on May 20th 1994 in the sold out Civic Coliseum in Knoxville Tennessee the young up-and-coming Canadian wrestler Bruiser Bedlam was about to have the biggest match of his life stepping into the ring with the legendary Macho Man Randy Savage the ascendant Bruiser wood to the shock of all those in attendance beat the wrestling icon via pinfall right there in the middle of the Ring over the next several months Bruiser would record more victories over other Pro Wrestling Legends such as Mick Foley and Jake the Snake Roberts it seemed as though the Hamilton native was on track for a successful career in pro wrestling but unbeknownst to all the Man known by such Fantastical wrestling stage names like Bruiser Bedlam and Johnny K9 was harboring a dark past and was destined for an even darker future born on December 7 1963 in Hamilton Ontario Eon William crotoru was raised in a working-class neighborhood in the eastern part of the city and was the youngest of six children Eon grew up in an abusive household where he and his family were subjected to frequent beatings by their alcoholic father a rare bright spot in eon's childhood was when his eldest brother would come over and visit this brother was a member of the Red Devils motorcycle club and the stories he would tell Eon about their criminal activities would kick-start a lifelong desire to join up with a motorcycle gang himself to escape his home life Eon became a regular at a local gym called Bad Boys where he would slowly start to make a name for himself in the local community due to his friendly outgoing personality and over the years he would also become an accomplished weightlifter and bodybuilder one time even bench pressing 625 pounds during his youth he also played Junior Hockey and would later claim that he briefly played in the Ontario hockey league for the Kitchener Rangers but since a coach on the team disliked his physical style of play he was kicked off the team but there is no official record that confirms the story by the time Eon reached adulthood the Hamilton and he grew up in had undergone a drastic change once one of the largest industrial centers in North America the city's manufacturing sector had been hit hard by a severe worldwide economic recession that had begun in 1980. this caused many of the factories in town to go out of business leaving Eon with an uncertain future due to his size he was able to find infrequent work as a bouncer at several bars throughout the city he also worked as a debt collector for a local mob boss he would later claim that he rarely ever had to use violence in this role as most people would instantly give him the money they owed as soon as they saw the physically intimidating Eon asked for them to pay up one night as Eon was working at a local bar a pro wrestler came in and happened to take an interest in the large man guarding the premises standing at six feet tall and over 300 pounds the wrestler believed that Eon had the perfect look to be a professional wrestler and recruited him Eon and several other prospective wrestlers from the Hamilton area then traveled to the province of Alberta to begin their training and he was eventually hired by Stampede Wrestling in 1984 which was owned by Stuart the father of wrestling Legend Brett The Hitman heart while there he was given his first ring name the terrible Turk Eon didn't stay in Alberta for long and soon left Stampede Wrestling and began traveling at this time there were numerous independent professional wrestling promotions all across North America and it was not uncommon for wrestlers to work at one for a couple of shows before packing up and traveling to work for another he found some success in this even becoming the AWA Southern heavyweight champion before he was booked to lose it less than a month later to Jerry Lawler in October 1985 Eon left the AWA and began working for the WWF where his new stage name would be Johnny canine here his role was to be what is known in the professional wrestling world as a jobber in wrestling slang doing the job is when a wrestler is booked to lose a match therefore a jobber is someone who is exclusively booked to lose eon's responsibility ability was to make the crowd hate him by being a dastardly villain who uses dirty tactics and cheats in his matches so when his opponents overcame the odds and beat him they would become more popular with the audience Eon had his biggest match yet when he lost to Hulk Hogan in a televised match in 1986. despite the fact that he was working with one of the largest pro wrestling promotions in the world Eon barely made enough money to make ends meet as jobbers were a dime a dozen in the wrestling world and thus were paid practically nothing but this didn't matter in Hamilton where pro wrestling was extremely popular with the many blue-collar workers in the city and Eon became a local celebrity and would later claim that at this time it was practically impossible for him to walk down the streets of downtown Hamilton without someone offering to buy him a beer his wrestling exploits were so popular in the city that he was even able to open up a bank account under the stage name Johnny canine like most pro wrestlers in the 80s Eon was addicted to cocaine and in 1989 he was convicted of drug possession at his trial Eon testified that the long and frequent road trips required by his wrestling career had led him to abuse cocaine in order to pass the time he also admitted to having a weakness for what he called the fast life explaining that he loved cocaine and was addicted to buying expensive cars and partying in nightclubs all night long this eventually became too much for the WWF and he was fired for his frequent cocaine usage in 1991. with his main source of income gone Eon began selling steroids and other illegal drugs through this he became affiliated with another steroid dealer who we only know as the court ordered pseudonym