various a620 b650 and x670 motherboards from the cheapest to the most expensive models and I will help you pick the right motherboard for your particular needs and processor let's start with the a620 cheaper version of it exists but it costs just 10 dollars less while being significantly more inferior in terms of features and limiting your CPU choices to just 365 watt ryzen 7000 non-x models do yourself a favor and just get the ASRock a620m hdvm.2 Plus instead it has a much better power design that supports most ryzen 7000 series CPUs with the exception of just two most power hungry ryzen 9 7900x and 7950x 170 wattp processes while other Horizon 7000 series CPUs will work fine on this motherboard the hdvm.2 plus features 6 USB ports one of which is Type C two gen 4 m.2 SSD slots and four as other Bluetooth devices directly to the PC it is worth noting that all a620 motherboards are limited to pcie 4 standard so you won't be able to take advantage of the latest Gen 5 m.2 and vme ssds that offer blazing fast speed but the vast majority of users don't need it Gen 4 is already fast enough to handle future games so you don't have to worry about your Gen 4 SSD becoming outdated anytime cinebench stress test in addition to that the b650m hdvm.2 is packed full of features including a 2.5 gigabit Lan 7 USB ports as well as the latest and greatest Gen 5 m.2 nvme SSD slot to accommodate the fastest ssds currently available on the market the second 1.2 SSD slot is Gen 4 which is still very fast and much more affordable so there are plenty of storage expansion options to satisfy the needs of an average user the only downside is that it doesn't come with Wi-Fi pre-installed but that is easily fixed because there is a special m.2 slot for a Wi-Fi module and the i o panel has holes b650m hdvm.2 the main differences are one additional USB port on the i o panel two more RAM slots for a total of 192 gigabytes of memory and a larger SSD hit sync which is useful for keeping that Gen 4 fssd cool and Performing well let's move on to the b650 extreme the b650 extreme is on a whole another level in terms of features unlike the a620 and b650 the b650 extreme comes with a pcie 5 slot ready for the next generation of graphics cards although importance of the pcie5 is questionable because pcie 4 slots are fully compatible with PCA 5 devices and have plenty of bandwidth to handle future generations of graphics cards for years to come that is unless the GPU makers will do something stupid like use 8 or even 4 Lanes instead of 16 on their future mid and high-end graphics cards well it is possible nothing indicates that it will happen in terms of storage expansion the cheaper b650 extreme motherboards usually offer one Gen 5 m.2 SSD slot one gen 4 and 1 gen 3 for a total of 3 nvme ssds installed directly onto the motherboard however the more expensive models such as the ASRock b650e Tai Chi and Tai Chi Lite offer one Gen 5 and 2 Gen 4 m.2 SSD slots as well as 12 USB ports one of which is used before that can be used to connect Thunderbolt devices and monitors as well as transfer data at blazing fast speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second the Tai Chi light is a which is Gen 5. some high-end x670 extreme motherboards like the ASRock x670e Tai Chi come with two pcie 5 slots so you can install two gpus without any bandwidth worries in addition to stunning looks this motherboard features a USB type A ports and two USB 4 ports that support Thunderbolt devices and monitors the 24 plus 2 plus 1 power design enables professional CPU overclocking on this board and of course it includes Wi-Fi 6E and high quality audio built in the cheaper x670 extreme models such as the ASRock x670e Pro RS at 270 are almost as capable as the 500 Tai Chi the pro RS offers the same number of m.2 SSD slots but there are two fewer SATA ports it also comes with Wi-Fi 6E but the built-in audio is very basic and since the pro RS features A14 plus two plus one power design don't expect the same level of precision CPU overclocking as on the Tai Chi or super low vrm temperature but it is way more than good enough as for the USB devices the pro RS doesn't have usb4 but you can still connect 10 USB devices via the back panel if you don't do crazy CPU overclocking then the x670e pro RS is a much more sensible Choice save that 230 dollars you would have otherwise spent on the
