all right bam today is wednesday it is october 13th welcome to the dog walk presented by bar stool sports special guest today from zimbabwe we have za what an honor eddie i'm a big fan of this show chief and i i think we've referenced this story multiple times yeah so the story is you've seen aliens i know i know that that like if you read the title like i'm sure that people already know but i know that this story is out there you know going back to like gentleman's friday things i'm like i know i don't want to know i don't want to know because i knew this day would come and i want to go with fresh eyes and ears and get it for the first time so i don't really know anything i'm very excited for this there we go yep same i avoided it as well so uh and if you don't know zaza what do you do exactly so so i'm a uh sorry to cut you off but uh been with barstow for what it's now almost five years i believe four or five years 2017. so that's four years uh i do uh i cover soccer now i aliens yes sir so i'm going to start this off by just mentioning that there's a lot there's a lot of content out there regarding this this one particular event i mean the most the biggest thing right now is this is the documentary on netflix the phenomenon so if you want a little supplement to to this you can go check that out there's interviews on youtube and all but he's establishing credibility here yeah because yeah because here's the thing right yeah so i it's we our culture isn't really obsessed with it with this alien stuff so each time i've met someone new and mentioned it i've had to tell this is one of the stories that i i tell each and every each and every single time because people are so intrigued because when you say your culture you're from from from zimbabwe sorry sorry from zimbabwe so we're very we're very superstitious culture so stuff like that is like yo you don't really [ __ ] with that kind of stuff so was only when i really came here of course i mean i told it as as a kid you know meeting new people and all that but it was only when i came here where the interest in the actual story was like yo people are going crazy i mean people are obsessed with aliens that's weird yeah did you know superstition witchcraft well i i've heard about that but i just i kind of assumed that humans everywhere because you're curious look up at the sky and be like what the [ __ ] is up there so the curiosity is there you look up in the sky but you don't really [ __ ] with it so you watch and see what's going on because something like that was just like that's a that's a crazy ass event that that took place you don't see [ __ ] like that so you we went and watched it and all but it's like whoa all this is like the superstitious the the african gods gonna come down and and curse my family type of [ __ ] so it's thing so anyway um i believe it was 1994 1994 a small town in a small town in zimbabwe uh named rua so so i went to aerial school small town in zimbabwe and how old is it i was five five years old so it's uh it's so ariel is nursery school so it's like your equivalent of of kindergarten or pre-k whatever you call it nursery school up until up until elementary school small farming town community so kids you know it's you started like threes then when kindergarten yeah that's like preschool there you go so from like three to twelve is is what's it called so it was a it was a school it was a i think it was in the fall or something i can't remember exactly the time of the year but afternoon break have you ever watched uh have you ever watched harry potter yes you guys know what prefixes yep i don't i went to prep school we had prefects boom there you go so in the equivalent and the equivalent of your i guess for lack of better terms of your senior year of elementary school so the 12 year olds within that group they identify kids that show promise for leadership and all that and like give them extra responsibilities and all they're like a um like a almost like a go between like a liaison to like the faculty in a way that's exactly what they are so there they are they are like the faculty's eyes when the faculty can't watch so do you during recess during recess so break time is when the teachers have time outside of their classrooms together at the same time so they can have their staff meetings then so they usually have their staff meetings during like recess and they leave the prefix like supervised they supervise the kids during the you know the playing cricket playing touch rugby that type of stuff they're the eyes on the ground so it was recess uh and just all of a sudden that all the teachers all the teachers were like in a teacher's meeting all of a sudden this bright [ __ ] thing just appears in the sky right and also i want to preface i want to preface by saying honestly i don't even remember the actual physically remember the actual event but what's happened is each time i've met someone new i've had to tell the story so now it's more i i've memorized the story and the memory has pretty much completely faded that was 1990 what were 2021. that's interesting that was 1994. so it's more memorizing the story yeah than actually recalling the actual event because i was a kid at the time and really didn't know what was going on so it really faded away kind of thing so the prefects were watching us [ __ ] thing just appears very very very bright it's a farming area it's a farming town so outside of our fences it's just plain farmlands so you can just see you can see [ __ ] just miles and miles you know there's crops or whatever it's just open kind of just flat yeah you can even look it up on like google maps and stuff so ariel is a r i e l school in rua look it up on google maps you'll see the area is all like it's all like thingy so we just see this thing coming out of the sky all the kids just run towards the fence to go check this out because i mean you're young you're curious you're like what the [ __ ] is going on you've never actually seen anything like this bright saucepan thing falls falls comes comes to the ground little men pop out bright as [ __ ] so