rescue team has found melissa who appears to be unharmed she's taken to the medic tent to have her condition assessed [Applause] it's okay [Music] i'm glad you're okay [Music] i started going through the woods there cut across and i was trying to come back and i i was going the opposite direction i just was going going and i was like holy i've been walking for like three miles at least and i just got turned around i'm glad you're back [Music] i'm gonna head up to go look for food don't worry i won't venture too far all right try to avoid being eaten these challenges mean everything to me they are who i am i'm here to fight this to the end i'm gonna go start getting firewood [Music] i just found this snake oh okay paul it's a nice-sized steak oh that'll be a good meal oh [Music] i saw this nice-sized snake oh holy smokes look at that oh my god it's fantastic food i am feeling so grateful right now my stomach is so happy right now this has been our first full meal in days and i feel like i can conquer anything right now i've been waiting three weeks for today i am so eager to get out there's a small part of me that is going to miss some of the beauty that is in the swamp are you ready let's do this yeah but about 99 of me just wants to get the hell away this could have been completely dry the other day this all just kind of blends together it's crazy [Music] it's terrain it's just insane every step i take it's like something cutting into me okay i stepped right on one of those shoots [Music] it's getting different i am really scared that it's only gonna get deeper let's just go knock it out this better be leading to a river it looks like it's flowing ahead of us here that's what we want that looks like actual river oh my god this is this has gotta be it this is definitely a river [Music] [Applause] let's go right this hands down was the most difficult environment that i have had to survive it definitely pushed me mentally more than any of the other challenges have 40 days in south africa was not as mentally trying as 21 days here in the swamps goodbye swamp once again i learned that i'm a complete bad getting lost out here was super devastating jake really helped me i honestly feel so blessed to have had him by my side melissa getting lost was definitely one of the scariest moments of my life but i lucked out i truly got an all-star with melissa as my partner it's been a week since i returned from the swamps i have put on close to 30 pounds and i can't stop eating i'm happy to be home i just hope i can stop eating fairly soon because it's getting out of control [Music] you
