greetings to all of you from ccf and those of you who are watching this message from wherever you are in the world i'm so glad that you're taking the time as we continue our series entitled anew why anew well because this is the perfect time for us to discover more about who god is and to know what he means to us today as we face our personal challenges we just finished our week-long prayer and fasting and i truly truly hope that you've had a personal breakthrough i'm sure that you've developed a more intimate relationship with god as you spent more time with him in prayer i want to and you will see the link for details it's open to everybody it's a blessed time of devotion in god's word and a time of prayer you may want to fast from lunch or whatever you decide we hope that you would make prayer and fasting a way of life it'll transform you in so many ways i'm excited to share this message with you because i know that you will understand the heart of god and how he wants to bless you and give you the best in many areas of your life today may i give you a test come on a very simple test i'm going to show you several universal symbols no words just pictures and what i'd like you to do is shout it out to the people beside you what is your answer what does this mean or put it in the chat box when i show it to you are you ready let's start the very first one is this what does this mean what does it mean no crying babies okay you get the idea right next one what does this mean no pets allowed yes look at the person next to you no never mind never mind let's let's not go there okay what about this one oh that's a sign for life and death no cr you need this this is very important now in a foreign country i saw this sign it makes it very clear here it says mailman and then freeman so you know where to go right okay next one what does this mean or you know what this means huh this is the international symbol for marriage oh i know the women love this but the men are shaking their heads just kidding just kidding okay this one christianity yes christianity remember honk if you love jesus text while driving if you want to meet him all right here's the last one the last one do you know what this universal sign means this is a sign for healing isn't it amazing it is our heart with a cross in the center friends today i want to talk to your heart about healing god our healer and this is our memory verse in psalm 147 verse 3 it says he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds a very simple verse to memorize let's look at it again psalm 147 verse 3 he heals the brokenhearted and what binds up their wounds he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds i really want you to put this verse in your heart today in the old testament after the israelites slaves were released from their bondage in egypt you remember the story pharaoh changed his mind and went after the israelites and trapped them between the red sea and his army god intervened and caused a great miracle they passed through the red sea there was dry ground that they walked through and beside them standing apart were the walls of the water watch this the sea walls were separated giving them a passage to get to the other side this must have been an incredible miracle for each of them to experience then they saw the egyptian army come after them then drown as the waters crashed in on them the israelites praised god because they had escaped death from pharaoh's army and were finally set free they expressed their praise with one heart in exodus 15 verse 1 and 3 it says it says i will sing to the lord for he is highly exalted the horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea the lord is my strength and my song he has become my salvation he is my god and i will praise him my father's god and i will exalt him the lord is a warrior the lord is his name friends that song of praise lasts for 21 verses but then the praising turns into protesting in exodus 15 22 it says there then moses led israel from the red sea and they went out into the wilderness of shur and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water i want you to notice something it says here then moses led israel moses actually did not lead israel it was god who was leading israel how did god lead them well you know he led them through a cloud in the in the daytime a pillar of cloud and he led them through a pillar of fire at night so it was god who is leading them this is what they call the wilderness of sure and sure it's interesting that word if you look it up means wall it means wall and i want to ask you today are you faced with a wall in your life because that's exactly what they could have been feeling they had run into a wall of despair instead of a window of blessing do some of you today feel like you're facing a wall an insurmountable obstacle notice it says they went three days in the wilderness and found no water three days in the hot desert sun who can survive that having no water to drink the people they turned against moses by grumbling in exodus 15 verse 23 and 24 it says and when they came to mara they could not drink the waters of mara for it was bitter so the people grumbled at moses saying what shall we drink the place was called mara which means what it means bitter what is bitter in tagalog bitters god's people stop giving praise and start grumbling because when they finally find some water they discover that it had a very bitter taste talk about disappointment they were probably excited to locate this refreshment only to have all their expectations shattered the people were angry with god but they take it out on a person we do that as well don't we someone once said that anger is a magnet in search for metal and the closest metal was moses kawawasi moses poor moses we tend to take things out on others when we don't get what we want and when we want it are you with me do some of you feel let down today you've gone from high expectations to great disappointment to heavy discouragement i want you to notice that their gratitude turned to