while all this is going on one of the you know a couple of the kids the smaller kids were like yo what the [ __ ] is going on let's go tell the teachers so they ran in to go interrupt to go interrupt the staff meeting and say yo something weird is going on outside so teachers i mean if a six-year-old seven-year-old comes into you and be like yo something weird is going on you're probably just gonna be like yo give me two minutes let me finish off what i'm doing and go attention that's what happened so they they kind of just brushed it off kind of deal another kid came in and they were like yo something really is going on and then apparently a prefix so it was like when the third kid came in when three kids come in and one of the prefix comes in and says that something really weird is going on then something really weird is going on so a teacher came out at that particular time and was able to actually see the thing as it was leaving kind of deal and that's what that's what sort of that's what validated for lack of a better term that's what validated so it wasn't just a bunch of children it wasn't a bunch so it was a lot of people that saw it it wasn't just a bunch of people that's what validated and they're like holy [ __ ] something did go on kind of deal do you have any like concept of how much time had elapsed from the landing to be honest to be honest that's not all a blur okay that's now all it wasn't so so it wasn't that long it wasn't that long that's for sure it wasn't like sitting there no no no because the break time itself if i remember correctly there were they were like less than 30 minutes okay so the break time it wasn't that long at all okay it's i the time conception i'm not too too too sure so what happens then it's so what happens then now right is other people in like the surrounding farms and farm workers everyone in that area saw that bright thing and it just became a buzz it became a buzz then from then from then on i don't know what happened how it all happens like within that week next thing you know this is a small town like i believe our school at the time only had like 60. you can look it up there was like 60 kids 50 kids next thing you know we got the bbc coming in so this is this is little little za little za over here that you know who who knows nothing at the time well barely just just learned how to speak english kind of deal young kid next thing you next thing you know you're hearing bbc is coming in uh [ __ ] these the local news came in and then researchers so like phds from like harvard you know the the aliens guys whatever you call them these guys that study yeah yeah study the aliens guys from big time schools come in and then what they did is they ran the experiment that kind of really you know confirmed this to the world and be like yo this is [ __ ] this this [ __ ] actually did kind of happen what they did was they took all the kids that were there right they took all of us at the time they completely isolated us completely isolated us and i think we have the we have the images on screen right now what they did is they asked each and every kid in isolation to draw what they saw that particular day wow right and listen if you're watching this on the youtube this will be plugged into the video so uh you'll be able to see what we're seeing so they were we were asked to draw what we saw on that particular day and even if you go back if you go back on that youtube images pages you can see that there's multiple they're showing one right now but there's multiple pictures different pictures and all that so they we were asked to draw what we saw on that day they collected all the pictures and long behold they were all identical huh right so they were like holy [ __ ] yeah they were like holy [ __ ] so we have an incident there and then that's more researchers came in and all next thing you know the documentaries coming out we now have netflix movies coming out making so this netflix movie is going to be highlighting this interaction it's it's about it's it's uh so i haven't seen it personally myself yeah and also and also it's one of those things where i i don't really like i mean i mean i'll do it for the dog walk of course because eddie eddie is my guy and i'll do it for any any one of the barstool podcasts and all that because those are my guys but i don't like telling the story because you know it's it's you're asked people ask me to tell it yeah then i say then i start getting abused back kind of deal so i'm just like you know what we're waiting i'm just going to no no that's not i mean it's fine kind of i'm just saying just in general like listen there are a lot of people in this company where if they're like hey i saw aliens i'd be like yeah no i didn't sure and i'd be like i'd be like kind of poking them and make fun of this you're not one of those yeah and i don't really i don't really care if you believe me or not i don't care so you can watch you can watch it the people people seem to like to believe netflix better but i don't care if you believe me or not really don't care kind of deal but it's it was a it was something man it's this is another question that might be like fuzzy or maybe maybe it's just in the research now too but how far from the fence did this thing land it was so it was the immediate fields uh i would say the soccer field probably yeah it could be less it was it was very very because the soccer field's like 100 yards yeah yeah and it's it was so they were clearly visible they were clearly invisible and they were they were small they were they were small they were clearly visible so the actual distance itself i don't know if they did it on the movie and they they have the research they probably did the proper research and all that i i'm not too sure about that but the distance they were clearly though now you also said earlier that like the the whole alien obsession is not really yeah so which which is what i was i was surprised when i came here because it's commercialized look at this you go back you go back to aliens are commercialized big time you go back to movies