I run joy-driven businesses because Joy is the highest quality of fuel you can get I'm not saying discipline and perseverance aren't great qualities but I would much rather optimize my business for Joy instead of training myself to stay on the grind if I'm totally demotivated and burned out if you're an engineer and you love coding but you hate writing don't rely on content marketing and SEO just because people say that that's what businesses should do use engineering as marketing and micro products to drive sales instead if you love to talk to people and create relationships don't worry if people tell you it won't scale scale's fine and if that's what you love to do it scales better than burning out does really Joy of doing should be the first Factor you rank any new business activity on trust me it'll get you much further ahead if you just have a ton of fun and simply can't get enough of running your business