griping when their memory of god's faithfulness was forgotten and it only took them three days to land in this ditch of despair bitterness can blind us to the promises of god they had forgotten the bitterness of being slaves in egypt was even more terrible they also forgot that god promised to them to bring them to the land flowing with milk and honey the promised land they forgot to see the big picture just like many of us today when we encounter trials and walls of disappointment we don't realize that the best is yet to come moses does what we should all do he cries out to the lord instead of protesting he prays and that's what hard times should lead us to do how do most people today cope with pain and disappointment would you agree that they many of them get drunk they do drugs they get depressed they they rant on social media instead of praying friends when we are in pain we must pray our life should be a life of prayer we should always be in close community communion and communication with god in prayer in exodus 15 verse 25 it says look at it then he cried out to the lord and the lord showed him a tree and he threw it into the waters and the waters became what became sweet now this is amazing god answers moses by showing him a simple piece of wood if i had a piece of wood here i could show you oh this one right here perfect look this piece of wood it doesn't make sense god tells moses get a piece of water a tree or a branch whatever it wasn't and throw it into the water and the water when he did that immediately becomes sweet now i can only imagine the taste of that water was like maybe maybe buku juice super sweet and then god tells them in the next verse he says in verse 26 if you will give earnest heed to the voice of the lord your god and do what is right in his sight and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes those are the conditions he says i will put none of the diseases on you which i have put on the egyptians for i the lord am your healer this is something i want you to notice for the very first time the lord god says i the lord am your healer friends understand this this is one of the most powerful and most precious truth that god ascribes to himself the god who heals he says i the lord am your healer which means yahweh rafa yahweh rafa the hebrew translation of rafa means to comfort to restore or to heal the god who heals he is healing you today i am your healer if there's one area where people are searching for answers it's certainly over the issue of healing so many people are confused misled and missing out on the blessing that god intends for their life notice that the israelites were not physically sick or dying and yet in the midst of their bitterness and hurt god reveals himself as their healer this is god's eternal character and nature of who he is to us how does this message apply to you are you today in need of god's healing this is one area where so many are struggling and in despair almost all of you who are listening right now i believe are in need of healing if not you may be someone close to you and dear to you i want you to listen all the way to the end of this message because you will discover the heart of god when it comes to healing and how you can be healed today most of the time when you hear the word healing what comes to your mind what comes to your mind yes we think of physical healing and that's that's one area where god can heal us but the beauty about our god is that he can also heal us emotionally and spiritually i want us to see how david cried out for three areas of healing in his own life look at psalm chapter 6 verse 2. david says be merciful lord for i am faint what type of healing did david need emotional healing the next verse verse 2 still oh lord heal me for my bones are in agony what kind of healing did david need he needed physical healing in verse 3 it says here my soul is in anguish how long o lord how long the type of healing that david needed was spiritual spiritual healing friends which one today are you in need of listen carefully the title of our message today is have faith in god our healer can you all say that have faith in god our healer i want to look at three points today the very first point is god heals us emotionally god heals us emotionally point number two god heals us physically and point number three god heals us spiritually let me tell you a story one day cindy and i were driving down from tagaytay one weekend when we witness a young woman fall into a ditch on the side of the road beside the car we immediately stopped our car we got down and we went to help her and i noticed that her knee was was all bleeding and her ankle seemed twisted it looked like she needed an x-ray for her leg and a doctor to stitch her wounds we helped her into her car with her friends and asked if we could pray for her well she and her friends later said thanks and headed for the hospital it strikes me that this individual was in need of three types of healing at that moment she certainly needed physical healing she needed emotional healing because she was crying and afraid and i'm assuming that she also needed some spiritual healing as well point number one is god heals us emotionally god heals us emotionally our heavenly father is yahweh rafa when we are in need of emotional healing in psalm 147 verse 3 our memory verse remember he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds the word for brokenhearted means crushed smashed shattered into pieces some of you if you're honest enough are dealing with some deep emotional pain caused by others who have wounded you so greatly that it feels like nothing nothing can heal your heart are you today broken inside do you feel your heart shattered into pieces maybe your husband or your wife has broken your bond of marriage with an illicit affair could it be that your boyfriend or girlfriend has betrayed you and and left you in despair your best friend has maliciously gossiped against you someone you trusted swindled you of money it could be that your child has rebelled and turned