like like like e.t alien itself and all that and because of our cultures it's it's super you know it's superstitious and all so it was it was when i came when i moved over here when i realized that yeah holy [ __ ] this is big so i guess what what year did you move you came up for a couple of years for college 2010 okay so i guess my question was going to be like when we had that image up of like the saucer and the the alien um it looks like the images that were drawn look kind of what's in popular culture yeah you know so i i guess my question would be like if i'm poking holes this is not abuse it's a whole no no no no this is that's so i know exactly where you're going because yeah like so is that like something that you like people in zimbabwe were aware of what like what western people thought of my response to you is is 60 60 or 60 something there's multiple images 60 or 60 something kids held in isolation yeah true drew the same thing it's kids held in isolation drew the same and it's also it's also at a time too where where the country really wasn't as modernized as modernized and you know as uh how do you say it keeping up with like yeah american culture stuff like that so if like for example i was a big wrestling fan coming up i would watch the summerslam will be shown on tv three weeks after it was broadcasted live okay so you know we were a culture that was behind okay because that does look like that like the little green men that like with the big eyes and like the saucer where it's like hmm like this isn't so i i i i'm not too sure there we go so there's there's more pictures there multiple and stuff like that so i'm not too sure about other events but i'm pretty sure this this isn't the first time that yeah people have seen or felt seen something weird or whatever so i'm guessing like that just makes me think that this is super real because maybe maybe it is just like one you know when they have roswell they look like that and then they if you look like i love ancient aliens yeah history channel show a lot of times like even like the old like depictions were like like it's been dismissed like it's something else it's not that they all kind of look like that so it makes me wonder if like if it's the same aliens coming like because the universe is so big there might be aliens from all sorts of different places but going i mean it was the the one thing that i really do remember because at the time i don't think any any one of the kids any one of the actual small kids knew exactly realized what they saw what what what really popped off was when like the t like that was the first time i'd ever seen a tv camera with like the big lights and something like that kind of deal now what about the uh the outside farmers and like the uh the ras like you said no they have like better stories and ideas of this the locals uh i i assume so they focused they focused on our school for these documents i'm not sure on the actual on the actual like phenomenon and stuff because i haven't seen it if they were able to speak to any of the locals who were around at the time and they were there but they focused on our school because that was the one spot where the majority of the people there was i mean there was like like 50 people that saw it from there so they came to the school and it's easy access there but i'm sure i'm sure like the movies have gone i've gone to go speak to speak to like the locals that were there yeah i know they have an interview with uh without headmaster uh the the the principal yeah principal and and a bunch of kids and masters too and stuff like that yeah private school this guy this guy now was the headmaster he so he vouched for it as well yes so they interviewed a lot of people they found they interviewed a lot of it's it's all out there on the thing it's just i i myself really have zero interest in it yeah so i haven't really watched or looked into it or whatever so you do you mainly because of superstition at all yeah okay do you know if there's been other sightings in the area since then or is it oh no just at one time no not that i don't know okay this is this is actually this is only this only alien sighting i personally personally myself i've read of and know i mean i see them would come on yeah but i i forget about it kind of deal do you think that's part of the reason why you can't remember anything because they met and blacked your ass i so i did i do remember we i mean you do remember i do remember doing it but the time there's so much time oh for sure it's like you know i started you started smoking weed that that kills you that kills your memory you start drinking and then you know you have other things on your mind and all and you're not really you got to bury the pain one of that stuff gets lost and the good stuff gets lost when you're burying all the other [ __ ] what i what i do what i do tell everybody though is and and i i would have it better i mean make sense i would have a way better appreciation of what happened if that happened today when i'm a little older than at the time at the time it actually happened because today it's it's like all right you you understand life you're like holy [ __ ] this is yeah this is i gotta watch this documentary now because like the thing that made my ears perk up is when you're like yeah these all these scientists came in these phds from harvard yeah like what kind of tests like what's an alien test yeah you know draw draw what you see draw what you see oh okay like i was picturing like they were taking like readings it was it was so it was just it was just give personal accounts okay so they came to get personal accounts well from from uh from from us and the the youtube stuff that i've seen i don't know if they ran any other [ __ ] zinc zinc oxide detective an alien farted here or something some [ __ ] like i'm not too sure on that uh interesting do you uh do you still talk to any of your your classmates or anything yeah they're still still in touch and do they still kind of have hazy memories they they so the ones that have gone to foreign lands and all are in