throne of god so that we can continue drawing closer and closer to him thank you so much pathfinder department for the wonderful sabbath that you prepared for us and i know there is much more that the department has prepared therefore i request each and every one of us to remain put and to wait upon the pathfinder so that they can come and bring what they have prepared for us in this afternoon we thank god has been long since i stepped on this pulpit i think it is before we went for a mission in south sudan and i thank engineer the gospel engineer for bringing the testimony indeed it was by the hand of god and we saw miracles happening on the way as soldiers of christ we said we will go and we did not go alone we went with christ and he was with us praise the lord without taking a lot of time there i would like us to go straight to our program for today that is tell me pastor and continue with the discussion and the bible study this is in line with our theme for this quinquinium or for even for this day because as the world pathfinder day the theme is i will go i will go pathfindering is such a wonderful thing and by the way who i am i credited to pathfinders because they are the ones who brought me up it's that crab that strengthened me and the urge to become a minister of the gospel came from pathfindering so it is not in vain my brothers and my sisters it is good to be in this crab if you have not tested it join it is not too too late to join the club actually there is no age limit even if you are 60 years old and you want to join the club the adventist youth ministry crab crabs there is a lot of them there is the pathfinder there is the master guides you are welcome you are welcome and i know you will enjoy to be in this crab a testimony was given that the oldest pathfinder was 100 and was it 112 years and she was still strong matching and the secret was to adhere to the principles of health and also the activities of path-finding so it is wonderful it is nice to be to be in this crab today we are discussing we are continuing with our discussion from the book of acts we have reached chapter 15 and i see we only have two actually one sabbath two sabbahs one today and next sabbath to end this quarter and the chapters that are remaining need for sabbats because the book of acts has 28 chapters and we are in chapter 15. so we might not do justice to the remaining chapters but we will try our best to see that we have tackled most of the part and we have taken the lessons from this chapter because it is a wonderful book an inspiring book especially in international to our theme i will go it gives us the insights of how to go and it gives us a history of how the men and women of god in the our church were encouraged to do god's mission we have a mission assignment that god has bestowed on our hands and for us to be enthusiastic in this mission we must go and how should we go this book of acts leads us and gives us those insights and we have looked through this book and we have seen actually actually we have been mentioning this and we will continue to remind you that the book of acts if it was it was to be renamed if i'm the one who was renaming it i could remain rename it to the acts not of the apostles but the acts of the holy spirit through the apostles because we have seen how the apostles worked but not by their own power but they worked with the power of the holy spirit therefore i welcome you so that we can go through this book chapters we will try to go through chapter 17 16 and 17 and if time allows us we may touch on chapter 18 but let us try 16 and 17 shall we pray our kind and loving master in heaven we come before the throne of grace at this moment we thank you because you have been with us you have been speaking to us since morning and yet this time it's another opportunity you have given unto us so that we can continue to ponder upon your world we invoke the of presence to abide with us so that as we go through the book of acts especially chapter 16 and 17 that your holy spirit will be able to open our eyes to read between the rhines and to get the tips of evangelism and the tips that will enable us to go effectively thank you because you are faithful thank you because you have heard our prayers in jesus name we pray and grieve amen and amen last sabbath pastor dwelt in chapter 15 and i just want us to go back there so that we can understand where we are coming from in chapter 1 to 14 we have been seeing how the work of god has been progressing and in chapter 15 we saw that something happened that had not happened before now the churches were more the believers were more and there came something new and which what is this there came some controversy from within you know when as we work for the lord pastor said that we should expect some controversies or some comforts because the dark world is not asleep the devil is not asleep he is there we are in great controversy and the controversy has not ended the controversy will only end when christ comes the second time and that's why we are eager waiting for him and therefore even in times of the early church the controversy was there as far as the apostles were preaching and bringing the servants of god or bringing souls to the to the church of god there there came conflicts there came issues that were dragging the church behind and this is one of the issue which came and we see from that one we will see that the the the issue of circumstances circumcised and uncircumcised came in and some believers said no you cannot believe without being circumcised because it was the law of abram but we see that the church came together the believers came together with the guidance of power and the rest and they said no it is true faith that one is saved and not through circumcision elaine white in the book of acts of the apostles page 190 she says that finally the members of the church fearing that a division among them would be the outcome of continued discussion decided to send paul and banabas with some responsible men from the church to jerusalem to lay the matter before the apostles and elders there they were to meet delegates from the different churches and those who had come to jerusalem to attend the approaching festivals meanwhile all controversy was to cease until a final decision should be given in the general council this decision was then to be universally accepted by the different churches throughout the country brethren the organization the church organization was not instituted in the late years of 1900s the organization of the church and how the church should be run was there even in times of jesus and even after jesus left in the times of apostles we see that when the controversy in the church came and when church started sprouting out they had a council which cancelled this the council was instituted of their posters preserected members all over the church and they came together to take some decisions i know in our church there are those who are opposed to the organization of the church they don't respect how the hierarchy of our church the general conference the conferences and what our view but this was instituted as an inspiration of the holy spirit for good working of the church and we can see it started not in the 1900s but it was there in the times of the apostles and when this controversy came men met people from different churches met representatives representatives they met they discussed about the matter they prayed about the matter and they came up with a resolution and this resolution was that it doesn't matter whether you are circumcised or not circumcised but through your faith you will be saved the work of god in earth presents from edge to age a striking similarity in every great reformation all religious movement the principles of god's dealing with men are ever the same the important movement of the present have their parallel in those of the past and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time no truth is more clearly taught in the bible than that god by his holy spirit especially direct servants on earth in instrument on earth in the great movement for the carrying forward of the work of salvation men are instruments in the hand of god employed by him to accomplish his purpose of grace and mercy each has his part to act to each is granted a measure of rights adapted to the necessities of his time and sufficient to enable him to perform the work which god has forgiven him to do but no man however honored of heaven has ever attained to a full understanding of the great plan of redemption or even to a perfect a possession of the divine purpose in the work for his own time men do not fully understand that god would accomplish what god would accomplish sorry what god would accomplish i repeat that point men do not fully understand that what god would accomplish by the work which he gives them to do they do not comprehend in all its bearings the message which they utter in his hymn in his name we might not understand but when we look at the consequence all the series of all the holy spirit have led this man in the past and his reading is men nowadays we can trust that indeed god is faithful the work of god it is a power it's an important work the work of god is not something to take for granted the work of god is not something that you can just wake up and go some few suburbs ago there was a someone here that i won't go and the preacher emphasized that unless we have jesus christ unless we are accompanied by the holy spirit we should not go because we will not be doing what is right therefore just like the apostles we should encourage uh we should engage the holy spirit so that we can be able to be equipped and we can be able to be strengthened and we can be able to move forward and after this conflict we see the work of god did not end there we see the apostles going forward to preach the word for example timothy and paul they went to leicester and when they went there they met with a a disciple who was known as timotheus the son of certain woman which was a jews and believed but his father was a greek and since this wonderful servant wanted to accompany paul and wanted to start the work of god and they wanted to get into the a place where they can minister you know they went out of their way and by the way because of that controversy we see that this this this this this this minister accompanied them but there is one thing that happened we read chapter four come with me to chapter four let's start with chapter three him would poor have to go forth with him and took and circumcised him because of the jews which were in those quarters for they knew all that his father was all that his father was a greek now this person wanted to accompany paul but because of the hindrance of being uncircumcised he himself decided that i will be circumcised so that i will not be a stumbling block you know sometimes we might be doing the right thing according to us but if that thing is hindering our brothers it is better for us to remove it for example when you go to the book of affections you will see that it came there was a conflict again because people were eating what was offered to eidos meat offered to idols and those who are from the gentile gender background they had a different feeling and they started saying no you should not do that that is done by the heavens well how can you eat food offered to gods but paul said that there is no difference because that food that is over idols are nothing because it's just not even a living thing so there is no difference if you eat that food or not but he said for the sake of these little ones in faith for the sake of these young ones because you are stammering broke to them stop eating and that's how we see even after the resolution of the uncircumcised and underscore sized this man timotheus decided to get circumcised so that he can be able to reach in to reach out to the pharaoh jews who had not known about the good news and after that they were