Jimmy rich as Jimmy would later become an undercover police informant and is now currently in the witness protection program Jimmy would introduce Eon to the biker gang Satan's choice and he would go on to become friends with many of the members at this time Eon was still wrestling in various small-time promotions across North America one night after a show in Michigan Eon was backstage hanging out with several other wrestlers when he was discovered by by legendary wrestling promoter and owner of Smoky Mountain wrestling Jim cornette who immediately saw untapped potential saying quote he was six feet tall 300 pounds built like a fire plug bald-headed barrel-chested with tattoos and a legitimate 600 pound bench presser with a mean look I was always looking for heels to take back to Smoky Mountain there Eon was given the new stage name Bruiser Bedlam and would work three to four days every week for Smoky Mountain wrestling in Knoxville Tennessee Eon never moved but instead drove down to Knoxville from Hamilton whenever he was booked for a match during this time he was also working as a drug Smuggler for various criminal groups in the Hamilton area Eon found a tremendous amount of success in Smoky Mountain as he beat the promotion's top star in one of his first matches and also won the smw Beat the Champ television Championship defeating Macho Man Randy Savage in one of his title defenses but unfortunately Smoky Mountain was experiencing significant financial difficulties and they had to let on go before the year was over Cornett used his contacts in the WWF to get Eon a tryout match but unfortunately the company wasn't interested in hiring him Eon was devastated by the wwf's rejection and while he continued to work for various wrestling promotions he became increasingly frustrated at how the shows he would be booked for would take place in front of smaller and smaller crowds with the door on his pro wrestling career swiftly closing a heartbroken Eon used the underworld connections that he had cultivated over the years to join the Toronto chapter of Satan's choice in 1995. during this time he became familiar with and made a strong impression on Satan's Choice founder and National president Bernie guindon who was planning on expanding his Club to Hamilton for the third time in the past Satan's Choice had two previous chapters in Hamilton that had since been disbanded the first of which had patched over and joined the Outlaws motorcycle club in 1977 while the second chapter was dissolved after the Outlaws killed two of their members in 1985 but Bernie was determined to plan his club's flag in Hamilton and believe that Eon who already had strong connections to the Hamilton underworld and was also a local celebrity due to his pro wrestling career would be the perfect man for the job and so in late 1995 Eon was made chapter president of the newly formed third Satan's Choice Hamilton chapter Eon quickly set up shop in the city and chose a former convenience store as the location for his Clubhouse this location was just six blocks away from the Outlaws Clubhouse who viewed this as a deliberate provocation the new gang grew quickly thanks to eon's status as a local celebrity and he also began forging many criminal connections such as with the musitano crime family whose boss Fat Pat personally donated a pool table for the gang's Clubhouse around this time he also became close friends with biker Michael Dube who was the president of the Satan's Choice Sudbury chapter Dube was known to be extremely violent as well as completely unpredictable with the Ontario Provincial Police believing him to be the most dangerous Outlaw Biker in all of Ontario and even other bikers considered him to be a complete psychopath Eon and Dubai were both heavily involved in the smuggling and distribution of drugs especially cocaine that they bought directly from the Hells Angels Montreal chapter eon's time in Hamilton started off relatively well but that didn't earn him any respect from the head of the Provincial Police anti-biker task force who later said quote after a while you can tell who's cut out for the life and who isn't I could tell right away that he wouldn't make it some of the guys would talk to you if there was a guy who was really into bikes you could talk bikes but canine would talk about anything especially himself he was just stupid that way despite the strong beginning in Hamilton it didn't take long for Eon to again find himself on the wrong side of the law and over the next several months he spent time in prison on two separate occasions once for drug trafficking and once for assault but eon's troubles really began in late 1996 when he Michael Dube and several other Satan's choice members visited the solid gold strip club in Sudbury as the group approached the club they began taking off their gang colors and storing them in their saddlebags this confused Eon until one of the Sudbury members explained to him that the strip club had a strict no gang colors allowed policy this enraged Eon who shouted out were Satan's choice and we wear our colors wherever the [ __ ] we want in response Dube shouted out [ __ ] yeah and he and the rest of the Satan's Choice members put their jackets back on and marched into the club the workers inside then phoned police leading to an intense standoff between the bikers and Sudbury police before Eon and his crew eventually backed down and left the club afterwards the group went to a local bar where Eon and Dubai seethed over the embarrassing incident and began planning their Revenge duvet said he would do anything to get back at the strip club which led Eon to mention that back in Hamilton he knew a former member of the Canadian Army named Jerry juretta who was an experienced bomb maker there the two agreed to bomb the strip club for the disrespect that they had been shown not long after Eon and Jerry traveled back to Sudbury