what's up guys today I bring you another useful head-to-head comparison between two newly launched xiaomi redmi smartphones so we have the redmi note 13 versus the redmi Note 13 Pro [Music] Plus now both are mid-range smartphones with very interesting specs and in this video we are simply trying to find out what are the main differences between these two smartphones and I must also emphasize that these are the global versions so the specs might be slightly different to the Asian and Indian counterparts so do expect some differences now let's start off with the prices now once again I have no idea of the actual pricing as this info has not been disclosed yet but I'm guessing the redmi note 13 should be just under £200 and the redm note 13 Pro Plus should be priced just under £350 and by the time this video is live the actual prices would have been unveiled to you guys anyway and if you don't know then you can of course check those prices from the links in the description box so first off design and feel how do they feel in my hands well both phones have a very interesting finish on the back this is the redmi note 13 in Ocean Sunset color so we have a shiny finish with almost a few colors reflecting to the light it almost looks like a color changing phone so very nice design and color really like this and this is the redmi note 13 Pro Plus in Aurora purple color it has a matte finish at the bottom then you got three different block color finishes on the top and also both phones do not pick up any fingerprints which is quite surprising for the standard 13 model considering it's got that reflective design furthermore the note 13 has flat edges and the Pro Plus has curved edges in fact this is the first ever red smartphone to feature a curved display the note 13 has ip54 Splash resistance and the Pro Plus version has ip68 water and dust resistance now ip68 water resistance is unheard of in mid-range smartphones so the Pro Plus model is definitely giving us something new in this price category on the front of the phones both feature 6.67 in 120 HZ AMOLED displays with Rin land certifications for flicker-free and low blue light and both feature 1,800 nits of peak brightness the resolutions however are slightly different the note 13 has 2400x 1080 resolution and the Pro Plus model features a slightly higher 2712 X 1220 now both phones feature 120 HZ refresh but the note 13 only gives you a choice between 120 HZ and 60 HZ all the time there is no Dynamic refresh included in the note 13 but the Pro Plus model does feature Dynamic refresh rate so it can automatic basally adjust the refresh rate based on what you're doing for better power consumption or you still have the option to go 60 HZ or 120 HZ all the time now both phones also feature exactly the same always on displays and considering they are both running the same OS you can expect more or less the same features and here is the aod in action so that's the always on display both dialers in action so let me open up the dialers without giving away all my contact numbers so here is the dialers in action this is how it looks also I need to show you what the messaging app looks like and if I just open up a message I was typing this is the messenger app the default messenger app so that was a quick look at the default dialer and the default messaging app moving on the Note 13 features Dolby Atmos which is amazing but the Pro Plus model takes it a step further it will give you Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos both screens are protected by Gorilla Glass but slightly different versions the note 13 has Gorilla Glass 3 and the Pro Plus model has Gorilla Glass victus both phones are pretty slim and light the note 13 is 7.97 MM thick and it weighs 190 G and in comparison the Pro Plus model is 8 mm thick and it weighs 25.9 G so technically the note 13 is slightly Slimmer and slightly lighter but in the hands you would not notice the subtle differences they feel very similar in weight apart from the fact that the Pro Plus model feels curvier than the standard flat model so it feels better in the hands but nevertheless both phones are beautiful in their own right now let's quickly compare the ports if I just place this phone carefully on top now at the bottom you can see the layout is nearly the same so we got loudspeakers type-c ports and Sim trays you can see the note 13 SIM tray is slightly larger than the Pro Plus SIM tray but I do also want to show you that there is no micro SD support the the note 13 supports dual SIM 4G and the Pro Plus model supports dual SIM 5G that is the difference there's no eim support and the only difference here is the microphones you can see they're in slightly different positions and on the side we have exactly the same looking power buttons and volume rocker and at the top of the phone again is near identical we've got both loudspeakers ey blasters microphones but the note 13 standard model has a