called to macedonia and they went there to preach the word of god allow me to rush so that we can be able to to to cover this chapter and when they were there passing through messiah coming down to trust there were several cities where the holy spirit advised not paul and his colleagues to preach and they were just passing those cities but god or the holy spirit brought a vision to paul and he was shown where to go and preach and that is macedonia and when he saw that vision and he believed that it is the holy spirit's reading he went there and preached the gospel unto them and they continued through trust and they came straight to samantha and next day they went to near paris and from thence to philip philippe which is the chief city of par of that part of macedonia under colony and we and when they were in that city they started preaching sabbath after sabbath day after that day they preached the word of god but let me say this when they were in god's business the devil was not happy and they experienced not lead to opposition but they experienced great opposition where they were taken before the leaders and they were accused of bringing a fallen beliefs and preaching different doctrines paul did was not afraid of the rebuke he received from the brethren and from the leaders he went forth doing the work of god and we see that the holy spirit never left them because we see even in their work they were able to cast out evil spirits for example they free they freed the girl of an evil spirit which was disturbing that girl and this is what intrigued the leaders and the master of this girl because he was learning from her they were not happy and they were taken to the leaders and when they were taken to the leaders they were stripped of their clothes they were beaten and as if that was not enough they were thrown into the prison but let me tell you people of god even when we face tribulations when we are ministering to god for to god's people even when we face tribulations when we are god's army we will be victorious we must take risks we must we must take risks for us to be victorious paul and the apostles they took risks and this was risks either they died or they survived they be killed or they survive but the good news is in any way the work of god was to be accomplished when they killed stephen actually many more souls believed in that account the more they persecuted the apostles the more believers believed but victory is ours when we are in god's arm david a young boy decided to take a risk no one was ready to face glorious but david came up and said i will go i will go and fight this uncircumcised philistine who is speaking ill of my god but i will not go with this alma and shield that you king you are giving me i will not go with this one i will go with the name of the lord and for sure because of the faith that david had a miracle happened that god was magnified and was left at high because victory was david because he invoked god in his battle paul and cyrus they were thrown into prison and instead of complaining why god have you not saved us why have you allowed us to be here why why why what did they do in verse 25 and at midnight paul and cyrus prayed and sang praises unto god and the prisoners heard them praise the lord they decided to continue with the mission not only when they are free outside there but also in prison they decided to continue with their mission they sang praises to god it is not easy to sing praises to god when you are in tribulation you must have a lot of faith you must have someone who is holding your back bone you must have the holy spirit with you for you to go on with mission even in tough times then we see the philippian jailer when a miracle happened when they were singing and and praying there was an earthy quick and the whole jail was shaken and the chains were that was holding uh apar saw bar and cyrus they came out and the philippians knew that now if my leaders know about this i'll be killed and before he is killed before he is killed by his leaders he said let me kill myself but paul said no don't kill yourself for we are here we have not escaped and we see that god rescued this man even in tribulations of power inside us we see victory again because many more souls believed actually this jada together with his household they believed and were baptized hallelujah god does not send messages to frata the sinner he delivers he delivers no message of peace to love and unsanctified into fatal security he lays heavy burdens upon the conscience of the long doer and pierce pierces the soul with arrows of conviction the ministering angels present to him the fearful judgment of god to deepen the sense of need and prompt the cry what must i do to be saved this was the cry of the soldier this was the cry of this philippian soldier he knew and he came to understand that indeed this man and a man of god these men are not speaking in vain these men they are special these men have been sent and they are speaking the truth let me say this when we allow the holy spirit to work in us and with us men and women outside there will not be convinced by our words but the holy spirit will convince them and the miracles that will come through us will be miracles from him and people will believe paul continued to preach after he was released he did not just stay that it is enough it is enough now we have suffered enough he he treated the wounds and he continued to preach they went to the saronica there they they preached they opened churches sufferings were there because the devil was not tired he continued to follow them they contin he continued to bring agony unto them but let me say this the reason was because he was preaching a gospel that was pinching always hurting those who are in leadership that time that gospel was unpopular gospel that gospel was like the gospel we are supposed to preach today timely gospels the gospel to tell people come out of sin the gospel to tell people that they are doing what is not right the gospel to call all to come at jesus's feet because the world is coming to an end but let me tell you plainly free for free that that gospel when you go out there and preach that unpopular message it will not be received country there will be objections you have heard what is being preached if you have not listened to some online online messages from other denominations you hear that they are just preaching of prosperity of good tidings no warning people not telling them they are sinning and that is the gospel that people are that people are finding to be popular but you will come with the gospel of rebuking even in our churches today people will shy off and say hey this pastor don't know about faith don't know about grace he's preaching as if there is no grace and people want to be begged want to be to be to be encouraged that grace the grace of god is offensive to all of us the gospel that is going around that do whatever you do and repent the grace of god is sufficient but let me tell you that the gospel that should be preached is the gospel of repentance and running away from sin and then white says in the book of acts and of apostles page 230 and i beg that i end my discussion here she says those who today teach unpopular truths need not to be discouraged if at times they meet with no more favorable reception even from those who claim to be christians that to be christians than deed paul and his fair workers from the people among whom they labored the messengers of the cross must arm themselves with watchfulness and prayer and more forward with faith and courage working always in the name of jesus christ praise the lord we must arm ourselves with jesus christ and he will give us courage and he will help us to move on to search around preaching the gospel calling people out of sin and calling people to repentance may the holy spirit be with us and may god help us to remain steadfast just like the apostles in his cause so that as we go we will go through the holy spirit and we will work wonders and we will be able to hasten the coming of the lord because we are tired this world is sinful it's not habitable anymore to us as human beings this is not what god created us to live in these tribulations we are facing was not intended by god but the devil has decided to take seat and to disrupt us but we are called to go there give hope to the world to preach the world and tell people to repent so that jesus christ can come and take us all where there will be no sin where there will be no tribulations where we will live with him never to part again may the holy spirit lead us and may god be with us not only now but forever more amen shall we pray our kind and loving master in heaven we thank you we glorify thy name indeed great is thy faithfulness you have been with us and you are with us even in our weaknesses you have promised to strengthen us even in our shortcomings jeff of god you are promised to hold our hands as we accept your call to go out and spread your holy spirit you are holy word we pray that may your holy spirit abide with us so that he will guide us and equip us in accordance to thy will and when we are out there we will do just like what the apostles did to rebuke evil and to proclaim of your good news and to preach about your goodness and to bring many unto thy fold equip us now and even as we celebrate 71 years of pathfindering jehovah god we pray that may you continue being with us so that we will remain to be pathfinder strong in accordance to thy will to take the holy spirit the holy uh uh the holy gospel and to take your whole world and to the whole world and so that we're excited today as we celebrate the 71st anniversary of the pathfinder ministry my name is godfrey chiang gola a member of new life seventh-day adventist church fifth gong avenue and i've been a master guide i love the youth ministry welcome amen pathfinders i will go i will go my name is nick wagua i've been a pathfinder at this church a master guide a pathfinder teacher and now i serve as a chaplain in the chaplaincy ministry amen amen my name is deborah ubure i am a flying marine master guide and a member of this church and it's a delight to be here today the theme of our afternoon discussion is pathfinder in action and we are going to look at how our journey has been from the past even up to now and even looking forward to begin it is history is very important and whenever we review history we are able to see how where we have come from through god's providence and his mercies and his grace and to be able to be here and even looking forward we can have confidence that this lord who has led us in the past is still going to be there so at this particular point i would like to call upon teacher godfrey to be able to tell us about how the journey has been thank you thank you debbie now church i'd begin this by quoting some write-up from ellen white the messages to young people if you read pages 196 eleanor it says this that preachers or laymen advanced in years cannot have one half influence upon the youth that their fellow youth devoted to god can have on their associates that is a very important quote talking about the influence that young people can impart on their fellow young people if well trained second one she again quotes and says that i quote as he says with such an army of workers as our youth properly trained may punish how soon the message of the crucified risen and soon coming savior may be carried to the whole world that is an inspiring a message from ellen white and the bible also quotes in the book of isaiah chapter 54 verse 13. what does it say that all your children shall be called to the lord and great shall be peace of your children now it's talking about involving our young people in the church ministry in the church work i will go our young people also need to go coming to our history it's very long but i'll try to be very brief and i'll try to summarize now you realize that for actually about 40 years after 1840 you know