and met with Dubai and his vice president in a Tim Hortons restaurant near the highway Eon then gave duvet the bomb that Jerry had made then the two traveled back to Hamilton leaving Dubai to do the Dirty Work unbeknownst to Eon however Dubai had other plans in mind while he was still upset with the strip club the main target of his ire was in fact the police on December 15 1996 Dube bombed the Sudbury Police Department causing over one hundred thousand dollars worth of Damages and injuring one police officer in the process later that day a member of the Sudbury chapter phone Eon informed him what had happened leading him to angrily shout what do you mean the police station it was supposed to be solid gold which was an unfortunate thing for him to say as the police had had a wiretap on his phone for the last year as they were in the process of building a massive case against the entire Hamilton chapter not long after the bombing police conducted a massive of raid on the Hamilton Clubhouse and arrested several members including Eon Jerry juretta as well as Michael Dube back in Sudbury while he was being placed in handcuffs Eon began shouting at the cops saying quote that wasn't for the police that was for solid gold while in custody Eon was presented with the wiretaps as well as interrogated by an experienced officer who questioned him for hours during which he inadvertently revealed that the real Mastermind behind the bombing was Dubai he was then released out on bail word then got around that Eon had spoken to the police which led to him being ostracized from the criminal underworld and kicked out of Satan's choice but eon's troubles were just beginning as his wife would later be warned by an undercover police officer that there was a contract out on both of their lives while it was initially suspected that the bikers were behind the contract due to eons actions at the police station the real culprits were actually Hamilton mob bosses and brothers Fat Pat and Angelo musitano and Eon wasn't the only one on their Hit List Mafia hit man Kenneth Murdoch was tasked by the brothers to kill rival mob boss Johnny papalia as well as his top Lieutenant then he was to take out the president of the Outlaws Hamilton chapter and then finally Eon who was Marked for Death by the brothers because they feared his connections to the Montreal Hells Angels and believed that they would be able to use him to establish their influence in the region after he was kicked out of Satan's Choice Eon had also gone to work as a debt collector for a rival Mafia Family which gave the brothers all the more reason to want him dead on May 31st 1997 Murdoch met with papalia outside of his vending machine business ostensibly because he needed help to recover money that the musitanos had stolen from him papalia refused to get involved and when he turned his back and started to walk away Murdoch pulled out a handgun and shot him several times in the back he was taken to Hamilton General Hospital and later pronounced dead then on July 23rd Murdoch eliminated his second target then he did something very unexpected on August 20 1997 Murdoch knocked on eon's door and when he opened it he said quote John I've been sent here to kill you but I'm not going to do it Eon was initially shocked but then thanked Murdoch for his honesty and for sparing his life to this day police have no idea why Murdoch did what he did now after what was likely a very traumatic experience it would have been a good idea for Eon to keep a low profile until his trial started but that's not what happened as on January 13 1998 Eon punched his former associate Jimmy rich in the face right in front of a police officer Eon was arrested and charged with assault extortion carrying a concealed weapon and breaking the conditions of his bail he was held in custody until his trial began in September of that year where he would eventually be found guilty and sentenced to 33 months in prison for his role in the bombing he was also convicted of selling illegal steroids thanks to the testimony of Jimmy Rich Eon served his time and after being released he kept a low profile that changed when in two thousand 5 he was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder according to police in 1998 while he was awaiting trial for his role in the police station bombing Eon had taken a job as an enforcer with the gravel family in Hamilton which was led by Brothers Paul Danny Andre and Denise a drug Smuggler who worked for the brothers named William Smith told police that Eon was a frequent visitor to the gravel house and on one occasion he had even seen him beat a man almost to death in the gravel basement after the man had made an insulting comment towards Paul on February 11 1998 William and his wife Angie were arrested in Toronto's Pearson airport for attempting to smuggle in five hundred thousand dollars worth of hash for the brothers the couple hired an attorney named Lynn gilbank who repeatedly expressed her outrage that her clients were the only ones being charged as they were mere pawns for the gravel Brothers none of whom had ever done serious time in prison because they were always able to deflect the blame onto their subordinates gilbank arranged a deal for her clients with the government where they agreed to become informants and help the police take down the gravel Brothers not long after Dany was arrested after police executed a search warrant at his house and found over 300 kilograms of hash oil hidden in his boat trailer meanwhile Dany was also arrested after he was caught by police returning to Hamilton after a business trip with over twenty thousand dollars worth of illegal hash after the arrest Denise lawyer approached William and told him we know you're the rat gilbank then arranged for both of her clients to go into witness protection later that same day not long after someone broke into gilbank's house