Your device is missing important security and quality fixes Error on Windows PC

what you guys today we're taking a look at how we can fix your device is missing important security and quality fixes now this is a common problem and i'm going to show you how to fix it now we show real working errors on this channel and we show you how to fix them this is another error here you can see you'll get pending to install and it's just greyed out and stuck there's no activity happening the download button is disappeared it's greyed out and you've got this red circle with an exclamation mark in it which is showing you an error so we're going to head over to here and download the software so we can run this on the computer and fix our problem so let's go ahead and download it i'll leave the link in the video description and you can say yes to the user can control here and this will then open up the program so what this is going to do is give us options to have many different tools in it to fix windows update issues so let's go ahead and click finish and all we need to do here now is we're going to go over to the right hand side here where the program is installed and we need to run this as administrator so right click on it and run as administrator once we've done this we can say yes again to the user count control and this will open up the reset windows update tool you have to agree to their terms conditions here so put y for yes and then push enter and now you're going to end up with a bunch of different options available to you you can see there's quite a few different ones here and the one that we're going to be looking at in this video is the reset windows update components sometimes these get corrupted or they get stuck and you have to clean them out and normally you would have to do this in command prompt but this software will do it all for you so you can see here number two resets the windows updates components that's the first one we're going to try and we're going to try to fix this one let's go ahead and click on number two here and push enter and what this is going to do is take care of all the hard work for you rather than opening up command prompts and having to type in a bunch of commands this will take care of it for you and make it a lot more easier so as you can see it's going to run along and start to stop the windows update service so it can then run some other commands so there's a bunch of stuff it needs to stop and then it needs to delete some files and then it also needs to restart them again and then we can then restart the system so i'm going to let this do its thing it does take a bit of time so be patient so basically what it's going to do is stop a bunch of services and then start deleting the old software distribution folder which has all your windows updates which you started to download in there and sometimes these get corrupted and basically windows can't install from there and you'll end up with a pending install and greyed out and it just won't work so by clearing that out it's going to allow us to reset the windows updates components and then basically download those updates again and it should bring it back to life basically and we'll be able to use the windows updates again so let's go ahead and let this finish off you can see here it's doing a bunch of things if you see some errors don't worry about it too much um but it will go through its process and you can see that cat root.2 and the software distribution you can see there so let it re-register these bits and start the services again it's restarting the winsock and a bunch of other things so i'm going to let this finish off and then what we need to do is restart our our pc gonna make sure all the services are running as well and that's important okay so that is now been completed it says the operation completed successfully that means we've successfully uh reset our windows update components and what we need to do now is restart the system and then we can check that windows update to see whether it's working and whether we can get these updates installed onto the pc so let's close this program off and restart our pc now just want to make something clear here if you're one of these people that have been blocking windows updates and you've used registry tweaks or you've used programs to block windows updates or software then you need to reset all of those before you start doing this because basically if you're blocking those it's not going to update because you have put a policy in place to stop it from updating and blocking windows updates you need to reverse all of that first so once we've got this done and we've restarted the system we can now go into the settings panel here and then go to the windows update and we'll see whether this has resolved our problem so hopefully we should now see uh some updates which will be available to us and there we go we can now see updates are available and we do have the pending install still which is okay but we do have that install now and we do have the download button to download updates where these were all grayed out before and it was just stuck so basically i'm going to click on install now and now we've got the yellow exclamation mark and you can see it does say error there so that's okay so let me just retry this again and then start to come down that's going to check for updates and we should start getting these updates coming down so it's just getting the list for us to see the updates that we need for this system and there's quite a few of them because this is quite outdated but you can see we do have that download and install updates there and that's now disappeared and what we're doing is just letting it check the system and get the list ready for our downloads and now we can see we do have uh the download section and they are starting to download you can see them downloading now whereas before they were just stuck pending install and they just couldn't do anything so now what we're doing now is starting to let this download and then once this is done i'll restart the pc and we should see a restart the pc appear up the top right hand side if it's working correctly and then we can start to install these updates rather than just see pending install and everything is grayed out and we have that red exclamation mark in there then we know something's not working but we can see it all coming down here so once it completes these download section it'll get to a point where it needs to restart the system and there we go we can now see the restart now and this should start the windows update install process once we restart and this is the part that probably got messed up somewhere before where someone may have stopped it during the update process and caused the problem and that's another problem that people do and there we go we do see the updates are on the way please keep your system turned on and it's just going to restart and get these installed on our computer so quickly speed this process up here and we'll get back to the desktop and there we go that is now updated and all we need to do now is we're going to go back to the windows update section again and just check to make sure we've got all of the updates installed on this system and if you run into this sort of problem these are the sort of fixes that you can do to try to get your system back up and running and get these updates onto the system these are security updates which are very important so what i'm going to need to do here now is we're going to quickly check here to make sure everything is okay and go to the settings panel here and then we can go to windows updates there we go let's go down to windows update here and click on this and it will get us a list to see if there's any more updates available and it should be only a few here available there we go they're starting to get installed now and i'll restart again and then we can go back in here again so i had to restart the pc again and now you can see there's only one available here which is now downloading and this was the very last one that i had to do so i'm going to let that download and get that installed and that is basically how you can resolve quite a few windows update problems this one was on windows 11 but you can use this method on windows 10 as well and hopefully you will be back up and running with your updates all