what happened in 1840 through 1844. now since 1840 it took like 40 years for the church to allow or grant young people a opportunity to participate in church that means young people who are not allowed to do church work they are not allowed to do ministry yeah it says that for the first 40 years it was taken for granted that young people were members of the church that was very sad the church did not care about our young people but through generations the church has taken on the responsibility of sharing jesus with children amen that is very important and that comes from spirit of inspiration we could quote several books and even the book of malachi where it states that the hearts of the men and parents would turn to their children and the heart of the children would turn to their fathers that was very important now looking at the early years of pathfindering that is as we begin the history and i'll be very brief in this you find that while formally the pathfinder club was reorganized or organized in 1950 then the youth movement in the seventh-day adventist church that led to the formation of the pathfinder ministry started way back in 1852 in 1852 that is way back and who started it you find that we had one of our church pioneers called james white many of you know who james white is in relation to ellen g white now james white came up and edited a book called the youth instructor the youth instructor that was a material or a resource material that was to be used in training young people in the during at that time but then something important happened in the in the in the history of the youth ministry and it would be specific in pathfindering this pathfinder ministry what is this that in 1879 two young boys one called ludavaren and another one called harifena now lutha warren was 17 years of age and harry fan i was even younger he's 14 years of age now these teenagers they are the ones who conceived the idea of coming up with the young people's department in the church or the adventist church in fact when they began this idea it was a post by many members of the church who did not understand what these young people were up to but luckily enough you find that their objective of coming up with this ministry impressed the church elders impress the church as a whole and what were the reasons why they were coming up with these young people's ministry there were three important reasons number one they were planning for missionary work they wanted to go out and reach other young people and reach other people number two they were holding this meeting they are planning to have young people's department to raise money for literature materials that they could share with other young people outside their regions outside their regions and number three they were actually meeting and planning to have young people's department in order to promote the course of temperance of temperance these were two three important aspects of why they were meeting so when the church realized that this is the reason why these young people are meeting so between the year 1901 in 1907 the church adopted their idea their idea and several churches adopted that idea and they started implementing and experimenting yeah the the young people's department or the young people sat within their churches if it could work for them so in the experiment you find that the general conference during then did not sit back but they enabled the church to come up with a program that was called a standard of attainment for these young people this standard of attainment was organizing their programs into a curriculum that they could enable them to learn wholesaling spiritually physically psychologically socially and all that it could develop them whole family so this standard of attainment is what we call today the progressive classes or the aoi classes these were fast adopted or experimented in the year 1907 1907 and in fact it is this a standard of attainment that has become the forerunner of what we call the progressive classes those who don't know the progressive classes these are the pathfinder classes the friends companion explorer ranger voyager and even the guide and to add to it the master guide now again during the 1907 something important also happened in the mean in the history of our ministry that during that period of time the general conference of the seventh-day adventist church took steps in approving the formation of a young people's society in the seventh they have been discharged and they gave it a name it was a very long name it was called young peoples is whatever young people's department of missionary volunteer so when the pathfinders are going to meet it was said young people's department of missionary volunteers are going to meet they're going for a ministry and it's a very long name so it was shortened it was called the mv mv meetings mv a missionary work mv whatever so it was called mv and during then it was not in itself a department but it was put under the sabbath school department that was led by one lady who was called miss flora plama miss proud of rama so [Music] this ali is a easo pathfinder has a long history but i want to make it short by saying that another important aspect or another important thing that happened again was that in 1919 and this is important one elder of a church in hazelton he was called arthur spalding at the sparling now other spelling started to organize small groups yeah in a clubs that were dubbed missionary or mission scouts do not call pathfinders but he was organizing some small groups that he called mission scouts and these groups they did not only do things like camping that you know scouts do but also they were doing good deeds and service to other to uh to other people then finally uh if i may come now to the formative years of the pathfinder club yeah that is in 1920 again we find that the general conference appointed a lady to head the young people's department at the general conference and that lady was called harriet halt now for the ladies who are here hyatt holt is the only lady who actually impressed or influenced girls to join the pathfinder ministry before 1920 the pathfinder ministry or the young people's department was only meant for boys because the activities there were very tedious and these only boys who could do them and they was thought ladies could not so girls were involved uh and and the flora a harriet halt is the one who led that a whatever that campaign to bring in girls and so girls also involved in outdoor activities they were involved in in in in handcraft activities and also involving outreach activities and that was a great step that he took so up to then the pathfinder ministry was actually called the junior missionary volunteer uh society society now the formative years ends with the 1928 when the things that you see our pathfinders put on their shares we call them horners those are programs those are courses that they learn though they learn there are skills that they learn these things came in in 1928 and the person who led into bringing this thing was called c lester bond was called leicester bond now they began with 16 honors and today we have up to 500 honors up to 500 honors so that's how the pathfinder ministry has developed in its programs teacher godi thank you somebody may be asking where did the pathfinder or this pathfinder ring journey start from thank you the name pathfinder was initially brought up by somebody who was called fremont now fremont was just a camper he liked going out of doors and he liked working with young people with young people so at a certain camp where he was sitting he gave a story of someone some people who liked doing hiking in the mountains and he called that person a pathfinder a pathfinder so the story impressed the the young people with whom he was sharing so they still these young people called this person pathfinder so that name path finder began from them so as he was called the pathfinder in every place he went to meet young people they could say the pathfinder man is going to meet the pathfinders the pathfinders so this pathfinder named grill from then until in 1946 when that name was now used in a campaign a company that was organized for young people's department and when they went to that company it was said the pathfinders are coming to that campari so in 1950 the general conference authorized the junior missionary volunteer society to be named the pathfinder club so that name was officially adopted by the general conference in 1950 thank you very much how about over here at new life the story of the flying marines thank you so much we are very proud of the flying marines pathfinder club uh as you know it is the second largest club in in the entire planet earth yeah it is a a club that has really grown so well now this club started way back yeah in in in the 1993 is 94. yeah when it began as a very small club as a very small club in a town hall where our church used to meet now it is a club that was embraced by the church it's a club that was impressed by parents it is a club that was given a lot of support yeah by the the the whole church and the parents so this club grew with a good leadership we had many of our leaders being trained to become master guide to understand how to minister to these young people to these young people and came in 1988 that is 1997 then the church through the pathfinder council proposed that our club being so vibrant being a a club that is ministering to many of young people be giving a name and that name was coined and it's called the flying marine path finders club which was actually approved by the church board and it became the name that the pathfinder club uses after today now the new episode pathfinder club has grown to a point where you find that many of our ambassadors in the church many of our young adults in the church are those that passed through this ministry and you look at our society you'll find that the very best and well groomed yeah young boys and girls teenagers within our societies most of them very influential in our universities are those that came from the new life pathfinders club the flying marine pathfinders club thank you very much for that rich history we appreciate so the take home message is that the pioneers of our church who are young people he has mentioned some names and some have not been mentioned but most of the church has it started growing young people are very active in ministry so young person out there or in here do not let anyone despise your youth because there is these there are great things great exploits that you can do for god just take decide to take action and allow god to use you through through his holy spirit so far throughout the years we have had people have people being positively affected or being influenced to come into the fold of god and and people have different experiences to share today we have one of us brother nick would you mind sharing with us your experience what has pathfindering done for you thank you very much sister deborah jesus says in matthew 28 18 to 20 all power is given unto me in heaven and in half go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit teaching them to observe all things whatsoever i have commanded you and lo i will be with you even unto the end of the world these wonderful instructions that jesus left to us are also a core activity or value within the pathfinder ministry evangelism i joined pathfinder ministry at a tender age of around 12 12 years old at that time my family were not seventh day believing christians and so i could always come to church alone come for the pathfinder activities on sundays alone but one thing that i came to learn from the pathfinder ministry other than the camping the hiking the cooking and all these wonderful honors that we get the desire to to always want to share god's word there was always this burden to go for missions to study god's word and that is one thing that i'm grateful for for joining pathfinder ministry and