away from the faith there are some of you here who've been so pierced by hurtful words coming from your father or mother and until today those words still ring in your ear together with the wounds in your heart maybe when you were young someone physically abused you and you still feel scarred and traumatized emotional distress can also be caused by circumstances beyond your control like this pandemic crisis that we're facing fear anxiety hopelessness insecurity can easily lead to mental anguish and depression you may have lost a dear family member and are still gripped with grief in your heart don't take this for granted because emotional pain can be as severe and devastating as physical pain you may not realize it but your emotional pain can be like a cancer or acid slowly eating away at your mind and your body our natural default when you've been emotionally hurt is to to get sad and then get angry towards that person and even god when it is not resolved your wound turns to bitterness that leads to unforgiveness some of you who are listening right now are being eaten inside by bitter feelings and smoldering anger don't discount the fact that god could have allowed this to happen in your life for a specific purpose he desires to build your character and strengthen your faith don't deny any fault that you may have to admit and correct with the other person you need to seek reconciliation and peace with that person if possible friends nothing ever touches your life without first passing through the loving hands of god if you're in emotional pain due to circumstances beyond your control like fear anxiety discouragement depression and other emotions like this your feelings are very real admit that they are beyond your control and you need to seek sometimes some professional counselors for help but god offers you a prescription that goes straight to the heart in first peter chapter 5 verse 7 it says there cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you friends i want you to look at these words cast that means throw out surrender give it all and there it is all not just a little bit you shouldn't hold on to any of this cast all your anxiety your emotional pain on him on god because why he cares for you and that's our loving heavenly father he cares for us so much you are not meant to carry this heavy burden that is beyond your control the word cast is surrender surrender to god in prayer can you say surrender surrender ask him to take control daily and god will give you his peace and confidence beyond understanding what do you do when you feel you've been unjustly abused and mistreated how do you find healing for your heart when the person you hurt doesn't apologize or admit that they even did anything wrong against you unfortunately my friends there is no pill that you can take for this acid or cancer that's eating and damaging you on the inside most likely that person who caused you all that pain doesn't even know about it he's not aware of your condition but your bitterness and hate has changed you to that person or circumstance and you're now their prisoner your pain and cancer may even be spilling over to the people you love around you who don't deserve it you know what they say hurt people hurt people god's word tells us in hebrews chapter 12 verse 15 it says see to it no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble and by it many become defiled friends the enemy wants nothing more than to keep you locked away in a cell filled with pain forever trapped in isolation don't be fooled into thinking that when you hate someone you're hurting them don't think that you're only enslaving yourself to bitterness friends the good news is that there is hope and healing in store for you today friends have faith in god our healer it is god who can heal you though your pain may be great god is always greater god used a tree in mara to do the impossible to turn what was bitter into sweet water and he wants to do the same inside of you today remember jesus was innocent and didn't deserve to be betrayed humiliated persecuted reviled or tortured no as he hung on the cross he cried out in luke 23 34 he says father forgive them father forgive them only when you humbly surrender your rights to the lord and finally release that person who has caused you so much emotional pain will you experience god's gracious healing like never before he is the one who heals your emotional sickness completely it is not our personal will it's not willpower or mind over matter or self-help books or or even coping mechanisms that will heal you only god can cure restore comfort and heal your heart if today you know someone who is going through a dark valley of despair god can use you by just coming alongside them with compassion listening to them praying with them and leading them closer to god you see god heals the root and source of the problem in the heart with his prescription forgiveness forgiveness is the greek word apollon which means to release to release now this is a picture of someone who is ringing a church bell by pulling on a rope in the old days in the church there was a bell high up in a tower and there was a long rope and in order to ring the bell you pulled that rope so for example for example there was a rope right here okay and i were to pull it okay and oh wow no well you see that ding dong sound will never end unless the bell ringer releases the rope and when he lets go of the rope the sound finally comes to us to an end and there is healing and freedom in forgiveness it's all about releasing surrendering forgiveness is more powerful than pain by forgiving the person who intensely hurt you you're not saying that they what they did was okay or excusable no you're saying lord i leave this person in your hands to do justice that's what you're saying in first peter chapter 2 verse 22 23 it says here he who committed no sin that's jesus nor was any deceit found in his mouth and while being abusely insulted he did not insult in return while suffering he did not threaten notice what jesus how he