today I'm talking about the problem of a stuttering mouse so a wireless mouse 2.4 gig not bluetooth here 2.4 gig stuttering across the screen if you come to this video and you just want the solution well it's not going to work for everybody but really as far as I'm concerned it's as simple as getting better reception between the wireless mouse and the wireless nano transmitter or whatever simple as that I don't believe that many of the problems out there are to do with drivers I don't think that it's necessary to rollback drivers don't think it's necessary to update drivers don't think it's necessary to do virus scans I don't think it's necessary to reinstall windows as you see on certain forums oh yeah reinstall windows they'll do what a stupid solution to the problem but you seem to get it still from a load of people suggesting that reinstalling Windows is the way to go a lot of issues to do with wireless stuff like this has to do with RF interference it's to do with the noise floor and the difference between the noise floor and the actual signal received by the mouse now there are scenarios I think where USB 3 can cause problems with the frequencies that these use and I don't know if there's any real solid proof to that but I did when I was having problems with it I kind of cleared up my USB 2 stuff and put this on its own in a USB 2 port at the back of the case and that seemed to improve things but again it's one of those well it seemed to but I wasn't absolutely sure but it does does seem to it's worth trying I think to start with just try using this on a USB 2 port and kind of clear other stuff out of the way again it's just about reception because having USB 3 in there as well will raise the noise floor ie increases interference and which means that when this is trying to receive it it's just getting swamped by other stuff going on in sure the solution is just get it closer get it as close as you can whenever I use them on laptops they're absolutely fine and of course the reason is this on my blacktop anyway sits on the right-hand side and this sits about you know a couple of centimeters away it doesn't have a problem but I always thought to myself surely a wireless device can go like a meter between my desk here and the computer that sits just there surely that's not a problem well it appears it is because any interference is enough as again you know it's all about kind of getting that clear you know the signal being clear of the noise floor if you've got a ton of interference and a ton of noise around you're going to have problems so what I've done now what I've kind of resorted to now is just getting out this out of the other loft I found it in a box of wires in the loft Anu had on somewhere just a USB extension cable plug that in to the port where I'm gonna be using it plug this in the end get it just under the under here just on the floor separate from the PC Kay separate from the interfere and separate from all the other electronic stuff going on cause there's like main stuff down there on the floor and what-have-you but there's not all the kind of usb3 interference it just gets there separate from the main case and that's worked for me so I think my opinion anyway and prove me wrong by any means my opinion is that if you're having this problem it is most likely to be an RF in severe issue so an ad o frequency issue to do with reception of this transmitting and this receiving too much noise or too far apart as simple as that because the problems I haven't was just stuttering across the screen randomly stopping just like as if the CPUs busy and it's lagging or something it's not it's just reception try it try getting it as close as you can move your mouse mat stick it right next to the PC temporarily if you got a desktop PC try and you know work it that way and just try and you work the problem and figure out what what it's not more than anything else but I would definitely not recommend changing a load of drivers changing all that sort of stuff it's just not worth it [Music]
