Best April 1st video ever
Man . . . I know it's totally an April Fools Day joke, but . . . gosh dang it, that was just really good and entertaining to watch! I geniunely enjoy this concept! But I also know that there's no way Yandere Dev will ever pursue it!
The differences in approach to handling the similar roles and attributes of the female rivals to male rivals was just fascinating to watch! With each rival, I got more and more excited to see how they were going to be portrayed! The voice acting was spot on, the designs playfully redone, (Mido Rana and Kizano in particular had me both laughing and grinning like an idiot) and the changes in the script was just . . . so awesome!
I promise that this is coming from a place of genuine appreciation from an artistic standpoint, not just another fangirl drooling over the "hot guys." I would so, so much love for something . . . anything from this concept to become canon. I know that there's little to virtually no chance of that happening (what with how firm Yandere Dev's stance has been) but I'd be over-the-moon if something did.
Guys, I'm sensing a double fool.
Think about it. We know that Yandere Dev has already stated that you can make senpai male or female in the final game. Bearing that in mind, it seems that the last two videos by Yandere Dev (the tinybuild video and the progress report for march) Have been hinting that he's open to making Yandere Kun a reality. So open that, while not confirmed happening, he's implemented a Yandere Kun model for the current game build.
So, Senpai can be male or female, Yandere Chan might get a gender swap option... is it really too crazy to think that the rivals could get in game gender swaps as well? That said though, I will concede that it may just be an April Fools joke at the moment if he's not working on male rivals at all yet in lieu of finishing Osana and other ambitious ideas for the game. Plus if male rivals were implemented, I think they could use some design tweaks. Some of them looked a bit samey to me, like the same base with different clothes or details.ο»Ώ
(Final note, I know that Yandere Dev lurks Reddit more than Youtube it seems. So, if you see this and I'm way off the mark and this really is just a joke and I'm overthinking this, it'd be best to just dash my hopes. I totally under stand that gender swapping 10 more characters might be way too ambitious, since that'd be 10 more characters that would need new voice acting, models, animations, etc.)

Now I just want this game where I'm senpai and I get this huge harem. I'll settle for them actually being implemented into the game. Male rivals would be the best.
This should be real. I need my Ayano to be in dating sim world. They're all so cute OMG
This is actually way more interesting than the female rivals. The voice actors for the male rivals sound like they actually put their heart into it instead of trying to sound like generic anime boys. Not to mention this addition if it were added (doubt it'll be added) would give people choices in how they want to play instead of having to romance females as both male and female. There are more than female x female romance out there. Some people like boys love and some like female x male.
Get out of the dark ages YandereDev and add male rivals as an option. It's not impossible to add them now that you have people at Tiny Build helping you to fix the game.
