HAVE IN THE SHOP ALL THE TIME ALL THE TIME IS IF WE HAD ONE OF THESE TRUCKS WHATEVER IT MIGHT BE AND WE SERVICED IT THE WAY WE SERVICED OUR TRUCKS WE RAN ALL INTERNATIONAL TOW TRUCKS WE WOULD DRIVE TRUCKS FOR 500,000 MILES AND SELL THEM WITH THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WE JUST SERVICED THEM WE TOOK REALLY GOOD CARE OF THEM SO IF WE HAD A FORD 6.0L IN OUT SHOP SAY IF WE HAD A SHOP TRUCK BRAND NEW AND WE SERVICED IT THE WAY WE KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT WOULD THEY BE A PILE OF JUNK I DON'T KNOW BUT YOU KNOW EVERYBODY KNOWS THE PROBLEMS WITH THE 6.0'S I MEAN THEY HAVE HAD THEM FOREVER AND YOU KIND OF LOOK AT THE 6.4L AND YOUR LIKE WOW TURBO TURBO TURBO YOU KNOW OR TWIN TURBOS RIGHT OR YOU HAVE A TURBO FAIL BECAUSE OF THE CERAMIC BEARING AND SOME OTHER THINGS AND YOUR HAVING OTHER ISSUES LIKE THAT SO YOU THEY ONLY MADE THAT MOTOR FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND THEN YOU LOOK AT THE 6.7L AND YOU KNOW PETTY COMPLICATED TO WORK ON MAYBE NOT COMPLICATED TO WORK DIFFICULT TO WORK ON YOU KNOW THE ENGINE KEEPS GETTING PUSHED FURTHER BACK INTO THE CAB AND THE HOOD KEEPS GETTING SHORTER AND SHORTER I KNOW THERE'S LES AND LESS ROOM TO WORK YOU GOTTA PULL THE CAB TO WORK ON IT RIGHT PRETTY CUMMINS YEAH ON THE CUMMINS THEY DID HAVE SOME PROBLEMS I THINK THEY DID THAT CARE IT THEY SAID IT WAS A PROGRAMMING ISSUE I DON'T LIKE THE WAY DODGE TOOK CARE OF IT LIKE BASICALLY THEY WOULD YOU KNOW THEY WOULD DRILL A HOLE IN THE TURBO AND SPRAY SOME SPRAY IN THERE SPRAY SOME CLEANER IN THERE SOME HAIR SPRAY IN THERE SO THIS OLD MAN SAID HEY CAN YOU DECOKE MY TURBO I SAID YEAH WE'LL TAKE IT APART AND GLASS BEAD IT AND GET ALL THE COKING OUT OH NO THERES THIS CHEMICAL YOU CAN RUN THROUGH THERE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT I WAS LIKE NO WE WON'T DO IT CAUSE IT WON'T WORK SO ANYWAYS I TOLD HIM WE REBUILD THE TURBO AND NOW IT'S BOOSTING AT 97% SO HE'S HAPPY HE'S NOT HAPPY WE HAD TO TAKE THE TURBO OUT AND REBUILD IT CAUSE HE WANTED ME TO DO IT THE WAY DODGE DID IT WHEN IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO NOW IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND YOU KNOW SO HE DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE IT BACK ANYWAYS HE BRINGS ME THIS CAN OF THIS MOPAR STUFF AND HE SAYS CAN YOU AT LEAST TRY IT I'M LIKE I DON'T NEED TO TRY IT HE'S LIKE CAN YOU JUST TRY IT I GO YEAH WE GOT A COUPLE OF OLD TURBOS LAYING AROUND HERE THAT ARE SHATTERED OR WHATEVER THEY ARE COKED OVER NOT TO A CUMMINS HOLSET BUT JUST TO SOMETHING ELSE SO HE'S LIKE CAN YOU TEST IT ON THERE OK SO WHAT WE DID WE BROKE THE CAN OPEN RIGHT AND WE GOT A SMALL CUP AND WE PUT A COMPONEMENT FROM THE TURBO IN THERE AND WE POURED THE STUFF IN THERE AND JUST LET IT SOAK IN IT AND MAYBE YOUR SUSPOSE TO GET IT HOT I DON'T MAYBE THE TURBO GETTING IT HOT IT TURNS INTO SOME MAGIC DUST YOU KNOW TAKES IT ALL OFF I DIDN'T TOUCH IT REALLY NOTHING IT DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH URINATE ON YOUR TURBO DUDE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS LET IT SIT FOR 10 DAYS SO A FORD CHASSIS WITH A ALLISON TRANSMISSION AND A CUMMINS ENGINE AH THAT WOULD BE A RIGHTOUS TRUCK RIGHT THERE YEP WELL WE ARE HERE IN CALIFORNIA SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ABOUT 40 MILES EAST OF LOS ANGELES WE HAVE WE ARE PROBABLT THE LEADER IN SMOG TECHNOLOGY AND I'VE HEARD THE DPF SYSTEMS AND ALL THE SMOG RELATED EQUIPMENT THAT ARE ON THESE TRUCKS ARE RIDICULOUS