responded what did he do but kept entrusting himself to him who judges righteously jesus was completely sinless and didn't deserve the abuse the insult and the suffering but notice his response it says here he did not threatened he didn't threaten him he didn't retaliate but instead it says but kept in trusting himself notice the word kept it's not just a one-time thing he continuously entrusted himself kept entrusting himself to who to him to him who judges rightly to god who is the righteous judge you see friends our god as our father sees our pain he knows the details of your situation right now and he will make what is wrong right in his perfect time you may not see the justice for yourself but you can rest assured in your faith that god will make things right much better than you ever could forgiveness doesn't make them right it makes me right you know the only reason that i'm able to share this with you is because i've gone through so many times of not wanting to forgive i know what it's like having everything in my mind and heart say no way no i was so angry i was so bitter i was willing to give up on that relationship forever but god had other plans i was convicted in my mind that i cannot keep on living while having this heavy burden of unforgiveness wrapped around my heart it was only by god's spirit and strength that i was able to let go and surrender if not for the love of god himself and his power i would still be a prisoner today remember that it was the in the cross of christ that you and i were forgiven when we didn't deserve forgiveness but he graciously forgave us he tells us in ephesians 4 31 all bitterness wrath anger clamor and slander is that what you're going through in your in your self right now in your emotions must be removed from you along with all malice he goes on to say how in verse 32 be kind to one another compassionate forgiving each other just as god in christ also has forgiven you if you want a practical and biblical way to forgive forgive as christ has forgiven you remember that christ forgave you by paying the penalty of your sins with his life he forgave you by by his grace something you and i don't deserve and he gave you the assurance that he will remember your sins no more if you want to experience the freedom from emotional pain you need to walk in forgiveness you have to tell the lord that you can't forgive that person but that you want jesus to give you his forgiving grace it's your choice to forgive not for their sake but because you want to be healed and set free tell the lord that you're tired and weary of drinking the water of bitterness and that you will leave that person at the foot of the cross god's tree of healing forgiveness is a choice not a feeling whatever pain that you are carrying you need to hand it over to the healer himself now will you be affected again when the memory or the sight of that person is brought before you i would say yes definitely but in those times remind yourself i have surrendered this person to god how do we apply this point well the application is admit your emotional pain by writing out your story write out your story write out your prayer to god and share with others to glorify god how you have been emotionally healed and set free i really encourage you to do this and it will release you from all that pain and much more let's look at point number two god heals us physically god heals us physically we believe that god continues to exercise his divine power over human sickness by healing people who are physically sick he can and he does heal many of those we pray for through his power and for his glory god has healed me many times and countless people i know as well god calls himself the god who heals this is who he is and is what he does and true to his character in nature god fulfilled his promises in the old testament numerous times healing his chosen people and even nations who did not consider him as lord in jeremiah 33 verse 6 it says behold behold i am going to bring it to healing and the remedy and i will heal them and i will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth there are multiple examples from the old testament where god healed people his healing extended not only to his children the children of israel but to others even unbelievers as well in the new testament gospels jesus had countless miracles of healing that revealed he is the son of god in matthew 4 verse 24 look what it says the news about him spread throughout all syria and they brought to him all who were ill those suffering with various diseases and pains demonics epileptics paralytics and he healed them notice what jesus did he healed them the list of jesus miraculous healings is so extensive it would take hours to go through each one but you know with a single word or even a touch of his garment everyone of those who sought healing from jesus was restored those who were sick lame deaf mute blind lepers all of them were healed he even raised some from the dead jesus taught his disciples and gave them the power and authority to cast out demons and heal the sick which many of them did as well now let me ask you is your physical illness a result of your careless lifestyle really look at your lifestyle are you eating the right foods exercising sleeping enough living without stress you need to also do your part in getting rid of bad habits to keep your body healthy spiritual gifts of healing were given not only to the apostles and leaders but also to the church members in the new testament including some today first corinthians chapter 12 verse 8 and 9 says for to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit and to another the word of knowledge according to the same spirit to another faith by the same spirit and to another gifts of healing gifts of healing by the one spirit we're clearly taught that when we pray in the name of jesus in accordance with his will with faith and conviction god promises to hear and answer in john chapter 16 verse 23 it says until now you've asked for nothing in my name ask and you will