and murdered both her and her husband with a shotgun execution style the investigation into the double murder lasted six years and during that time eon's name kept coming up the police first heard William's story about seeing Eon beat up a man in Paul gravel's basement they also learned from an undercover informant that Andre gravel had put out a murder contract on a police officer who was investigating him which Eon had accepted eventually both Eon and Andre were arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder as well as two counts of conspiracy to commit murder the trial began in 2006 and it immediately became clear that there was no evidence linking either man directly to the crime with the judge even stating that the case wasn't strong the most incriminating evidence the government presented against Eon was a surveillance video of him eating at a restaurant in which they claimed he was talking about his role in The Murders but since the video didn't have any audio the government had to call in a professional lip reader who was paid twenty thousand dollars to come to court and testify in the government's favor but the case completely fell apart when it was discovered that the lip reader had been convicted of perjury in the past and that according to a test they were only able to accurately decipher 55 of the words being spoken in front of them this eventually led to the Ontario attorney general withdrawing the charges on June 12 2006. the next year the gilbank family publicly accused the Hamilton Police Department of serious corruption that had compromised their investigation the police chief strongly denied these accusations and even suggested that they might sue the family but not long after Police Inspector Rick Wills who was one of the main men in charge of the investigation and was also the same officer that Andre gravel had allegedly hired Eon to kill was charged with corruption after it was revealed that he had stolen almost 60 thousand dollars of drug money from the police evidence room after the trial both Eon and Andre sued the Hamilton Police Department accusing them of wrongful imprisonment and malicious prosecution the Court ruled in their favor and both men were paid ten thousand dollars but unfortunately for Eon he had to Forfeit the money after he pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his bail in 2007 Eon left Ontario and moved to Vancouver where he lived with his common-law wife and found work in the entertainment industry first as a bodyguard for big name celebrities such as Jack Nicholson and Cindy Lauper then and as an actor and he even appeared in some movies and TV shows including the TV show Reaper unfortunately though the Allure of the criminal underworld was too strong for Eon to resist as one day while he was working out at a gym he happened to meet a Hells Angels member the two started talking and Eon expressed a desire to join them the Angels would decline but they put him into contact with the United Nations gang and their leader Clayton Rouge at the time there was a massive gang war going on in southern British Columbia for control of the drug trade with the United Nations gang on one side and the Red Scorpion gang as well as the infamous Bacon Brothers on the other side the war had claimed 20 lives thus far and Clayton roosh was always looking for more muscle and so he let Eon join on May 9 2008 Eon along with five other U.N gang members were sent on a mission to assassinate Jonathan bacon they spotted Bacon's Porsche SUV driving on the highway traveling from Abbotsford to Vancouver the Assassins opened fire on the SUV before quickly making their escape at first it appeared that their mission had been a complete success but later on they learned that the person driving the Porsche wasn't Jonathan bacon at all but was instead a man named Jonathan Barber Barber was a mechanic who was taking Jonathan Bacon's vehicle to his shop in Vancouver in order to upgrade the sound system in addition to driving Bacon's SUV Barber also shared somewhat of a resemblance to him Barber was killed in the attack while his girlfriend Vicki King was seriously injured but survived six days after the shooting Eon and his five companions were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly plotting to kill the Bacon Brothers for the next two years Eon was kept in police custody and on January 24 2011 he was also charged with first-degree murder as well as attempted murder in 2013 he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in exchange for the first degree murder charges being dropped and was sentenced to 13 years in prison which was later reduced to four years and eight months due to the time he had already spent in police custody in January 20 2015 he applied for parole where he admitted to taking part in the murder of Jonathan Barber but insisted that he only agreed to help to impress the UN gang and that he never actually intended to kill anyone his application was rejected with the parole board concluding that he was a man engaged in a criminal lifestyle for over 20 years and that he appeared comfortable using violence the next year however his parole was granted and he moved to a federal Halfway House in Toronto while there he continued to be questioned by the police who still had him as their prime suspect in the gilbank double murder another biker who spent time with him at the halfway house would later tell the Toronto Star quote he just became a nobody lost all of his Fame lost all of his clout he had seen better days Eon died on February 21st 2017 at that same Halfway House in Toronto at the age of 53. while his cause of death has never been officially released it is believed that he died of a heart attack although his wife believed that he died due to complications after he was made by a prison guard and that was the video If you enjoyed please like And subscribe thank you and I