headphone jack which is uh quite interesting now let's talk about the battery life both phon have the same battery capacity of 5,000 Milah hours the note 13 supports 33 w fast charging and the Pro Plus takes this to another level with 120 wats fast charging which means 19 minutes for a full 100% charge both come with the mentioned fast turbocharges and just to confirm neither phone supports wireless charging now if we quickly talk about the sound both support Dolby Atmos sound and here is a quick sound test on both for you to compare so let's start with the note 13 volume is on Max on both here we [Music] go okay let's try the Pro [Applause] Plus wow now in that brief Dolby Atmos sound test I have to say I'm actually impressed with both phones both offering a very immersive 360 surround sound effect you can actually hear the sounds going from one side to the other side um it's uh very immersive um and I'm actually quite surprised how they're able to achieve this in a smartphone um but if I had to compare the sound quality I have to say that this one is slightly more louder prominent more powerful and slightly more immersive you guys also heard the test let me know what you guys think okay so now let's talk about processing power both phones are powered by different chipsets the note 30 has the Snapdragon 685 which is a 6 nanometer octacore clocked at 2.8 GHz and the Pro Plus has the mediatech demens city 7200 Ultra which is a 4 nanometer octacore clocked at 2.8 GHz both also feature integrated Graphics so note 13 has the adrino 610 and the Pro Plus model has the Mali g610 the note 13 uses lpddr4 Ram with ufs 2.2 storage and the Pro Plus model features lpddr 5 Ram with ufs 3.1 now if we talk about variants I have here 8 plus 256 and the Pro Plus is 12+ 512 it was hard to get a hold of Apples to Apples you can also pick these up in other variants and all the details and availability you will find in the description box below and just to confirm neither phone has MicroSD expansion furthermore note 13 is dual SIM 4G smartphone and does not support eim and the Pro Plus model is dual SIM 5 G and does support eim all right so we're testing the internal storage speeds ufs 2.2 versus ufs 3.1 and here are the results for the internal storage speeds so the note 13 achieves read speeds of 940 versus read speeds of 1544 and right speeds you can see 234 versus 470 megabytes per second so you can see much faster storage speeds in the Pro Plus model and that simply means you can open and close files quicker install apps quicker and you'll be able to transfer files at much faster speeds now before we move on I just want to quickly show you guys under additional settings um both phones do support memory extension so that means you can expand the ram using internal storage up to 8 GB on both phones so when you do select that you do need to reboot in order to take effect so you can see we've activated virtual RAM on both so the note 13 has 8 gigs of RAM Plus 8 gigs of virtual so 16 gigs of RAM total and the Pro Plus model has 12 gigs of RAM we've added 8 gigs of virtual Ram giving us a total of 20 gigs of RAM and looking at the benchmarks note 13 achieves 378k in n22 and the Pro Plus achieves a much higher 738k so interesting results from the benchmarks it looks like the Pro Plus version offers nearly double the performance and power when compared to the standard note 13 due to a more powerful chipset and if we also compare the temperatures so starting temperatures on both the note 13 started out at 32.8 De and the Pro Plus started at 32.1 De so started at nearly the same temperatures but you can see the ending temperatures as well so after concluding the tests the note 13 was 35.7 de versus 36° testing out the gaming performance we're checking out the cood graphics settings first of all and it's very interesting guys so the note 13 first of all so the maximum selectable is very high graphics with medium frame rate if you try and select High the Graphics drops down to low so mid-range Snapdragon chipset it's quite a new one Snapdragon 685 it doesn't appear to be optimized for gaming um nevertheless if we compare with the Pro Plus version maximum selectable is very high and frame rate also very high you got the options for maximum and Ultra frame rate if you select Max the graphics drops down to high which is still very good if you select Ultra frame rate the graphics will drop down to low so we're going to leave both phones at their Max maximum graphic settings and uh let's do a quick performance gameplay test enemy contact losing C capturing B we lost down Target down desty enem lost that round but it's has destroy now straight after playing that one round of Call of Duty temperatures were at 60° C now the game playay wasn't as smooth in these settings very high and medium you probably want to switch the graphics down maybe to medium or maybe just to High um and then things might be a little bit smoother and you