Z Fold 5 vs S24 Ultra: Which Is Right For You?!

[Music] zold 5 or the s24 ultra like which one should you consider buying and you might think this is a far-fetched question but $12.99 you can get this oh sorry $12.99 and you can get the zold 5 currently for $14.99 on Best Buy or at Amazon so we're talking a 200 $100 price difference that's not a very wide Gulf this is not like $17.99 for the zold 5 and it was $1.99 for the s23 ultra $200 separates these two phones from each other and there are some things like when you take a look at them on paper there's not a whole lot that's that big of a deal because you have the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 in the zold 5 you also have s pin support which you can get with the case you've got a decent 50 megapixel camera but but the big thing is of course you get the front screen experience taada and then you get of course the interior screen experience so it's like having a tablet and a phone allinone with a stylus if you go ahead and buy that accessory case which is like 40 bucks now it's not that expensive don't quote me on the exact price I looked at it the other day it's not that much so the zold 5 good phone but a lot of criticism when it comes to this phone because people didn't feel like it did enough like it shaved off a couple grams made things a little flatter Di to crease a little bit but by and large they didn't really change a whole lot about the phone other than throwing the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 of course it fix the battery problems all that stuff it's a good all day phone and it's great because you can do the tablet or the phone and I like that I like that a lot but I've been forced to use the Z the s24 ultra the last couple of weeks why cuz I ended up losing my SP pen I don't know I fell asleep the dog ate it fell off I I don't know I have no clue what happened to it but uh as you guys and GS know for watching my videos traditionally I use the zold 5 it's replaced all my tablet usage and TAA it's like having a tablet on the go I make all my thumbnails on here it's so nice it's convenient it's easy and it's like great I love having foldable phones but I was forced to use the s24 ultra a lot more because of course uh it has the s pin on the inside of it so this is having like one big screen as opposed to one medium screen all the time so you have one big screen all the time or you can get one medium screen and one extra large screen so we'll use this in like terminology of drink so think of it like Sonic like this is the medium screen this is the large screen and then this is the Route 44 so it really depends on what you're going for cuz I I think there's these two phones have distinct audiences it's either you want the tablet life or you want just the big screen life and also you get better cameras here now the zold 5 I think takes fantastic photo photos I think the 50 megapixel camera that they use in the zold 5 that they use in the zold 4 that they use in the s23 they used in the s24 is good I I think that for what you're paying they need to give us a new one but for what you get and the AI stuff it's a pretty good camera I've been really impressed with the camera on the zold 5 that's something that was kind of lacking compared to the Ultra Series phones but it does take very capable photos so it's kind of depends on what you're going for if you want big battery big screen of course it's brighter and then you get the S Pen that comes with it that's more functional see the S Pen on the zold 5 is dumb like it's a dumb S Pen it doesn't do anything other than just work as a riding utensil and and a stylus it doesn't have all the extra gestures but you can buy the S Pen Pro which will give you those but it's like a 100 bucks I'm sure you can get one cheaper now check eBay Amazon whatever uh and it will give you that functionality I don't really use the air gestures I feel like Harry Potter doing like a a magic wand thing if I ever use the air gestures mostly what's important to me with the S Pen on the zold 5 is that you can use the button on it as a remote shutter you can activate the camera you can change between the front video cam or the front camera and the back camera or you can have it switch from video to camera it's basically like you can set it up step away like 20t 15t 10t press it and activate it it's like your own correspondent you can record yourself and that's something that's really nice if you're into multimedia content creation creating videos the s24 ultra is probably for you especially with the 200 megapixel camera and they added new things seven years of support you got the titanium you got the flat screen you got all those things so I think there's a lot of nice things going for the zold 5 but some people like the some people have been waiting some people have been on the fence and they've been waiting and watching thinking okay should I finally invest in a folable phone and maybe this is a good time and of course I mean I saw the other day they had the zold 4 refurbished on eBay for like $5.99 which is a good deal last year I bought the zold 3 for my aunt and got it for it for Christmas and paid like $450 for it so these phones don't really retain their value very well so seeing it at $14.99 brand new and then you can of course trade stuff in because Amazon you know Best Buy whatever they allow you to trade certain phones in it could work out really well in your favor if you're interested but the thing is is ultimately you're trying to decide like which one of these should you do this one gets you all day battery this one gets you all day battery you have plenty of process ing power Snapdragon 8 Generation 3 Snapdragon 8 generation 2 we don't really have word uh I know we're going to get AI features on the zold it's inevitable it's coming for the s23 ultra in a couple of months it should