receive so that your joy may be made full so that your joy may be made full listen to these prophetic words of isaiah who predicted the purpose of the coming messiah in isaiah 53 verse 5 the prophet isaiah says but he was pierced for our offenses he was crushed for our wrongdoings the punishment of our well-being was laid upon him and by his wounds we are healed it continues in verse six all of us like sheep have gone astray each one of us has turned to his own way but the lord has caused the wrong doing of us all to fall on him and then we go to first peter chapter 2 verse 24 it says and he himself brought our sins in his body up on the cross so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness by his wounds you were healed now that phrase here by his wounds you were healed what does that mean is this talking about our sins our broken spirit separated from god is this our physical healing our emotional healing the answer is yes all of that isn't great that we have a loving jesus who died for us and gave his life to pay for our sins we should never try to put god in a box and believe that all the right conditions must be met before he can heal don't think that some say oh you don't have enough faith or you're in sin or you have pride or you're disobedient or your prayer is not right first of all we must examine our lives and check if any of these are true but the bottom line is that if we truly humble ourselves before god in prayer he will hear us and answer in a way and time that is best in his sight sometimes god's perfect plan for our lives is to allow us to suffer and experience disease illness and hardship and the reason for this is that he can often teach us things through suffering that we would never be able to learn through a book or seminar or when life is going well in the midst of suffering remember that he still loves you he still has a plan and he still has a profound purpose for that pain that can end up being a blessing beyond anything you could ever imagine in second corinthians chapter 4 verse 16 and 17 it says there therefore we do not lose heart but though our outer person is decaying don't you feel that today yet our inner person is being renewed day by day for our momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison oh friends god heals whatever in whatever way he chooses and we cannot demand healing because we don't know the specific heart of god in each case i want you to remember death does not mean god is defeated no there is a time that we will all die either by accident or sickness old age friends death is victory when we are in christ in psalm 116 verse 15 i love this it says here precious in the sight of the lord precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his saints it is our home going what greater joy is there than being in god's eternal presence he alone holds us holds every breath that we take he alone holds every moment of our life on this earth here's the question what should we do if you or a loved one is sick what should you do god's word gives us clear instructions in the book of james chapter 5 verse 14 and 16 it says there is anyone among you sick that's the question then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the lord and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick and the lord will raise him up and if he has committed sins they will be forgiven him therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much as a pastor the most frequent request for prayer that i receive is to pray for the physical healing of others you listening you all know someone who needs healing right now you truly believe that nothing is impossible with god believe that he still heals and uses his people as instruments of healing today we see the power of god manifested through healing in ccf ministries every year there are accounts of healing during prayer and fasting people who've been diagnosed with stage four cancer people with chronic and and seemingly incurable ailments and people who have been given days and or weeks to live have been miraculously and instantaneously healed brothers and sisters let's listen to the testimony of our sister melissa joseph the process of my coming to christ started in 1993 our first son who was 10 months old then had a hole in his heart and needed to undergo open heart surgery a trial that led us to the christian life we now live he was amazingly healed and is now 28 years old healthy and a fine young man we were even blessed with two more wonderful kids our search for the lord in our study of his word has never ceased since in december 2006 i was diagnosed stage 2b breast cancer it felt like my life just stopped and i was suspended in the air it's like falling from the cliff and not hitting button the diagnosis of the cancer was that it was off an aggressive type so the treatment was equivalent to stage four patient i was completely blown away by the sad news my world turned upside down it was devastating and painful fear worries and questions entered my mind like would i be able to handle this will i see my children grow up will i be a capable wife will my husband and my children be able to go through this at that point i had only two choices panic or pray i chose to pray and surrendered all my questions to him i prayed for him to take over it was tough accepting it and it dawned on me i chose to keep my eyes on the lord the questions that came into my mind was lord how will i go through this how do you want me to respond to this in ephesians 6 13 it says use every piece of god's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil so that after the battle you will still be standing firm at this point after doing a lot of thinking i finally told myself this is an opportunity for me to glorify god i realize that this trial is not about me but about him i prayed like a child i cried myself to sleep but focused on him and drew strength from his word i underwent mastectomy right after the new years of 2006 and went through six sessions of chemotherapy three weeks after physically going