I MEAN I TALKED TO A GUY WHO IS UP IN MONTANA WHERE IS HE MONTANA THEY JUST DELETE ALL THAT STUFF RIGHT NOW I'M NOT PROMOTING YOU DELETE CAUSE IF YOUR CAUGHT DOING A BUNCH OF THEM UM WE DID HAVE A COUPLE 6.4'S IN HERE WE HAD ONE 6.4L IN HERE AND UM IT HAD MAIN BEARING FAILURES NOT ROD BEARINGS AND THEN THERE WAS ANOTHER 6.4L THAT HAD COME IN BEFORE THAT HAD WELL SORRY FOR INTERRUPTING AGAIN I'VE HEARD THAT IS BECAUSE THE INJECTOR FOR THE REGENERATION PROCESS IS DUMPING FUEL INTO THE OIL PAN AND CREATING OIL RIGHT SO IT'S OIL AND DIESEL FUEL MIXED TOGETHER THAT IT WIPING OUT THE BEARINGS WELL THAT THAT IS ONE OF THE ISSUES BUT I MEAN NO DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD DURAMAX'S YOU KNOW YOU WOULD HAVE AN INJECTOR THAT WOULD JUST START FILLING UP THE CRANKCASE FULL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN IT WOULD COME OUT THE TOP OF THE INJECTOR ESPICALLY IF THE INJECTOR HAD A CRACK RIGHT ABOVE THE SEAL AND IT WOULD FILL UP YOU KNOW THE HEAD AND THEN DRAIN DOWN IN THERE SO IT WOULD KIND OF BE THE SAME THING THE SAME KIND OF THING I CAN'T PICK AN ENGINE LIKE I SAID I JUST SEE I DON'T KNOW ALL THE PROBLEMS I GUESS YOU KNOW WHY I WOULD BUY THE 6.0L WHY I WOULD WANT THE FORD WITH WE BOUGHT THE ENGINE FROM FORD TO PUT INTO SOMEBODYS TRUCK IT WAS A COMPANY TRUCK THEY BROUGHT IT BACK IN ABOUT 4 MONTHS AND THE NUMBER 5 CONNECTING ROD IS PUSHED OUT THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED THAT IT WAS A REBUILT FROM FORD THE NUMBER FIVE WHAT CONNECTING ROD OUT OF THE BLOCK WAS OUT THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK COULD YOU WELD IT HERE LET ME FIX YOUR MIC REAL QUICK WAS IT A ESPICALLY THE CREW CAB ONES WITH THE 7.3L IT WILL SELL LIKE THAT THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL TOW TRUCK THAT I EVER BOUGHT THEY DIDN'T CALL IT A 7.3L THEY CALLED IT A DT444E I CAN'T REMEMBER I CAN'T REMEMBER BUT THEY GAVE IT AN INTERNATIONAL NUMBER SO INTERNATIONAL MADE THE MOTOR AND THEN GAVE IT TO FORD OR WHATEVER BUT ANYWAYS YOU HAVE A TRUCK THAT HAS 25,000 GVW RIGHT SO EMPTY IT WEIGHS ABOUT 15,000 POUNDS YOU PUT A CAR ON THE FLATBED AND ONE ON THE BACK YOU KNOW YOUR PROBABLY AROUND THAT 24,000 POUND OR 25,000 POUND MARK SO IT HAD THAT MOTOR WITH A SPICER 5 SPEED IN IT WE DIDN'T KNOW BOUGHT THE TRUCK BRAND NEW AH THIS IS WHAT YOUR SUPPOSED TO GET CAUSE I DON'T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT DIESELS I'M LIKE CLEARLY A V8'S BETTER THAN A STRAIGHT 6 WELL WHEN IT COMES TO DIESEL THAT'S NOT TRUE RIGHT IT'S JUST NOT OR THEY WOULD BE PUTTING BIG V8'S IN EVERY OVER THE ROAD TRUCK BUT ANYWAYS SO WE HAD THIS TRUCK IT WAS A DOG AND THEN WE FOUND OUT OH THEY MAKE DIFFERENT ENGINES FOR THIS TRUCK SO WE GOT ONES WITH BIGGER ENGINES THE DT466'S WHICH WAS THE BIG 6 CYLINDER AND THOSE JUST PULLED GREAT SO I KEPT THIS TRUCK I DON'T KNOW 4 OR 5 YEARS BY THE TIME WE GOT RID OF IT WE USED IT A LOT IT MAYBE HAD 285,000 MILES ON IT MAYBE AND I SOLD IT TO A GUY WHO WAS STARTING A TOWING COMPANY SO HE BUYS THEN I SEE IT AT THE INTERNATIONAL DEALERSHIP ON DAY AND I'M THINKING CRAP THE MOTOR FINALLY BLEW SO I GO ASK THE SERVICE WRITER HEY YOU KNOW THAT TRUCK OUT THERE FOR THE TOW COMPANY THAT'S ONE OF MY OLD TRUCKS PUTTING A MOTOR IN IT HE SAYS NO IT NEEDS A STEERING GEAR I WENT OUT AND LOOKED AT THE ODOMETER IT HAD 386,000 MILES IT PUT ANOTHER 100,000 MILES ON IT AND IT STILL HAD THE SAME ENGINE SO IMAGINE THAT SAME PRETTY MUCH THE SAME EXACT ENGINE THAT WAS IN A FORD 7.3L DIESEL WAS PULLING