so this burden became so strong in my heart that i i decided to have a one-on-one with god i went to him and asked him i've come to the knowledge of all this truth i mean path finders but my family does not know anything concerning this truth and so i started on the journey to share with them this truth concerning the pathfinder not concerning our adventist message it did not start at a grand scale i just started by by sharing the bible before we were going we went to sleep we started by i started by sharing the bible and praying in the evening and so it started becoming a culture at home just to do evening devotion before we sleep but still at that point in time my family still hadn't come to the idea or understanding of this present truth and so with much prayer and fasting the breakthrough came sometime when it was almost my birthday and during that time we were having an evangelistic campaign for about 21 days and during this particular date i had requested my family because i was i was i was actively conducting with them bible studies they were studies that were about how they offered fundamental beliefs so during this time i requested them for this one time i do not want you to give me any material kind of birthday present the only president that i wish that you give to me this particular year is to join me for this it resulted evangelistic one day evangelistic campaign and so since they did not see it as a very great challenge i thank god for that they decided to join me for this evangelistic campaign and faithful faithful issue that we serve to the point where after this evangelistic campaign my my brother became the first to be baptized i'm the last one of a family of uh three boys i'm the last one so my first one my first brother became the first to be baptized two weeks later the message the message of truth was was was deep into my family's heart or rather my it was burning that the desire to want to know the truth they wanted to to make the right choice was really burning in my parents heart and so my father followed suit two weeks later after that my mother also joined the church and eventually the whole church the whole family became part of the adventist faith now one thing for sure is that you may think that you are you are too young to share god's word or even to share a leaflet or even just to to to go out there and mess and spread the message but god has given us this call for us to do it for a reason to go out there to share his message um fast forward to the present day today what we usually do at home is that every day in the morning from mondays to friday whereas we live at different locations we have to wake up early in the morning to conduct devotions further than that my brothers have become very active in ministry they actually go for missions they go for chaplains ministry they also conduct bible studies and this is a blessing that i've seen in my family and i thank them very much for accepting the truth and i thank god for allowing me to be strong to be strong in the pathfinder ministry there is one thing that i'd like to share with us even the pathfinders who are here evangelism page 456 paragraph 2 says our work has already been marked out for us by our heavenly father we are to take our bibles and go forth to warn the world we are to be god's helping hands in saving souls channels through which his love is day by day to flow to the perishing thank you very much amen isn't it amazing just to see how god works in people's hearts in people's hearts through other people you know this it is no one has the power to change somebody but we can pray for them to and ask god to walk in their hearts and he will he will do both to will and to do according to his good pleasure and he will be able to to create an impact sometimes it's even exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or imagine thank you very much for sharing with us your experience i know there are other experiences too however at this point in time i'd like to you see pathfinder club does not operate in isolation and without the the support and other the different stakeholders and they all work harmoniously in order to be in order to realize the the dream and and basically to be successful in this ministry at this point i'd like to to to invite teacher jane who's been a mother for three generations imagine to tell us about how the experience the journey has been so far thank you i want to really thank the pathfinder club so much because i have been a parent for three generations i have um [Music] an adult and a young adult and now i have a pathfinder who is just turned 13 years old they have all all of them have gone through this club of flying marines as you are aware the pathfinder is a child or a young person who is between the age of 10 to 15 years at this time they are rapidly growing they are growing physically they are growing mentally and they are growing spiritually therefore they need our guidance both as parents and as teachers so this afternoon i speak on behalf of the parents and what the pathfinder club has done to our children i'm sure there are many parents outside out there or those who are watching who can testify about their pathfinder club what it has done to their children at this stage the children are able to get closer to christ being finders there are many activities that we are called to bring our children to to the club like they meet like every fortnight before they cover the era but we they used to wish to bring them to church but now they are meeting virtually every fortnight and they are being taught much about christ who knows who is the chief pathfinder christ is the chief pathfinder he has gone ahead of all of us and therefore our children we are praying are able to go in his footsteps through the pathfinder club one of the things they are also able to to do is to make learn vital life skills like mountain climbing like the hiking swimming cooking pitching tents all activities they do on their own with the help of the teachers when they go out there our children are able to learn so much more skills than we'd even be able to teach them as parents of course as parents we are the first teachers of of these children but as we bring them to their pathfinder club they are able to learn much much more skills they are able to also learn social skills most of the time these children learn to work together as a team out there in the when they go camping they're able to they're put in groups so they're able to learn how to to cook together to fetch water together they do so much together they even keep friends up to adulthood because those are the friends they they met during the pathfinder age the children also learn so much extra about the bible which sometimes as parents maybe we are not able to teach them through the honor classes you know they learn about the stars they are able to appreciate god's creation they learn about trees rocks so many other things that they are taught when they belong to the pathfinder club the children also are they learn about endurance most of you must have heard about the the machaco's campori which was held in 2018 our children went to camp out there in machacos and it was raining cats and dogs the way it was raining now and the place was almost you know and inhabitable because it was we called it the mad city because the children were in gambles the only time they were not in garbage is when they went to sleep but many are times when their parents wanted to take away the children they were like no me i'm not going home as parents you know sometimes we feel our children are suffering but they are learning and building endurance they are able to endure many a times this this camp out it's not as easy as the way you know we have a bed at home we have a cooker when we when the children go out there they learn how to light fire using firewood or using jico and they are learning various life skills and they are learning a lot about endurance which we really appreciate because this life is all about endurance there is no easy road to life we they have to learn about endurance many a times the children have gone camping maybe they reach midnight like they went to servo some like 10 11 years ago and they reached at midnight by the time they are [Music] unpacking and their food is being made it is like 1am and their lions roaring all around you know and elephants but they had to learn to endure and they ate even like dinner a1 am 2 a.m many a times they go through that and we appreciate the fact that they go through these challenges in life which you know build their their their strength uh again our children learn a lot of discipline in the club you know because this is a uniformed club many a times you would hear our parents telling them don't come in you are the ambassador at the ambadiambo means that they come in their home clothes he says come in full uniform and they must come in full uniform and the time keeping they have to keep time they have to listen cleanly to teacher callings the commander giving you know so the children over time they learn discipline and again another aspect i have that i have appreciated over the years as i see my children being in pathfinder is that they become responsible at an early age because they learn to take care of their staff when they go there camping out camping they're able to pack their backpacks on their own they're able to tick their lists usually they are given a list as parents and their children are able to tick and go through so that they don't go to the camp without without one of the items for me i think the club is really a place where our children need to be all parents need to appreciate that when their children are between the 10 10 to 15 years they are going through a lot of change and therefore they need to be somewhere where they belong and fit together with their edumates to learn together to grow together in christ thank you thank you very much i just want to add something on their parenting because i also happen to be a parent and i remember getting into performance not like him i'm a first day first generation adventist so i just came into part finders and as a parent i decided to join the club with my children i decided to learn with them so that when they are taught i'm also taught and i think this is encourage some parents there that maybe you've not been a pathfinder maybe you are not even an adventist but if you come with your child for training you'll be able to learn you'll be able to to even join the master guide and you'll be able to uh to to learn so much another thing i learned about when it comes to parenting is that most of the parents you are professionals the things that we teach the children here some of them you are the one who is even best suited to come and teach for example an omna in geology if you are a geologist you can come and teach that owner so we are professionals and the things that we teach here are actually academic in courts so we can use your knowledge as a parent to come and give that knowledge to the children finally on parenting there could be a dish of challenges as a parent i had a lot of challenge financially and and and you find that you are also a leader either you're a pathfinder director or a teacher you are expected to take your achieve the children to the camparis or camp out but you don't have money what do you do church please look at the pathfinder club help some of these teachers because they may not even afford to take the children because it could be very expensive for them like for example when i was going for the first company in the u.s i had to go and take a loan because the church did not support but i've been given children to take children can't go alone so i take her loan then i take the children these taught me two things as a parent so that you are able to do that the good news is that whatever amount of money you use in god's service he will he will repay in one way or another thank you thank