So we just checked-in in our Japanese traditional house, a machiya here in Kyoto and it looks really, really fantastic to be honest. High to the ceiling, very high to the ceiling, the rooms up there. A lovely kitchen area as you can see. Of course, the essential. Here we go, we have this open space, a nice little garden view. Very nice. Of course, the bathroom an additional bathroom that leads out to an open-air bath. It's a little dark. There you go. Really nice. So before this little house tour ends, let's just go upstairs and check out the bedroom. Some sinks out here, okay. Oh, the bedroom. One of each. And down below is the living room. There's another room over there. There you go. And there she is. I can never get enough of this. I don't care what anyone says that there's better ramen places than Ichiran, probably is but still. Ichiran is like my first love right it's my first real ramen, when I got here in Japan with my brother way back in 2018 I believe. Way back. So Ichiran will always have that special, special place in my heart. This just hits the spot for me. It is true, you have to tie it up now. It's very bad fortune. She just got a curse and she needs to tie it up. Tie it up. This is bad. Very bad. All right, right now we're at Kodai-ji, just one of many temples in Kyoto. But tonight, especially, it's the last night where they have the night illumination, which is something that a lot of shrines and temples in Kyoto do during the autumn and sort of early winter season. And it gets to sort of showcase the beauty and the autumn foliage of the place during nighttime. And I definitely recommend visiting one of these temples if you've got the time or energy to do so. So we just waited for like, I don't know, half an hour, good half an hour, 40 minutes to just get like these nice, nice shots of the Hokanji pagoda or temple. Yeah, just got to wait, wait, wait, wait for quite a while. And then you'll get this golden opportunity where it's completely empty. But yeah, I think it's worth it. And now we need to find some dinner, Great to be back here in Kyoto. And got a day more of exploring until we head back to Tokyo. All right, so we are heading for a day trip to Hiroshima. First time going to Hiroshima. So yeah, looking forward to visit the Miyajima Island, the shrine, let's go. We're on the Miyajima Island. Just came here via the ferry. Quick little, I think 10, 15 minutes ride. It's really short. Lots of people here during the weekend, so fully expected. It's gonna be a bit busy. If you come here during the weekday. Maybe it's a bit less busy, but if you come here early, you should be fine. All right, so that was our stay in our machiya here in Kyoto. here at the Ieno House. It's a very beautiful house a very comfortable stay. Really loved the open-air bath, and also just the blend between sort of the modern facilities and sort of the old sort of traditional parts of the house, with the wooden beams on the ceilings. It just blends in really well. It was a very, very comfortable stay, and I definitely recommend it to you guys. If you want to stay in a machiya here in Kyoto. There's plenty of others. So it doesn't have to be this specific house but I'd highly recommend booking a machiya house, if you plan to stay in Kyoto in the future. We're on the Katsura river here in Arashiyama. A very, very tiny, not that deep boat. As you can see, I'm in like a pose here. It's 1,800 yen for an hour. A little bit pricey, not that bad, but there's still some koya leaves left. There's some autumn leaves, foliage still, but a lot of the leaves have definitely fallen off. There's still a bit of color here. It's nice to be on the river. And of course, if you notice anything, it's me that's doing all the rowing. Not Lisa, but such is life, you know. Happy wife. Happy life, isn't that what they're saying? It's good. It's not too much. So we just had some amazing ramen here at this little spot here I'll list the name Lisa had the ramen, she liked it. I tried the tsukemen, where you get like a very thick broth, where you sort of dip the noodles in. I'm quite surprised about the amount of flavor that there is in that broth. But I guess it makes sense with the purpose of like being a dipping kind of sauce. If you're looking to try tsukemen here in Kyoto, I think this is a pretty good place to start All right, so that wrapped up our final day here in Kyoto. And now we're heading to Tokyo. Going to be packed with activities. So let's go.