through chemotherapy is very exhausting each session was tough but i knew that at that point the lord was carrying me through it there were times when my mind was so dazed i couldn't even read the bible i couldn't even pray very long the only prayer i could pray was lord hold on to me and he truly did he pulled me through and it was just so amazing the lord has surely used my family my friends my d group in terms of support and godly insights they comforted me with their prayers their texts messages their hugs their presence and even in their silence when we are together in the middle of the treatment to be sure my doctors had my mass extensively examined the results revealed that my cancer was not as aggressive as previously reported and that i wouldn't have to go through the additional costly treatment after the chemo he surely had a hand in every stage of my trial he is my comforter my sanctuary my rescuer my strength my rock eternal my healer now we have formed a support group called stage 0 project pink that i truly believe was ordained by him i have learned to be still so that he could take over today i celebrate my 14th year cancer-free i live each day with gratitude and thanksgiving i believe the lord allowed this trial in my life because he is molding my character and has great plans for me i believe that when we respond to god correctly the healing process begins let me end with this verse in psalm 91 he who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of all the almighty i will say of the lord he is my refuge and my fortress and my god in whom i trust to god be the glory i like how she said she faced a choice to panic or pray then she surrendered everything to god and she saw god's hand work in her life friends in ccf we've seen and still expect to see god answer prayers of healing ccf beyond international partners in africa south asia east asia have seen many miraculous healings it is safe to say that tens of thousands of new believers in south asia have come to christ because they have seen someone physically healed or delivered from demonic oppression we believe that god is glorified when he heals in response to his people praying in faith for healing in his name what's the application to us the application is go boldly before god's throne of grace in prayer believing that he can heal you and your loved ones trusting that he can do the impossible for his glory alone at the end of this message i will lead you in a prayer and during the fast track segment i'd like to answer some questions that may be on your heart stay till the end and hear those answers point number three god heals us spiritually god heals us spiritually this is by far the most important of the three truths of healing friends listen there is an infection that every human being on this planet is fighting it is far more deadly than this coveted plague or any illness or disease it is the spiritual cancer of sin it can kill your future your reputation it can ruin your marriage your family your joy your your closeness to god if it isn't cured it can ultimately kill you forever by keeping you out of god's presence for eternity god has created us with a soul that has the ability to feel guilt when we do something wrong we might call that moral sickness feeling guilt and shame over what we have or haven't done feeling dirty inside friends those aren't pleasant feelings and this is god's alarm bell warning us to deal with what's wrong before it leads to eternal spiritual death in psalm 32 king david openly pours out his moral sickness and pleads for spiritual healing after his wretched sin of adultery with bathsheba after manipulating the murder of uriah her husband and after living with lies and deceit he starts a psalm with the end in mind he says in psalm 32 verse 1 and 2 he says how blessed how blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven whose sin is covered how blessed is a person whose guilt the lord does not take into account and in whose spirit there is no deceit friends that's the goal that each of us must have that's spiritual healing and freedom david confesses where his heart was before this sickness in psalm 32 verse 3 he says when i kept silent about my sin my body wasted away through my groaning all day long he was declaring that he had a deep anguish in his soul and that he couldn't even express it in words he goes on in verse 4 he says for day and night your hand was heavy upon me my vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer maybe this is the heavy burden that you're feeling in your heart right now this is really god's loving hand on you the loss of strength the desire to live dismal feelings of shame guilt and fear of being caught spiritual sickness of which many today are in denial and deadman your guilt isn't meant to shatter you it's meant to save you david came to his senses and admitted his sin he says in verse 5 i acknowledge my sin to you and i did not hide my guilt i said listen i will confess my wrongdoings to the lord and you forgave the guilt of my sin finally the light breaks through the darkness and david's guilt is cleansed and his spiritual sickness is healed one of the greatest miracles of healing is when you are born again you were once dead in your sins but then made alive by the spirit of god and this is how god heals us spiritually this is what you can experience as well quit trying to hide and justify your sin the longer you refuse to repent of your sin the more god's going to turn up the pain and guilt and the higher price you're going to pay and this is not because he doesn't love you but because he loves you he loves you so much that he will not allow you to keep going down that path that leads to destruction the message from heaven to your heart today is in acts chapter 13 verse 19. it's the message of repent and turn to god so that your sins may be wiped out that times the refreshing may come from the lord relief from your pain healing for your heart cleansing from your soul you'll find all of that at the foot of the cross of jesus where every