you very much for sharing with us that experience from the staff point of view what ha what is the experience like uh thank you uh being a pathfinder staff is one of the most yeah exciting encounter that one would ever i admire to have being a path finder staff now most of our church members who don't understand what being a path finder staff is they would think that we as staff members are just babysitters they bring their children for us yeah to spend time with their children so that we can have they can have their time at home or wherever they are going but when you bring those children to us to as we are accomplishing the duty the command that jesus gave to us to go and make disciples to go and disciple the young people to train them in the way they should go so the staff this gives us a lot of satisfaction when i see myself bringing a young boy or a young girl from a very tender age to a responsible citizen somebody who now is independent somebody who can be depended upon somebody who can now contribute meaningfully to our society i feel satisfaction into that so as a staff i really love to be with the young people number two find that being a young people staff and this is important that you must be resourceful you must be resourceful so it means that you must keep up with the changes that come so you must always be ahead of our children if i may ask if a child today would ask you that we are told that jesus died on the cross he was buried and on the third day he rose and after some time he went to heaven went to heaven at the same time you are telling us that jesus is with us so where is this jesus is jesus in heaven or is jesus with us where is jesus a young person would ask you that and sometimes you take it for granted but to them it is in their mind they are disturbed who is jesus where is that jesus is he in heaven or is he here or how many jesus do we have now such a question would make you to go and do a lot of research work that you come with a convincing and a satisfactory response to a child to a child so you find that as staff we are always kept on tours we learn a lot we read a lot we read a lot so because the children that you deal with have different knowledge have different likings have different abilities so you must learn a lot to be able to satisfy each of the children there and finally if you are a friend to children you will never you will never be angered you will never be annoyed yeah you'll never maybe we say that is called what yeah to be to be to be treated some people take like whole week they don't want to talk to their friends yeah graduates with children there are no grudges i tell you you will live a very peaceful life you live a very wonderful life and if you pass this to your children at home to your family at home that can be a very very happy family um i'd like also when it comes to teaching or as a performer staff i'd like to add on what a teacher gaudi has said he talked about being resourceful yes i agree so much with that and i i would like to add that you have to be ahead of those children these kids are so sharp i remember my first offender he's actually a member of this church now he's in chaplaincy with you isaac asakushin he kept me on toes he was so sharp you could ask me questions that i didn't know the answer so i had to really go and research and research and research so that when he brings his inquisitive questions i'm on top of things and i'm able to answer them so as a teacher we have to really prepare before you go to class you must prepare thoroughly so that you are you have the answers even to the questions that have not been asked and you are able to to to to to to answer them i learned as a staff that it's not just about um calling for a meeting it's not just about saying that let us go for a camp out or let us go for a campaign you may find yourself there you may find yourself alone in that camp out with your children if you are lucky to have one if you don't have one you may find yourself alone so what did i learn from there i learned that even as you work as a staff as a leader you must reach out to their parents you must win them you must win their trust you must encourage them so that by the time you are asking for the children to go out they are supportive and they are able to bring their children so that is my experience as a pathfinder teacher thank you very much for the addition i also want to add that um as parents we need to support the club in a very special way because these children we don't need to leave them hundred percent to the teachers you're supposed to be a co-teacher with the children apart from dropping them to the church and going away to the market you need to attend the classes and grow together with these children and also learn as a parent in the process it is so important that we support these children even in their various classes all the way from friends to guide class because they are going through those different stages or in the different classes they are going through is the same way they are going through in their bodies in their minds spiritually physically emotionally they need that support the support should come from both ends and many a times as parents we leave their entire teaching to their teachers as they have said and we are actually appealing to their parents to come forward and teach and also learn together with these children as they come to the clubs um the other challenge the pair the children that the teachers also get is when they call out as teacher jacinta said you know our parents we are as parents we are last minute people and that is a big problem to the club like maybe the children are supposed to go out camping and we are and they have been we've been given deadlines many are times we don't beat those deadlines we stay until the last minute and now we start paying and disorganizing the whole process because we are paying last minutes i'ma then come with the money to the bus which is not a which is not recommended because planning has to be way ahead or way before the day of travel i think it's important to support these teachers so very much because remember this is the age in which these children give their lives to jesus between that age of 10 to 15 years many a times this is when they actually get baptized and before a child is baptized it is the support of the parent and the teacher to bring to take them through the baptismal classes the fundamental beliefs and all that so that they are able to to make their decisions to get baptized this is a very very important age in life where we don't leave the children just to to their teachers as they are given assignments please let us help them back home with these assignments because some of the assignments are very technical as to charm and jacinta has said you know they learn about rocks you know those ones sometimes need geologists so they need engineers we need all kinds of professions to be able to help us in those fields as we as their teachers as the teachers are teaching those owners thank you thank you thank you thank you very much for the addition i would also conquer with teacher jane and say that you know this is the formative years and sometimes these children will not decide to be baptized at that time however as you continue influencing them for good you realize that their characters will be formed and they will be prepared for heaven sometimes there are things that happen and then later on people come to reflect and they make life transforming decisions so let us not take it for granted and you see just like the way teachers at home at school require assistance with their parents even at church we also need your support you can come in you see being a teacher doesn't have to be very technical you don't have to be there a hundred or a hundred percent of the time we know that it is this is the 21st century and people are very busy with careers and things like that but you can choose to pick one or two meeting days and volunteer to teach these children maybe you're a health care worker you can teach them about first aid maybe you're an engineer you can teach them about these technical things you can teach you can teach them about nature and many many things like those it just depends on your willingness to help and once you you avail yourself there will always be an opportunity to minister to them and you know sometimes when the children only see us they might uh it might be more not honest for them but whenever you you come in one a few times here and there it can be a very interesting session now moving moving forward to focusing on the issue about challenges you know pathfindering is not always a walk in the park just like the way they are mountain top experiences there are also experiences at the valley and there are times you feel like giving up there are times you even question why am i here in the first place like let me you just feel like just standing back and just leaving everything and going however some of those experiences they rema they remind us that of our need for the savior we need god especially in those low moments and we call upon his name and we are able to see his providences i would like to charge a center that share with us some of the challenges that you faced and how you've been able to to overcome them i want to pick from what you've just said when challenges are there and you want to give up it happened to me there was this time that we were a district fighter club and then the district leaders and something just happens as leaders there's something that happens that you you don't seem to to get along at one time and i was so discouraged that i went to my person i told pastor pastor sita cosa bin guni ville moses alicosa cannon because of being a leader in the district i am giving up and then the pastor opened the bible and he read you know he asked me and you know i explained what the problem was and then he asked me this one this is the one who is going to let you you want to leave the church because of this person supposing you could see the chariots and ions coming what will you do i know he encouraged me and told me that the small things we have even when we are at a district level or station level they are not you are not supposed to take them personally you just leave them where they are and you continue so i learned that as leaders sometimes you will not go along well but you have to learn that we have different abilities we have different ways of solving the problems and you must keep your focus on christ the thing that you are uh you are nominated or chosen to do in the club just focus on that depend on christ to help you and you will be able to make it your life endurance then um data set the challenges in the pathfinder club actually there are more than challenges there are accidents experience can come that can happen when we are in the club when we are traveling to their campery whether i'm traveling to the camp out or even during the camp out i remember the 1999 campari at oshkosh we decided to do this honor where you i think it's canoeing and we were in a boat with another lady she was from kenya from where you come from i suppose and and and she has never she has never she told me she has never been into a river but there we were with our boats we are all rowing to the other side so that we can get our owners the river was so bumpy rocky so we capsized and when we capsized you know without you know it is an accident we hit a rock and we were down in the water so i came out and then there she was and she was like getting in so i i held her i placed her on the stone and she was so scared you know she had braved the water you know oh mother dealer if you some of you can can get what i'm saying you know so so she's and so she's so scared everything you know she can't breathe properly so i had to really help her then reassured her by the time i'm doing all this the or is gone so i'm remaining with one so i tried i emptied the boat i placed on the