✔ Minecraft 1.13 Update - 15 Features That Were Added

so Mojang have released a new snapshot for the minecraft 1.13 aquatic update adding features such as new mobs new weapons and new underwater features and much much more so here I am today to show you guys a load of things that have been added so what's going on guys my name is Anthony and today I'm going to be bringing you guys 15 features that have been added in the new minecraft 1.13 update so if you guys do enjoy today's video then be sure to give this video a like rating but anyways enough of me rambling let's go ahead and get straight into today's video about the new 1.13 update I hope you guys enjoy it the first feature we have on our list that's been introduced in 1.13 is the new turtle mob so the turtle looks like this and they spawn naturally on sandy beaches you are able to tame them by using seagrass which will result in them laying eggs which will hatch on their own now it's important to note however that these eggs can be trampled on and destroyed by zombies so be sure to make it your mission to protect these eggs are all costs because those zombies will destroy those eggs now the next feature we have on our list that's been added to 1.13 is the addition of the baby turtle variant of the normal turtle and these turtles hatch from eggs now over time baby turtles will hatch from these eggs and once they grow up they will drop pieces of their shells when you collect enough of these shell pieces you can craft them into a full shell which you can actually wear on your head and receive a water affinity without the need to enchant super-useful if you ask me by the way guys can we just take a second to appreciate how cute these baby turtles look man the next feature that's been added to the 1.13 aquatic update is the addition of the new swimming animation which looks really cool as you can see on screen so before the 1.13 update when the player was in the water they would just awkwardly bob up and down and honestly it would just take a super long time to travel across water but as you guys saw before in 1.13 Mojang have implemented a new swimming animation as you can see and honestly it looks a lot more realistic you are actually swimming in the water and you swim a lot faster as well just looking here the next feature on the list is another new mob has been added and they are called phantoms now phantoms are the brand-new hostile mob that were voted at Minecon Earth by the community and they were originally known as the monster of the night skies now the new scary-looking phantom mob can spawn in the overworld and the end and they will attack players who haven't slept in their bed for many days in Minecraft multiple phantoms will actually swarm the player in small groups and will drop leather upon death if you kill them however this may change now I think this mob is a great addition because it makes the bed a lot more useful as players will be more encouraged to sleep to prevent being attacked by the dreaded phantom oh my god guys there is a brand new weapon in Minecraft that's right a brand new weapon has been added in this update and it is called the Trident and it is currently only available in the creative inventory you cannot get it in survival at the moment guys now this weapon is really cool because it has two abilities first of all you can left-click it and use it as a melee attack for mobs or you can right-click with it to throw it at mobs like a spear now Mojang have actually mentioned that this weapon is currently quite overpowered so it's definitely set to be changed in a future update so use this weapon while you can guys if you want an overpowered weapon there are also four enchantments that work with the Trident one being the loyalty in Sharman which is a new enchantment that will assure your Trident will return to you when you throw it so yeah if you right-click for the Trident and throw it it will actually return to you if you're using the loyalty enchantment pretty cool right the next feature on the list is all to do with the squid so in this update a change has been made to squid so that they can finally shoot ink out into the water as a defense mechanism when they are attacked which is similar to how squids behave in real life I feel this feature should have been added on long time ago as it's much more realistic and it would have made squids a lot more interesting as well so yeah it's definitely a welcomed addition to this update another awesome addition to 1.13 are the new underwater plans to add some life into the ocean now in this snapshot they have added Kalpa plants first of all and they look like this very cool indeed burn not only that in this update they have also added sea grass to generate underwater and it looks like this and I have to be honest I'm just so happy Mojang are finally adding some life into the ocean to enhance the underwater experience another thing to know about the underwater plants is that you can actually collect the kelp plants and use them for multiple different things first of all you can eat them as a source of food so if you need to you know Virginia hunger and you're underwater then just collect some kelp kelp can also be smelted in a furnace to create dried kelp and in a later snapshot you will be able to craft a dried kelp block which can be used to cook all smell items in a furnace so yeah the dry kelp block they've added is another furnace fuel that you guys can use the next feature we have on our list that builders are going to love is the addition of two brand new log types now these new log types are bark logs and stripped logs firstly we'll start with the bark log now it's pretty much just a normal log but it has a bark texture on every side as you can see on screen now fun facts these bark logs were actually left unused in the game for many years but yeah they have finally been introduced into the 1.13 update the other new log type I mentioned is stripped logs now there is a stripped log variant of every regular log in Minecraft and they all look like this as you can see on screen they look really cool in my opinion now to obtain a stripped log you just simply right-click on a regular log with an axe and you will see that it will turn into a stripped log now I feel builders are going to love this blog because the textures connect very well with each other but yeah moving on another change that's been made in 1.13 that I think a lot of people have been anticipating for quite some time is items floating to the surface when you drop them into water so if you were to drop items into the water or die in the water then your stuff would just simply float to the bottom of the ocean and if you were to retrieve it it would be really hard to see because seeing at the bottom of the ocean is quite difficult so what Mojang decided to do was make it a lot easier to retrieve those items you accidentally lose in the bottom of the deep ocean which is pretty cool to be honest because you could drop some items in the water and they'll just float to the top the next feature on the list is the addition of bottle columns now the mechanic for bubble columns is the act of dragging the player under water when they come into contact with the bubbles as you can see on screen now this feature has have been added to naturally generate yet but you can create it yourself if you place down a magma block under water so yeah when you guys are swimming in the water just be careful you don't come into contact with these bubbles because they can drag you underwater and you could potentially drown okay guys I am really excited about this next feature because finally finally they have added stair and slab variants of prismarine blocks now this includes stairs and slabs for all the different types of prismarine such as the normal prismarine as you can see prismarine bricks as you can see and finally dark prismarine as you can see honestly it will be awesome to see what people can build with these new blocks because you know stairs and slabs are a great addition to help builders you know with their builds it's trivia time this is the part of the video where you guys that show me your Minecraft knowledge by me asking you a random minecraft that question ladders used to be crafted by using wooden planks true or false but anyways that just about concludes