sin you've ever committed was paid for in full by his blood whether you're hurting emotionally physically or spiritually turn to god who heals you right now i don't believe it was a coincidence that god's remedy for the bitter water at mara was a wooden log his solution for our sins was that jesus died on a wooden cross his death on the cross takes away our sins and frees us from the bondage of sin and death from mara god led the israelites to a place called elim look at this we read in exodus 15 27 then they came to a limb where there were 12 springs of water and 70 date palms and they camped there beside the waters isn't that a beautiful picture a limb is a symbol of abundance 12 springs possibly one for each tribe and 70 palm trees god led them to a place of plenty even if you're not cured physically you can be cured and healed by jesus spiritually his cross brings us forgiveness because he is the living water who gives us eternal life jesus said in john 4 14 whoever drinks of the water that i will give him shall never be thirsty but the water that i will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life so what's the application to us the application is surrender in prayer surrender and prayer have faith in god our healer have faith in god our healer maybe you've never made a decision a life-changing decision to humble yourself and surrender your life to god the god who heals you in every area of your life today right now is the best time to apply this message if you're in need of healing right now whether emotional physical or spiritual all you need to do is pray surrender your heart to the lord would you please allow me to pray for you wherever you are wherever you are right now i encourage you to raise your hands to god raise your hands to god as a sign of surrender and pray with me to god lift your hands lift your hands higher wherever you are we are in the presence of the lord i want you to get down get down on your knees get down on your knees this is a posture of surrender yes let's fully surrender our lives to the power of god's strength emotional and physical healing let's pray oh lord god in heaven we truly believe that you're the god of the impossible that you can heal beyond anything that people can imagine and we come before you lord jesus believing and trusting in your perfect way in your perfect time would you heal everyone of their emotional and physical illness all the ailments all the sicknesses all the seas lord jesus would you be the one to touch their bodies with your healing hand we don't believe that the doctor's reports are final lord you are final and we humbly ask you lord jesus lord god to please touch their bodies right now touch them with your healing hand allow them to experience your grace allow them to experience your forgiveness allow them to experience your healing power oh lord god we trust you we put our total faith in you our confidence and assurances in you alone lord god thank you lord thank you lord for all that you'll do in healing those people who are putting their trust and faith this is ccf sunday fast track today we are with none other than pastor joby soriano pastor joby thank you so much for that powerful message you have shared to us that god is our healer it comes really in a very opportune time and a lot of people can really relate to this but we have some questions for you if you don't mind sure our first question is during this time we have actually we've heard from your message earlier that you've mentioned the significance of emotional healing and this comes through forgiveness but a lot of people would probably ask should this forgiveness come or should it lead eventually into reconciliation that's a good question because it's i believe god's desire for all relationships to be restored reconciled in the case of a husband and wife parent and a child even among siblings it's god's desire that all of these relationships be reconciled and restored but the problem is it doesn't always happen it's not always possible forgiveness is one thing reconciliation is something else reconciliation requires forgiveness but forgiveness does not demand reconciliation reconciliation oftentimes requires trust and trust needs time to prove and to test some will however say you know i'll forgive that person but i'll never want to have anything to do with that person you've heard that said before think about this what if god were to say that to us god were to come down with a booming voice and say oh i forgive you but i don't have anything to do with you again how would we feel in romans chapter 12 verse 9 it says if possible so as far as it depends on you be at peace with all people and i believe that's the guiding principle that we should have be at peace with everyone try as much as possible to reconcile and restore relationships do our part and let god do his part through the life of the other person thank you so much pastor jerubi so i guess we just have to really wait for god's plan if it's it's if it's part of his plan yes for that reconciliation to come in yes okay so our next question is in uh exodus chapter 15 verse 26 you shared to us this in our in your message that god is our healer if that is so if god is our healer should we still go to doctors and professionals for our medical needs won't this be a show of lacking in faith or our trust in god i knew that you that's that's a question but the answer is we should absolutely go to doctors and medical professionals there's no conflict whatsoever in praying in faith for healing and seeking the help of medical science and practitioners first of all we would like to say thank you to all the first frontliners out there the doctors the nurses all of them who sacrificed their life daily to help those who are sick especially those in this time of pandemic jesus himself he referred to medical care when he said in matthew 9 verse 12 he says those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick in other words he was implying that those who are sick need a physician it's okay to consult