known and good spots in Kyoto but still there are many unknown but good
spots in Kyoto. So let's go together. Number 1 Shirakawa Lane

wooden buildings and some buildings are important cultural property, so please check it out! Walking
through shirakawa Lane, you can encounter tatsumi Bridge. Around Tatsumi Bridge, it is known
for good photo spot so please take memorable photo here. Sometimes you can encounter rickshaw

is in the description so please check it! Anyway I want you to feel exotic Kyoto mood and take
memorable photos. I hope it will be sunny day. Number 2 Machiya Starbucks
Machiya Starbucks is located in Central Kyoto Area. It's near well-known
Temple Kiyomizu Temple and it takes 20 minutes from Kyoto station and it's the
appearance of Starbucks. Of course it's not normal Starbucks and you may pass
this Starbucks. At first let's dive in! Inside of the Starbucks you may feel Japanese
good move but the menu is same in the second floor. There are many seats normal seats
and Japanese tatami seats. You can enjoy Starbucks coffee or tea with exotic mood. It's
usually crowded so early visit is recommended. Number 3 Keage Incline
Keage incline is located in Northeast area. It takes for 30 minutes
from Kyoto station. You can see train rail. Until 1948 this rail had been used for
carrying the ships. The rail is 582 M and now well known walking road for locals
and tourists. Especially spring season you can walk under the Sakura Cherry blossom.
Let's walk for a while. Yes as you can see Keage Incline is well known Sakura
place, so spring visit is recommended. There are so many temples and shrines
in Kyoto, so we tend to go around only shrines and temples during Kyoto
travel. So you can feel fresh I think. Anyway the road is unpaved so wearing
comfortable shoes is recommended! Number 4 Tenryu Temple
Tenryu Temple is located at Arashiyama area. It takes 2 minutes from
Arashiyama station and 30 to 40 minutes from Kyoto station. This Temple is world heritage and
known for solemn garden named Sogenchi garden. There are two entrances and when you enter Central
entrance, you can encounter this Garden at first. Look it's very solemn, magnificent view isn't
it? You can enjoy nice but something quiet, solemn Garden here. There are wooden benches so
you can sit down to enjoy this Garden. Moving further inside, there are another big Garden named
Hyakka Garden. Hyakka means 100 flowers, so you can enjoy colorful and exotic Kyoto Garden here.

five storied Tower is a symbol of Toji Temple. The height is about 55 M and this is the tallest
wooden Tower in Japan. Usually you can't enter the tower but sometimes you can enter inside.
Please check the website about the information. And illuminated Sakura or red leaves are
second attractive points. Yes look at this illuminated Sakura with Tower and Hall. It's
very magnificent isn't it? Sakura season is spring and red leaves are Autumn so if you
plan to visit these seasons, please check it! Anyway solemn Tower and illuminated
Sakura and red leaves very photogenic!! Number 6 Kyoto Ramen Sugari
At first the appearance of sugari is here. It's like Japanese old house and through inside
you can encounter Japanese small garden, so before having ramen you can enjoy Japanese good mood.
You can enjoy even while waiting. Of course ramen is very good. It's fish based soup and creamy and
thick. My recommendation is beef intestine ramen. It's very well known so please try it and Sugari

here to have good ramen with Japanese good mood! Number 7 Chion In
Chion In is located in Gion area. It takes for 20 to 30 minutes from Kyoto station.
It's adjacent to Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama park, so it's very easy to access. At first you can
encounter big gate. Actually now this gate is the biggest wooden gate in Japan. You'll be
overwhelmed I think. After entering this gate, yes steep slop, but don't worry! You can climb up
here, a more gentle slope. After going up stopes, you can see solemn garden. Actually Chion In
was constructed about 400 years ago and at present you can see exotic halls here and there.
There are many attractive points and among them Big Bell is my recommendation. On the New Year's
Eve this bell gets special duty of being rung 108 times. It's Japanese culture and through
this process we can wash out earthly desires which are 108 different sins and worries.
Usually you can see solemn Big Bell here. Anyway easy access, big wooden gate
and big Bell so highly recommended! Number 8 Togetsu Kyo bridge
Togetsu Kyo bridge is located in Arashiyama area, Northwest area. It takes for

Bridge is my recommendation. Actually many people come here to take memorable photos. And from
this bridge you can feel Japanese 4 seasons. I came here in April, spring season. You can
see fresh greens and Sakura here and there. You can enjoy fresh green in summer,
red leaves in Autumn and snow in winter, so every season is recommended. Around Togetsu
Kyo Bridge. there are River bed and some food shops. So you can take out the food and
eat with good Arashiyama view as picnic! Anyway it's very very crowded with
tourists so early visit is recommended! number 9 Yasaka Shrine
