WWII Veteran Fires a Howitzer for the first time since 1944

we had a World War two veteran come down and fired our piece personally just looking at I'm going to have those conversations with him it's it's just like having the conversations with one of my soldiers you know it's like he never left and it's our heritage right in front of us and to see his joy and excitement you know reliving those memories and even just some of the things he was saying we knew he was an old red leg at heart so it was awesome to to give him that opportunity I couldn't believe that he was so aware of everything makes me appreciate it even more you know that that people like him are still around and and can give back to the younger ones and and show another generation what it was like to be like him he had like such an exuberance when he was talking about it and and he was like his affection for the weapon was so it genuine every now and then everybody oughta go to petty he was so full of knowledge it was it was really exciting to listen to him talk that poor was 1944 yeah we found some Japanese caves a man of his age and he was shop he was sharp as a tack and he was funny and he was great to listen to [Applause] [Applause] [Music] boy oh boy oh boy