boat and and and calmed her down the people who are passing i said you told i just told them if you see our all please just pick it up we'll get it at the end so i had to roll the whole way up to there so what am i saying accidents happen in the company accidents happen in the camp out police parents some accidents happen just bear with us they can happen anywhere it doesn't have it is not only the campouts or the companies can happen even at home recently i saw in the the in the general conference wall of a pathwanda club they were going for a camp out and they had an accident the director died some of the children died some could be in the hospital even as we speak so i'm saying that yes there are challenges there are risks but christ our captain is with us and i'd rather be there serving and being ready for anything than getting the same accidents outside the club you know what i'm talking about because whatever it is having christ is one is the best for me again another challenge as pathfinder teachers um staff we have to really check the weather when we are going for uh you are taking the children for a country or for a camp out because you know there's this weather forecast we normally have it i'm sure you are aware like in kenya we have a weekly forecast in advance so let us try to see what the focus will be so that we are able to to make any events or be able to have a plan b just in case of anything i remember in the 1999 or 2000 for one of them we were hit by a tornado attorney was about to hit the camp out of oshkosh again and and i was so stubborn with my small small tent you know you know you want to show the world that you can also sleep in your tent in a foreign country and so god sent an angel to come and tell me to move to save her grounds but in africa there's no tornado so what was i supposed to do i told god god i truly don't know what a tunader is so me me cindy pahali i'll just stay here with you and we sat there with my my the lady i was sharing the tent with she was from eldorade one of their churches in eldorade at night when people are now running i just found somebody came and carried me in my in in my sleeping bag i was not as big as i am right now i was very small that time carried me in my um in my sleeping bag and went i just threw me somewhere i started asking god god what has happened i thought we agreed with you i mean i'm trying to say these things happened pastor marcy saved my life that day and saved my friend's life but what i'm trying to say let us as leaders we can go ahead and check what the weather will be what is it that may happen on the way so that we have a plan b because the europeans left the americans left the company that time those who knew where to hide they went to the basements some of us who did not know about the basements or where they were we were left there and of course help came but i ignored it because i didn't even know what to do but as leaders we can go ahead and see and even know the place of escape should there be one but the other challenge i think had mentioned it i'll just wrap it again financial challenges are there please one thing that i've done in financial when i couldn't afford even to attend these youth ministries what i did i just carried my my children and i carried them with my tent and i carried them with my mecco and because i could not afford the conferences and the youth ministry things i just come next to where people are meeting and i'm able to feed my children i know i may be talking to somebody there you know not all of us are in the same level and we attended uh the 1998 youth conference in the restaurant i couldn't afford it but i went with my small tent and you know what those people could even give bring us vegetables to cook so there are ways of even attending programs without using so much money so long as you are willing to attend god will give you the wisdom to attend he'll provide the finances and when these two cannot happen then that's where the church comes in to chip so that the teacher is able to take this child to the company to the camper or to their conference or anything thank you the fact that these challenges sometimes are a blessing i want to say the flying marine bus as you see it outside outside there came as a result of the challenges we experienced as we were going to uganda we left church grounds on hired bus and we went up to nakuru on reaching nakuru we got a puncture so the the driver says this one you have to buy a new tyre i bought a new tire we fixed and we left we were hardly five kilometers of nakuru and we got another pancha at er teacher opera had remained behind and was the director of the club at that particular time he was joining us i think a day or two later and i call him and i tell him i'll teach our parents now we have two punctures we have to buy two tyres two new tyres and these children it is already midday they are already hungry we were supposed to have lunch somewhere in kisumu we are still in nakuru and let me tell you that is the time i called elda munda i don't know i think it was the head held and i told you about ramonda we have to buy a bus for our church we are so tired of these hired buses and for sure the flying marine bus came as a result of the challenges we were having i remember when we were coming from sava i think again from another camp camp out camporee and we had punctures and punctures the time was supposed to reach this church with the children we arrived i think midnight or something in fact we had to have rescue buses come for us because of the punctures of hired buses so these challenges are good for us many a times you know we are in the comfort zone until something like that happens we had never owned a bus we used to hire from you know all corners but we thank god those challenges made us and you know for the children when they have these challenges and you tell them let us pray god will bring a solution our way and for sure they are patient they keep quiet they eat their snacks until help comes and we are able to move we reached uganda i think the following morning whereas we are supposed to have reached that day and started camping but all in all these challenges they strengthened the faith of these children so much as teacher jacinta was saying even as we were in oshkosh the first time we went with the children accidents happened and i remember a child was so hot and they were playing football and one of their children elbowed his eye and his eye was bad and we had to rush him to a hospital we don't even know which where the hospitals in the u.s but through god's grace you know we're able to take him to for medical and he was treated and we came home another one was had a broken arm these things happen with the pathfinders and we just have to make the children trust in god that the things will be okay and they are able to understand by the way they they learn through these problems that life this is all about lives we have all the challenges but god comes through for each one of us thank you thank you very much we are pressing on the higher ground each and every day we are learning how to do things better and how to our faith is being tested and we are choosing to overcome and to become stronger in the lord in order to hold somebody's hand who is despairing and together we get to heaven so i would like to to encourage the viewers who are watching us or even the people in the congregation if you have any feedback you can you can send it to us you can ask any question you can comment and moving to the last bit we we noticed that you know we are in the 21st century and there is a lot of emerging trends there is there is always a need to adjust to realign and align to different things so so we realized that we need to up our game we need to to go ahead to be ahead of we need to be ahead of what we we need to be ahead of the game and need to know what we ought to do because things are gradually changing and we we have to be we have to go ahead and to be able to move together so that we can succeed teacher gaudi tell us about how we need to approach this the perspectives that we need to look at thank you as a pathfinder club we always endeavor to try to be up to date with everything that happens around us our young people always are attracted to everything that is new everything that happens outside there everything that they see around them everything that comes from their peers they always attracted and they adopt to such things in today's life you see we have um is specifically talking about the digital age as that now now have you ever wondered what is running in the mind of your child what is running in the mind of your sibling as a child today you find that a very young child will take your phone and would browse your phone or would go to the sections where you yourself you've never been to you've never been to now what is running in their mind why do they think the way they think and why do they behave the way they're behaving if we don't understand that then we are going to have robots instead of children we are going to have different things instead of children and that is why during the corona a season when our children were given to us as parents to stay with them what we gave back to the teachers in schools is not what they gave us we gave them very different characters very different attitudes which they actually did not nurture and why did this happen it's because we don't understand what is running in the mind of our children so because of time i'd only want to say that we as paths find a club and our staff we always endeavor to understand what is going on around our communities around our societies and in the current age example is the digital age that i've given you so that we understand everything that a child has an encounter with as an encounter with and this will enable you to advise your child in the right way that they should go in the right way that it should go if we leave our phones for instance you are putting 10 passwords assuming that your child will not be able to access i'm telling you in two three days your child shall have unlocked the phone and they shall have known everything and even hidden some of the things in the phone that you yourself you don't know so to deny them the phone is not the solution to a call and and and and make opinions about them is not the solution the solution is we need to understand what is running in their mind at their different developmental levels if they are 10 year olds what is running in their mind what makes them behave the way they behave and if we understand that then we'll be able to minister to them in the right way that it will help them instead of maybe calling them names instead of punishing them that would not work for the current age thank you thank you additionally you realize that covet 19 came with a lot of challenges and we had to look for ways of adapting on how to operate and how to to keep going because you realize that sometimes when they pundit when the pandemic hit some people disappeared others traveled up country people had to move places and some clubs just really did near and they are no longer their reason we are not able to meet physically so what do we do we have embraced technology and we have chosen to keep pressing on despite the challenges and we we have had to go ahead of the game by getting to know how these different platforms operate and how to be able to encourage the young people and even encourage the parents to give the young people a chance to come on board and so that we can interact online so we realized that people come from different backgrounds however we need to embrace technology and see how how best to go about all these things so time is running out and i'm going i'm going to give all of us less than a minute to say parting shots as we wind up putting shots yes pathfinder club is very very important i just want to come in to tell you what the lord has done to me in the pathfinder club in my first