Working on getting a 1979 International 1724 running in time for harvest.

[Music] oh I kind of of push it was well I wonder if the clutch is stuck I don't know that's what I say it's kind of a cuz it this feels like we're stuck in gear here and I guess I could hopefully get it into a gear if I get her knocked out well um got it in gear now yeah think maybe I should move the Ranger where's it at it's on that side that will moved before what well so when we were loading it it rolled easily when I was when they pulled me forward and then I put it in gear I thought I don't want to go drive it over the front of the trailer so oh look at that Powerhouse in there D what is it 345 International is it 466 where the hell's the battery even go oh right there you got a 31 battery around are they 916 probably mck works either notice that gas I might need to grab okay so we bought this truck from a local farmer kind of family friends of ours and uh it had been sitting for several years wasn't really clear how many years it it sat so here now I'm trying to uh get a new battery put in it and it'll able to crank it over good and uh dump some gas down the carburetor and see what signs of life we have hey Oliver come here Oliver your humping really helps the situation huh Oliver humping my leg really go up and then I grabed I bought a qu of brake fluid to DP how do you ever get the air out of that I've wondered that on these trucks I think they they must rely on Voodoo or something like that well must go up to the micr lock don't it so what happened do they all go on when you put that micr lock on yeah that'd be nice I suppose uh that' be ideal wouldn't it must be what they do there's only one brake line coming out take the cap off that master cylinder huh take the cap off the master cylinder oh that might be fun too Oher fingers than I do youy this vehicle is expected on this date in 1949 did it move no that's trou damn that to man I'll be man I got the wheel turned right for this side access here that 8,000 over there in BR that only got 1,700 bucks out of it well the old they got $17 that's what the that one up there let's go that I which one7 the price on it they 1486 there they must sold they got a and uh shy that didn't run something Che trailer all truck czy ecks I think he needs one [Music] very fast oh it should up on this who knows if the battery's very good on it too well I don't know I charg that has been set there for La for how long I did charge them one day [Applause] [Music] but what do you think Oliver well has some life I didn't record you backing off because I was afraid if something went bad we didn't want to see it we didn't want to replay that no for R so here now we had got it so it would actually run an idle with the bowl filled up on the carburetor but as soon as the bowl emptied out it wouldn't run we found that it was not for one pumping any fuel with the fuel pump that was not working and also the gas that was in the tank was really nasty so you'll see me here trying to figure out the truck has two fuel tanks on it and um try to figure out for sure which one is the one that's hooked up or if they're both hooked up or what and how to drain them to get the fuel out so we can get fresh stuff in and a fuel pump installed she going to start pumping on her own sometime wonder if there's even gas in there use oh yummy keeps getting better and better so here I am further inspecting the fuel tanks and I determined both of them need to be drained um the rear one turned out to be in much better condition than the front one and that is the tank that we are using um coming up here we put a electric pump in place of the mechanical pump that's on it and we get it to run and on its own and till we can get the mechanical fuel pump to replace the old one you going to blow us up don't break so so we now have it running and uh it's got an electric fuel pump on it and some fresh gas in the tank and it seems to be running pretty good and idling um but we also find out that the cl disc must be stuck to the um flywheel which we later had to free up and here now in this chunk of the video I am I just installed the new uh mechanical fuel pump and I'm trying to get it everything all primed back up to that so it's just about ready to try out while I'm trying to get it running here I will tell you guys that uh we did get the bra brakes to bleed and it does have brakes now I didn't want you thinking I was going to go driving around without any brakes as I had said in the earlier uh part of the video [Music] h [Music] [Music] I if I get it running move the Ranger [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so here we are now this is uh combine in the first day we're using that the truck when to harvest crops um I mean I know these old single axle trucks don't fit into everybody's operation but the between this truck and the for we've already had it uh they really work well with the smaller machinery and just the small amount of Acres that we have to farm and we're not trying to pull gravity boxes all over with tractors and and uh it it really was a time saer so here it is the last load we took of the season to town with it um it died on me at the stop sign I think some sh crap got in the carburetor and stuck the needle valve wide [Music] open [Music] a