the same same situation as i yeah the same situation as i am really where you where you're saying uh you tell what you saw do you have like what you saw like a group chat because you believe these [ __ ] americans all they have to do is talk about not really we're talking about our as i said it happened with what young kids yeah not interested at all we're fighting about what whether arsenal's going to win the next game or or to what's it called because i don't know in other parts so like for example a lot of like my friends went to went to went to uh eastern parts to like the asian stuff and they they have on on those kind of things they have cultures that are similar similar to us so so you know they don't they they weren't really put through the ringer like like i am where here where everything is uh everything is commercialized everything's yeah and if you could really like rack your brain was it more of the ship or that i can't i can't wreck my oh well i mean the first sighting was the bright light for bright light falling from it's the whole thing it's a bright light falling from the sky yeah wow it's it's it's it had no color was just a bright light eddie it's i i i hate to say this because it's like this i don't know it sounds so basic or whatever yeah it was it was like something that you had never seen seen before literally that's literally that's literally it's absurd because you expect you expect to see clouds cloud sky sun whatever or snow falling rain then all of a sudden you have this bright [ __ ] thing that's just falling yeah it's like it's it's probably i mean i can equate it to fast fall i have to remember i could equate it to have you have you guys ever had us but i don't even think it's that crazy have you guys ever had a that walk crazy enough have you guys ever had like a solar eclipse have you seen a full solar eclipse yeah that comes like once it's so it's it's like in that ballpark or even higher or whatever but it's it's absurdity yeah kind of deal so and because of that the fact that it was so absurd which is why i go back to that point i would have preferred ideally would have appreciated it a whole lot more if i was if that happened when i was a bit older yeah i mean even if you were like nine yeah you think about how much clearly you're my bro at that time yeah development development happens because i actually do kind of remember like rugby games the first rugby games that i played from from you know it's like [ __ ] insane to me about this whole interaction like it's like yeah i saw anything i don't give a [ __ ] like what i feel like if that is like if i were five and like something mysterious came down from the sky and i saw these little guys and everybody was talking to me my life would be dedicated to analysis it was but it's it it's just it's been a long time i know i know so it's just what they said one thing where it happens then the older you get the more the memory fades yeah then you know you're no i just no one really was talking about it being like declassified if i was so if i was here if that had happened and i was here i moved here immediately when i was five because of the culture here because of how i've been getting you know we've been getting squeezed been getting hustled been having to say this and and tell the story here then i think i would have been in a better spot than i am yeah i am right now i kind of want to do an episode of this just about zimbabwe you had the uh you had the the socks hanging on the stream but what a miss by me to not talk animals for the draft on monday oh you know you could have got super into all that so as much as i love that's another that's another program that i love and i watch i watch a majority of like the place isn't even fenced off it's it hasn't been created into like a museum we haven't taken advan yeah we haven't taken advantage of it at all it's still [ __ ] farm lands that get tilled by the same guys that have been there for like 45 nah bro you build a museum you help out the community i i suppose but like the fact that they're with how big they're making look at how much that that that netflix movie oh yeah what's it called that thing probably set records on like netflix and my man my man who who's right next to the place where it actually happened hasn't seen a dime where do they grow this is getting into some zimbabwe like what what are the farmers growing up was mainly actually i don't even know that was that was more so it's not it was it was more uh it wasn't the big commercial farming was more substantial farming is what you call it so it's local subsistence subsistence farming there we go so i think they had like corn okay so the the usual the usual stuff it's not like the majority it's not like about tobacco they might have been tobacco in the area interesting actually it was a big tobacco farm this is a wikipedia page yeah yeah that's what i'm saying so that's why i say i mean i tell the story and i just i just reference reference that and all it's just it was a big deal eddie that's it was the first time that was the first time i'd seen that's the first that was actually that was the first time i'd ever heard an american accent in my life clinton's in this doc did you know that no how did like i watched [ __ ] wait hold on why is he in it well he was present at the time it would have happened true well that might maybe they show clips of them because i'm on the imdb and it says because he's on the cast they interview like the secretary of defense yeah the chief of staff podesta's on there oh well really podesta is a big alien guy yeah yeah well well when they had that document like might have been camera what it was but like podesta is on all these different emails talking to people about aliens and like we've talked about this on this show before about how they they like podesta like references just communications they have with them yeah so who the [ __ ] knows what's going on that's it's crazy man yes but i'm i'm so sad that there's no museum no nothing sounds like if you go this is for you bro next time next time you come