mission of the journey the lord led me to testify to a young girl at meetandi who received christ after receiving the testimony we had challenges on the way there was an earth tremor on the mountain on the rosary mountain but we also went to see the the the pygmies are they pygmies this short very short people don't wear clothes yeah we managed to see that so it's very interesting on the second my second missionary journey the lord allowed us to shut the mouths of dogs and we spoke actually we didn't speak we had stands and were able to do whatever they had they asked us to do and they provided for us the most important thing i've learned is the importance of uniform when you are in uniform even policemen on the road will salute you they'll not check your bag they'll trust you so pathfinder is so beautiful it's so important it's everything to me and i just want to encourage you outside there please come and join the club so that we can train these children together it's the only blessing the best blessing that you can have in this church thank you my insurance make sure the club has ensured us whatever people are going out thank you okay i also want to add that um this pathfinder club is very important because it is open to non-adventists there are many children who have been brought to the fold and as a result they also bring their parents because it is open in the last queen kenya it was pass it on right now is i will go can we encourage ourselves and the children to go when they are called to go and tell the christ to the others thank you thank you my parting shot is that the children that we have we always understand that children learn best by example and not by precepts now as they see leaders and as they see parents and as they see they are all models yeah a model spiritual and what we call social values then you realize that even them they too will aspire to develop high moral principles and loving and caring attitudes and have a determination to excel in their various ways so whatever we do we should be a good example to our young children thank you but in short there is a question how did you handle peer pressure within the club during your table that's a very good question and this also goes to the pathfinders who are here at at some point in time you will always find those who are around you who don't subscribe to your faith my experience was that the people who around me did not even understand what pathfindering was all about and so each time i could leave home and come to church there was the tendency of people laughing at you they were not understanding what you're doing putting on a uniform and walking in town but i thank god that he gave me the strength to walk and continue in this journey and so i'd like to encourage us here and i'll read from the book of isaiah chapter six verse eight it says also i heard the voice of the lord saying whom shall i send and whom will go for us then said i here am i send me a pathfinder the call is real christ is calling us to get into the vineyard for his service don't wait do not delay it doesn't matter how young you are or even how old you are just get into it and god will for sure guide you and give you the strength and one last thing from the book of first corinthians chapter 15 verse 58 it says so therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast and moveable always abounding in the work of the lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the lord amen thank you very much for all those who are sending feedback on the plat on various platforms and we really appreciate we really appreciate it's just that time is up and we really have to wind up so i i want to appreciate everyone just feel appreciated and you know a path pathfinders and young youth ministry are people that are on fire for god we say that our motto is the love of christ constrains us and we and we have we have been compelled to illuminate the light that has been radiated to us from god so we we are winding up and we want to appreciate everyone who is listening and and thank you for listening listening to us and as we close i would like nick to pray for us let us believe and pray heavenly father we want to say thank you for this wonderful opportunity that allowed us to discuss about pathfinder in action father in heaven it's my humble prayer that whatever we've been able to share our pathfinder has been encouraged our parent has been encouraged and even our staff more importantly lord i pray that we may continue to abound in this work give us the strength the power to ensure that we continue to serve you and to win souls for christ even as we want to continue with other programs it's my prayer lord that your holy spirit may continue being with us for this we ask believing and trusting in jesus name amen thank you everyone god bless you [Music] [Music] um we praise god for that wonderful and amazing discussion of how you just been as a pathfinder we really praise god and um i'm grateful for those who are following us online thank you so very much from the caribbean from the europe from the members those who have participated and those who have been following online we really appreciate you our viewers our brothers and sisters watching from the four corners of the world we really want to appreciate you we've seen many positive comments um there is somebody called sheila williams who says that i thank god for the pathfinder club i am a master guide the lessons and experience i learned helped me with my children and grandchildren what do we say thank you so much thank you so much there is somebody called marine gunter who's writing to us from brixton in london says happy sabbath brothers and sisters she's greeting us from london brickstone another person has also written many many of them abijah williams from saint vincent and [Music] she says i don't know whether it is a he or she but what has written what has been written is that a wonderful program indeed from saint vincent happy sabbath brothers and sisters so many people are writing royal stone amos happy sabbath from atlanta georgia in america lindel daniel happy sabbath from antigua west indies god bless you ren major happy sabbath watching from guyana so we have many many friends who have been watching from the four corners of the world from south africa from the context continents of the globe we really appreciate and thank you so much for this as we come to the last program i want us to turn to our scriptures the book of genesis chapter 13. as we are looking at the viking theme of i will go i want us to turn to our bibles to the book of genesis chapter 13 from verses 14 and i beg that wherever you are we can read the scriptures together the bible says these words and the lord said to abram after lord had separated from him lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward southward eastward and westward for all the land which you see i give to you and your descendants forever and i will make your descendants as the dust of the earth so that if a man could number the dust of the earth then your descendants also could be numbered arise walk in the land through its length and its weed for i give it to you then abram moved his tent and went and dwelt by the terrible trees of memory which are in hebron and build an altar there to the lord brethren as we've been looking at i will go this is another case example of somebody who was also called to go and he was called to go when you read chapter 12 god had called him to go to leave his motherland or fatherland the land of ul which is in the present day iraq to go to the land where he would show him and then when he was told to go there are things here to do at first abram when you read chapter 11 from verse 27 abram left the land of his fathers but he left with a big company he was called to live but god wanted him to leave those who are called he was called to live a life of an usual impact as a person who was called to leave and to go he had an obligation to live a life of unusual impact so this evening i'm going to present shortly on how to live a life of unusual impact for those who have been called to go those who have been called to go out to live a life of an usual impact abram was called to go but he would not make impact much as god would have expected him to because of some things and when you read you realize that at some point terror his father slept but in the big company which consisted of his people they were worshippers of the living god yes but they also mixed it with the worship of idols and so abram was called to live he was to live a life of unusual impact but for him to do that there are things he had to leave one terrorist left abram to part company with some people at when you look at chapter 11 verse 31 at a point of the terror had slept abram only continued this journey with this nephew a lot but still it would not make full impact in life and so in chapter 13 verse 14 the bible says and the lord said to abram after lord had separated from him brothers and sisters for us to make live life of an usual impact as we've been called to go point number one we must part company with our lords abram was told he was called but he would not make full impact with this life until number one he had to part company with the lord so for you and i who have been called to go for us to make live life of an usual impact we must part company with our lords you and i must part company with our lords part company who is the lord in your life and in my life anything familiar which pushes us to live to settle for business as usual something which pushes us to live life moderate average life we must part company with our lords and the bible says after the lord after and the lord said to abraham after lord had separated from him lift your eyes point number one beloved we must part company with our lord each of us has got something the evil one is moving now and again seeking to make us live average lives not and not he wants us not to give our food to god we must part company with our lords abram represents the movement who are moving by faith but one thing which we have to do we must part company with a lot for us to change the world like it was promised to abraham in chapter 12 verse 1 that now the lord said to abram get out of your country from your family and from your father's house to a land that i will show you i will make you a great nation i will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing for abram to live to fulfillment to the fulfillment of these promises you have to part company with the lord beloved one thing we must part company with lord number two abram was told lift up your eyes the text says lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are northward southward eastward and westward it was told look up lift up your eyes now we take we say to take the advent message to all the world in my generation not the future generation now whatever you can do do with now whatever we can do let's do it now it was told lift up your eyes point number two for us to leave the fulfillment over to the full capacity of full impact as we've been called to go point number one we must part company with lord point number two we must lift up our eyes now i don't know how abraham was lifting up his eyes but i know as flying marines we usually go for hiking we've gone to gong hills i remember we've gone to gun hills we've gone to old new zaboo national park where the mountains for hiking we've gone to longer note for hiking i'm imagining abraham was standing at a pedestal a raised ground because he was told lift up your eyes what in other words he was saying upgrade your vision beloved for us to leave full potential we must upgrade our vision first we must part company with lots anything which can easily drag us anything like hebrews 12 state states anything which can easily entangle us we must part company with that lot two we must upgrade our vision to see fire to see fire because god told him lift up your eyes