I was grown up before I grow up like I came out and had to be a grown-ass man because life was just it was tough [Music] my mother was 15 my father was 19 my mother would get abused a lot anything out of her mouth she got smacked the yelling would start and you start hitting her and he gave me this pretty good back in and like cause a permanent swelling on my eye like that's what a switch that's when the protective motherhood stuff came in that's when she had had enough when my grandfather brought my mother out of that situation and allowed her to move back home me and my brother two biracial kids couldn't stay in house we had to go when I first got to the foster family I was obsessed with trying to change my skin color so I can go back home if I could be white I could go home I left home with 15 I didn't get to go to prom I didn't get to go this and couldn't afford that I didn't take my SAT more AC cheeks sports was a way for me to escape football was something that and still discipline me it was an honest thing you play good you got rewarded you did bad they told you about it I ended up expecting a scholarship to play football at the University of Nebraska at Kearney probably the worst day of my football career was the day my appendix ruptured doesn't leach EEP shot at me so I ended up in surgery and in that surgery they cut nerve endings going into my leg I have a permanent limp I never got the movement back that is needed to play football at a high level I was basically a has-been I never was I don't have up to my potential when the WWE came into my world it was Redemption it was a chance to be an athlete again and I couldn't believe it to the point where it wasn't until I was on the plane flying in to McDonough Georgia to start training for the WWE that I believed like this is really gonna happen like I'm gonna get my manhood back sometimes you got to go through it to be better and stronger I wouldn't be where I'm at today if I didn't have the life that I had if I didn't know what it is to lose things I wouldn't hold on to the things I earn now I wouldn't change anything about my life [Music]