professionals and even take medicines i most certainly do and i will constantly and continue to do so but we need to remember that we should not bypass the great physician he is the very first person we should go to in prayer god can heal with just the word from his mouth but he uses other instruments as well god often works his healing through doctors and often trained health professionals he gives them wisdom he gives them skills i also believe that hospital findings are not always final you see god can override whatever reports reveal with his miracle healing power that's our god wow that's amazing it's really to just realize that we cannot limit god in his actions he will use his ways in different ways and yes to to heal us and for our next question uh pastor joby you you mentioned a while ago with news of recovery we cannot help but be overjoyed whenever we see some people recovering from their illnesses but why is it that pastor joe at times in spite of praying in faith or fully believing in god's power to restore the health of our loved one at the end they still die oh and this is a sad truth i know so many people who have friends loved ones family members who've died just recently from this pandemic crisis and this is a question that many of us struggle with try to understand what you're basically asking is why does god not heal these people yes every time we ask a why god question we really don't know the the mind of god so we can't give a definite answer and i humbly admit that i don't know the real answer there's no answer to this question that will fully satisfy a person who is in this struggle we wrestle with the situation because on one side we believe and we know that god can heal any time he wants and the other side is we're praying and believing that god can and heal whoever he wishes but when the person later on dies we wonder what's the reason i want you to consider this perspective if you agree that god is sovereign meaning that god is almighty he knows the beginning in the end and has perfect wisdom and heals for his glory then we should be willing to accept his result i think of david in second samuel he wept he fasted and prayed on the ground the entire time that he pleaded with god for his baby's life this was his childhood bathsheba he didn't function as a king anymore at that time because he was immersed in prayer he was really praying for his child when his baby died after about seven days the bible says david got up he washed he ate and he went on with his life you know the lesson we can learn here from david is we ought to pray fervently believing in faith expectantly and yet humbly submitting and accepting god's decision to our prayer and then move on with life okay so again this is really just waiting for god to work in his perfect time yes and truly we just have to wait for that surprise that will come from the lord right and uh for this next question um you know for the past uh week we've been going through our uh fast and a lot of prayers have been ongoing for our prayer requests and a lot of these actually centered on health on recovery yes but what should i do pastor if i have already prayed fervently and ever asked some friends to pray with me for probably a loved one or a friend who is sick who is who is very ill and yet nothing happens what should i do and that's where many people are in today they're waiting they're hoping they're believing first of all let me assure you that god's word tells us that he hears our prayers he knows our situations if you look at scripture you'll discover that god answers prayers in many many ways sometimes god's answer is instantaneous i mean just look at the way jesus healed people it was immediate in that instant they were healed god sometimes answers with delay with delay meaning it's a process that's happening behind the scenes we can't see but he's answering the prayer in his own way in his own time and god is working in our lives at the same time to change us to teach us a lesson i remember the story of general neyman in the old testament where he had leprosy and he went to elijah to be healed and the prophet told him go and dip your body seven times in the jordan and he thought that's crazy he left but later he was convinced to go back and so he humbled himself he set aside his pride and he went back to the jordan river he dipped himself once twice three times nothing happened you know it was still the same four five six times still the same you know if he stopped there he would have missed the miracle well just like us when we choose to turn our backs and stop praying and start disobeying god that's when we miss out on the miracle on the seventh time that he dipped his body in the jordan river what happened his leprosy completely fell off and his skin was like a newborn baby what does that teach us sometimes god's answer is immediate sometimes it's delayed sometimes it's ultimate what do i mean this is when in god's sovereignty he chooses to heal us by giving us perfect immortal bodies when we die this is called the glorified body in the bible so god heals in many different ways at different times what we should do is keep believing keep trusting keep praying fervently with confidence and assurance that god hears us and will answer our prayer don't give up don't give up okay and perhaps just for my last question pastor jovi a lot of people have been probably been touched with this message and it's really yearning for a healing it's better it's either physical emotional or spiritual healing what do you want to tell them how can they move on from after hearing this message what should they do well i would always say go back to god surrender in prayer believe in him knowing full well that he is your father and he wants what's best for you whether it's to heal you instantly or delayed or immediate whatever it is constantly trust in the lord never give up oftentimes we we think well i've prayed so much and and nothing's happened so i might as well just stop whatever the healing that they need today it's all about surrendering