debut in a very similar Fashion on the zold 5 so we're looking at still getting AI features as far as I know Snapdragon 8 generation 2 comes with 256 GB base RAM storage that's for both of these both start at 256 both have 12 gigs of RAM you as far as power and performance and capability you're pretty much equal in most areas so the really things you need to look at are which form factor do you want do you want something that okay you can use the front of the screen a lot on this but by and large you're going to be using it one-handed and then you want to open it up Samsung actually considers the inside screen the main screen the front screen is the secondary screen they want you to open it up and use this big landscape and I love it I I use my zold all the time like I've said for the last three years the zold is the best tablet the Samsung makes why because it's a tablet and it's a phone and you can use the SP pen it's like the best of all worlds because you can take it with you you anywhere because it's your phone and now it has good battery because it has a good pretty decent Siz battery but it also has a snap dragon 8 generation 2 so those two things together work really well so the ultimate and productivity form factor front screen inside screen S Pen good cameras good battery life and then you have the king of big screen all the time which is a big phone like the s24 ultra is a big phone and this is the Samsung official silicone case I have on here it adds a little bit of heft but I mean there's been some significant changes in certain areas that people have been looking forward to people have wanted a flat screen for a long time you've got the best in the world stylist the S Pen that you can get for this and then of course you got all the great bells and whistles Snapdragon 8 Generation 3 you already have some of the AI features that are on here so it really depends on what you're going for and that's my biggest thing do you want the best cameras do you want the best multimedia experience for creating content and do you want having a big screen all the time with a fully functional S Pen or do you want something that is kind of a little bit easier to use one-handed this way but you have the convertible tablet screen on the inside really if you're a tablet person I think this is probably the one that you would want to go for that's what I've gone for I don't even use my tab S9 like I mess around with it every once in a while I make some videos occasionally which you've seen I made like one or two videos since it's come out I used to be so big into tablets the S6 the S7 the S8 and then once I landed in zold territory I'm like I don't even use them anymore I even use my iPad I just use this all the time so when you think about the price if you were going to get a s23 Ultra s22 Ultra and then you're going to get a tablet on top of that you're going to spend more money than if you just got one of these and then this mic could work really really well for you and then it's like a one device one siiz fits-all approach which I like a lot like keep it simple stupid that's what they taught me in the military k i SS and I was like what does that mean and then like keep it simple stupid so not calling anyone stupid but it's like that's just kind of the acronym you less is more minimalism that's like the Army and the Air Force grunts version of minimalism like do what you can with the least amount that you need to to get the job done there you go and that's this and that's what I like about the zold 5 it's just like the Swiss army knife of phones and then you have the zold or the S I keep calling this zold the s24 ultra is like the Cadillac of Flagship phones it's like everything you expect the Androids version of the iPhone Pro Max Plus you get the space zoom on here like you get the super zoom 100 times Zoom the new five uh times telephoto camera the S Pen all sorts of great things so really when I look at these and I use both of them and I go back and forth and what I've learned and what I appreciated out of having both of these phones having the s23 ultra the zold 5 beforehand if you want the tablet and the phone go with the z-fold especially now that it's $14.99 and then if you just want one phone you don't care about the foldable experience you don't want to worry about the hinge you don't want to worry about the crease you don't want to worry about how to hold up over time this is tried and true it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper it's the latest and greatest and then it just offers some stuff in that department too so that's kind of my thought process when I look and I analyze both of these cuz they both get all day battery life now they both have great screen experiences albeit different they both have Spen but one has one's better than the other they one has a better camera than the other but what do you looking for in a device like what are you looking for do you want the one- siiz fits-all approach you want to quit using a tablet you want to have the ultimate multimedia portable like Entertainment station on the go where you can do work as well or the super Flagship and that's my thoughts on it so that's all I got I was just kind of thinking I'm like you know what I'll try and digest some of this into some thought and talk about it and that's what I think so if you're looking into either one of these phones there you have it s24 Ultra versus the ZF 5 and then the zold 6 is coming out this fall and they're going to change things up likely the things we've been seeing on the rumor mill changing the front screen making a little bit bigger maybe a little bit flatter hopefully putting an S Pen I don't know but this stff is all conjecture it's rumor and we got a long way to go it's not going to be here till like August and we're in what February that's a long way away and there are phones that