can see that's actually a lot smoother now [Applause] yeah so on the highest Graphics uh it wasn't very playable you have to drop it down to medium graphics and then you're going to get better frame rates so that was Cod Mobile on the Note 13 now we grab the note 13 Pro Plus model and we're going to do the same thing we're just going to play one round of domination on COD mobile hangle down get [Applause] down enemy contact enemy down [Music] elimin okay CPU temperatures 37° was the highest it reached and you can see the temperature remained cool uh didn't get warm to the touch performance was great on the highest Graphics no issues with the performance and the standard note 13 actually had some performance issues so if you are going to be doing a lot of gaming already I can recommend that you grab the Pro Plus model now let's check out the cameras both phones have an interesting triple camera setup with very similar looking camera bumps although if you look carefully it's slightly differently laid out and if we talk about sensors the note 13 has 108 megapixel primary 8 megapixel Ultra wide and a 2 megapix macro and the Pro Plus model has a 200 megapixel primary 8 megap Ultra wide and a 2 map macro and both phones feature a 16 map front camera located in the center so let's just go ahead and check out some side by-side camera samples and see how they both fair so starting off with video recording both phones shooting at the maximum resolution which are 1080p at 30 frames on the Note 13 that is the maximum resolution and the Pro Plus model is shooting at 4K at 30 frames but they both do support Optical image [Music] stabilization and switching to the front cameras maximum video resolutions are full HD 30 on the Note 13 and Full HD at 60 frames on the Pro Plus model okay time to compare some photos the note 13 shoots 12 m photos in the standard photo mode bin shots and the Pro Plus model takes 12.5 megap bin shots in the standard photo [Music] mode you can also shoot full resolution photos so 108 map versus 200 megapixels and here are some side by sides for you to compare and here are some 8 megapixel Ultra wide samples side by sides for you to [Music] compare now this is the part where I share my indoor shots shooting some random colorful things in my kitchen testing out low light situations so let me know what you guys think of the cameras let me know which one you prefer from the [Music] two okay so moving on swiftly quickly look at the drms you can see here both phones have Google wide Vine level one certifications and both support Netflix HD with spatial audio but the Pro Plus model has the additional support for Doby Vision now here is CPU Z where you can check out the clock speeds and we've got an interesting situation here it actually says Snapdragon 665 you can see the clock speeds are correct um adrino 610 versus Mali g610 and if we check out both Android versions you can see Android 13 with xiaomi's latest MIUI version 14.0 point2 so there you have it guys that was my quick comparison Roundup between the xiaomi redmi note 13 versus the redmi Note 13 Pro Plus I have to say both are great smartphones offering a decent performance for the price let me sum this one up for you both phones offer an equally great 120 HZ AMOLED display and TUV Rin line certification and both will give you Dolby Atmos sound both have Gorilla Glass protection but that's Gorilla Glass 3 versus gorilla glass victus the Pro Plus also has Dolby vision and the first ever curved display on a redmi smartphone the Pro Plus also has the advantage of a faster processor offering nearly double the performance than the standard note 13 model and the Pro Plus also gives you faster RAM and storage so overall faster phone and the ability to shoot 4K video with Optical image stabilization both phones also offer large capacity batteries with their fast Chargers included in the box which is great the Pro Plus has faster 120 HZ versus 33 WS so those were all the main differences covered I feel both phones offer tremendous value for the price xiaomi are really good at producing bang for your buck smartphones and I think xiaomi is off to a good start they've started this year with a bang lots of Flagship Killers have been produced from the pacco series and the redmi series now the only slight caveats for the note 13 is no eim support um also no 4K video recording either with the rear cameras so that is something to think about if you don't really care about 5G or 4K then of course this is a super affordable smartphone with an absolutely gorgeous AMOLED display but if you want the best designed redmi phone that we've ever seen including ip68 certification a beautiful curved AMOLED display and enough power and performance to run any game or run any task you like then look no further than the redmi note 13 Pro Plus 5G now to find out more info on any of these smartphones including prices and offers do check out the links in the