now it is not in the future do it now beloved it is now this time with you and i have our salvation is now nearer than when we first believed we must move fast and then he was told look eastward and westward he was told for all the land which you see i give to you and your descendants you can see how critical it was whatever he saw is what he would be given so that is why he needed upgraded vision to see fire that's why i'm saying i'm imagining it was at a rest ground so that he could see farm when you are at the mountains you can have a panoramic view to see farm beloved for us to go and make impact we must part company with the lord we must have upgraded vision how do we get upgraded vision the bible says in the book of james if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask god's god who is liberal and he will give him or her much more professing for you and i if anyone wants upgraded vision let us ask god and he was told that whatever you see for all the land which you see i give it to you and your descendants forever my brothers and sisters you can see that we can go only as far as we can see for all the land which you see i give it to you and your descendants only what is sought would he be given so you can see that we can only go as far as we can see that is why we need upgraded vision from god that is why we need to part company with lord that is why we need to act and act now for you can only go as far as you can see and that is true do you know that even in leadership for you to inspire a team you are leading you can only go as far as you have the imagination and that is why god is saying if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask god and he will be given liberally you cannot possess what you cannot see abraham was told i will only give you what you say for all the land which you see i give to you you cannot possess what you cannot see we can only possess we can only influence what we can see the bible says that i give it to you it was not i will give it i give it to us present i give it to you and your descendants you can see beloved that our vision another point i want to bring is that our vision is also for the next generation our vision is also for the next generation because it says i give it to you and you are descendants can you imagine if abraham would have only seen some few kilometers how would it have been can you imagine because he would only be given what he saw and not only him but even the next generation is descendants so the farther he saw the better the nearer he saw the dangerous that that is it would be more dangerous to his next generations because he was told i give you that land what you see i will give you you can only go as far as you can see you cannot possess what you don't see that is how critical it was for abram and that is how critical it is for anyone who is called to go we can our vision today is also connected with the next generation most of us who came joined this church late we are now beneficiaries of the vision which the founders of this church had in this club we are beneficiaries of the vision which ariferna and ludavaran had the vision is also for the next generation for us to go we need upgraded no wonder we need upgraded vision for that vision is also connected to the next generation beloved we need points i've said pad company with the lord lift up your eyes in other words let us have upgraded vision then because we can only go as far as we can see for we cannot possess what we cannot see the other point is our vision is also connected as also for the next generation because god said i give it to you and you are descendants and then the bible continues to say that for all the land which you see i give it to you and your descendants forever you can imagine how we usually should change the next generation if we do not do our honest part pathfinders leaders and all the leaders you can see how we should change the next generation if we fail to do our next part now this is a call the call over will go is a call to the awakeners to do our next part in our generation now for when we do not do it we are sure changing another generation our vision begins with us but is not only for us it is also for the next generation it continues to say whatever it is is not only for you verse 16 says and i will make your descendants as the lord saw the earth so that if man could number the dust of the earth then your descendants also could be numbered beloved our call is not only for us it is also for the next generation and then the bible says in verse 17 it says arise walk in the land through its length and its weight for i give it to you after abram had seen he had seen around the panoramic view to see god promising to give him that god now tells him that one was not enough beloved as we've been called it is a call for active participation active involvement he says arise walk in the land through its length it is a command to rise it is a command to reveal it is a command to receive walk arise walk through the land for i give it to you beloved for us to have impact in our going we must explore the land we must be involved that is why is told to arise to walk through the land we must be involved those who are going must be involved the more nature of involvement varies according to the talents gift god has given us god has equipped us with various gifts and talents and so when he says who will go for us as we answer i will go the methodology of your going may vary from person to person but one thing i'm sure he has equipped each and every one of us with the tools enough for us to go if it is singing sing if it is praying pray if this leadership leads for us to make impact we must be involved we must arise we must walk throughout the land beloved it says for arise walk in the land through its length and its width for i give it to you one thing is guaranteed another point which i want to bring stress here success is already assured because he says i give it to you not i will give it to you i give it to you it is already pronounced you know god when he makes his words he can count him because this world is full of promise keep promise give us and promise breakers but when god gives his word he is sure it is rock solid hallelujah he says i give it to you that is why before jesus christ was born six months before it was born it was pronounced in past tense for unto us a child is born it was already pronounced in past tense six months before it was it happened for when god makes promise he will surely deliver it hallelujah he says i give it to you so for you and i who have been called to go to make impact part company with the lord i have upgraded vision ask god let us act and act now let us act and act now for what we can only go as far as we can see our vision is also for the next generation let us do our next part lest we shall change the next generation our call is not only for the local here it is global but this call is global abram was told i will bless those who bless you meaning is called was global even the call we are given today is global to invite people to come and see the goodness of god and he said it is a call for us to be involved arise work in the land we must explore we must be in the involved and then the message which gives me hope success is already assured i give it to you then verse 18 which is the conclusion it says then abraham moved his tent and went and dwelt by the terrible trees of mamrie which are in hebron and built an altar there to the lord beloved one thing we get if you want to go far if you want to make impact this call over will go is a call of obedience it is a call of obedience when abram had seen all that he moved his tent and went and dwelt by the terrible trees of mamre which are in hebron and built an altar there to the lord those who are going must have time with their god hallelujah abram was building those altars not for the sake of it but to offer sacrifices both morning and evening calling upon the name of the lord those who are going must build altars for the living god in their houses in their places of work those who are going must have special altars as i was reading this i was shocked that during this time even when a child was born when the child was being weaned from now circling the mother a celebration would be arranged today we only have maybe showers baby showers those are the ones birthdays during that time it was serious even when a child now sees us from taking milk a celebration a car or a calfire to be slaughtered serious because that is a milestone to give the name of the lord glory hallelujah we have to have altars where we lift the name of the lord if we have to make impact in our going he had an altar and this is a challenge i want to give to all of us let us erect altars to lift the name of the lord pray give him glory for all the small things the big we may call them small but they're big because when you are swallowing saliva that is a miracle we need to thank him for that we must have altars where we are giving glory to god my dear brothers and sisters as we go those who have called to go i want to remind us all that first we must part company with lord anything which can entangle us we must part company with the lord we must lift up our eyes now and if anyone likes wisdom let him ask the savior for he will give us liberally we must act now and have upgraded vision for we can go only as far as we can see our vision is also for the next generation so if we do not do our next part we are sure changing the next generation we must be involved arise work in the land and then the bible says success is already guaranteed when we go in the name of the lord success is already guaranteed and then this call is a call to obedience abraham erected his altar under the terrible tree of the memory so that you call the name of the lord those who are going must have a relationship with god they must direct altars to lift up the name of the lord whether it is at work whichever place you are in where we lift his name day and evening day morning and evening we it is a call of obedience where the name of the lord must be lifted may god bless us as we aspire as we pray to live lives of impact in our going for those who are going in the name of the lord success has already been assured and may god bless all of us in jesus name let us pray our gracious loving father above we give you glory and honor for the assurance you've given us that success has already been given to us if we come in your name you have called us to go and go and make impact for your kingdom but lord we realize that we have company with the lord we pray that you may give us the strength to part company with the lord in our lives that lord we may have upgraded the vision that we may see far for all this is also for the benefit of the next generation teach us to be to do our honest part to be faithful in the duties you put in our hands we thank you for giving us assurance of involvement that we arise and walk and giving us assurance of success lord god we thank you we adore you we pray that we may learn to erect temples to erect sanctuaries for youth altars of sacrifices in our families individually and corporately that you may abide with us as you guide our feet as we go in your name we thank you for this club globally and locally we thank you for each and every one of us that lord may you write our names this eternal book of life that after you have done all this we may not be found one thing when you come the second time but together with the ransom when you come we may meet you in the air saying this is our savior whom we have been waiting for we rejoice in his salvation we thank you we adore you we magnify your name we ask this in the mighty name of our lord and savior jesus christ our righteousness amen [Music] greetings friends i'm delighted to let you know that this sabbath september 18 is a very exciting event for thousands of young people around the world it is world pathfinder day let's
